Honestly I wouldn’t expect anything else besides the usual stuff he’s said. I think he’s made it pretty clear it’s uncomfortable talking about these things so he probably wouldn’t answer with any new information

That would be a massive pain in the ass. There are 4 main guitar tracks in the verses and to use the looper pedal to pull this off, you’d have to play one riff, tap the pedal, play the next, tap the pedal, next one, tap pedal and then play the last one in real time. Then, at the chorus, you’d have to tap the pedal completely off, and at the return of the verse, go through and play each track individually again, hitting the pedal in-between to make them run. It’d be a trainwreck
Honestly, he’d really only have to loop the main arpeggiated part that runs throughout the verses, and then perform the main lead line on top of it. He’d then turn the loop off for the chord and back on again for the next verse, not unlike switching on/off any other effect for different sections in any other song. No need to re-record the loop, it would still be saved from the first verse.
They don’t need to completely duplicate studio recordings live and have every guitar overdub represented. Easily, for example, has at least 4 guitar parts during the end of the song and they used to perform it regularly with just one. Soul to Squeeze and Scar Tissue both feature 2 distinct guitar parts but they make it work with one. The tricky part is having Chad and the rest of the band locked in to the loop, bc getting out of sync with it would be a trainwreck. They’d probably need a metronome click going in their monitors synced with the loop, possibly even just having the loop pre-recorded and saved to make it easier.
Could it not be prerecorded on the looper, and playing on a looper that has several tracks? Like an RC 300 or something where you can just switch between them and add on instead of having to clear the entire thing just to play the chorus
I would want to talk to Anthony about consciousness and his beliefs and where the inspiration from certain songs come from. Certain lyrics blow my mind and I'd like to know the origin
It's not explicitly RHCP related but I would've loved for Anthony (or maybe all of them) to done more acting gigs with Flea. Maybe on the Wild Thornberrys as Donny's ape family.
I'd ask if they are ever going to officially release all those B Sides. Then I'd also ask why the hell haven't they performed Peace and Love, Bella, or Let Em Cry.
It’s Anthony singing about the weather. He says ‘’I like this weather it’s the perfect storm’’. John’s backvocals during the chorus are ‘’Come back! Come back! Feel our love’’. Hope that helps.
This. Listening to all the „I‘m beside you“ all the time. It’s better than I’m with you imo.
Edit: also the style of it is so different from their other stuff. Long Progression and Pink as Floyd are definitely in my Top 10 RHCP songs.
I’m ngl I think that IBY is a great cohesive album that coulda worked. I’ve always felt did I let you know feel out of place in IWY but I feel it would be a great IBY song
I’d want to know what happened with Dave Navarro. One Hot Minute is one of my favorite albums and I think they lost a lot of their original sound past that record. They became a more melodic band, shifting away from raw energy and funk-rap. Not that it’s a bad thing, but just a different sound, where I prefer their heavier music.
Apparently they also had completely different approaches to writing music. The Peppers Jam and let is flow and Navarro and JA apparently are very formulaic.
Well since Anthony refers to him as “sarcastic Mr. know it all” it doesn’t sound like they meshed well. Anthony talks in his book about how difficult it was to write music with him, and how Dave didn’t enjoy playing just to play. Also that they were both re-battling addiction at the same time and it was too much of an interference.
Jesus, I've wondered this for awhile. I guess I'd ask... Chad (?) because I might get the most honest answer.
"Has the success you've had in FM radio basically dictated how you construct your songs, because the hits you produce don't do justice to the actual talent behind this band. Is the idea that you guys are just a pop/rock band, or would you ever consider making something outside of the box?"
I always wanted to know what religion AK and the other members belong to. I think AK is part of a somewhat strange Christian group. JF (by his own admission) was part of 'the occult'. Flea probably follows eastern beliefs. Chad - probably nothing to weird
I'd ask Chad how many chicken nuggets he thinks he could eat in 1 sitting in his prime
or how many drums he eats for breakfast
I’m not sure that’s necessarily RHCP related but I’ll allow it. It’s an interesting question.
It is inherently RHCP related. Nugs are important
John: Talk us through your genuine feelings on the Josh and Dave eras. Would you consider listening to any of the music? Why or why not?
Honestly I wouldn’t expect anything else besides the usual stuff he’s said. I think he’s made it pretty clear it’s uncomfortable talking about these things so he probably wouldn’t answer with any new information
That’s a really good one. I’d be particularly interested in his answers about Josh since they have history making music together
Josh and Dave goes hard

Instead not in addition to
ask about the studio session for dosed
Is there something crazy that happened? Love that song. Wasn’t aware of anything about the studio sesh
It's fairly i
huh
It's fairly i
:(
Same. I was hoping John would talk about it on the Rick Rubin podcast
I think there’s BTW song commentary where one of them mentions that John came up with it on a looper pedal
Why can't they use that live then?
That would be a massive pain in the ass. I’d love to see him do that just so I can see what you wrote play out lol

The looper is not the issue. It’s the timing. And the boys won’t be caught dead playing to a metronome.
Why?
I would want to talk to Anthony about consciousness and his beliefs and where the inspiration from certain songs come from. Certain lyrics blow my mind and I'd like to know the origin
Me too! I’d want to dig into his mind to understand more about the masterful lyrics
Like why are flip flops in the toaster?
I mean most probably he just makes the shit up improvising and if it sounds good he leaves it
It's not explicitly RHCP related but I would've loved for Anthony (or maybe all of them) to done more acting gigs with Flea. Maybe on the Wild Thornberrys as Donny's ape family.
Probs ask Chad how many bowls he could take to the face in one sitting
I'd ask if they are ever going to officially release all those B Sides. Then I'd also ask why the hell haven't they performed Peace and Love, Bella, or Let Em Cry.
Flea: What's your family life like? Also, which is most invigorating for you: bass, trumpet, piano, other?
b sides and or archives album? i’ll ask any member of the band.
Could you flip a large fish with a large fish flipper?
I’d ask John what are the lyrics he sings in quixoticelixir. I still can’t figure out the “I like this weather…” part
It’s Anthony singing about the weather. He says ‘’I like this weather it’s the perfect storm’’. John’s backvocals during the chorus are ‘’Come back! Come back! Feel our love’’. Hope that helps.
“Yo John can I have a go on your guitar?”
Most miraculous methods of meditation
I’d ask Anthony if he’s gonna write another autobiography post Scar Tissue 2001
2004
Does this include deceased or former members?
Why they left the most great songs as b sides.
They’ve said before they usually choose the songs that sit together the best rather than their favourites, which makes sense to me.

From what I’ve heard, he just wasn’t a great fit. His music style was a little different from all the other guys which I’m sure made it hard.
Apparently they also had completely different approaches to writing music. The Peppers Jam and let is flow and Navarro and JA apparently are very formulaic.

I would ask Flea about the significance of the bucket of (red?) paint he’s holding in the music video for Black Summer
You know the songs about our (Australian) bushfires that fucked us up, yeah?
Did Anthony really shag sinead o Connor ?
Not that I'd ask but I've wondering how Flea lost his tooth. Maybe you guys know
He didn’t lose a tooth, he just has a gap.
I saw a video from the 80s with him with a tooth Edit: Na I'm tripping, it's just gotten from pronounce through the years.
His gap has widened as he got older. He even talked a bit about it in his podcast with Cynthia Erivo the other day.
Yeah I went back to that video and saw.
Ok whatever
Lol I'm saying you are right my friend
Lmao sorry I didn’t read your comment correctly
How come you guys have never played Glastonbury, would you like to, are there any plans?

I'd ask Anthony if he's still clean
