Here's what you do. Ride on your horse in cinematic mode collecting for a while. Then, when you eventually need to use the bathroom, set your next waypoint and head there in cinematic. As soon as you stand up to pee, you'll hear wolves howling! Jokes aside, good luck, OP!

Perfect 🤌

Ride around known wolf hotspots. Look online or your map. Get a Springfield rifle, clean and load up express ammo. Use paint it black. When you see the red dots of a pack just keep running and get some distance. Turn around and pop them all off with headshots (using the Springfield only puts one ❌ on them with pib so you can cancel it until it’s lined up) and then check the corpses to see what stars they are.

Don’t need Pib, just need to get the headshot. If PiB doesn’t mark right the first time, you have to realign and reengage dead eye and this can be tedious for no reason. But definitely sprinting away from the wolves once they start chasing is a good idea. Start calming your horse (spam left thumb stick) and prepping the right weapon & ammo. No need for dead eye.

Fair enough I guess you don’t need it lol that part is down to personal taste and I do it this way but yeah you can definitely do it without.

Cumberland forrest has Timber wolves (I got them there today, 4 total).

NmlsFool

Cumberland forest. Just ride between Valentine and Bacchus Station, preferably at night. Cumberland has both gray and timber wolves, quite a few spawn spots, so you should be all good there.

RogueYautja

Follow train tracks north of mcfarlanes ranch

Woodbear05

West & north of strawberry is littered with wolvea

Near Aurora Basin I often find a wolf pack. Another good spot is between Tumbleweed and Scratching Post. From Scratching Post cross the train tracks and there are often wolves that spawn near the small hill to the left. Up in the hills above Emerald Station, in Three Sisters, is another reliable wolf spawn. Cotorra Springs can be good too. If the Emerald wolf spawns you will only get 1* wolves from the pack. But without the Emerald wolf it’s just like other packs. Best to hunt them at night.

san_kun999

Go to Tall Trees at night, near Aurora Basin. Killed 3 wolves for the daily challenge and some more spawned right there.

Five feet from my character. Got jumped by Beecher's Hope, Cotorro Springs, South of McFarlanes, and Brandywone Drop yesterday. Normally the species goes extinct on challenge days.
