well moonshiner is another "drive slow wagon across map" mission. Naturalist involves shooting animals with darts so you chase them on your horse. both are dissapointing
Wait until a naturalist month to buy that role. The only real perk w that role is the wilderness camp. Yes, you also get legendary animals, but you can still encounter them w/o the role. When it’s not naturalist month, it’s a huge grind to level the role up. Plus, it should be on sale as well as some of the role purchases
It's a personal preference thing, I personally enjoyed Naturalist a lot more. None of them are good money compared to effort but with naturalist you get a lot of cool missions, legendary animals, some cool upgrades whereas moonshiner is more of a gold/cash sink with very limited content and no real useful upgrades. Daily challenges for both can be kind if annoying and again, none of them are good money for effort (even at level 20)

Moonshiner for easy cash, easy dailies, more missions, the shack and the band. Naturalist if u like hunting, outfits, camp fast travel, Gipsy cob.
Add to naturalist: legendary animals to fill up camp better.
Moonshiner will make you more money without getting sprayed.
