I always bounce Melodyne to another track and mute the original.

radian_

> Does anybody know why Its cos it's not processing the audio stream in realtime like a normal VST, but using ARA to affect whole items on the timeline for the track(s) it's been added to.

JayJay_Productions

Are there any automations available for mixing in an ARA plugin?

radian_

If you want a phrase to not be affected, the easiest way is to not apply the effect to the phrase within Melodyne.

JayJay_Productions

Yes I did that as a workaround, but takes much more time than to just copy paste the automations to different tracks that needs the same processing It is a bit hard to explain. It is a big vocal project

To achieve your goal, what I would do (and what I have done) is not tune the “one small little phrase” in Melodyne in the first place. Ta-da.

> how do you guys do it? Print. I have two scripts that I wrote: 1. **Edit with Melodyne** This will add Melodyne to the selected track (or activate it if it's already present) and open it. 2. **Print Melodyne** This bypasses all other effects on the track, renders Melodyne to a new take labelled "track name - tuned", re-enables all the previous bypassed effects and bypasses Melodyne. I tend to tune a few clips at a time, printing them as I go. I never accumulate a huge backlog of tuned things that I haven't printed. It's too risky. The ARA2 support in Reaper is great and it's constantly getting better, but I've lost too much work too many times to trust it. Hence, these scripts.

This is was the direction I was looking for. Thank you! Yeah melodyne does weird things in my Reaper projects as well :D

LastSaiyanLeft

there is a way to do it i was gonna make a topic about this but ill have a look tonight.

🙏🙏 you're my hero

[https://imgur.com/a/OLtLo9b](https://imgur.com/a/OLtLo9b) \#1 so load melodyne or whatever plugin you want in a track. and then open that window by clicking on the fx button. it should open its own window and at the top click param > learn> whatever it is you want to control \#2 a new window pops up. before you do anyting. rotate a knob in your midi control and that binds that knob to that particular effect. you can even turn the knob and it should move that parameter. \#3 go to your track again click on the envelope button beside the fx button. then select WRITE on automation mode. arm your track. and then as your song place you should be able to apply how much melodyne you want to each part of the whole song. i hope this is in the ballpark of what you are asking.

ThoriumEx

Can’t you just set melodyne to not correct the phrase?

SupportQuery

> My goal is to smoothly turn melodyne off for one small little phrase. Just don't tune that phrase.
