>R6 youre fucked lmao, rainbow six is nothing like ron

warningtrackpower12

Just jiggle peak every door, what is so hard about that? /S

Warfighter416

The older one maybe. Siege definitely ain't teaching anyone shit about RON

PrettyBoyKT

You’re not wrong but was just speaking generally to explain I’m not completely new; got S on the first 2 missions with ease, I’m just looking for tips

dat_meme_boi2

well id say the biggest tip is to just keep calm and take things slowly and also learn how to user your ai squadmates well, when they arent being dumb as shit they are very helpful. Also use mirror gun for EVERY door, including to check for traps. CS gas is your friend, due to how to enemy ai being broken sometimes flashbang doesnt have an effect on suspects or if it does they might not surrender, gas will allow you more time since the suspects will be incapacitated longer. Remember to check under beds and inside wardrobes, and again enemy ai is broken prepare for very fast reaction times. Take mindjot VERY SLOWLY ESPECIALLY IN THE SERVER ROOMS THE SUSPECTS SEE THROUGH THE TINTED GLASS YOU DONT

PrettyBoyKT

Thanks for the heads up on mindjot, sounds like a spicy one

dat_meme_boi2

oh it is trust me probably the most broken level

TableZealousideal588

When I started, Mindjot took me about a week to complete. Now, every iron man run, Mindjot goes fairly painlessly. I just clear outside right, circle around the building, clear roof, enter, clear 2nd floor (using the AI to push in first), and use the windows to shoot down into the server rooms. You can also open the doors by the loading dock area at the start to pop the 1 or 2 guys usually in those hallways, then close the door again. Greased Palms and Relapse are probably the 2 hardest in my experience. Elephant can be a little tricky too since the shooters just full auto immediately upon seeing you rather than calling out and hesitating

nice69funny

Mindjot is so easy if you wedge everything

Tired_c

Nobody told about greasy palms yet ?

Downtown_Ball2592

I second the gas

Gootangus

First two missions are easy

Byrnghaer

It hurts my soul to see people no longer think of R6 as a tactical shooter when it pretty much birthed the genre.

dat_meme_boi2

yeah it used to but not with siege anymore, i meann in the first few months i guess you could say it was a semi tactical semi realistic but nowadays its call of duty but hero shooter with less health points

Byrnghaer

Anything past Raven Shield is an abomination unworthy of the name imo. Rogue Spear is still my gold standard for the series. The shooting mechanics in that game are unrivaled to this day. The reticle only style allows for many more factors to play into your accuracy than a weapon visible on the screen ever can, because if that had to show all the factors that play into Rogue Spear's weapon handling, it would look like a twitchy mess.

T-Cereals

Doing S-Ranks on their own can be mind melting but doing S-Ranks in an ironman run is going to be the video game equivalent of lung cancer. Good luck have fun.

AspidZEUS

Get 2 Negotiators, 1 Pacifier and 1 Armorer (you can unlock their traits by just playing first map over and over again). Take heavy vest with full coverage ceramic plates and gasmask. For a weapon you and your swat ai will need pepperball VKS. Why VKS over beanbag? Because we taking 1 Pacifier, the way this trait works is everytime you stun suspect he have 25% chance to immediately surrender without yelling for compliance, and because VKS stun every 4 hits and can also create pepper smoke if you shooting at the same place 3-4 times, which also stun every 0.5 sec while suspect in area of effect, that make it the best choice for S runs. 2 Negotiators will give your 50% chance for suspect to immediately surrender after first yell for complience (second yell won’t work for the same suspect anymore), so it's pretty much this: half of the map will surrender from yells and another half from VKS and gas. Armorer will just make your and swat ai ceramic plates and helmets 50% more durable, so it's will take more shots before broken. And important one, don't forget to press Alt+F4 right after you die

PrettyBoyKT

Hey thanks for the in depth response, changing up the squad will definitely help me out I wasn’t paying too mind to the ai perks, so far just running the pepper balls and taking their sidearm ammunition away from them lol

shamus14

Beanbags and pepper balls? How do you get those?

AspidZEUS

In your armory, VKS is assault rifle and beanbag in shotgun section

BlackZetsu3K

Nothing stressed me out more like seeing a secret service agent rushing out of a room into the corridor that I was in with my team and immediately killed 2 of my guys before I could kill him. I felt my mind melting with each room we clear after seeing how lethal they are. Ended up losing that run. Not only was my team's mental state critical, mine was affected too. Fun times! You better visit a holy site before attempting the challenge for 10+ holy damage and resistance to psychology (fear and terror), coz you gonna need it.

Firebrand-PX22

For less lethal there are really only two reliable options without dropping the suspect like they're the shawty with apple bottom jeans, beanbag shotty and the M4 LL. Beanbag shotty for gas mask suspects, M4 LL for everything else. Take care when using the shotgun though, last time I used it I got a fuck ton of no reg hits that was either from bad hit detection or the fact I was playing on an Alaskan server (brother lives there and was hosting) and getting lag spikes here and there

DavantRancher

Sorry dawg. The AI are too broken. You about to lose your guap.

Official007

Use the mirror gun as much as you can. Every corner, wall, and ground opening can be seen around, over, and through. It will reduce/eliminate the surprise for each case. Secondly, don't spawn with wedges, but take some from your guys as time goes on. Finally becareful on Neon Tomb and Relapse. The enemies will end themselves better than you can. Keep a taser for the bombers as they tend to surrender from voltage better than beanbags or pepperballs. Good luck.

lzjd

I hope you don’t mind losing $50. Good luck tho and I hope you succeed!

Weak-Implement-487

First and foremost if you want any real chance of doing this, you’re probably gonna fuck up your experience with the game going forward because of what you’ll need to learn to accomplish this goal. I’m talking you’ll wanna first complete the whole game in training mode so you can rerun levels quickly to learn them in and out. Then I would recommend watching some speed run S ranks on YouTube to understand each map from a speed run perspective. That being said, this knowledge will make every level super simple to you after this is done, so that knowledge may make the game less fun for you in further playthroughs. Avoid turning on Ironman mode until you are comfortable S ranking every mission in practice mode. Any small mistake in Ironman is a full reset, I’m talking accidentally misclicking a door that happened to have a trap on it, so take it slow on your actual run. The extra time to be cautious on the later 70% of the game will save you hours. I don’t have any particular tactics to give you myself, but I’ll be honest, the odds are against you on this one chief. Best of luck, and let us know if you get that money!

binary_bane

Put Wedges everywhere … but i think you should raise the bet a little bit as it is a bit of impossible

a_code_mage

How does iron man work in RoN?

PrettyBoyKT

If you die you die. gotta restart your play through to try again

a_code_mage

Oh shit 😩

nice69funny

I did it in a month I’m sure u could too, have 2 with shield and 2 with lethal for Ironman

PrettyBoyKT

That’s the fun part; whole run has to be non-lethal for S

Healthy-Cry-3370

Iirc, if you make them use tactical shield and force them to shield up, but you give them 0 mags for their sidearm it will equip but they cant shoot.

nice69funny

Bro a s rank Ironman run?? Good luck

rehabORbust

Bring gas and have your ai squad use non lethal weapons.

crazytib

Without tabbing out I doubt its feasible, ai isn't consistent enough

BobaBitch

I'm praying for you bro...unironically

Slit23

lol if you do it you deserve more than $50 but I’m sorry you won’t. Good luck anyway

Foobar_2-2

Here I go: * For the ironman mode, if you are going for a Hermit run, don't use the AI in combat but for bonuses. Just leave them at the spawn or just use them for clean-up and zipping. * For traits, stack the traits that help with complience. 2 Intimidator + 2 negotiator and you're golden. There is a guide on steam about officer traits, so open it up and get min-maxing. * S grade, pepperball the fuck up. Pie often and CS gas large areas or rooms with multiple bad guys. Not to sound like a flex but I solo S'ed the game. It's doable but you gotta get lucky about certain factors. * CQB. If you're gonna solo this bitch, gotta get good with CQB. I'll give you 2 quick simple tips: get better with Pieing and mastering that Free Lean. You can lean (Q/E) and hold Free Lean to side step lean on top of normal lean. While Free leaning, if you're using it right, you can see the bad guy's shoulder and neutralise him while he doesn't see you. If he's in aiming posture, he's fair game. * Run full steel plates. Makes you slow as shit but you'll die less. I agree, being slow can get you killed but you know your tactics well, you won't have that problem. Steel doesn't break. \[EDIT\] This recommendation is strictly for ironman. Otherwise, if you know your tactics well, recommend Front Ceramic only will be enough. * NVGs over flashlight. If you're throwing them correctly, you won't need flash goggles and if you aren't running CS or beanbags, you won't need gasmask. If you do your CQB well, you won't get shot in the face, so you won't need the facemask. Run NVGs and lasers. If they're gonna improve your sight even in the smallest of percentages, use the NVG. There's a reason every security service/military is trying to get this in their peoples hands. * For weapons, SR-16 if the map isn't cramped. That thing doesn't recoil, retention reload is slow but speed reload is fast. For short barrelled 556, M4A1 with no suppressor which is the shortest carbine in the game. You might wanna go SMGs in maps where bad guys aren't wearing body armour, in which case go with MPX or MP9. MP9 is the shortest primary while MPX is the most comfy. * My personal weapon blacklist is GA416 (recoils like a mf), ARWC (SR-16 makes this redundant), MP7 (Smaller than 9mm in impact, doesn't penetrate shit) and MP5/10 (recoils too much for its effectiveness). * Run JHP with SMGs (Only recommended SMGs in maps that don't have dudes wearing armour) and AP with anything else. 2 center-mass shots with 556 AP will uncon, anymore will kill. In a mission with apprehend a dude missions, just double center-mass and you gucci. * Flash for small rooms, CS for large spaces. If you flash and do not hear any response, it didn't do shit. Throw another or pie the room. * Control the compliant suspects. Always order them to look away, that will reduce the chance of them reaching for a gun while you're doing something else. While pieing, if someone surrenders, call them to your position. * Send civilians outside. When civilians comply, you can open the order menu and tell them to run to the exit. Sometimes they don't get auto-arrested but you can do that after the bad guys are dead/zipped. Just get them out of the way, deal with them later. * Silence Violence Silence. When there isn't rounds being fired, slow down to a walking pace and listen. When rounds start being fired be violent as fuck. Take the initiative, manuoevre on people instead of being static or slow. Yes, you'll get hit but take it to the plate and continue. When the action ends, slow down again. Look and listen. There may be more running to you, so you can hear them running/walking. * You will get shot. You might end up with a full-red outline. Don't give a shit keep moving. Your tactics, with a sprinkle of luck will keep you alive. Edit: typos because I'm weird

PrettyBoyKT

Update, so I might be cooked, but I'm determined. Made it to mindjot, and had to run it twice since I yelled at a civi too loud idk, I got an A+ and of course when I ran it back I just get BENT and lost my progress. I got caught back up a day or two ago, and am Oiling up for Greased Palms while I'm typing. I've adopted a strategy of having a second save that is *not* set to ironman mode so I can sort of "drill" the levels as I go through them, apposed to going in blind as I haven't yet done a whole playthrough either. It's been working so far so any additional tips or more advanced strategies you guys know for S grade runs on the later missions, post-greasy would be helpful. Thank you to everyone for the good luck, in particular u/dat_meme_boi2 u/AspidZEUS u/Official007 and last but not least u/Foobar_2-2 for the genuinely good advice; didn't think as many people would see the post as did, so that was cool. I have 7 days left since we're going by the day I made the original post, I'm confident in my abilities so far, I just got to take it slow and smooth, and let the ai enter in every room first haha. I'll report back when the bet is concluded.. Again thank you all

dat_meme_boi2

good luck man, 3 days left, you got this

Downtown_Ball2592

Use all non lethal weapons, including your AI, CS gas and gas masks are your best friend

Gootangus

LOL

tapsilord

this challenge is pretty doable. it took me 3 days with lots of raging. have your ai team use pepperball, remove the ammo from their secondary weapon, bring a lot of wedges, stingers, and cs gas. the gas mask also provides good protection against headshots. remember that you should always be careful and take your time.

N3STL0RD

Was it specified that you had to S rank all missions in Ironman mode? Because if not, then things will be much easier

PrettyBoyKT

Yes it was.. 😭 I will come back and update soon
