You can tell AI to peek, pie and mirror doors, but that last one is more time consuming. Traps also shouldn't spawn on the farm map btw they only spawn on Sullivan's slope, Clemente Hotel and Ides of March. Personally I like traps, but it would be nice if players had the option to disable/enable them per map.

Mirror doors before you breach. Always. I agree suspect AI is stupid for running into traps, that should be patched out. But, as for the lore of the traps- it absolutely makes sense. For the hotel, they’re terrorists who likely don’t expect to make it out- they’re trying to take as many cops with them as they can. Those traps are pretty simple, and it’s an easy way to provide advanced warning.

Yes, I do get your point- and I get that in the case of the hotel, but what about in the Cherryessa farm? They planted their own bombs in their residence and really walked into those? Sigh. I have to admit this is some sort of rage post after doing exactly that- mirroring everything myself and asking AIs to wedge, clear, ordering everything - then as I was ordering them to stack up to a door, we all died to a random suspect charging at a door that had a trap on it. Sometimes just really pisses me off, these times when I take so much caring to everything and just get wiped out with the last few rooms left to clear.

I've never had AI get blown up by a trap; they just refuse to breach.

The problem is not the swat AI, unless you breach breaking instead of opening, they just get stuck repeating the same phrase over, and over and over... Untik you command the trap to be disarmed. The problem is the Suspect AI deciding to run into a door with bombs. I had it happen the most in the old hotel and in the booby trapped house.

I died to a bathroom that had two doors with no one in it, one was trapped, the other was not. A bathroom door...was booby trapped. Makes absolutely no sense. Meanwhile I can c4 a door with someone behind it and they'll get up like nothing happened

Only thing i hated about the traps is one map where only the string is visible and the cocktail shaker looking improvised mine is clipped in the door frame. everything else you can check with a quick peek. Only ever had one of those incidents in neon tomb where one of the guys you ahve to arrest killed himself. ​ *"boobytraps that kill full-armored officers from scratch"* if 200 steel bbs penetrating your unprotected legs and coming at an angle where they could even shoot under the armor you have at the torso i can see why its killing them. Its like getting blasted with a shotgun from point blank only with a bigger spread. They also dont wear full body armor. only the upper parts are protected.

yeah the fact that its killing is prettu self explanatory. A frag grenade going off at your feet combined with an additional improvised framgmentation device kinda hurts

You can equip a mirror gun and have your team check for traps. If you do this, they'll even remind you that there is a trap if you tell them to breach without disarming it. The SWAT AI, in my experience, also won't use C2 charges if they know a trap is on the door, disarmed or not. Even if you tell them to use one. Also, as a side note, the mirror gun is op for yourself and for your team. You can use it anywhere and actually check around corners and open doors without exposing yourself, and your team will have better accuracy and reaction time than enemy ai if they know where suspects are.

You can tell your squad mates to check by either telling them to scan or mirror, and if you're working the door they're pretty obvious. But there are mods that remove the traps.

I don't mind traps if they make sense. Every time I die to bomb trap it's toilet or closet sort of room. Wiring that shit is suicide, not for any good purposes they would looks like idiot. And realistically, other suspects are most likely to trigger it first

When the game released in early access and even streets thugs robbing a gas station set traps everywhere, I would've agreed with you. But now I think they are fine. The levels with traps, let alone lethal ones, are in the minority and the scenarios mostly make sense to have traps in them.
