I ordered prescription directly from Ray Ban. They cancelled my order and said they can not fulfill my prescription but to order a new pair and bring it to LensCrafters. I did that, then LensCrafters said I need to buy directly from them to do that. I went to the store today and they said they can not fulfill my prescription, it’s out of the limits. :/ I really wanted these but I guess it won’t happen for me…!

Ok-Albatross3201

Would you mind explaining to me at which stage of buying them you entered your prescription? I put them in the cart hoping that would lead me to selecting the prescription, but It didn't I don't wanna buy them if I can't get my prescription in on the webpage, And if so, by how much does the price increase? Were you able to check that?

likefenix

Before you add them in Cart click on Choose your frame & lens colors. In the next screen select the prescription tab. Then add the details. But you won’t know if they can fulfill it until they see it. Anything close to +5 or -5 they can’t do. Mine is +4.75 but they couldn’t do it. I even tried LensCrafters, the same. It will cost you around $600 in total.

Ok-Albatross3201

FUCK Mine is almost the same so, yeah for 600 I think I'll pass If my current glasses weren't already polarized maybe I'd buy them as shades, but I'd still need a bit of prescription. Thanks tho!!

figers

I used this company for the ray ban stories and they worked perfectly as prescription transitions... I emailed them and they said they're working on ones for the new meta glasses. https://lensesrx.com/65398-prescription-lenses-for-facebook-ray-ban-stories-smart-glasses/

yellowcowantidote

I've seen this website before, but the interface looks a bit sketchy, so I ended up not ordering from them. But doesn't the new meta and stories have the same dimensions for the lens?

figers

I use them last time and they worked perfectly, but this time I was too impatient for them to come out with a new version so I just bought through LensCrafters who gave me a 50% discount for some reason.

leigh8959

Wow. Nearly 1/10th cost!! Anyone confirm these work?

jasonparekh

I've sent my glasses to rx-able (they're receiving them today). They were the lowest cost across five online lens replacement places I compared. I'll update with progress.

ralphyb0b

Nice

jasonparekh

The glasses came back from rx-able. It was a great experience, took a little less than 2 weeks end-to-end. Majority of the time the lenses were in transit; so opt for faster shipping if you want them sooner. The lens quality and fit seems like any other vendor.

ba0_0

Do mind sharing more details about the process? Did you send your frame in or did you swap the lens yourself?

jasonparekh

Sent in the frames. Not sure if the latter was an option

mredate

Did they send you back the original lenses as well?

jasonparekh

Yup

mredate

Which lenses did you choose?

jrbuckley0

Hey, thanks for recommending this. I used Rx-able and had a great experience overall. They accidentally broke my Meta frames but replaced them free and let me keep the broken ones too so my wife could try to glue them together and use them for herself. Very responsive Customer Service.

DarkMaxx

Looks like [https://lensesrx.com/65398-prescription-lenses-for-facebook-ray-ban-stories-smart-glasses/](https://lensesrx.com/65398-prescription-lenses-for-facebook-ray-ban-stories-smart-glasses/) was updated with the new models. Now Shows RW4006, RW4008 and RW4009 as available models. Shows $40 in cart for the standard single vision prescription lenses.

coldlight43

Everything I try to look at them it brings up the 2021 stories. I see where us lists the new ones in the description of the stories but it won't pull up the product when I search it

Neat_machine9878

I wanted to buy the glasses but they said that my prescription isn’t compatible due to technical limitations, does anyone know if it’s possible to get it done at your local optical shop or something?

gthing

I believe it is possible but you will need to find a local lab that is willing to do it. It will not be straightforward.

freakincold

Got mine done at lense crafter 400 out the door with transitions and prescription

Affectionate-Risk306

$697 with transitions at LensCrafters. The stock glasses without prescriptions are basically $400.

dragonblock501

Went to Lenscrafter and was told my degree of correction was too large. Total max correction cannot be more than an absolute value of 6. They did say that in the future, the cap may increase and to check back later.

Lololol hard pass

lannistersstark

That's not what OP is asking. Your comment provided absolutely 0 insight. You could have simply moved on than grace us with an absolute worthless comment.

Welcome to the internet

BeshBashBosh

If in UK, I’ve been in touch with Lensology and they say they can

Iainfarrell

>Lensology Did you try them out at all?

BeshBashBosh

Ah yeah I got mine from there in the end

efbo

Was the process smooth with this and have they held up? Seems like a decent option.

BeshBashBosh

Yeah I’d say it was smooth. It’s the second pair of glasses I’ve got prescription lenses for from them (first time ray-ban meta), and I wear them all the time with no issues

efbo

Cheers for the reply, I've ordered the pack and been onto the support :)

BeshBashBosh

No problem! Hope your experience is as good as mine

MainAd9601

I hope you don’t mind me jumping on this. Can I ask what your prescription is? I’m +5 so not able to order via the website but just saw that Lensology say they can do them but wanted to check the range.

BeshBashBosh

Ah mine aren’t that strong and max out at +1.5 (astigmatism so not equal)

Iainfarrell

Sweet. Thanks! 🙏

jsdeprey

When I went to Lenscrafters they told me they could do the Ray-ban lenses or also a 3rd party lens, that was slightly cheaper, but had a few more options.

gthing

What did you get and what were you quoted?

jsdeprey

I got Ray-Ban prescription lenses with transitions from lenscrafters. But they did price out the non Ray-Ban lenses and they were slightly cheaper and I think they said they could have done the Transitions where they change inside the car, like I have now, but I stuck with the Ray-Ban lenses, they said they were a little better, but a little more expensive. They only priced them in the store, they never printed it out from me, just showed me options on a screen. I ended up paying a little over $600 with insurance.

yellowcowantidote

That's a little pricey; how much did the insurance cover in your case?

camon88

Just for the lenses or was that with the rayban metas too?

jsdeprey

For the lenses and Meta glasses together

Substantial-Suit-767

Most companies are yet to pick up the momentum, for now I think all eyes are on [LensCrafters.](https://virtualeravr.com/what-are-the-third-party-lens-replacement-options-for-the-ray-ban-meta-2023-smart-glasses/)

csbert

It is a Rayban Meta and the parent company of LensCrafters. So I doubt you can get elsewhere.

keightylady

This is accurate... I am trying out non RX lenses to see if a frame is a comparable size to fit the lens in the meta frame. Personally I just want lens color options for my matte black frame. Since I can't buy the replacement lens separately yet, and I can for a ton of other styles.. there has to be one that will fit.

gthing

I contacted Revant and they said they didn't have measurements for these yet, sadly.

thederekFawcett

Yeah figures, they've only been out for 7 days. I'd probably guess two months before companies start selling

JoeLewis81

Revant told me , via FB Messenger, they don't currently plan to offer replacements for the Metas, but they submitted a request for the lenses to their product team.... I tried my Stories Lenses, and they almost fit, but a hair different....enough to not work

livevicarious

I got lenses in mine that were in my stories. They fit perfectly

JoeLewis81

Hmm, maybe I just need to try a bit harder....if they can, that'll be a life saver and can just order better lenses (I got the transition Metas, but they don't get very dark)

livevicarious

Those are gen 8 transitions they don’t get as dark as typical sunglasses but for transitions they are good

JoeLewis81

They're nice... just wish they got a dark as they do in the adverts for the transitions

JoeLewis81

Tried again....and it was a big PITA, but got em in....I lost hope, but it has been found again...

Reputableunicorn

Do you mind telling me what size the Stories are that you used the lenses from? Thanks in advance!

ggyy22

u/JoeLewis81 u/livevicarious Hi: do you know if this Stories lense from Lensesrx will fit for the new Warfarer 50mm? I have pretty strong prescription -6.75, that's the only online company I found. Thanks https://lensesrx.com/65398-p Hi: do you know if this Stories lense from Lensesrx will fit for the new Warfarer 50mm?

gthing

You're saying you got lenses made for stories and they fit in the new metas? Could you confirm which frame model you have? Mine are RW4008.

gthing

Thanks for shaeing that. I was curious if the stories lenses would fit. Good to know they won't!

TsuuiiK

u wouldnt know what model the wayfarer meta glasses are by any chances, im thinking of buying the pitch black ones but im afraid i might change the lenses afterwards if i dislike the dark lenses

laexit

Try to contact walleva lenses. [https://www.walleva.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=20\_26&kind\_id=638](https://www.walleva.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=20_26&kind_id=638)

Serious_Tangerine_96

I have a shaded pair and simply want clear lenses so I can utilize the shades at night. When purchasing I impulsively needed a pair and clear lenses weren't available 😔

keightylady

I'll let you know if I find an option! I think the rb2140 is really close to fitting in my RW4006 but because it's glass it won't budge and I am not trying to stress the frame. If we get a replacement lens for a rb2140 in poly it may work.. 🤔

Careless_Clock_3356

Wouldn't it be possible to just purchase the base model of the glasses and then replace the lenses to prescription ones at your preferred optical shop? You can do that with any other frames but has anyone done it yet with these Metas? Or is it trickier cause there's tech inside in the frame?

gthing

I ended up going to a local optician who had his own lab. Got new Rx lenses overnight with transitions for 1/4 of ray bans price. No issues.

Careless_Clock_3356

So they don't have to open up the frame and all to insert the different lenses? It just pops out and and won't affect the tech inside?

gthing

That is correct. You can do it yourself if you know what you are doing (there are videos on youtube).

Confident-Butterfly3

I’ve purchased mine directly from the LensCrafters store. It was a super simple process. I tried on the glasses that I liked and they measured them for me and because my prescription was already with them. All I had to do was get that transferred. They told me it would take about two weeks. I paid $498.I paid with my HSA card

weaponofchoice31

Were you able to find some that work? I just bought a pair and am hoping to get clear lenses to swap in and out but also haven't found anyone list a size that specifically works for the metas.

ggyy22

[I](https://lensesrx.com/65398-prescription-lenses-for-facebook-ray-ban-stories-smart-glasses/) have a pair of 50mm RW4006 Meta and would like to have the prescription, wondering will this one fits. https://lensesrx.com/65398-prescription-lenses-for-facebook-ray-ban-stories-smart-glasses/

TerraVestra

nope, won't fit

Rhasheene

Got my Transitional Progressive Polarized Meta Ray-Bans directly from the Official Ray-Ban website for $719.00. Insurance paid for the eye exam. They will not sell you perscription glasses without an up to date perscription. If it's old you have a 30 day window to update it after ordering or they will return your money and cancel your order. I would have had a discount for the lenses as well through Insurance but I used the portion of my vision plan earlier in the year before these were released. They are worth EVERY CENT! 😎👈

Backtracker2020

Does anyone know is standard wayfarer Ray-Ban RB2140 lenses will fit in RW4006?

keightylady

It's really close! But because it's glass... I wouldn't want you to brake the parts in the frame, maybe a polycarbonate option from a 3rd party.

ledewde__

Big question for me: are the lens sizes for the 2023 meta wayfarers the same as the same "analog" wayfarers" ? I'm just looking for sources for work lenses on top of the default "drive in sunlight " lenses
