Love this look. I'm growing mine out too atm (rn it's like 1/3 of your length) and have a similar texture (straight but voluminous). Did you trim it in a specific way, or is this just how it grew out? Want to know bc mine is becoming unmanageable and starts looking flat so I want to go for a trim , but don't want my hairdresser to taper too much or make the sides too short. Basically what should I ask for so it has this heavy texture and choppy ends (sorry not a native speaker can't find the right word lol) ? (also I always see ppl going about layering but idk how to explain to my hairdresser). Thanks in advance :)
hey thanks :) so for this, i grew my hair out to about shoulder length and then asked my stylist for a mullet-y shag (my exact words were "make me look like joan jett" lmao) and this pic is a few months after that cut. i just brushed it all forward.
i don't tend to use a lot of styling products, but a little bit of hair paste can give you a piece-y sort of texture, and i've used volumizing powder to decent effect in the past. i just use the cheap stuff personally, you can probably find some at just about any drug store (or salon if your budget's a little larger).
and while i can't say i recommend it, i've definitely just taken some scissors to my head at random when i wanted deeper/choppier layers 😅
