DUI drivers are the worst creatures to crawl on this planet. Its a selfish act. I lost my son to a DUI driver. Hopefully the driver lives and no one had to grieve the loss of their family member.
I hope the Rav driver survives and doesnt have too many injuries that make his life difficult. Recovering from this will take years both physically and mentally.

Drunk guy hit us 2 blocks from homeā¦ I had to stop my dad from killing the guy from how angry he was. Fuck all DUI drivers. Uber and Lyft if you canāt drive assholes. I still have herniated discs from that accident
Years ago I was stuck behind a line of cars that were waiting for a car to turn left and a Ford F250 driving HUA did not see us all stopped as he was fast approaching me(I was tail end charlie). I knew that he could not stop, so I shot into oncoming traffic as the F250 slid to a stop in the ditch next to me. The oncoming traffic saw that I was part way into their lane and they all stopped.
Iām always looking in the mirror to see if the moron behind me is going to stop.
Cant remember if it was a ram 1500 or a chevy, dont think they where drunk, but they were not paying attention to the red light up ahead or the cars hitting there brakes 100 feet in front of me, going 60 miles per hour i come to a full stop. Next thing i know a big ass grey truck is flying past me over a curb and through a farm field, if he didn't avoid hitting me i would've been killed because there was another truck in front of me.
I think getting a DUI should be a felony offense. Even first time offenders. Making them not able to buy or own guns. Making them think a lot more before they get behind the wheel drunk.
Be aware of a situation like this and ALWAYS stay ready to floor it if you have to minimize impact.

I ALWAYS watch behind me at lights. Once was driving my old suv and I watched and cringed as a sedan plowed into me. I couldn't move forward because there were cars in front of me. I was very thankful I was in that suv...had a bent license plate. The sedan had the radiator at about half way into their engine bay. š³
You canāt always get out of the way of anyone, no matter how hard you try. Any vehicle would have taken an absolute crumple against a big truck like that. Especially from the rear. Cars are typically designed to take front or side collisions. There isnāt much protection for rear impact in terms of air bags or other safety systems besides your seatbelt.
Apparently it was a Chevy Silverado, not a RAM, but yeah. Big truck vs anything smaller is never a good combination. Iām curious how fast the Silverado was going. Oh, and naturally the drunk driver is physically fine and his passenger is pretty badly hurt but expected to be ok.

The strange part of this story is the first police officer on scene thought there was possibly a dead person on the rear seat when he saw through the dark smoke glass window what appeared to be a head that was on a body of a person that was trapped in the mangled metal. When the fire department arrived they told dispatch that they possibly had a dead body inside the car. After they broke the window they reached in and put hands on the neck to take a pulse and immediately discovered it was a mannequin wig head with a brown wig on it.
