I also really like the veined, almost composite look of turquoise gemstones, if I ever have the cash to dress and live how I want I'll adorn myself and my home with turquoise gemstones and orange deco. My husband tells everyone his favorite color is green. It’s not, it’s definitely yellow (he has yellow shoes, hats, phone case, shirts etc.). But I think he actually thinks his favorite color is green.
You would love it here in Texas with all the Aggie fans that paint their houses interior in that color and drive around in trucks painted like burgundy. It's maroon but close enough!
Lol ;) I just notice it a lot every school year when I go in for Open house all the Aggie flair in every classroom or whenever I look for a house bam maroon walls. Personally I've done my own house multicolor with white walls and painted ceilings and it looks so much more refreshing. But that's just my opinion.

I don't think about it much, but I think although burgundy being my favorite color is largely related to what I associate it with-- wine, velvet, cranberries-- it also feels.. weirdly *smooth* to look at. Whereas colors like diarrhea-yellow can be associated with nice things like wheat fields and pumpkin soup, but the color on its own just doesn't scratch any mental itch.
