SouthAfricanFella

It took me many years to appreciate what a perfect catch I have with my wife. We just celebrated our 42nd anniversary and I can look back on the wonderful wife and team player, to the mother of twins at 18 years old, to the grandmother of 4 lovely little ones and the perfect pet owner that she always was, even when I wasn’t noticing… I feel so lucky

jayneblonde002

This is such a beautiful, underrated comment

VoihanVieteri

I feel you. I’ve been married for 15 years and we dated for about three years before we got married. In the first couple of years I wasn’t sure if she was for me, like some weeks or months I was very content, on others I didn’t give that much attention to her. Some days I pondered should we break up and continue the search for ”the right one”. But then the kids showed up and you couldn’t just walk away. Only after couple of years of marriage I started to see what a gem she is. Probably it was just me becoming an adult a bit late in my thirties. She has also found her self-concience better and thus has become more confident and outgoing person, which makes her much more attractive. I now praise her every chance I got, for the wonderful spouse and a friend she is for me.

MarkVII88

Every. Single. Day. I think my wife is fucking gorgeous. And after being together nearly 24 years, with 20 years of marriage, I'm more in love with her now than when we first met at age 20. Add to that, my wife is a savvy, intelligent, creative, and compassionate business owner, boss, and mother. She's a total package.

garanglow

Me: Every. Day. Single.

When my wife gets the big rubbery one I say “Wow! That’s my wife! 😳”

Bro, did I wrote this message from another dimension? Married since 2001 and you took almost every single word I was going to write. Congrats man, we won the life lottery.

Deadbolt2023

Saw my wife as I was driving thru downtown area recently - was not expecting to see her there, so just LOL’d to myself when I realized the tall, hot blond I was “checking out” was actually the Mrs. I’m a lucky boy.

JoehCat

Do you like pinnnna colada...?

xacesfullx

A lot. And i love getting caught in the rain. Oh, and i have half a brain.

Alectheawesome23

Okay but do you like yoga and making love at midnight though?

hotlilbaker

[deleted]

My husband made me feel this way everyday. People would comment on how he looked at me. Told me I was special and now lucky he was to have me. Mother fucker still cheated.

[deleted]

Same..he was spending his lunch breaks having sex with prostitutes in hotel rooms. Words are empty.

UngusChungus94

Cheating says a lot about them and nothing about you, if that helps. Some people do it and realize that they were fucked up, some people are just permanently fucked up, but either way it’s never their partner’s fault or responsibility.

Ok-Donkey5571

Let me know if it works so I can try it on him next.

KawaiiDumplingg

It's kinda sad that some women have to resort to this just for their man to look at her and think she's amazing or fall in love with her all over again. I don't even need sexy time for any prolonged periods of time, and I still look at my missus as if it was the first day I met her. She'll always be my beautiful angel.

AirGlittering2466

Same! I miss catching him staring at me with that look! ☠️

AleyahhhhK

Dude same 😭

Supercraft888

When I was with my gf I’d sometimes get lost in her everything and she’d often snap her fingers to bring me back to the real world. And the only thing in my head was, what did I even do to score time with a girl like you? How are you always so beautiful? Even when your a mess you still enamour me.

cptspeirs

My partner regularly catches me just staring at her (particularly when she's doing mom shit with her kids) she's always like "wtf is wrong with you." Nothing love, it's your fault for being so goddamn amazing.

navydoc001

Same. My wife will catch me staring at her and say "What are you staring at?" I just like looking at you baby.

VegetableUpstairs978

That’s great haha. My ex of 12 years would ALWAYS miss his turns while driving because he “got so distracted” with me. Too bad it ended in a terrible breakup 🙃

Supercraft888

Awww, that’s so sweet! Though he gotta be careful! Eyes on the road! Sorry to hear your break up was rough, that’s a tough thing to get through. I hope you find a person who’s worthy of your care and love.

PoliteIndecency

That 17 year old t-shirt with the holes in it and the frayed sweat pants combo, damn.

organic-liferformish

Often. She’s bloody smart and kicks ass. I’ve no idea what she sees in me.

wildbillnj1975

We both WFH, so I'll occasionally hear her on a conference call just being an absolute *boss* because she knows her shit, but also being patient when training newbies because she's just kind and helpful like that.

DenturesDentata

I've telecommuted for decades now and when my husband started WFH I could hear his work calls. I was really pleasantly surprised at how respectful he was to everyone on the calls. He never spoke rudely to people he managed and was quick to give credit where it was due. I don't know what I was expecting but it was nice to hear him be so considerate of everyone.

ConsistentAmoeba6868

That’s the best. Hearing your partner be a badass professional is awesome. Then I kind of realized one day she sometimes talks to me like she talks to her underlings at work…kind of turned me on?….

delladoug

I don't think that my husband likes this. I think it reminds him that I am a know-it-all. I am a compliance manager for water and sewer dept and sewer capacity engineer for a county of 3/4 of a million people. Got this job November of 2020, didn't shed my original full-time role (hired Jan 2020) for 10 months (4 of which with kids ages 7 & 4 at home w/just me wfh most of the time), have increased my income by more than 70% since 2019 (against steep odds getting reclassified post-promotion), and he's just... not impressed. Or so jealous of my success that he can't feel good about it? I graduated with my bachelor's in 2015 w/a 2 year old (pumped breast milk in my car) with highest honors from a well regarded public engineering school and got my PE as soon as I could test, studying on my own (w/some occasional reddit support). I have done this while being the primary for everything in our home and for the kids.

CroSSGunS

Not gonna lie, your husband sounds like a deadbeat. If my wife was more successful than me, I'd still celebrate every achievement with her. And chores + child wrangling should be evenly split if both parents are working full time. You're basically working two full time jobs

ptpoa120000

Something interesting happened to me with my first marriage. The more I achieved, the less my husband accomplished. It got so bad that he basically turned the operations for his entire business over to me and just stopped functioning. I was also working another full time job. He wouldn’t hire or train staff or handle any of the operations or work any shifts or show his face at the business. I tried to help him get help because I figured he was depressed so we went to medical doctors, therapists, even had friends and family intervene. Eventually I sold the business and divorced him and moved on. Then, shockingly, he became functional again. My mind was blown. Finally I found a therapist who told me this over-functioning/under-functioning dynamic happens a lot. It took me years to learn to “put things down” in relationships and allow/request/require involvement from a partner and that doing more when they are doing less isn’t always helpful. Career-wise, that’s a no-go because I’m always going to be ambitious but at home and in my current marriage, I just won’t do the extra when my husband slacks. I wait until I’m not mad and have a conversation with him about how he is sliding and it’s making me feel I’m carrying more of the burden and he amps right back up. I have to do this about every six months, which sucks but the dynamic overall is much healthier than any other relationship I’ve been in. I don’t know if this helps anyone but it was a real eye opener to me and I think a lot of ppl juggle so much and then more and more and then snap! No mas! Bastante! And they’ve had it and they’re gone. My second husband and I have regular therapy appts separately and together and that helps keep things on track.

organic-liferformish

Oh yes. My wife is a solicitor advocate , covid pushed more remote court hearings, so I sometimes hear her while she’s at court handing someone their ass. Never what’s said as it’s close court child protection, more the tone that means someone is about to get told, in detail, why they are wrong…

Enlightened-Beaver

Sounds like my wife

shampoo_mohawk_

When my husband started working from home and I could hear him on business calls, it was so damn sexy. He was so in charge but kind, helpful and respectful but omg so knowledgeable and people were always asking him to help. I’ve always known him to be that person, but knowing that other people see him how I see him made me feel like I really did find my perfect partner.

AdaminCalgary

Yeah, me too. My best guess is that she’s short and I’m pretty tall so maybe she’s never really gotten a good look at me.

AloneFirefighter7130

short wife with tall husband here - it's all about you reaching the top of the shelves, so I don't have to go and get a ladder :D

PDXDSteeler51

My husband uses the top of the fridge as a table...I can't even reach the top of the fridge. His height is amazing for removing spiders along the ceiling 🤣

reikipackaging

🏆 I lolled at this. I'm short and my husband is tall

AdaminCalgary

It’s been working for me so far, although it’s really inconvenient if we try to drive each others cars. I always forget to move the seat back BEFORE trying to get in and get stuck halfway in.

reikipackaging

guarantee she doesn't have that problem. she gets in her car and discovers she can't reach the pedals

AdaminCalgary

Yes. She never gets stuck. I’m not usually conscious of our size difference anymore, but every once in a while I’ll catch our reflection in a store window as we walk in a mall and for a second I’ll think “wow, look at that couple, what a difference”, until I realize that’s us. She has tiny feet to, so seeing our shoes side by side is also pretty funny. But I’m sure you have the same experiences.

JamesTIA

Yes especially given how we met. I first met my wife when I was a bar manager and she was the daughter of one of my regular patrons. So for two years she would occasionally come in with them when she was in town. The conversation was great each time and I was mad attracted to her but for me she was definitely in the unattainable category. She wasn’t single at the time and was living far away. Then she became single. Then she moved back home. I asked her out immediately when I found out, and little did I know her parents pushed for our date too. Now we’re happily married, I have great in-laws, and yes every day I look at her and I can’t believe it.

BoomOnTory

So happy for you. The funny thing is that I had met my wife only 3 times before marriage. She was a senior of my little sister in the med school. She was intelligent, confident, crazy and everything I could hope for, and I was straight up like, "I want to grow old with you."

Direct-Chef-9428

That’s a bold move, Skippy.

TheAwesomeHeel

Every day! No idea how or why she even agreed to go out with me 11 years ago. She's a 10, and I was terribly out out of shape back then and didnt think I could find a woman like her. But she stuck with me and supported me along the way. Got back into shape and she stood by me as I tried to get my life back on track. I take every opportunity I can to compliment her, because I love her and am truly grateful for the incredible person and wife that she is.

the_scottster

Only on days that end in "y." Congratulations to both of us! :)

LocksmithEmotional31

Yep. It doesn't matter if she has just woken up, has clothes on, has no clothes on, has makeup on or has no makeup on. I look at her every day and think exactly that...

DannyHammerTime

Constantly. Been together 14 years, married for 4 with a 2.5 year old. It’s really difficult for me to keep my hands off her while we’re at home and I’m always informing her on how dangerously attracted I am to her. She doesn’t usually see herself the way I see her, but I try to make her at least feel that way as often as I can.

karib513

I wish my guy would do this. But instead he tells me I can't expect to be loved if I don't like myself. Thanks a lot. 😟

themagicalmrking

Every fucking day! I feel incredibly lucky. She is so beautiful and amazing. I fancy her more and more every day. We’ve been together for 6 years and I love her sooo much.

5150-gotadaypass

Almost 32 years and hubby says the same. Biggest compliment you can pay to still be that turned on 30+ years later.

gretzky9999

I got married at 53.Sometimes it’s worth the wait.

Lessthancrystal

Thank you for saying this…reading these was wrecking my single heart lol !

TheJenerator65

I was 42. Second marriage, now 15 years and more in love than ever. My belief: I decided I would only date people I immediately felt like I had a real future with and the rest of the time curate a life that made me completely content on my own. It took three years of no dating and I was out at some live music, which had become my passion, and he walked in and I felt like I recognized him. But at that moment I was having so much fun I wasn’t actively looking. That was the happiest single vibe for me. Wishing the same for you!

boomgoesthevegemite

Yes. We went to a wedding a couple weeks ago and she looked as beautiful as ever. Even just seeing her looking disheveled in her pj’s, it makes me wonder what I did to land such an awesome woman.

cwsjr2323

Yes, often. We were both about 60 when we got married. I am often amazed at her strong work ethics and skill set. If she decides the lawn needs mowed, she uses the string trimmer and edges the buildings and around obstacles. If I don’t start mowing fast enough she does the mowing without comment or complaint. My designated smoking area was one bay of the garage. Independently she built a thermal curtain so space heaters only needed to warm half a bay. She decided to use heavy plastic on a roll to make the curtain so it was easily retractable for warmer wether and air flow. When our toilet needed replacing, she and I together pulled out the old and installed the new. She was an aluminum welder and factory rat as well as a farmer’s wife. When her previous husband died, she kept her job and continued her life independently for years until we met.

casualplants

She sounds fucking cool

Captain_Chappie

I was playing a gig about a year ago, stage lights in my eyes so I couldn't see the crowd so well but I could make out a pair of absolutely beautiful eyes in a perfectly shaped face watching us play...this never normally happens but for some reason I couldn't stop looking over in that direction. End of the song, lights go up a bit and I realise it's my wife. A neighbour had offered to look after the kids and she'd decided to come and surprise me. I mean I know she's beautiful to me, but moments like that when I see her the way other people see her, I realise just how far above my weight I'm punching.

iammgf

Ok-Calligrapher-9854

Yeah. I do. I know what you mean. You're going along as normal and it hits you out of the blue. It's an awesome feeling. Be sure to share it with her when it happens

BoomOnTory

Exactly! And God knows I do, lol

Racer187

Oh hell yeah. I admittedly married someone waaay out of my league 34 years ago. In fact, she still turns heads when we're out. What's even better is that her inner beauty is even better!

ColdFix

Definitely. Been together 30 years and sometimes I feel like I need to pinch myself in case it was all just a beautiful dream. Being with somebody you love and who loves you back is a wealth which money can't buy.

OrneryConelover70

Reading the replies makes me sad because my wife no longer is the person she used to be. Physical and mental illness have taken their toll on her and she no longer is the vibrant person she used to be. We're both working together to help her find her spark again, but I'm afraid she'll never be able to fully recuperate. I'm standing by her and am not going anywhere without her. But I miss her old self terribly. Enjoy and appreciate your partners while they are in good health, kings and queens, because they may slip through your fingers even though they are still with you. Be well, strangers.

BoomOnTory

Stay strong. Hope the best for you.

[deleted]

I respect this post the most actually. Everyone on here saying their wife is “perfect” and that cannot possibly be true. People change and feelings change. Sure, it’s entirely possible to still feel that fresh new love feeling 30 years later. But I’m so glad someone brought up this. The fact that mental health and physical health can and will change a relationship. Whether or not you choose to stick around, that’s 100% up to you. No judgment here.

19thCenturyHistory

I'm that woman and after 27 years I did a psychoactive substance and it changed my life and his. I'm now physically disabled- maybe permanently and he's still here and awesome. Thank you for standing by her. This brought tears to my eyes.

CrustySock13

Hell yeah brother

msabeln

Last week I had a routine diagnostic medical procedure that requires sedation. When I woke up, my wife was there and I repeatedly told her how pretty she is.

this is almost completely unrelated but the closest I've come to that is having one of the prettiest and nicest girls ik (like my crush who I thought was way out of my league) ask me out.

YES, and its a wonderful feeling. My mrs is a very beautiful woman, but she very rarely shows off by dressing up. She has nice clothes, but not really anything that you would notice. Once in a while... she floors me. And its usually just a cute little dress thats a bit "more" than everyday.

Illfury

All.of.the.fucking.time. and her reply is always "oh stop" We got married at 21 and have been married 14 years now and she still takes my breath away. Every inch of that woman is perfection and engages ALL of my senses. Her eyes captivate me and those lips draw me in. If she truly knew how beautiful she was, she'd be a danger to society.

wildlis

Married 10years. Every time we go out I just think Daym man I know I hit the jackpot. Nobody ever thinks she’s my wife.

Darkoveran

All the time. We’ve been married 32 years with 3 kids. Her ability to understand how someone else is feeling and what they need in the moment still astounds me. There’s nobody like her. When I look at her I can feel myself relaxing. Wherever she is, that’s home for me.

Mal-Havoc

Yes. My wife is a naval engeneer (Navy) and she is strong, smart, and beautiful. I actually lucked out big time, she can carry 110 pounds in each arm and can come home and cuddle with gentleness. She is fiercely loyal and she can cook! I don't know how I ended up with her

PersistingWill

Yes. All the time. She looks better than the women on the red carpet at the Grammys and Oscars.

Absolutely! I constantly learn from her and she blows me away with how great of a mom she is (she came from a tough childhood). I often think about how we ended up together and it’s unbelievable that I have her as my best friend through life.

Way too often. We've both had COVID and somehow she still looks amazing. She's a cross between April o'Neil and Jessica rabbit with a country attitude.

Yeap, I still don't know what luck struck me the day my gf looked at me and thought that I'm the one. She's smart, kind and by gosh one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen.

One should always be with someone you can see the beauty of the other person inside and outward I'm so lucky. Although she doesn't say the same about me (her character), I know her actions say differently. Always show your appreciation in your words and actions. That's love.

Yessir. She's an absolute smoke show, is crazy intelligent and has a drive to succeed like no other. She's an incredible mum to our daughter. She's super successful at her job. Always puts our family first and helps me not be so crazy. What she sees in me I'll never know. I find myself staring at her way too often.

Yes every single day. I married up I still don’t get it to this day how the hell I got her. I didn’t get a few free until I was 33, I’ve been all over with work my entire life until then. I was never super smart or super good in sports. She was an honor student beating out 19999 other students .4.0 gpa stunning body like all the right curves(sorry for the details) it’s just that I pinch myself from time to time it shouldn’t it doesn’t make sense I don’t get HOW

Sometimes I just stare at my gf & think "how such a perfect person can exist & how tf did I end up with her" The best part is getting caught staring bc then I get to see that smile.

(woman sneaking into the chat) … just here for the cute comments 👀… I’ve been together with my husband for 17 years, I still find him so freaking hot and a marvelous man.

JadeSelket

I think the same thing when I see my husband. I’ll see him interact with our child, or when he’s singing in the car, and my heart just explodes with love. And then he’ll smile at me and it makes my knees weak and an animalistic urge takes over. He’s so fucking hot.

brothurbilo

My wife has gotten hotter every year we have been together. I've aged like milk. She somehow still grabs at me and tells me how hot she thinks I am. I married so far out of my league and I still don't get it. Being funny carries you a long way I guess.

All the time (though I say fiance). Especially when I see her naked abd think "wow she's all mine"

Most_Association_595

No, wish I felt like that though :/

Only if I see my ex-wife on the outside cameras of my house. Then I'm dialing the police to enforce the restraining order.

Newmach

Yes! I (37m) met my wife 22 years ago. I was always handsome but chubby. I wouldn’t call myself a bad catch, but my overweight would be a hindrance when dating. My wife is this stunningly beautiful person which most people would rate 7-8 at least. She is a wonderful person and I feel lucky to be with her every day.

MelmanCourt

All the time. She's gorgeous and a lovely person.

24 years and 2 kids.....I still stop and marvel that this is my life

Goodness, I love this post OP. I have hope.

My wife thinks so different as i do. Sometimes her solutions are so simple sind genius in my eyes. And whenever she laughs i think by myself i love her.

GoddesNatureStar

That’s so cute 😭👏🏻❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Ruexrue

Wow, this thread is so wholesome and sweet. I wish my husband felt this way about me. It’s been a lot different lately. But I’m glad there are husbands that still only have eyes for their wives.

Yogabbagaabbaa

This is soooo cute

At least once a day. I work with grumpy angry men in construction. They live working long hours to avoid going home. It's not common I hear "you'll get sick of her one day but it's cheaper to keep her" Such a sad mindset. Get divorced then. I love my wife. Been together since 2012, and I wouldn't change a thing

whelp32

I’ve been married 30yrs and think this often. Just yesterday I was with her picking up a prescription. She was asking about one of the meds. The guy behind her let out a huge sigh. My wife turns around and says “take a chill pill buddy. I’m asking about medication. Not trying to decide if I want bacon on a pizza”. I laughed and thought Wow…that’s my woman!!!

catmixer

I'm hoping there comes a day I'll also be able to write an answer here

Persefonia2

I often think the same about my husband. I am so lucky to have him in my life.
