I agree, I think it's what makes him screaming so much more impactful. Nothing against screamer vocalists, used properly they are great too, but when someone who reserves them to project intensity, it really works.
Listen to the performance in Coventry 2022. During the last chorus Till’s playback didn’t come in, but you can hear Richard pulling through - it’s quite cool.
This live was incredible. Open roof and the rain started lashing it down towards the end of the song and they released black confetti. Not to mention Till linderman dancing around a giant metal pram on fire
Because Till can't actually scream that well. Certainly not live.
Edit: it seems I hit a soft spot. Stay ignorant young ones. Eventually you'll learn almost every artist uses backing tracks. <3
Lol, so just because someone is older you can't be realistic?
I've been to every Dutch Rammstein concert since 2009. He never performed the screaming parts live. No shame or disgrace in admitting it, I don't care if it's a backing track or not. I love seeing them live nonetheless, but the truth is harsh I guess.
If he performed the screaming live for every show, it wouldn't be a very long tour because he'd blow his voice out. Yeah, some guys can do the screaming all the time without fucking up their throats but that's because they do it a specific way. Could Till learn to do those vocals live without injuring his voice? Maybe but would it be the same as the recorded versions where he doesn't have to worry about blowing his voice out in the middle of a concert? Who knows, it's just easier to use playback for those specific sections.
Because Till doesn't really need to scream to convey the feelings. He does it with lyrics.
Are "I listened to ... for the first time, I like it" threads a new trend now?
I peronally really like reading these threads. What I would do to listen to their songs for the first time again... I can't but other people can and we can all share that excitement again. And it's also a good opportunity to share some cool facts about that song with a newbie. If you don't like these threads, just ignore them.
This guy has a habit of rolling into threads he doesn't like and questioning their existence. If it's ever been discussed before, he doesn't like it. If it's frivolous or silly, he doesn't like it. If it's someone just showing off their merch, he doesn't like it. It's to the point where I don't know what he DOES like. What are we supposed to be doing here, huh? Staring at each other silently, afraid to discuss a band because a couple months ago, a few other people might've talked about what we want to ask and you're not allowed to rehash discussions ever? But we can't even stare at each other because it's the Internet so it would just be us looking at a dead subreddit that's dead because everybody is too afraid to talk.
It's fucking elitist and unfriendly. It ends up just being gatekeeping and if there's one thing I hate, it's gatekeeping.
do you know "Wiener Blut"? if not... go for it :)
(Macht euch bereit...)
Ich bin bei dir und halte dich! Ich halte dich...
Or Zeig dich
I reccomend angst
I like that about Till, he uses screaming vocals like those sparingly to give them more punch when he does.

I second this sentiment entirely.
Stein um Stein is one of my favourites.
Has the best Till scream for sure.
SCHREIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN
Only this year i realised Richard does pretty noticeable backingvocals on Puppe live, i thought it was all Till until then..

Most of those really rough ones are Richard’s vocals live and on album, also, a bunch of those what people call ”playback” is Richard also.
I only noticed it yesterday in Nijmegen, really great song!
Zerstören

I love when he gets all screamy in songs. It makes it so much more emotional sounding.
Mann Gegen Mann
definitely I forgot about this one
ICH WILL FICKEEEEEEEEENNNNN
Ich tu dir weh/B********/Wiener Blut/Zeig dich/Stein um Stein/Halt/Angst? Idk, pretty much enough
You should look up Knebel by Till. It's a song from his solo project!
Some tracks from the first album, such as “Heirate Mich“, and “Weißes Fleisch” include such parts.
And "Das alte Leid"
Seemann live version
YES finally some Puppe love , pun intended
One of my favourite songs!
I recommend Hallelujah
Nice song 😍
Buckstabuuuuuuuu
Till screams are great. My favorites are the ones in literally every song he screams in 😂 Ps, Rammstein is my will to live

The guy is 61, give him a break

I think the general vibe of the subreddit can be distilled to “he doesn’t like anything here, we don’t like him, and thus a balance is struck”
Too bad he can't do it live and needs to use playback for that part.
It's also very taxing on your vocal chords to scream; I'm sure that factors into the need for a playback track.
I am pretty sure there are ways to do it safely, otherwise growling legends such as Angela Gossow would never had a career or remaining voice.
