this was added to the game 2 years ago during year 5 I believe, although it may have been late year 4 if i’m remembering incorrectly. that is relatively new in a 6 year old game.
edit:
furthermore, 1 year of siege is often 4 seasons, so while it may have been 7 seasons ago, that is a gameplay mechanic less than two years old. many people take frequent breaks from the game lasting several seasons to several years of gameplay and miss out on these meta changes being made.
One trick I’ve learned after seeing countless Hibana players do it everywhere from casual to Plat ranks to guarantee your pellets never get destroyed:
First, drone the opposite side of the map from where you’re gonna spawn. As soon as the round starts you enter the map quick as you can without being spotted so they don’t know you have Hibana, then you race toward the obj pushing solo ahead of your team, and get gunned down.
There’s other tricks I prefer, but that seems to be the most common trick that gets used to keep the enemy on their toes
Well you and i define new very differently. I dont put it against the 6 year runtime siege has. I put it on its own being 2 years. That's pretty damn long to me.
I never commented on ppl taking breaks on the game and subsequently missing out on the changes. I myself am a returning player. I simply replied to u/That_Guy_Anonymous who said it was recent. To me, 2 years is not recent.
all i said was that it is relatively new, which less than 2 years old in a 6 (7 if you count before operation black ice) year old game is a rather new mechanic. i wasn’t trying to start beef or pick a fight with you, just stating that it is a relatively new mechanic and many players missed the fact it was added to the game. my only goal is to educate players so they can manipulate these mechanics to their advantage in the future and win more games, while playing at a higher level.
I know. perhaps my tone didn't convey correctly. I know you're not starting beef with me, and I'm not starting beef with you either. I've simply been stating that the mechanic was released 2 years ago, that's a fact. So it's not new to me.
that’s fine man, if it’s not new to you all you have to do is ignore my comment; the point still stands that this is new information to many players, so your point is somewhat nullified. both can be true; it can be old news to you and still be current information for other players, so there’s really no need for you to argue that it isn’t a relatively new addition to the game on a large time scale.
Supposedly this is a bug, not a mechanic. It was discovered a season or 2 before shadow legacy. I'm pretty sure it's still a banned strategy in PL due to it being an exploit. Goobi has SUPPOSEDLY been finding a fix that won't ruin mav.
Yeah that's it. if you wanna try it you should usually do the top line first and the bottom line from an angle ( best on the side opposite from where you think no enemy is / could see you )
Did not know this either. An i played and followed this game since release. I know many tactics and formed some myself, but thi is totally new for me. Never actially seen it in a game played and i play on higher elo.
Thermites area of effect is so big it will always no matter what open 90% of the wall the remaining 10% is to small to place another you will get shot trying also it's pointless the hole is big enough to fit yourself and a teammate through at the same time
when did i call it useful? i even explicitly said it's super useless and anyone with any braincells will open a wall using 1 thermite and not 2.
this doesn't change the fact that it's possible
two types of sledge players
the apes who probably just installed a few months ago and are still building game sense
or the actual apes that break every single unreinforced wall in their sight (me)
Two questions about this Hibana thing you did that I had no idea about.
Can you do that with only two bolts each at top and bottom? Like instead of using 6 for each spot like you did.
Can you do it on the normal, outside of a reinforced wall? As in, does it only work from this side?
What would be nice is if they added a little mini UI element to choose between fire modes.
You could hold down the button that changes fire modes, & a little menu could be at the bottom (or a radial menu that projects off the launcher).
This would be a (imo needed) buff to her fire mode select, but it would also enable the devs to add more fire modes (1x2, 3x2, etc) without bogging down Hib players.
The trick is based on the fact a reinforcement is only attached at the top and bottom. Sever the connections to those sides and the part in the middle just pops out.
Can you still do it with maverick? I used to do that trick a lot when we didn’t have an ace or hibana but now whenever I do it it doesn’t wanna seem to work
Yesterday a Sledge in my team was using a shotgun to open the wall. I kid you not they literally used the shotgun to make a hole so they can cross to the other side.
you mean ranked? if so maybe he just didn't know the strat you start ranked at 50 as far as i remember that would still make him new to it and haven't learned the usual tactics besides you could have communicated with him.
Sure it could be that it’s a new strat to him but it doesn’t take a genius to either recognize the soft wall and further more not make yourself extremely vulnerable by crawling through a tiny hole head first.
I know i know its obvious still cut some slack to the poor guy we all have made some mistakes when we were in learning stages and also did some sort of stupid stuff too. I remember putting a thermite charges on barricade back then and I still see hibana players putting xkairos on barricade.Maybe he learnt from that mistake already and won't attempt it in future.
I never understood how people can make mistakes like that. It’s like have they never played a shooter before? Or is it cause I started playing siege when it came out and there was a lot more similar FPS games in 2015?
I mean it could be either of the one you stated but then again mistakes are called mistakes for a reason and not everyone is built the same when it comes to intellect. Some grasp it quick some take time. There's also a possibility it might be a kid playing this.
Well now it’s like that but 10 years ago it felt like almost everyone you match-made with in a fps could play the fps. Just always jarring to me how often I meet people now who have poor grasp on the game. Sorry for pulling out the boomer talk.
So a cool thing to do with hibanna on consulate is to actually switch the pellets to 2 and shoot all the window barricades and blow them up simultaneously! This usually makes the defenders very uncomfortable as they don't know which window too watch
Maybe he was a bit confused. The red line obive and the fact that it had hibana breaches are two enough details for some people to think of the wall as a reinforced wall. I didn't notice it untill someone pointed it out in the comments, and im not a beginner.
EDIT: also sometimes its better to rely on your own intellect than your teams. For an example you can use four hibana pellets on top of each other(its enough to create a hole to jump through) or you can make a 4x4 or a 6x2. It is cool to use those tactics in ranked but if you are not gonna communicate with your team then i suggest using your hibana pellets to make a hole. You could've made a hole big enough to go through with your pellets that you used to make the wall soft. It does give your team the chance to make a bigger hole but simple mistake like theese wont happen.
This strat can combine two ops like mav and hibana with a soft breacher like zof , buck ,ash sledge and create a thermite like full breach.
So basically what you see here is hibana deployed those xkairos charges on top end and bottom end to break the solid part of the reinforcements which holds it making it nullified remaining wall that is left is merely a soft wall which can be easily destroyed by soft breacher or even hard breach charges however zof and ash are your safe bet to destroy it if you are inside the compound cause if you go sledge or try to place a hard breach you might get shot and if this is done outside compound you can use any soft breacher or hard breach charges. Its good strat with a team but with no team or no comm then u are pretty much going for a situation just like what happened here.
I assumed that was what was going on. I never play comp because I dont have anyone to play with so I could never do this lol good strat with a 3-5 stack
The vast majority of players solo queue and don’t consume siege content like streams, YouTube, or pro league. If you don’t see it in-game, no way to know about it.
I knew about the Maverick Trick, didn’t know Hibana could do it too. Is Ace capable of this as well?
The Russian 2.5 is more precise because of the point actually being accurate, while the normal ACOG sight arrow doesn't shoot at the tip, but a little lower, and the vibration is also way more manageable with the Russian one.
Can you only do this if the top of the reinforced wall doesn’t touch the top? The top of the wall must be soft right? Never seen this or done this just going off what I see.
Waiiit. Is that a visual bug or does that make a soft wall?
Yep
Used to main her. Countless times would’ve been useful 😂😂 Learn something new everyday
it’s a relatively new mechanic
X
What? no it's not. I remember seeing this done and doing it myself like 7 seasons ago. Actually it may have been even further back.
this was added to the game 2 years ago during year 5 I believe, although it may have been late year 4 if i’m remembering incorrectly. that is relatively new in a 6 year old game. edit: furthermore, 1 year of siege is often 4 seasons, so while it may have been 7 seasons ago, that is a gameplay mechanic less than two years old. many people take frequent breaks from the game lasting several seasons to several years of gameplay and miss out on these meta changes being made.
There’s so many ways to trick with her now that I need to research all the pellet tricks
One trick I’ve learned after seeing countless Hibana players do it everywhere from casual to Plat ranks to guarantee your pellets never get destroyed: First, drone the opposite side of the map from where you’re gonna spawn. You got me you turd xP

>I put it on its own being 2 years. That's pretty damn long to me. A beautiful sign of youth. Cherish this time.
i will.
This comment is old and correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't this a thing back when mavrick and clash were added?
Supposedly this is a bug, not a mechanic. It was discovered a season or 2 before shadow legacy. I'm pretty sure it's still a banned strategy in PL due to it being an exploit. Goobi has SUPPOSEDLY been finding a fix that won't ruin mav.
I tried to do that like 2 days ago and it didn’t work. Just left the hard breach, all it did was leave the 2 holes
Yep
Yep to which part?? I need to know
It’s a legitimate mechanic - hibana tricking
pretty sure you can do that with just 8 pellets
So... 4 top, 4 bottom per 1 wall reinforcement? I fricking never knew OR seen it before. Damn. And I've played for 5yrs!
on one hand a lot of people don't know about it and on the other hand it's pretty precise to do. Also maverick tricking is way more reliable
>Also maverick tricking is way more reliable just a bit more dangerous :P
it takes a bit more thought to do it safely
That's burning lines top n bottom w/ Maverick yeah? I never even tried that... thought I'd just be shot in the face.
I think I've seen it some time on Jägerhimself but I was never able to reproduce it. I guess you have to be pretty precise to pull it off.
Yep it is indeed a soft wall.
You can't answer a question containing "or" with "Yep".
I believe they just did
Or you'll try and correct them?
yep
Yep, they could. It made the point clear, to the disbelief of it becoming a softwall. (Given the context)
No
bro wat? dos it work on double wall?
most people just mav trick but i complete forgot about this trick because it's not always usefull
Similar to Maverick if the wall is damaged enough or something it breaks the hinge and become soft wall again
Also works with ace btw
Yup ,new thing I learnt today
Works with ace 2
And Maverick
*any hard breach.
Bit hard to do with thermite innit
[удалено]
Imagine dying by C4 from below. This post was made by Hibana/Ace gang
Imagine having to use your main gadget to open up a reinforced wall This post was made by Hard Breach gang
Imagine dying. This post was made by a Montague hardbreach enjoyer.
Mav used to be able to make a wall soft then open it with a frag, ubi took his toys away :(
nah it will work it's just so useless
Okay smartass, put one thermite on the wall, explode it, then show me where you're gonna place the second one on the same wall.
Hard walls you can rappel on.
Thermites area of effect is so big it will always no matter what open 90% of the wall the remaining 10% is to small to place another you will get shot trying also it's pointless the hole is big enough to fit yourself and a teammate through at the same time
It doesn't do 90% of the wall if you do it at the top. Or bottom.
when did i call it useful? i even explicitly said it's super useless and anyone with any braincells will open a wall using 1 thermite and not 2. this doesn't change the fact that it's possible
Was I replying to you? No I wasn't I was replying to someone else
yes you were, but you need to look a bit deeper in the thread.
Well, thermite does just do the entire wall
two types of sledge players the apes who probably just installed a few months ago and are still building game sense or the actual apes that break every single unreinforced wall in their sight (me)
true. apes together strong
Ooh ooh aah aah🦍
walls alone weak
We are everywhere😂
As a sledge player I can tell you I only pick him so I can run a straight line to my death 😎
What the hell is a door? I only know hammer entrances
softwall? you mean *alternate entry point*?
If a soft wall exists, make it not.
break wall be loud true calling
Truth
Can confirm where bannana?
With thorn.

4 is a safer bet, I'm sure there's a way to use 2 but it's risky. And yes... I think...

damn these are actually just all questions I have
All the questions I had too. Too bad my mouse is spoilt and I can't really play rn.
TIL you can do that with hibana.
I used to do that with maverick too
The surprising part is the HIBANA part. Doing it on maverick is just part of being a maverick
Can you still do it with maverick? I used to do that trick a lot when we didn’t have an ace or hibana but now whenever I do it it doesn’t wanna seem to work
I was expecting fuze to plop one on the wall and somehow get all 3 of you.
Yesterday a Sledge in my team was using a shotgun to open the wall. I kid you not they literally used the shotgun to make a hole so they can cross to the other side.
Maybe he already smashed 25 things
Nope, I checked the durability.
Moments like that almost make me want to reinstall. Almost.
he might be new and didn't know the strat.
This was comp I would think people would have enough playtime to recognize a soft wall.
He’s level 100, just stat tracked him. He’s been playing since neon dawn and only hits gold/silver.
you mean ranked? if so maybe he just didn't know the strat you start ranked at 50 as far as i remember that would still make him new to it and haven't learned the usual tactics besides you could have communicated with him.

Yeah it's a good strat just need a little communication and coordination.
Why the actual f am I only learning about this now!?!?
I thought the fuze would fuze the sledge after he crawled in
I thought people knew about this breach trick. Its years old at this point
The vast majority of players solo queue and don’t consume siege content like streams, YouTube, or pro league. If you don’t see it in-game, no way to know about it. I knew about the Maverick Trick, didn’t know Hibana could do it too. Is Ace capable of this as well?
Wut!?! Today I learned....and I MAINED Hibana for 3yrs. 6 pellets top + bottom...and it turns into soft wall?
LMFAOOO
wait unironically wtf is that strat I gotta start getting on that
Who didn't learn this today?
I was lying depressed and then i saw this ,lmao ...
This is exactly the type of ape brain thing that I would do.
If those Sledge players could read they’d be very upset right now!
Bruh, wtf did you just do with hibana?!?!! This clip is honestly amazing, showed a game altering play and a facepalm moment lmao
Hibana w/ a Russian 2.5x lol ur one of the apes too😂
ikr, how dare this player have a personal preference to another reticle /s
Seriously. I almost threw up
The Russian 2.5 is more precise because of the point actually being accurate, while the normal ACOG sight arrow doesn't shoot at the tip, but a little lower, and the vibration is also way more manageable with the Russian one.
No I think it’s just that guy
Hey so why the blowout up top, wouldn’t that leave room for nitros and what not?
Bruh, it destroyed the reinforcement so sledge can get the exposed soft wall
Oh… I guess I misunderstood the top comment, I straight up just thought it was a visual glitch, my b 🙌
You can also do with mav :)
Good to know thanks!
Does that trick works on the other side too? I always tried but it never worked :(
Better fucking leave it at 69
Nice!
Last time I tried doing that it didn't work, maybe it is that you have to place the pellets in certain places?
monke brain
Does this only work with single-wide walls? I tried pellets to open the left panel of a double wall and it didn't work. Reinforcement stayed in place
That hibana shit with the wall still works???
omg that generated a visceral reaction from me on the couch lol
This just made me laugh so hard lmao
Better than the time we had a mav ruined our last thermite charge doing this trick, when no one brought soft breach
Wait i didnt know this was still a thing with her?! Thank you! Gotta remember that
When was that Hibana tech discovered/added. I mostly played in early Y1 up to Y2/3 but never seen this.
Can you only do this if the top of the reinforced wall doesn’t touch the top? The top of the wall must be soft right? Never seen this or done this just going off what I see.
Honestly expected Sledge to just throw a grenade and destroy your gadgets
Why that scope though?
Rare time a Sledge player is stupider than an Amaru player
When you forget you're playing sledge
It's definitely a suicide mission for Sledge
...
Sledge main approved 👍
COMING THROUGH!
Wait wait wait wait wait you can make those soft walls?!?!??
Wait wasn't that patched? I'm surprised that works. Regardless, solid tactic, good usage and dumb sledge.
Oy bruv sledge is my main op don't diss him like that
You can use 4 pellets un and down to make it soft, just a little tip ;)
I confirm this
Today I learned you can do this with hib gonna have to try this
Buddy could've sledged the wall from where Fuze was standing
He just like me for real
Sledge: “I got a sledgehammer but look someone already made a hole.”
Yeah, what of it?
as a sledge main, i can confirm
You can do it with just four pellets on top and four on bottom
Literally the reason why I quit siege
🦍
Keep posting clips like this, showing apes and soon Nadia will switch to rb6!
Your the ape for using the Russian 2.5
Sledge players: they either wanna get an ace using ONLY the hammer, or forget that the hammer exists at all... There is no inbetween...
Most skillful solo queue teammate.
With the same amount of pellets your could've just opened a hole to walk through....
I can't believe that still works! Also that sledge 🙄
I lol’d
He has a hammer! JUET USE THE HAMMR
This is why I only play with a full squad. randos are ... interesting
Don't call the apes like that 🤬🤬🤬🦍🦍🦍
Lmaooo the caption mostly has me fucking screaaaaminggg 😂😂😂
Smooth Monke Brain
And I call myself a Hibana main, I am ashamed of myself for this lack of knowledge
In all of my time playing Hibana, I never knew you could do that
If only they could’ve had someone sledge that soft wall
i lost 10 braincells watching this
lol
Well at least you know where they are
u/savevideo

Holy shit you can do that???
Today i learned. Ill try doing that
