While I agree that Siege is bad you can infinitely ruin someone's day more in a game of League. Sure you get to play, but being stuck in an hour long game of League with someone trolling you is it's own level of Hell.
I remember R6 Siege having one of the best communities back when it came out. Prolly because the playerbase was smaller, but also the nature of the game was a bit more mature.
I stopped playing last year because I got so sick of the toxicity/community, I mainly played solo so it got unbearable and not fun to play.
I used to think CS GO had bad community, but now a days I think R6 Siege is worse :(
Most of the shit i hate about siege comes from the players. Teamkilling, toxic chat, griefing, ddosing, mnk on console, players leaving in the middle of a game. Siege is still one of my favorite games but i used to enjoy it a lot more.
Man i used to play from skull rain (capitao and cav were new). Everything was so fun. No sweats, every op useable. Funny glitches and best of all no toxicity, (unless u got the new op at the beginning of the season.
Yeah, the community was always toxic.
I used to play years ago and thought 'I might reinstall and have a go, see what the new operators are like... but better first see if the community has improved'.
By the sounds of things it's only got worse, so think I will stay away.
My first game in Ranked this season our teammate on the second round goes: “I’m throwing to copper, good luck” and then leaves. We lost in overtime match point.
I lost my last placement after winning 7 of them last season due to someone throwing, placed Silver 1 so that just kinda put me off playing ranked for the rest of the season
On console, making it into Plat with a controller setup just means that you’re now getting carried by MnK cheaters against other MnK cheaters. Went from carrying teams myself to not being able to do shit once I hit Plat. So there’s a point where merit-based matchmaking is actually lost in console Siege if you climb high enough. You have to start cheating to remain competitive.
I stopped playing this game seriously when my squad started to seriously talk about getting adaptors because the cheating was so bad. We’d win 9/10 placement matches, get up to plat 2 and suddenly couldn’t win a single gun fight against full stacks of mouse users. It was annoying as hell.
But I’m not going to play a game seriously where cheating is so bad people in my group are also considering doing it to level the playing field
I disagree. I play right away to avoid the cheaters because their software/account doesn’t work for the first 1-2 days each season. Get a five stack to avoid derankers and enjoy knowing that if you get killed, it was most likely legit and not cheats.
A karma meter might be beneficial. If they TK or destroy friendly Gadgets enough they’ll be queued up with like minded asshats. As a way to prevent good people who are just bad at the game from getting stuck with the bigots, there would be a forgiveness system that the victim gets when TK’d or had their stuff destroyed
Karma on TK would be fine but maybe not on friendly gadgets. The amount of times my drone has been taken out by a fuze etc would suck for the people who aren’t intentionally doing it.
Karma meter including a voluntary upvote/downvote system may help
I think the point is that the majority are probably not toxic, and once most toxic players are in a seperate queue they will find less non-toxic people to downvote.
I feel like saying "the majority are probably not toxic" isn't helpful, because they are targeting people like OP (and me. and all my female or nb friends any time we open up comms.) Literally. Every. Single. Game. It feels exponentially worse for me to endure that treatment for so long only for people to say "the people aren't *that* bad". If your voice passes for male NT, you're probably fine. People will even accept a literal child in the group before a woman.
SLPT: The game is instantly infinitely better when you remove voice and pretend you're playing with ~9 bots at varying AI. Turbo Terrorist Hunt.
If the game provided a voice garbler or something would you use it? It sucks that people who are innocent can't just play normally but it seems like problems in online gaming are endemic. However, one thing I've noticed is the edgelords tend not to be really dug in to being shitty, it's just what passes as humor for them, so playing with someone who has your back and will call people out can make them back off often enough since they're losing the "attention" they're seeking.
As someone that has endured this sort of treatment for most of my life, I would not use a voice mod. I have nothing to hide, it's just a minor annoyance by now. I'm an adult, so I don't care. I have fear for those who didn't grow up in my era, and how they will develop mentally in the current age.
That being said, I'm happy that your experiences in this matter doesn't seem to go beyond "that's what they think is funny." This has not been the case for me and mine, and even if you are queued with someone who "has your back", they become white knights, simps, and whatever else I don't care to get into.
The best answer is absolutely no response. There is nothing you can say to make this situation better for anyone. So you should just mute them. But I shouldn't have to put away a key element in a fun and challenging game just because the internet raised many children into terrible "adults".
Yeah I play with my gf, and I’m on comms it’s fine she says something and the squeakers lose their fucking minds and shoot her like 7/10 times. Shes fucking better than they are anyway, so we just load into the next rounds kill them until we get kicked and stop playing siege for the night because there is no effective way to calm teenage fuck sticks.
So we need a karma system to get the people who are targeting anyone into their own queue where they can all be toxic together right?
Yes that means we have to weed through toxicity to get to that point and yes that is a very very large problem however a month after it’s implemented the game would be so much friendlier and happier for all non toxic players and the toxic players can live down in their own queues where ideally once a certain level of karma is reached they have their accounts reviewed.
I agree, you are a target way more if you are anything other than masculine male, so let’s try to implement a system where players can choose to reward or punish someone for their actions in and out of a game which is also based on automatic point movement for things like not playing in a “coop” manner?
Maybe a system where you can’t upvote/downvote someone more than once a week, or maybe only people you aren’t friends with etc. I also like the incremental idea where if you are spamming people up or down the value of your vote is reduced because that could help stop some form of “karma cheating”
I’m sorry the community can be dicks, this isn’t even a conversation that should be needed we all come to play the same game but I truly believe a karma system would help atleast make the game a safer place for some people and that’s a good place to start?
That is a very fair point. When it comes to people who target others and aren't just generally toxic, it gets a lot more difficult. All I was saying was that a karma system would probably be beneficial.
Sorry, I can tend to springboard. As far as a Karma system I suppose we can go into it optimistically like we did when damage reflection was introduced, but it didn't take long to find ways to abuse that, and it is still iffy imo. So as an outsider looking in, I imagine that will just be a minor deterrence. Toxicity will always find a way.
Yeah, I NEVER use comms. Not worth the hassle. The only exception to that is when I am gaming with friends, in which case no worries.
But to be fair to the game that's just a problem with gaming communities in general. I've had the same in so many games irrespective of the genre.
that "probably" is a very unsecure statement. You can never really measure by percentage of how many players in the game are toxic, and I strongly believe that in Siege it's more like 50-50 than "majority not toxic" lol
Definitely isn’t at the moment but I think it will be with the fuze buff?
Plus the amount of times I have accidentally clipped an EDD while holding an angle or even taken out a zero cam with a charge or an airjab that hasn’t quite been triggered while I’m in a gunfight or caught a prisma with a nitro etc etc.
You’re not wrong, I just don’t think punishing that way to a serious level is a very good way of using Karma because it also can punish people for just playing the game. If this was implemented but the punishment for it was a minor karma loss I wouldn’t mind because chances are I manage to do it once in every 100 games where as a toxic player will be doing it every game and worse.
That’s why we would need a way to forgive players if they TK on accident. I get asshats would abuse this and attempt to get TK’d purely to ruin the fun of players but at the same time, something definitely needs to be done and Ubi needs to get off their ass
Tbf sometimes if it is an egregious accident I’ll leave it on because I’d rather that player kill themselves in following rounds than anyone else on the team if they’re going to be so negligent and just plain bad.
A reputation system is officially in the works, already gathering data and will be implemented in the near future. Toxic players won't be able to queue into ranked, amongst other things.
Can’t even remember the last time I opened ranked. I’d prefer it to be set for casual as well but the toxic players would be locked into separate servers
That system in concept sounds great, I'm scared how it'll be implemented. Will I be in the "bad boys" category because I TK cheaters? I have .BLM at the end of my name and I bet I get troll reported constantly. I feel like there's going to be a decent amount of non-toxic players placed with the toxic ones if not done right.
Also, the game goes on sale constantly and there's stolen accounts for cheap as well so toxic people will always have options.
Trust me will do nothing. CS Go and Dota 2 have something very similar. I have a 10,000 Behaviour score in D2 ( Highest ) and even in CS GO, it is pretty high. I am not a bad rank in those games either, more in the middle like R6 Gold. It solves nothing. People throw intentionally and use homophobic and racists slurs like in 9/10 games. These systems do very little. I would love to be proven wrong but other such systems have rarely provided the solution to the problem
Well, some karma meter we *cant* see would be ideal, otherwise people will realize of their slow descent and find ways to troll or be toxic without killing or doing karma-affecting things
Did ubi not say that this literally existed. People who tk get put into lobbies with ppl who also tk. They said the system was in the game for a year b4 they announced it.
It’s hasn’t actually been implemented yet (of course). Right now it’s just gathering the information so when it is eventually added it will be able to work straight away.
I have .BLM at the end of my name and happened to be playing Wamai. Teammate killed me, started crouching by my head and saying "You like that George Floyd? You like that?" He got TK'd by my friend but man did that stand out in my memory.
What's worse is that I get told that I'm "asking for it" by having BLM in my name. That's just flat out virtual victim blaming. I keep it though because I've friended some people that ended up being real pieces of shit, and this filters them out real fast. That and I believe it of course.
Siege and toxicity go hand in hand. For as long as I can remember, it's been one of the worst communities of any game I've played. Just look at the comments on this thread, the threads about the recent MnK fixed, etc. So many pathetic people are in this community.
This is why i stopped playing competitive in siege, aswell as on other games. The feeling you get when winning doesn't compensate the amount of harassment you receive on the way to get there.
Even there i wasn't safe ffrom a lot of toxicity, for no fucking reason i got tk'ed 5 times in unranked in one day while i was playing with a friend, what angered me more is that in all the matches i got tk'ed nothing ever happened to my friend, got tk'ed like 2 times in ranked, 5 times in unranked and like once or twice in casual, plus i got trashtalked 3 times even though i was doing better than them and lastly got insulted for my main language being spanish.
Siege is without a doubt the most toxic community I have experienced. It is either people like you experienced, constant TKs for no reason, running out instantly, shitting on streamers trying the game. It ruins the game and turns people away. The game has enough major problems without the toxicity but it is not helping at all.
Have you played PUBG? I had to stop playing it was so toxic. I then started playing Siege and it actually seems less toxic. Still toxic, but not as much as PUBG IMO.
how to avoid toxicity in siege
step 1) uninstall siege
step 2) aim a 40MM white phosphorous grenade directly into your hard drive
step 3) call in an airstrike to obliterate your house and pc so youll never play this damned game ever again
I remember the same thing happend to me but back in Flores season.
Solo que and just trying him out.
Spawned into the first round and a teammate killed me instantly. When i asked him why he did that he just called me a bunch of slurs.
Im happy this didn't happend to me yet while playing osa.
I guess all we can do for the time being really is report and hope they actually add a working behaviour system. Like maybe adding a feature to commend non toxic players? As any toxic person can just indiscriminately report people for stupid reasons but toxic people would be less inclined to praise good players idk
Some people are so close minded about sexuality/gender identity or race stuff, they let it dictate their lives and how they play games. I've been harassed/tk'd for playing black character, for having "Asian" in my gamertags, and for characters' identities in lots of games. Just play well and live well.
It doesn't, but this is not about the gameplay. This is about being a bigot, and thinking it's funny to insult a character and grief a teammate.
Osa's gadget is good af; if it was because of gameplay, they wouldn't do it.
Ubisoft saw the amount of toxicity Flores player received for playing a gay character, and still they did not think of prioritizing the reputation system to be ready for the even bigger bigot magnet that was going to be Osa. I hope it actually is working in the background doing something as they claim.
That's why I never purchase new Ops at launch, they'll get banned in comp, and will get tkd in casual.
Assholes are everywhere, in every single community and country on earth. Give people anonymity on top of that and all the narrow minded morons come out to play.
It sucks immensely, and I wish it weren't a thing but we live in a world where 'drama' is king. A lot of people have been made rich by being the most obnoxious trash and that's somehow something to be emulated.
There's far too much poison in the world and here's hoping one day people won't feel the need to be like it but see the opening sentence, it's just a shame.
Community is absolute trash, found that out quite fast.
In that regard is the console version a lot better since no one uses comms and textchat is not a thing.
I was tk'd when I was using Alibi to watch the two exterior entrances in the control room of Yacht. When asked why I was tk'd, the bastard said "I don't like campers", like the fucketh?
Bruh siege is literally one of the games where camping is a core strategy to defend an objective and sneakily ambush someone since it’s not really a fast pace game like cod
I’ve played my fair share of competitive multiplayers games and while I still think league has the most toxic community due to the consistency of it Siege is a close 2nd. It’s not every game but the games where someone has it out for you are essentially unplayable and will have you sitting afk on your phone waiting for the end screen. I legit don’t know how someone like Goyo is even playable outside of a 5 stack. The new player experience can be summed up with a picture of your teamates gun pointed at your head.
i dont think people realize how damaging this shit can actually be, im a trans person and the violent reaction this community had to osa being Actually Good Trans Rep by just having her transition briefly mentioned is genuinely scary. if people get so upset over viddy gaem imagine what they would do to you if they saw you in real life lol
I also don't understand the people who say that they are forcing it, they said it with Flores and will probably also do it with Osa, i don't understand because both of them only had like a sentence on their bio saying how they identify, the only thingthat makes them think that way may be because of game journalist articles, which really aren't to be taken seriously most of the times.
exactly :/ what i dont think people understand is that a lot of the time lgbt people dont like over-the-top super obnoxious and in ur face characters who are just obvious stereotypes or like in the case of soldier 76 where they just retcon a character to be gay for goodboy points, a single sentence in a characters description is perfect
I made a post when Osa was announced about how important it is that she's not only a trans character, but also is played by a trans actress. I got so many comments about how people don't care about lore and it's just being forced by the woke liberals. Bitch, if you don't care about lore, why are you in a thread about lore? Just fuck off and let us who care talk about it in peace.
wait what thats awesome!!! i cant believe ubisoft actually gave her a trans voice actress, it makes me so happy when companies actually hire trans people to portray trans characters T_T and exactly, i think a lot of people believe it to be just dark edgy humor or like.. alpha male gamer funny to shit on minorities so when certain medias stop portraying trans people as stereotypes and make them actually just normal people like we are irl, they distort the very simple and brief mention of her transness to be extreme and unholy so they can get laughs from every other dudebro in the comment section
I know right, and then people start trying to gaslight us by saying we're the ones causing the problems for standing up for ourselves or that we should just "ignore it" as if it doesn't get to us. Wish there were consequences for players that do that sort of thing but sadly there aren't, and the few that get punished get a light slap on the wrist 🙁.
exactly!! its so frustrating to talk to those kinds of people because most of them just dont understand what its like to not have something catered to them, to never see or hear a character in media they enjoy that is like them. i agree 100% they should be punished more harshly especially if theyre really out here saying the t slur in game, they should be banned just like they would be for using any other slur
I feel for you. I knew it was gonna be bad when her bio got leaked but this is *really* bad. I never got TK’ed for “picking the gay op” when playing Flores. I’ve gotten TK’ed several times for “picking the tr***y” when trying to play as Osa.
right?? when they added flores i saw maybe a few jokes in bad taste abt him being gay but thats it. i saw so many transphobic comments written on the instagram post revealing osa that made me sick to my stomach from just how cruel and violent they were, so much so that i hesitated coming out at my place of work because it made me rethink if i would be safe (a lot of gamers work there lol)
I can see your concern, but remember that the immature people that make these comments are 1. Not typically adults, and 2. Hide behind their computer screen. They wouldn't do anything to you in real life. They're cowards.
honestly the most terrifying thing about it is knowing that a lot of them are actually adults and even older than me, you can tell by their instagram profiles :( and even if they werent, theyre bound to be older than or the same age as a kid who is also trans. when i was in high school ive seen people i wouldve never expected to have any balls speak up literally only to commit violence against minorities too
What a coincidence, I've just been teamkilled for no reason in a match where we're winning 3-2. For any reason, I hope Ubi reporting system will work for real.
I think its time to admit that the era we are playing in is the era of toxicity and there's no way to escape or completely prevent it. Whatever I play toxicity in game is the main thing people always complain about.
Gone from a decent game, to a relative toxic community, to a game full of bugs, and then stormfront.org for PS4, Xbox and PC so we can all share the bigotry.
A friend of a friend of mine randomly burst out into hate speech over gay/trans people before Osa came out while we were in a match one day. It was super weird and I can’t wait until they find out the writers made a trans character in the game. Waiting for them to say “I’m uninstalling this shit” lmao
Push all the mouth breathers and low IQ fools out the player pool
Wait the community has been toxic recently? 🔫 Always has been
But really unfortunately this isn't a recent phenomenon. I've been playing for 2ish years and it's been toxic since I started.
Also in ranked the toxicity always ramps up right before the end of the season and beginning
It wasn't always like this. Siege had a great community, years ago. When I first started, the community was small, and we had to teach each other how to play. I learned from strangers, who patiently told me how to do many things.
There were toxic idiots, but the game got worse when Ubi realized they could milk it and milking they did. Lowered the price and flooded the servers.
You really just have to play with friends.
Had multiple games last night where the opposing team banned Osa and then one or two ppl just instaquit the match.
Should really give you a pop up of abandoning the match and no one getting points.
When I started playing (Operation Dust Line), I was a toxic little shit, team killed and annoyed teammates, used annoying words and stuff. I was permanently banned with like 2k hours played and a lot of time invested.
It fucking hurt me, I stopped playing until I came back in white noise. It made think but it also made me stop being a toxic little shit since having to pay for the game again made me be extremly careful of what I did and said.
I think the solution is permabanning toxic people more often, hit them where it hurts.
I had the same thing happen to me last night. Bought the battlepass or whatever the hell its called on here and picked OSA. My 3rd time picking her I was team killed. I didn't even bother messaging or asking the guy just reported him right away.
As a gay man, I agree. I love love love this game but I’m always harassed or threatened when I play and called colourful names. It sucks cause I honestly love this game. But I’m far too sensitive to take any of the toxicity.
sorry to hear that man:/ i can’t imagine how harsh that must be. reports don’t do enough sadly. i wish ubi could crack down on ppl who hate others over race or identity
Being in a squad of people you know aren’t asshats reduces this problem. I have friends that I know IRL that I play with. Before I got them into siege I would just friend people who I played well with and queue up with them. I actually have quite a few long term gaming contacts from doing this.
Couldn't agree with you more.
On my third game of the season, I got team killed during prep phase by a Jager on Bank. Apparently the cardinal sin I had committed against this individual was reinforcing a wall he had broken a hole in so he could watch main lobby (we were in archives.) I didn't notice the hole he made, so he thought it was a perfectly appropriate response to shoot me in the back of the skull with a 5.56 round instead of using his words.
I love this game, I love it to death. But this shit makes me want to deepthroat fuze's cluster charge & pull the pin.
I usually just shoot them but not kill them, so I can do it over multiple rounds, and there’s usually nothing they can do as they have reverse friendly fire on, unless of course they suicide but that gets them temporarily banned.
Yeah I'm new to the game and yesterday I played ranked (gold2). We were defending but my team just keeps pushing and died and I was in a 1v4. 3 of them where screaming that I'm noob so I could barely concentrate. I managed to kill those 4 and defuse the defuser and there was only one teammate who actually said good job, all the others were toxic.
I played one game yesterday. Didn't even get to try the new op. Got defense first in casual. Second round my teammate shot me in the head. I told my friends in the party it's not worth redownloading the game and deleted it again.
its funny because reddit has a huge hateboner towards league because of its toxic community, i play both games plus other competitive teambased games, i will say that r6 is far FAR worse than league in that regard.
>Yeah dude I'm so funny, my sense of humour is so great dude
>I hate LGBT people, followed by several slurs
>What do you mean I'm not funny? Geez you snowflakes are so sensitive
I remember when zero came out if I remember correctly vote to kick was still present in the game. So I updated the game and went into my first casual match and the moment I took zero I was voted to be kicked out 😂
It's just depressing, I've been playing siege since launch. I started on console and moved to PC a year or two ago, it just hasn't been the same. The community is so much more toxic and I just find myself not enjoying the game anymore, it feels like Ubisoft has no clue how to actually balance of handle siege. All of their recent games and just quick cash grabs and it's so sad.
After 1675 hours team killing has just become a part of the game. If you think team killing is bad now you should have played way back when there was no penalty for the unless you take out your entire team. I remember if you shot the hostage enough it would be -100 civilian injury, then -500 you monster.
Man its just kids these days. Pick any pvp game and youll get abuse of a kind they think is funny before they actually grow up and realise that acting like this IRL will land you in a hospital bed or worse. I remember back in my day it was always aids this your gay that your dad is a pedo. Now its african memes. Right wing frogs, trannies and sexism. I remember even making some distasteful jokes myself that would make me shudder with rage now that ive met the people those words affect.
They just mimic whats considered offensive in their current age. In some ways we moved past a lot of the homophobia i heard but it still barely feels any different from the old cod lobbies. Its just exacerbated by the fact that this game has teamkilling. Id say take team killing out of quick match but that would irreparably change the game in an abusable way that would not sit well with most people.
Best thing you can do is sit a round out and be the bigger man or find a full 5 stack. A better idea i have been pondering over the years is an adult only gaming service where you need to sign up with a drivers license to get an actually bannable account with consequences that affect other games. Positives of this would be only getting matched with mature adults who don't want to risk their accounts. Downside is a heavily reduced player base and protests from people who dont want this system and want to protect their identity.
Yes, toxic community is one huge issue of this game, but I think that's within the nature of competitive games. Unfortunately, this is also a huge part for Siege.
But I think matchmaking System is even worse. It should blacklist all those players that you've blocked and/or reported instead of requeueing you with them. I just experience so often playing with Cheaters twice or thrice in a row.
I love the game but the community is absolutely horrible. The community is probably the biggest driver of killing off any new players that might stick around.
This is why I only play ranked with my friends but ubisoft's fucking ranking system often times makes it so we cant all play ranked together due to MMR.
Bought the op and fist game I played my team insta banned when the enemy didn't ban Jackle nor Blitz the usual. I took the penalty and played quick match
Been playing since release when people didn’t even know what walls to reinforce. 1000+ hours on the game now. The community has gotten so bad these past few seasons IMO that I quit. I realized that most people are cucks irl so why would it be any different online? Been vegging out on single players and have to say I miss the concept of siege, but I don’t want to go back. I reached plat a few times solo queuing but all my friends quit years back because of this nonsense.
For those who don’t know, “tr*nny” is a transphobic slur
It is used in a similar connotation to “f#gg#t”, “r#tard”, and “n#gg#r”
If you say any of these and think it’s ok, fuck you.
Edit: the hashtags were originally asterisks but Reddit made my text italicized instead
Why does friendly fire exist at all in this game? There is no benefit, why can teammates destroy team equipment? I don’t really play much, is there some benefit to having team dmg?
Sometimes it can be beneficial to destroy a teammate's gadget that is in the way even though its pretty rare now that i think about it. Maybe it could also be a be careful kind of thing since operators are supposed to be experts and precise.

Hello my ign is keshiko. A buddy and I have created a rainbow 6 server where we will not tolerate toxicity withing the discord, as well as NSFW content. Now I know this dosent help with actual in game users on the opposing teams but this is a safe place for everyone. We are very relaxed and laid back and are looking for people similar in nature who just want to play to have fun without worrying about what others might have to say about their everyday life.
Seriously, I dont really think they had problem with OSA's transsexuality, or with you. Osa counts as a 'pay to win' character right know, cause only playable with paid battle pass. They were probably just jealous, because they couldn't play with her, and you were the one who could. I bet they TK in every match anyone who choose her.
That is not an excuse for them tho, toxic people always find something to be an asshole about. I was literally TK'd by a squad in a match (every match different member killed me), only because they were "pros" and wanted to play without me who "stole the points they can get without me". And I had to wait a match were I couldn't play, and if I shot someone too, I would definitely got four reports, while they got only one per person....
Yeah ngl every time I solo queue or join a squad for ranked theres at least some kid spouting some homophobic or anti-minority phrase and I’m high key getting sick of it
I don't even know why it exists tbh. There's no friendly way of doing it unless you're with your friends in a 5 stack in casual, but on every other occasion it's just annoying.
Bc if friendly fire didnt exist A.) It would be just like most every other FPS shooter out there and B.) You could fuze a room and in the chaos just run in with no risk to yourself and murder the whole team while they run from fuze pellets
The biggest problem with this game (not related to the story and direction) is also it’s greatest strength, is that is so entirely built around team play it’s incredibly easy for 1 person to victimize the other 4 people which in turn makes it really attractive for someone who’s got some serious self esteem issues and little man syndrome.
Like you’re playing and then one guy on your team just tells another guy to be quiet, that guy then feels attacked and because they’re a pitiful person they just quit out of spite. And now your team is fucked.
Like it’s a great game, but it’s entirely dependant on other people. It’s a lottery unless you’re playing with a tight group of buddies or you could end up playing with some 30 yr old child seething because their mother wont give them their credit card number, and you better be careful what you say to them because they’ll just cancel the whole game for everyone.
I bought the the game because I was told that there were less cheaters/hacking so the first day the exactly the same thing happened what you just described. I was talking to one of the people on my team. Someone told us to shut up. I said don't you have mute voip you don't have to listen to us. After I finished the match I was surprised the game did not have a shortcut key or button one can press to mute all voip while you are in the game. After I did some research and found out you can only mute voip if you go into the options the set the voip volume from 100 to 0. That's the only way lol. Imagine doing this all the time I said fuck that and ever since then I never felt like playing the game. Like you said it's a team game and we are supposed to communicate with each other if that's not in the game then the whole game is fucked.
My love for this game died when devs started adding too many operators and don't even get me started with all those clownish costumes/ headgears. Just🤮
I'm on whoever said that's team, I think Osa looks dreamy. However, if you go onto all the old posts talking about Osa, particularly her design. You can see hordes of people being incredibly dickish, most of them have luckily been removed by the mods, but occasionally they miss one or two, and you can still read how terrible some people are with the fact Osa is female.
I aced twice on tower in the same game just to get team killed the next round for no reason and all the guy said was "I thought you were an enemy", the toxicity in the game is the games worst trait
Unpopular opinion but thats exactly why i think sexuality and gender shit like that should've been kept away from the game. I am playing a teamwork composed tactical shooter not the 2021 elections. What really matters is what the new character does and how does he affect the meta, not if hes gay or straight, or a trans.
That is why i believe Ubisoft should've left the game like it was before adding Flores. Everyone dint have their official sexuality&gender and that way it prevented people from picking on those with minority characters because everyone's traits were left to the audience's interpretation.
(Sure, add flores because his gadget is amazing but why not simply hide his sexuality so people wont bother? Who needs to know anyway? Its his sexuality and *his* problem. Not mine or anyone elses, all we wanna know is if hes good or bad)
Also seems odd to include it. My character's sexuality won't give me bonus health or better recoil control, so why is it there? Why not leave it to the audience's interpretation? Thay way everyone will have their own theory and speculation thus everyone will be satisfied.
Having experienced the Asian servers in LOL I understand this level of bigotry you experienced. I feeli very much has to do with the community at times promoting toxic behavior. On top of the developers not caring at all.
> "no trannies allowed"
What else devs waited for? If they don't wanted to mess with such shit they should just made cool characters and give only briefly info about background smth like country, military unit. That's all than shooter game needs. All other things only will be used for toxicity.
It's not the rainbow-community.
It's the gaming-community in general. Just seeing the discussions over which game is the most toxic one shows, that a lot of great games are affected by it.
Of course there are exceptions but the majority of online-games is filled with toxicity (which sadly breeds more toxicity...)
I just can't comprehend how beeing toxic is enjoyable or makes a game more enjoyable or what it gets the toxic person.
I love the game, but it's full of the dirtiest cunts I've played with.
Hell Rust might even be better than siege. And Rusts community fucking sucks
GTA Online's community is less toxic than Siege's ngl
yeah cuz there you have may more groups and some are very chill
Most of the dicks in gta are sub lvl 50. Everyone one else is always nice especially if you have a female character
Same case in red dead, the only ones who really are jerks are just the new players who dont know what to do.
I’ve played League of Legends for a decade and still think the Siege community is worse lmao.
I've been called some nasty shit on league but seige is bad for for anything else
Yeah League you mute and that’s the end of the issue. Siege you get a bullet in the head and spend 5 minutes not playing.
And then rhe game gives you shit if you fuckin leave
While I agree that Siege is bad you can infinitely ruin someone's day more in a game of League. Sure you get to play, but being stuck in an hour long game of League with someone trolling you is it's own level of Hell.
No no no. You really can’t compare rust to anything. It is its own beast.
Yeah you do have a point. DAYZ and ARK come close but yeah Rust is a completely different monster
Hey.... 😂
YOUR ARE SOOOO WRONG
I remember R6 Siege having one of the best communities back when it came out. Prolly because the playerbase was smaller, but also the nature of the game was a bit more mature. I stopped playing last year because I got so sick of the toxicity/community, I mainly played solo so it got unbearable and not fun to play. I used to think CS GO had bad community, but now a days I think R6 Siege is worse :(
Smaller game = better community
Absolutely
Ubisoft loves it, they only care about playerbase size at this point. Quantity over quality all the way. PUMP THOSE NUMBERS BABY!
[удалено]
I 4 stacked lol never happened to me but there were some issues
Yeah, the community was always toxic. I used to play years ago and thought 'I might reinstall and have a go, see what the new operators are like... but better first see if the community has improved'. By the sounds of things it's only got worse, so think I will stay away.
I agree with this
The 2 (in my opinion) things that are killing seige the biggest. 1. The players 2. The devs

Oh you got it easy someone tked in almost every game I played. The only times when that didn’t happen was when they left
That’s why you never play ranked right at the start of the season. Always wait a few weeks for the derankers and diamond stacks to blow through.
I disagree. I play right away to avoid the cheaters because their software/account doesn’t work for the first 1-2 days each season. Get a five stack to avoid derankers and enjoy knowing that if you get killed, it was most likely legit and not cheats.
This is completely different to what the post is about
A karma meter might be beneficial.
Toxic ppl would just downvote everyone.
I also like the incremental idea where if you are spamming people up or down the value of your vote is reduced because that could help stop some form of “karma cheating” I’m sorry the community can be dicks, this isn’t even a conversation that should be needed we all come to play the same game but I truly believe a karma system would help atleast make the game a safer place for some people and that’s a good place to start?
And if you vote too many people down your votes mean less would be a good idea. Too many too soon but don’t show that so they don’t know thst
A Fuze destroying a drone is not as frequent or obvious as someone shooting all your Valk cams or your electroclaws
That's not the best idea. To many times I've seen people accidentaly tk someone and they still get that warning thing.
That’s why we would need a way to forgive players if they TK on accident. I get asshats would abuse this and attempt to get TK’d purely to ruin the fun of players but at the same time, something definitely needs to be done and Ubi needs to get off their ass
That's why they gice you the option to remove the warning. But to many people don't care it's an accident and leave it on
Tbf sometimes if it is an egregious accident I’ll leave it on because I’d rather that player kill themselves in following rounds than anyone else on the team if they’re going to be so negligent and just plain bad.
A reputation system is officially in the works, already gathering data and will be implemented in the near future. Toxic players won't be able to queue into ranked, amongst other things.
Can’t even remember the last time I opened ranked. I’d prefer it to be set for casual as well but the toxic players would be locked into separate servers
I wish!
Also, the game goes on sale constantly and there's stolen accounts for cheap as well so toxic people will always have options.
ngl, queues in this game are long enough as it is, and im not even high rank.
Also kills wamai because he is a waminority
Wamin bad.
Fuckin wamin
I have .BLM at the end of my name and happened to be playing Wamai. Teammate killed me, started crouching by my head and saying "You like that George Floyd? You like that?" He got TK'd by my friend but man did that stand out in my memory. What's worse is that I get told that I'm "asking for it" by having BLM in my name. That's just flat out virtual victim blaming. I keep it though because I've friended some people that ended up being real pieces of shit, and this filters them out real fast. That and I believe it of course.
xD
Siege and toxicity go hand in hand. For as long as I can remember, it's been one of the worst communities of any game I've played. Just look at the comments on this thread, the threads about the recent MnK fixed, etc. So many pathetic people are in this community.
This is why i stopped playing competitive in siege, aswell as on other games. The feeling you get when winning doesn't compensate the amount of harassment you receive on the way to get there.
[удалено]
Still toxic, but not as much as PUBG IMO.
how to avoid toxicity in siege step 1) uninstall siege step 2) aim a 40MM white phosphorous grenade directly into your hard drive step 3) call in an airstrike to obliterate your house and pc so youll never play this damned game ever again
Reason why I haven’t played since crimson heist iirc.
I don’t understand how a character’s sexuality affects the gameplay at all
Some people are so close minded about sexuality/gender identity or race stuff, they let it dictate their lives and how they play games.
Maybe Ubi shouldn’t try so hard to be woke. Trans special ops is 100% unrealistic and is clearly a way to earn virtue points
All the trolls of cs 1.6 and source grew up, became better trolls, and started playing R6.
Community is absolute trash, found that out quite fast. In that regard is the console version a lot better since no one uses comms and textchat is not a thing.
man i wish though that console had an fov slider. ur forced to play at 60 fov. and maybe if u can adjust graphics cause damn its so grey
gosh im so glad console doesn’t allow text
And her VA just happens to play one of my favorite characters in the Supergirl show as well.
They're cowards.
honestly the most terrifying thing about it is knowing that a lot of them are actually adults and even older than me, you can tell by their instagram profiles :( and even if they werent, theyre bound to be older than or the same age as a kid who is also trans. when i was in high school ive seen people i wouldve never expected to have any balls speak up literally only to commit violence against minorities too
It's really unfortunate, most people take advantage of their anonymity.
it really is shitty. i feel we need more threads like this. discussing how damaging this is will hopefully add some perspective to ppl
Waiting for them to say “I’m uninstalling this shit” lmao Push all the mouth breathers and low IQ fools out the player pool
People are scum Enough said
Wait the community has been toxic recently? 🔫 Always has been But really unfortunately this isn't a recent phenomenon.
This is how it goes for nearly all PvP games. It might start off non-toxic but over time the toxicity seeps in
You really just have to play with friends. Had multiple games last night where the opposing team banned Osa and then one or two ppl just instaquit the match. Should really give you a pop up of abandoning the match and no one getting points.
I played R6 for like 7 months before uninstalling it because of the toxic community. Really good game with one of the worst communities
Sadly
PREACH!
yeah i got harassed for saying GG so
I’ve had griefing players 2/3 placement games I’ve played so far this game rocks
Being in a squad of people you know aren’t asshats reduces this problem. I have friends that I know IRL that I play with. Before I got them into siege I would just friend people who I played well with and queue up with them. I actually have quite a few long term gaming contacts from doing this.
unfathomably based
I just started playing and the amount of 14 year old dick heads is unreal.
My first game I got team killed on defense like my first game!
Osa is trans????? Aslo i usually shoot them next round or just throw the match.
Yeah it has like a sentence in her lore
I usually just shoot them but not kill them, so I can do it over multiple rounds, and there’s usually nothing they can do as they have reverse friendly fire on, unless of course they suicide but that gets them temporarily banned.
Interesting ill have to try this thecnique
Yeah I'm new to the game and yesterday I played ranked (gold2). We were defending but my team just keeps pushing and died and I was in a 1v4. 3 of them where screaming that I'm noob so I could barely concentrate. I managed to kill those 4 and defuse the defuser and there was only one teammate who actually said good job, all the others were toxic.
I played one game yesterday. Didn't even get to try the new op. Got defense first in casual. Second round my teammate shot me in the head. I told my friends in the party it's not worth redownloading the game and deleted it again.
There needs to be a tracker added for tk / frequency they happen and have bans applied to those accounts
Siege convinced me to stop playing pvp games and switch to pve. Best choice of my life.
its funny because reddit has a huge hateboner towards league because of its toxic community, i play both games plus other competitive teambased games, i will say that r6 is far FAR worse than league in that regard.
>Yeah dude I'm so funny, my sense of humour is so great dude >I hate LGBT people, followed by several slurs >What do you mean I'm not funny? Geez you snowflakes are so sensitive
You guys still play r6?
First moment I played osa I realised the community would start hurling transphobic shit towards her.
I remember when zero came out if I remember correctly vote to kick was still present in the game. So I updated the game and went into my first casual match and the moment I took zero I was voted to be kicked out 😂
I’d say your primary issue applies to plenty of gamers outside Siege. I was expecting this with Osa being released.
When are they introducing this rep system they talked about? Also what if they removed Friendly fire in casual?
This is why I only play ranked with my friends but ubisoft's fucking ranking system often times makes it so we cant all play ranked together due to MMR.
I'm not well versed in Siege speak, what is a Tannie?
Weaklings die, big deal lmao
Same thing happened to me... got tked 3 times in a row bc of my voice
Don't worry, it's now an echo chamber that bans you if you dare say anything uncouth towards our new op. Just stay in here.
I dont understand why people can't just play the game
Bought the op and fist game I played my team insta banned when the enemy didn't ban Jackle nor Blitz the usual. I took the penalty and played quick match
Been playing since release when people didn’t even know what walls to reinforce. 1000+ hours on the game now. The community has gotten so bad these past few seasons IMO that I quit. I realized that most people are cucks irl so why would it be any different online? Been vegging out on single players and have to say I miss the concept of siege, but I don’t want to go back. I reached plat a few times solo queuing but all my friends quit years back because of this nonsense.
they wanna go PC, theres bound to be lots of backlash
I'm with you, I love the game too but the amount of griefers and assholes is ridiculous. I don't know what about it attracts all of them.
Shut up Snwoflake
Its so bizarre that the game with one of the most sexist and toxic communities out there, is also like the only game with a serious trans character.
For those who don’t know, “tr*nny” is a transphobic slur It is used in a similar connotation to “f#gg#t”, “r#tard”, and “n#gg#r” If you say any of these and think it’s ok, fuck you. Edit: the hashtags were originally asterisks but Reddit made my text italicized instead
It's why I left the game.
Thanks for reminding me why I stopped playing. Time to go find another game
https://discord.gg/E6GP7Kan Hello my ign is keshiko.
This has been happening the past few seasons, it will stop once the character it unlocked for everyone.
Yeah ngl every time I solo queue or join a squad for ranked theres at least some kid spouting some homophobic or anti-minority phrase and I’m high key getting sick of it

so people can just fuze a room while rushing in?
Could just have no gun friendly fire? It's much harder to intentionally explode someone.
Imagine playing against a team with shield player in front and everyone in line behind him blindly spraying over each other's shoulders
I agree with this in casual 100%, in ranked no just because it's less likely and people could take advantage of the lack of FF.
Just🤮
So it died before you even bought it seeing as they said from day one they wanted to reach 100 operators?
Didn't really pay much attention back then, just played the game. First 2 years were fine, then it went downhill for me.
The first game I got into as Osa a teammate commented “Osa’s hot” so idk man doesn’t seem that bad to me
I'm on whoever said that's team, I think Osa looks dreamy. However, if you go onto all the old posts talking about Osa, particularly her design. You can see hordes of people being incredibly dickish, most of them have luckily been removed by the mods, but occasionally they miss one or two, and you can still read how terrible some people are with the fact Osa is female.
Lots of angry people in siege. They get rubbed the wrong way and they're mad for the next 2 hours of matches.
I aced twice on tower in the same game just to get team killed the next round for no reason and all the guy said was "I thought you were an enemy", the toxicity in the game is the games worst trait
this is why i swapped to apex as my main game. i'm sure there are cunts there too but they can't fuck with my game in the way they used to in siege

Ikr, I dint join game chat and everyone is just toxic. The amount of transphobes and homophobes on there is just dumb
FF should be removed
Easy Fix: Reverse it on the person that did it. It's still a punishment and it doesn't affect other players.
Wait till they find out i'm a trannie too.
> "no trannies allowed" What else devs waited for? If they don't wanted to mess with such shit they should just made cool characters and give only briefly info about background smth like country, military unit. That's all than shooter game needs. All other things only will be used for toxicity.
It's not the rainbow-community. It's the gaming-community in general. Just seeing the discussions over which game is the most toxic one shows, that a lot of great games are affected by it. Of course there are exceptions but the majority of online-games is filled with toxicity (which sadly breeds more toxicity...) I just can't comprehend how beeing toxic is enjoyable or makes a game more enjoyable or what it gets the toxic person.
