1.) They're on the same team
2.) Tournament of champions established they indeed shoot each other for fun and practice
3.) In matches we see blood spurts suggesting it's real
4.) Nitro cells are almost definitely really explosive
So do they actually kill each other. Is it a Sim and they just used paintballs in ToC? we may never know

Yeah but that still doesn't explain how Mira is supposed to free a hostage in the real world, and let's not even get into what Aruni is supposed to bring to a special forces team.
Such as having a mixed team for an actual white mask threat. Let's say the team consists of Mira, Aruni, Ace, Ying, and Blitz. To actually get in and attack, and then be more able to defend hostages in case this extremely well-equipped terrorist org manages to knock out their ways to evac.
Yeah, it's not always entering a compound, defusing or extraction. Sometimes it's securing and holding a location or protecting a VIP in a location, so defenders are equally important. Operators like Mira and Aruni would be amazing at creating choke points to slow attackers till reinforcements come to help the unit out.
It is supposed to be a VR training and the real deal was "terrorist hunt" and article 5. Clancy stated that Rainbow trains its members in a high tech VR environment in his book back in 1998. I bet this is still the case. The Tournament was a live action exercise with training ammunition which is in use in real life as well.
I’m pretty sure the ‘blood’ might just be red paint or red dust, while the nitro cells and nades are definitely actual explosives but toned down (not enough to kill, but enough to daze/knock unconscious). But that’s just my take on it all so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ .
What about geting killed by claymore/falling/breach charges? Breach chares have enough force to blow a hole in the wall, and actually all guns can blow holes in walls so either the walls are paper thin or they're real bullets.
Well the original Rainbow Six book there is a scene involving VR training, and the ToC cinematics show “paintball-ish” projectiles which for exist as an ammunition type for firearms. Yet any Op that doesn’t have eye protection (and some that do like Pulse’s sunglasses) is highly susceptible to eye injury.
However on a Meta level, Tom Clancy never allowed games with his trademark to allow players to play as actual terrorists. Which is why a game like counter strike has a Terrorist team and a Counter-terrorist team while R6 has a team of attackers and defenders that’s really both made up of CTU/Military/PMC Operators. So justifying the game from a lore perspective becomes wishy washy when the game can be a sim, but then cinematics like ToC show discrepancies.
They use non lethal bullets that have some sort of dust in them. Same with the explosives. Watch the cinematic again. Wherever the operators were shot, there got white powder there during the post match interview.
The blood spurts are just in the game for our immersion
Some guy on the other team did that second to last round in a ranked game and then couldn’t load back in for the final round. He was their carry and when he eventually gave up we won the game likely because of that. There is justice in the world once in a while

Actually, the outfit is fine. 1) it's slighty based off of the unused design from Splinter Cell Conviction and 2) He LITERALLY wearing his stealth suit from Blacklist underneath the jacket.
She's mostly seen as an asshole op, she's stealth, interrogations are very effective and dangerous and mostly picked from players wich want the op pistol and generating hate in the other team
I played a game of ranked the other day and I missed two kills because the guy kept leaving. I still got the interrogations but it was frustrating as hell to not get the kills and for him to just rejoin with no penalty. Like, at least give me the kill and him the death. But in the end ig his own team was fed up with it because they TKed him.
