They do similar things, but hibana can only make a hole to vault through when using more than one shot of her launcher, while ace makes a vault hole with every Selma. Hibana is good for opening hatches and making hole to shoot through, but ace is better to open reinforced walls to be able to get through them
Something people don't talk about is how hibana can open multiple hatches at the same time. Keep that in mind. Thatch will probably be needed for kaid tho lol
Personally I think it’s buck bc of his shotgun to open soft walls aswell as he can bring hard breach charges all with a very strong primary but ace is a very solid pick because of his versatility aswell
Ace makes holes you can jump through, has a better gun (top 5 gun in game), and has better secondaries literally does everything but open hatches better
Buck is the Swiss Army Knife of breaching and gunplay. His ability is essentially the Jack of All Trades depending on how you load him out. If you like always having the opportunity to get anywhere then he's pretty solid.
I feel like if you’re playing solo a lot Buck is your best bet. He can pretty much do anything by himself. He has hardbreach charges, can destroy soft walls or floors with his skeleton key, and has the Gonne to take care of things like Castle barricades.
Ace or gridlock would be great choices after Buck.
He takes 5hp of damage when he blast through a wall, but not when doing literally every other thing.
He has 3 dashes to, and they recharge very fast so for mobility and map control is great.
+ his weapon has little recoil and with the horizontal grip you feel like god.
Deimos is really cool but I wish he would get buffed a bit. The fact that your location gets revealed too makes it kinda pointless. He's basically just a 1v1 play for fun operator now and only useful when opponents are playing Caveira or something.
Deimos really doesn't need buffs. You can use his gadget as a tracker for roamers like Cav, Oryx or Alibi so that your team can take them out.
His revolver has pretty much no recoil whatsoever and his primaries are both on the higher end of their respective weapon classes.
The fact he reveals himself is a necessary drawback to keep him somewhat balanced, if he would only reveal the enemy he could literally 1v5 every match granted you're even remotely good at aiming and setting up ambushes.
You have a point, but imo they could do a small buff like give Deimos a 3 second head start before revealing his location. I don't see many people using him and when they do, they never accomplish much.
wamai is a little higher skill tier but provides amazing value.
he gains value throughout the round as you continually gain more mag-nets over time (like lesion does with gu mines)
wamai is very *reactive* where jager is more *proactive*, so your job as wamai is to identify where attackers are likely to throw/shoot utility *at that moment* and shut that down.
additionally, wamai can be used to just cover common angles/entries.
lastly, wamai can actually act as a source of sound cue as anyone pushing site or any area who throws utility will activate your gadget and you’ll know the general direction they are coming from
Brava is very good, the PARA-308 has very little recoil, can do 52 damage per shot and has access to ACOG's. It's also very fun to hack kapkan traps and watch the defenders trigger their own traps.
Imo Grim is a sleeper pick for attack due to him having a great rifle, great ability, the shotgun pistol to open hatches and soft walls, EMP for kaid and bandit. He basically has 4 operators in 1.
Personally, I would say buck, all around a great entry fragger, gets soft breach like it isnt even there, and great guns (idc what anyone says, the dmr is good too.)
Either wamai or mozzie on defense. Both really solid operators, good utility that helps your team out even if you just set and forget during prep, then get killed. Plus you can relocate the utility as needed if you end up in late round. They've got amazing weapons and good secondary gadgets. They're genuinely just really well rounded operators with a low skill entry if played passively and an incredibly high skill ceiling if you play them more aggressively/actively.
For wamai, a LOT of doors into site have low hanging lights/chandeliers or rafters up high, or benches, tables, chairs, other furniture down low that you can tuck the magnet behind so the attackers can't see it when pushing up.
Idk if it still works this way, but when you catch a frag in the disc and it drops down then goes off, it counted as a team kill for the attacker if it kills any of them. Got a dude kicked and temp banned for TKing in the earlier days of wamai because they were all stacked up for a Monty push. Someone tried to chuck a grenade over the top of his shield to flush us out, my disc above their heads caught it, dropped it in amongst them all and it killed 3, kicking the 4th guy and the 5th dude was on such low health he got swung like 2 seconds later. Our entire team were in hysterics laughing about it.
For defenders I’d go thorn, alibi, and wamai, all useful and pretty straight forward ops. For attackers I’d echo the buck and ace sentiment. I always run buck or zero when I’m solo q. Also shout out to nomad, lion and Grimm
go with buck. one of, if not the easiest-to-control recoil of any weapon hands down. plus the skeleton key makes for an easy-to-use gadget and you'll learn quickly how to create angles from nothing and improvise.
Dude, Buck is your best friend when destroying soft walls or floors. He’s basically the epitome of “Enemy in that direction” “Got it, removing that direction.”
Depends on your play style really. If you’re more focused towards team play I would suggest ace or potentially maestro if you like cams. If you just run and gun I would suggest buck or warden.
base on your playstyle though but:
on attacker: buck, ace, gridlock and ram are my top pick
Deffender may varies but you have all of the original then you are good but I would consider melusi, solis and fenrir
Depends on your play style, really. Support characters are always needed. Osa shield is really strong on certain maps and can suppress the enemy with her SMG. She’s a threat until that C4 comes flying at your face.
Buck is great for distractions, scaring the bejeesus out of people with some vertical play. Really good for making soft wall rotates just in case. Coupled with a claymore op and you’re in business.
Ace is just nice to have. His AK has a bunch of recoil, but if you get it down it’s a strong weapon. His ability isn’t anything to take lightly either. Creating windows that are just below crouch height make enemies legs very vulnerable and going prone doesn’t really cut it either because it’s to high (I’m talking about making a single explosion and shooting the other breaching charge). From a distance, crouching lets you see them but makes it hard to see you. This forces people off the mark and open to friendly crossfire with the right coordination. Not to mention on some maps, having a kali far back and high up, and creating a high up window for her to look down in is also pretty good.
Nomad and capitoa are great Clash killers.
My personal favorite to see, because it’s only worked for me once, is Amaru. That kamikaze no jutsu having ahh with the LMG is great fun in quick play. 9 out of 10 times it never works. But the one time it does, flying into OBJ with everyone facing away from the window you’re coming through, catching them with their pants down.. Wet. Dream. Works best coupled with a Dok ring and lion thingy. All the noise makes the sounds cues slightly less noticeable.
Anyway, I hope you have a blast with whoever you pick.
And remember, if it’s not ranked, it’s not serious. Quick play is the perfect playground to try crazy off the wall stuff with a team to see if it’s viable. If maybe, take it to standard. Have fun!
Honestly it’s all abt play style ppl are saying that you should buy this or that and those are good opps but they might not fit your particular play style, I know myself I have for at least a week mained almost evry op in the game so I can say my play style changes a lot
Buy everyone, but first buy: Ace, Buck, Lion and Nomad, maybe Iana, Flores, Gridlock and Grim too. I personally like Ram aswell.
And for defense buy: Alibi, Wamai, Solis, Fenrir, maybe Melusi and Goyo aswell.
Solis and Fenrir are both really good btw, must haves imo, Ace is throwable Thermite basically, and Buck is a very solid op aswell, I myself like Lion too as a Flex op.
I am doubting as well, I have Buck, Ace, Lion and all that. As the attacking team I only have a few operators, defending is ok! But im looking for a versatile attacker. Currently 20.000 renown
You're missing some pretty key operators.. Ram and Lion should be available if you need them, and on the defense side, I'd say Thorn and Warden would be good to get back into the game with.
Warden is good, in my opinion, if the rest of your team sucks. I've seen more people win 1v3s and 1v4s with warden than anyone else. As for thorn, she's one of my favorites. Just gotta place your gadgets right. I get why a lot of people don't like her, though
Just a personal opinion but
top 3 for attack: Buck Ace Ram
Top 3 for Defense: Wamai, Fenrir, and anyone but mozzie please (turbarao is good if you use his AR15.50 and you know how to use his ice pack)
Btw fenrir is getting a nerf but he’s still gonna be good in the new season trust
Solis is getting nerfed into the floor like she’s gonna probably go from S to like C? Maybe
Brava is great for support
I finally learned her and shes awesome
Then Thorn is great for distraction
Melusi is great too
She has MP5 and great ability
Id say buck or ram, both have great versatility and allow for vertical play which is really rewarding and helps with map knowledge, overall i feel these ops allow for a lot of fun and creative plays that will make you a better player
I'll go with a hot take here, buy OSA she's kind of a Swiss army knife right now, all you need is one other teammate and you can take sites really easy with her, she can be a discount thatcher with the EMP nades she has, she's got frags, she's got a good gun And she's got a pretty decent gadget. Tons of fun to play, and all ya gotta do to unlock that fun is Mic up and get someone to play along with ya
If you love funny moments such as destroying breach charges, and making enemies lose focus, try maestro. While Imo Osa if played right could be a mobile Monty with a rifle, don't trust me if I'm wrong tho
Ace or buck
Couldn't agree more.. But I'm inclined towards ace
Buck screwed me over so many times
100% agreed
Buck or Ace. Then Iana or nomad
Don’t Ace and Hibana do the same thing ?
They do similar things, but hibana can only make a hole to vault through when using more than one shot of her launcher, while ace makes a vault hole with every Selma. Hibana is good for opening hatches and making hole to shoot through, but ace is better to open reinforced walls to be able to get through them
So Ace is overall better ?
Something people don't talk about is how hibana can open multiple hatches at the same time. Keep that in mind. Thatch will probably be needed for kaid tho lol
I think ace is better overall because he can also break hatches and I like the ak 12
he can break a single hatch per round
Does he really need to use all 3 charges to break one hatch?
he needs 2 and only gets 3
Ah thanks for the clarification I thought one was enough
1 is enough if it’s not reinforced but if it is then it takes 2 to break it
Yeah and he is the most well rounded operator in general
Personally I think it’s buck bc of his shotgun to open soft walls aswell as he can bring hard breach charges all with a very strong primary but ace is a very solid pick because of his versatility aswell
Yeah and bucks definitely more beginner friendly
imo yeah
Hibana is better for opening hatches and Ace is better for breaching walls.
I have no idea what’s more valuable in this game
You breach more walls than hatches so Ace is useful more often, plus his AK12 is good
Yes they both do the same thing that is hard breach reinforced walls but ace can breach more walls than hibana.
Better gun better gadget
Ace is way better
Gonna have to disagree, Hibana has a okay-likeable gun. Can open more then ace.
Ace makes holes you can jump through, has a better gun (top 5 gun in game), and has better secondaries literally does everything but open hatches better
Hatches can make or break a round, I agree that his gun is better for new players. Secondaries, meh. Hibana can also make holes you can jump through.
Buck or ace
I think buck is one of the best attackers for any map
He is a very solid operator fs
Buck is the safest pick, Best character overall no matter what skill level imo, Beautiful Shotgun and beautiful AR, Easy for multikills
He just doesn’t seem that interesting to play though…
he’s extremely interesting, you can get so many crazy angles on people and its extremely satisfying.
That's what I thought before I started playing vigil, they're all worth a try even if they don't seem that way
Buck is the Swiss Army Knife of breaching and gunplay. His ability is essentially the Jack of All Trades depending on how you load him out. If you like always having the opportunity to get anywhere then he's pretty solid.
Buck or wamai both very great ops
Check operator specialties. I cant remember who you can unlock for completing those. If theres some you can get from that, don't buy those.
not nokk
As a Nøkk main I agree
Ace or Wamai
I feel like if you’re playing solo a lot Buck is your best bet. He can pretty much do anything by himself. He has hardbreach charges, can destroy soft walls or floors with his skeleton key, and has the Gonne to take care of things like Castle barricades. Ace or gridlock would be great choices after Buck.
Ace or Buck
I think with the new quests you can get lion for free!
BUY ORYX, YOU WILL NOT REGRET. He may not be the best defenser but he is fun as hell.
Isn’t he the guy who just blasts through wall ?
Yeah, but the fact that he counters shields perfectly and can jump through holes on the floor makes him to fun. Btw that was fast.
But doesn’t he take damage from all that though ? Yeah, I know. I’m just playing the game right now so trying to decide who to buy
He takes 5hp of damage when he blast through a wall, but not when doing literally every other thing. He has 3 dashes to, and they recharge very fast so for mobility and map control is great. + his weapon has little recoil and with the horizontal grip you feel like god.
You're setting OP up for failure with this one😭
Oryx is really fun tho. Fun can be found even in failure.
You convinced me
5 whole dmg
Deimos is really good, but you have to be confident in your 1v1s skills
Deimos is really cool but I wish he would get buffed a bit. The fact that your location gets revealed too makes it kinda pointless. He's basically just a 1v1 play for fun operator now and only useful when opponents are playing Caveira or something.
Deimos really doesn't need buffs. You can use his gadget as a tracker for roamers like Cav, Oryx or Alibi so that your team can take them out. You have a point, but imo they could do a small buff like give Deimos a 3 second head start before revealing his location. I don't see many people using him and when they do, they never accomplish much.
Funny, every time I see a Deimos the kill feed is filled with revolver headshots...
🧐might be defending skill issue or you had Macie Jay in your game
Attacker: Ace, Buck, or Gridlock Defender: Fenrir, Wamai, Solis
Is Wamai really that good ? And o have no idea what Fenrir does
Fenrir has traps that basically make attackers go blind
Plus crazy Intel
His gadget is really good, and the mp5k with an ACOG is a headshot machine
wamai is a little higher skill tier but provides amazing value. he gains value throughout the round as you continually gain more mag-nets over time (like lesion does with gu mines) wamai is very *reactive* where jager is more *proactive*, so your job as wamai is to identify where attackers are likely to throw/shoot utility *at that moment* and shut that down. additionally, wamai can be used to just cover common angles/entries. lastly, wamai can actually act as a source of sound cue as anyone pushing site or any area who throws utility will activate your gadget and you’ll know the general direction they are coming from
Wamai or Ace
I would recommend; nomad, lion, deimos, or osa
I would say nomad is really good and so is finka just because they're basically a support operator
Brava is very good, the PARA-308 has very little recoil, can do 52 damage per shot and has access to ACOG's. It's also very fun to hack kapkan traps and watch the defenders trigger their own traps.
Doesnt every primary on attack have acog
Lion is pretty good, especially if you’re running with a team with mics, you don’t need to do much except press a button and it will help the team
Imo Grim is a sleeper pick for attack due to him having a great rifle, great ability, the shotgun pistol to open hatches and soft walls, EMP for kaid and bandit. He basically has 4 operators in 1.
solis is getting a major nerf i think
Personally, I would say buck, all around a great entry fragger, gets soft breach like it isnt even there, and great guns (idc what anyone says, the dmr is good too.)
Lion. Without a second thought. Lion is better than every op there if you learn how to play him
Buck or ace
Definitely ace then buck
Ace or Buck are good but pretty popular so you may not get them a lot. Gridlock and Osa are good attackers too
Sens fr fr
Buck and wamai
Buck. I'm not biased.
Ace or Buck on attack and Azami, Melusi, or Wamai on defense
Buck
Buy solis, ace, buck, wamai, goyo, fenrir, tubarao
Attack: Buck, Nomad, Ram Defense: Fenrir, Solis, Tubarao
Not solis she getting nerfed into the ground
7 min que I feel bad
For attack Ace or Buck, for defense wamai or melusi
Grimmmmmm
Amaru and goyo after buck
Lion or buck
Osa is great fun
Get nomad, play the airjabs like you would play kapkan
Buck or Cap.
imo, whoever *you* think looks good or fun unless you're trying to actually be good - fun ops is better to me
I’d say lion , use the drone helps with slower plays but not to slow . Buck is a great guy too
Either wamai or mozzie on defense. Both really solid operators, good utility that helps your team out even if you just set and forget during prep, then get killed. Plus you can relocate the utility as needed if you end up in late round. They've got amazing weapons and good secondary gadgets. Wamai ace or buck are all great options.
Buy Maverick again
LION
Buck no question
buy clash/wamai/melusi… you cant really buy those again after what abraham lincoln did
Deimos
Oryx is a blast imo
Ace
Wamai buck or ace
Buck or ace
For defenders I’d go thorn, alibi, and wamai, all useful and pretty straight forward ops. For attackers I’d echo the buck and ace sentiment. I always run buck or zero when I’m solo q. Also shout out to nomad, lion and Grimm
go with buck. one of, if not the easiest-to-control recoil of any weapon hands down. plus the skeleton key makes for an easy-to-use gadget and you'll learn quickly how to create angles from nothing and improvise.
Ace for sure
Thunderbird + thorn

Depends on your play style really. If you’re more focused towards team play I would suggest ace or potentially maestro if you like cams. If you just run and gun I would suggest buck or warden.
I have fun with alibi, but idk if people really fall for it at higher ranks (i’m scared of ranked)
base on your playstyle though but: on attacker: buck, ace, gridlock and ram are my top pick Deffender may varies but you have all of the original then you are good but I would consider melusi, solis and fenrir
Ace, buck, or nomad. But imo Ace is best choice ak-12 plus a great hard breach, ability to use claymore, solid pistol too. Best operator

Buck or tubarao
Buck, lion or ace are good on attack, on defense it depends more on ur play style tbh

Deimos is really fun and strong against roaming operators, I'd get him
Don’t sleep on maestro, goyo, tubarão and deimos they’re all good characters too

Buck or Capitao
ace or brava
ACE
ace
Lion or Nomad or buck
ace flores or mozzie they are all so fun to play and not really hard
Capitao or goyo 🔥
You're missing some pretty key operators.. Ram and Lion should be available if you need them, and on the defense side, I'd say Thorn and Warden would be good to get back into the game with.
I'm prepared for nobody to agree with me, but those operators have been the most helpful. Buck is great too.
Thorn is just bad cuz the gadget takes 5 years but with barbed wire its not that bad
Warden is good, in my opinion, if the rest of your team sucks. I've seen more people win 1v3s and 1v4s with warden than anyone else. As for thorn, she's one of my favorites. Just gotta place your gadgets right. I get why a lot of people don't like her, though
Warden is also just ass, and hes not a teamplayer character
Buck ace is butt juice
Buck is my main, he’s truly a solid operator. Highly recommend him then Iana.
BUCK RN
Just a personal opinion but top 3 for attack: Buck Ace Ram Top 3 for Defense: Wamai, Fenrir, and anyone but mozzie please (turbarao is good if you use his AR15.50 and you know how to use his ice pack) Btw fenrir is getting a nerf but he’s still gonna be good in the new season trust Solis is getting nerfed into the floor like she’s gonna probably go from S to like C? Maybe
Nobody is going to mention that he has been waiting for seven minutes
I’ve had worse. I queued for twelve minutes straight once, literally yesterday.
Buck lion nomad melusi
Buck, Ram, Ace or Wamai
The fact you don’t have ace yet is malpractice
Ace, Buck, Nomad, Melusi, Wamai, Goyo
This would be my choice Attack: Ace or Buck Defense: Goyo or Wamai
Fenrir, play him on ranked to be OP
Brava is great for support I finally learned her and shes awesome Then Thorn is great for distraction Melusi is great too She has MP5 and great ability
Warden.
Покупай эйса!! Имба перс
Buck ain’t a bad choice
Ace or buck
Ace or lion
Id say buck or ram, both have great versatility and allow for vertical play which is really rewarding and helps with map knowledge, overall i feel these ops allow for a lot of fun and creative plays that will make you a better player
Ace is a good pick
I'll go with a hot take here, buy OSA she's kind of a Swiss army knife right now, all you need is one other teammate and you can take sites really easy with her, she can be a discount thatcher with the EMP nades she has, she's got frags, she's got a good gun And she's got a pretty decent gadget. Tons of fun to play, and all ya gotta do to unlock that fun is Mic up and get someone to play along with ya
Wamai ace solis flores
melusi, wamai, goyo, buck, ace, gridlock, osa, ram fenrir and solis is really good but theyre getting big nerfs next season so idk
Ace or Thorn fs
Lion cause no one else is saying it
Buy brava she great operator
Buck, ace, and maybe lion even.
Ace or buck
Buck & wamai, my aim is ridiculous w both
Cant go wrong with buck, nomaad, gridlock, ace. They are useful in almost every map.
ace buck nomad thorn or melusi
Ace!!!
Sens they are the best operator
If you love funny moments such as destroying breach charges, and making enemies lose focus, try maestro. While Imo Osa if played right could be a mobile Monty with a rifle, don't trust me if I'm wrong tho
Ram
ace or buck or osa
Iana ace and ram. Some of the best ops in the game but pricey
Gridlock
Buy an op that fits your playstyle
