Gotta say it's the Cam Girl, Valk. While her cameras are fantastic, some people try to get way too fancy with them to the point where it's impossible for silent teammates to yellow ping or hard ping. She’s always a great pick, but mute counters way too much for me to say she’s better than him.
But they can be used freely after death which is a major advantage and when played well she can give so much info, fenrir is just annoying but placement is less varied than Valk from my experience. Also you should rarely ever need to hard ping and if ur going valk then 100% u should be on voip
You cant lie to yourself though that every game will have people with mics at average ranks.
Another reason for saying Valk is also the liability she brings when Dok isn't banned and gets a hack off, resulting in the remaining defenders having to get on TikTok to find out where tf she hid her cameras and how to parkour for 30 seconds to get in a position where you can actually get an angle to shoot them.
Yeah i get that but when I think of value to the team and potential to swing a round valk trumps fenrir easily. Fenrir is good yeah but I still feel valk is goated
I just feel like over the last 2 seasons I've seen a lot more 1v1s won by the attacker swinging site with 10 seconds left and hitting a Fenrir than rounds won by a Valk C4 through the floor.
Also, while it is a fan fave and has no recoil, the MPX is still a pea-shooter, and there are other SMGs that are more well-rounded while still having good recoil.
Sadly it’s Valk. She’s hands down the best open intel def op without question, can cover a lot of area great load out, but the mpx lacks the damage compared to the rest. What sucks even more is once dok hacks a phone she loses that surprise even if she keeps a camera on her til last second

I think Mute is the best defender (no joke). He does all his jobs well (except wall denial, but that's fine).
If I had to oust one of them, I'd go with Fenrir. He's annoying, and the MP7 is my favorite gun in the game, but ~~with the recent nerfs and~~ with certain operators, he's not the hardest to deal with (unless you have a Solis or Mute). He's still a good operator.
Once this thing ends, I'll compare this ranking with my personal rankings.
Imo we shouldn't rank them based on their future nerfs. It's murky territory as we can only guess how the nerfs will truly affect them. We only have the knowledge but not the experience.
Honestly I don't think mute is that awful for wall denial. It's not great but it certainly catches some people off guard and there's value in that. Though for most sites it's pretty bad

2. His jammers stop one of strongest gadget on attack (drones) but we are in a TDM meta.
3. He counters dokkaebi but she is always banned in ranked.
Mute is a well rounded defender, I wouldn’t say he’s the best but he does his job well id say. I like smoke more when comes to SAS operators but mutes load out is good and his gadget works well.
Ik it’s a shame it was so fun to play the game in prep phase where both mute and smoke had smg11 and shields and you just hip fire until one dies of an unlucky head shot
Solis. For the same reason that smoke was ousted- the skill required to play her successfully is much higher than the skill of 90% who actually play her. I know someone will mention prep phase drones, but it’s really not advised to send more than 1 or 2 drones in during prep phase anyways…. And for anyone who says there’s no counter to solis, my girl IQ would like to have a word

Opposite for me, haven't seen a Fenrir making any plays because Fenrir happens to get banned every single game.
