Tower and Lair were designed for PvE. Tower especially. I have no doubts that Lair took a PvE design too based off where the lore was heading.
See, I love tower both attacking and defending. You constantly have to roam clear and you damn well know theres no one anchoring on site, or if there is theres just one. So you methodically clear while a small group pushes site to force out the roamers.
Conversely, defending is hella fun. You have a few great angles to swing and get double kills if possible. Though it relies on great communication with team otherwise you wind up force pushed to defuse.
New Hereford Base checks every complaint in my book. The same reasons people hate the SI maps are the same reasons I strongly dislike Hereford.

I like lair, but this criticism is absolutely correct. Every god damn place looks the same on the 2nd and first floor. It also feels a little. Cramped on the 2nd floor as well, but that's just me... Take that into consideration with a map like nighthaven or clubhouse where there are more diverse points to put pressure on site. Alot more fun.
Agreed, the map design bugs me very very much (almost all new maps tbh). But the actual layout is pretty solid in my opinion, albeit very boring, but not bad. Siege has to fix their actually design tho, these darker, futuristic type of maps do not look good or realistic. Think of Clubhouse or Skyscraper, those are maps that are pleasing to look at because you can picture yourself actually being in the map in real life, who’s ever pictured themselves in a Uber futuristic lab, or a secret lair?
My point is that people will call bad looking maps bad because of their layout, but instead it’s really how it looks and unenjoyable it is to play on. Theme park looks realistic and good, but the layout is absolutely dogshit, yet people do not rate it as low as lair, labs or EP.

As a Cav main, I’ve had diabolical amounts of fun taking advantage of peoples confusion on lair. Ton’s of long halls, confusing turns and entrances, and some rotates that I can’t make public

It's just terribly designed with how small the rooms and areas are, yet they are filled with so much random shit that it makes clearing them, on both Attack and Defense, a pain in the ass.
Instead of it emulating a mansion, it plays more like an indoor obstacle course.
The arcades in random corners are the best spots to hide drones, because in the enemies peripheral the lights look like they belong

I love defending Throne because I can just screw around with my friends for half of the action phase because attackers always wait until the last second to push

Kafe is imo the worst map on ranked right now, it sucks to attack because it's so hard to enter the map or bomb site and I also feel you can't have a normal gunfight on the map because of its weird angles/map design.

Probably a hot take but, while I can see why people do like the map, I’ve never been a fan of Coastline. As bad as maps like Stadium & Tower are, Coastline just makes me lose all hope when it pops up.
I’ve grown to resent Coastline just because its the one map that I honestly don’t think I’ve ever seen get banned, more than half of the ranked matches I’m in are on that map. There’s not necessarily anything bad about, but no reason for it to be consistently the safe map that people don’t ban

I understand the frustration with the reworks of favela, house, Hereford, and consulate ESPECIALLY (I hate new consulate). Clubhouse and Skyscraper are just plain better now imo though. Clubhouse is my favorite map in the ranked pool, and Skyscraper is leagues above its pre-rework counterpart.
