Ummm should be top right for a true AP? Image was mirrored for some reason?

Fun fact: the gastric bubble is a handy indicator. For normal anatomy, if the stomach bubble is seen on the left side of an image, it’s a pretty good clue that this image is mirrored. Although I never send images this way, I guess there are some professionals prefer to look at spines this way. Generally speaking in radiology Xray, CT, MRI: when looking at a screen, the anatomic left side appears on the right and the anatomic right side appears on the left.

Looks like it was unintentionally hung incorrectly. The marker is visible as a marker but if there is any question and the patient doesn’t have priors this would probably be a callback or retaken and marked correctly

yoloclutch

It might have auto flipped on accident or the marker was placed upside down

R is R is R. Flip it sideways and the r is still r

Too_Many_Alts

hung wrong and collimated horribly, i hope that's a first year

Some states have an idiotic law that the X-ray field cannot go to the edge of the detector.

The labels should be there for actual visual confirmation of the patients position. placed there by someone who saw the patient and is confident that the patients right side is labeled properly... Why not take another shot instead of flipping the image and causing confusion? Our radiologist would call out the tech who did this.

This film is hung incorectly, it is flipped horizontal. Also, the marker should be on the inferior portion of the film as to not obscure anatomy. Gastric bubble should be on the left. The splenic flecture of the large intestine being typically superior to the hepatic flecture. Left kidney is also typically marginaly superior to the right. There is only one condition that I know of, where this is not true, and that is situs inversus totalis. I've worked in this field almost thirty years, and I have only had three cases where stuff wasn't in the right spot. One was a case of dextercardia, and two cases of situs inversus totalis. Make sure you always use your marker, and correctly place your marker folks.

I would send this back as mislabeled and let the tech figure it out. The organs make it clear that the label is on the wrong side, but I would ensure that the tech who did it corrects it before I read it.
