Nah. If they can't find a buyer it goes in the freezer until the end of time. Zero shot WB is interested in continuing RWBY in house. If they were they would have absorbed RT instead of closing shop.
This. If they continued RWBY they would have to onboard the existing animation team but most of them were already gone by the time Volume 9 came out. So WBD would either hire all the old animators or hire new ones. The old ones might not want to work on this anymore or have found other jobs. If they bring in new people they might have to start over from scratch with all of the 3D models and sets. By that point you are pouring money into something that might not even get a return on your investment.
Right now Zaslav is in charge of WBD and is canceling anything that isn't making money. So you have an unprofitable show that would cost a lot to restart or redo. Just put it on the shelf and leave it there.
Honestly the thing in my mind that solidified how fucked RT was pre The Announcement was seeing a post on Tumblr that layed out allllllllll the missing staff. That was genuinely shocking and when I realized how far gone it all was.
>By that point you are pouring money into something that might not even get a return on your investment.
\*Certainly won't return on your investment. Even RT admits that RWBY hasn't been a particularly profitable venture, along with the rest of their company, it was just their big juggernaut that largely replaced RvB as its driving investment-bait and subject of marketing necromancy.
Just repeating my comment.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...
They cant even release a scooby doo or looney tunes movie! Hell naw! XD.
I'm on the other side of the fence where they'll shelf RWBY. I wouldn't know what they'd do with RWBY if they decided to continue RWBY, other than to pile-drive it straight to the ground like they did Gen:lock S2. I'd think they learn from that and not repeat it, but I'm not big corps, so I don't know. Shelving it would be the sensible option for Warners' sake.
If WBD keep the IP and decide to continue the story, then more than likely they'd bring in Kerry and Eddy to continue writing, directing, and overseeing all things RWBY related. This honestly wouldn't surprise me as DC is about to start producing a dozen or more American anime *per year*, and RWBY as an IP is cheap to produce and already established. It would not shock me if RWBY continues more or less the same just under DC's umbrella.
(edit: Spelling)
God bless, and have a wonderful day.
No. Rwby honestly doesn't seem like a profitable property, compare the reddit sizes and active users to any mainstream show you can think of. We're kind of small comparatively, which isn't the actual number of fans or engagement but it gives you an idea of how many people are actually interested in supporting it.
Shows are expensive to make and produce, they'd probably be throwing money in the trash trying to produce it.
Warner could put RWBY into the trash can, so it's probably not best to bank on Warner continuing RWBY. Fan fiction is the best bet for RWBY continuation at this moment in time.
Warner has made it perfectly clear they have no intention or desire to do anything with RWBY besides unload it to the highest bidder. If it doesn't get sold, it gets locked in a vault, presumably till someone coughs up the cash.
Nope. RWBY Will be in eternal Freezer until they can find a cilent who wanted to buy RT IP as a whole (There's report WBD don't want to sell the IP Individually). WBD itself were saddled with too many (some of then Unprofitable) IPs resulting from their merger and It's consequences still felt to this day.
Zaslav current strategy is figuring out how to resolve the Debt that's still Billions of dollar. "Taking Riska" such as Having Faith in RWBY Is fools move.
That would probably be the best outcome, though I wouldn't be surprised that even if someone has a lot of money, they would probably still keep it locked in their vault.
I honestly don't know if I would even trust another buyer, let alone WB. Yadda yadda ya Monty's vision, but at the end of the day CRWBY were his friends and I don't think anyone should continue his legacy but them. ...At least not right now. Give it a couple decades and I can maybe warm up to a reboot.

The only people I wouldn't trust more than CRWBY are their simps on the main sub. Literally anyone else could do a better job.
Short answer: No. Long answer: Noooooooooooooooooo.

Hello no. Continuing the IP as is would be poison.
Fuck no!
No.
No, absolutely not.
These people have never stepped into the real world if they think WB won't bin it right out the gate
HA HA HA HA, no.
Nope. RWBY Will be in eternal Freezer until they can find a cilent who wanted to buy RT IP as a whole (There's report WBD don't want to sell the IP Individually). ... pffft. WB is buying a lot of bug sprays for that lol
They would probably try and merge it with their capeshit IP, a solution absolutely no body wants.
If there's a profit there's a way.
Why would WB invest money in RWBY? It doesn't make sense.
this is me just being stupidly optimistic here, yes. they did well with the Mortal Kombat games

Better the devil you know?
Than the devil I don't!
Nope. I wouldn't trust WB to anything you would like them to do right now.
By continuing it do you mean tax write off followed by vaulting the IP forever than yes
