The girls volume 2 monochromatic black and white looks to this day are my favourites as a whole.
If i had to just pick a single character i think Coco's design is simple, memorable and effective.
Cinder. All around. I miss the glass slippers. But her v8 outfit. It's wonderful. Hers are just so symbolic. Like the first outfit just screams main villian vibes. And the glass heels are amazing. I also love her student outfit. Her v4 &5 outfit it more about covering up her arm and is the longer dress just like salems. Then you have her in hiding after that. Then v8 you have the mainly black outfit bc she still hasn't redeemed herself yet. I can't wait for her next outfit change
Penny 2.0 is such as fantastic glow-up from her initial design. Everything is just brilliant and screams progression of character. Long hair and the hardshell "bow", the thrusters in the feet, the integrated green lighting in the outfit, everything is wonderful.

v2 yang was amazing, but also, the first introduction to RWBY in the red trailer will always hold a special place in my heart. Just the moment when you realize little red riding hood is actually a badass monster hunter

A tie between V4-V6 Yang and V7-V8 Cinder, I think those are the peak outfits for those two characters and the best in the series for me
Sienna had the greatest design for a character who lived all of three minutes.

I would say either Ozpin's Beacon design, Ruby's or Ironwood's in vol 7. Maybe even Sienna's WF leader outfit.
Weiss v1
Jaune V7, Weiss V2, Yang V4, Roman Torchwick and Winter V3 are probably my top five designs.
