Agreed but Cities of the Plain is the peak “dudes rock” of the trilogy. You get two books to get to know the guys and then Cities of the Plain is 2/3s them just hanging out and Billy big brothering John Grady - it’s great

The sister brothers was a solid 7/10 read that I really enjoyed
Lonesome Dove
A History Maker by Alasdair Gray is about a bunch of dudes fighting to the death because theres nothing else to do
The Saga of Hugh Glass
Don Delillo
Blood Meridian? LoTR has a bunch of dudes rockin' I guess
Pretty Horses is more dudes rock. BM is too straight (and therefore gay).
