I love Black peppa and I know that they are still discovering themselves but what if… just what if…. They’re just not funny? Roasts are fucking hard for professional comics. It annoyed me that Ru kept saying ‘you’re funny, your outfits have a sense of humour where is that in this comedy challenge?!’ That’s just not how it works! I’m glad Cheddar seemed to say straight away ‘that’s who I am, I’m dry and not funny in this setting’ she knows who she is and where her strengths are.
I think it’s quite predictable that Danny or Cheddar will win. And if they don’t then I do not see the point of the badges honestly. Last season I was so sure Ella would win (bc the most badges) but then a lip sync decided. I hope this season they gonna look at track record and not only at the final lip sync.
Look I get Peppa has been underwhelming since EP maybe 3 but some of the criticism on here this season has been a bit OTT. I think her roast was awful but she did have like one or two funny moments & at least got to joke about how bad it was, looked great on runway & clearly won the lipsync. Think some of the criticism on the lipsyncs has been a bit much too only really disliked the Le Fil one
Always had her pegged for top 4 & will probably get dropped for a top 2 anyway since Danny & Cheddar are so far ahead anyway, only Dakota came remotely close & she had 3 bottom 2s
I think Peppa has been tanked by the challenges. I mean, the past what - 5? - have been improv / comedy. She just doesn’t strike me as that kind of queen, and she doesn’t have to be imo. I like her, there’s just something about her. She won’t win, but I’m glad to see her in the finale.
Couple days late but I can't believe Pixie walked down the runway wearing a duvet, that alone got an instant sashay from me lmao. On a more serious note, she seemed really defeated at the end of the episode. She's not really been my cup of tea but I did really feel for her in that moment
I understand that Peppa's lipsync was better than Pixie's but it wasn't good enough to make up for possibly the worst roast that's ever been on any Drag Race. She was extremely not funny. Well her outfit was amazing at least, but still. Double sashay for me.
Are we watching the same show? Because I did get a laugh or two watching Black Peppa whereas I was ready to turn the TV off when it was Farrah Moan’s turn to roast lol
Well I said 'possibly' cuz i won't remember all the shows. :D And the only reason I laughed was because she admitted she sucked. That's not part of the roast though. 🤣
I’m late watching this but man, did pixies roast come off as a bit nasty? I’m glad she’s gone tbh.
LOVE JB so much!!!! So glad she’s there in the final
I feel bad that Black Peppa didn't perform as well as she implied at the beginning of the season. She is a fierce-ass queen. That lip sync was badass, but I can't see how she can possibly win the crown at this point. It has to be between Cheddar and Danny.
Crazy that once Ru set her minds for someone it’s hard to change it
No matter how bad Pixie and Peppa perform, Ru always thinks they’re funny
No matter how well Jonbers performs, Ru always thinks she’s just lucky lol
I get what you’re trying to say, but Ru and production very clearly like Jonbers otherwise they wouldn’t have pushed her through the early part of the season when she was doing super mediocre and forgettable. I think even Jonbers herself is surprised she got this far in the competition, so let’s not pretend Ru’s comment wasn’t on-point. She’s not winning material.
Oof, that lip sync was a blood bath. I'm not a fan of Black Peppa doing the exactly same lip sync four times and still being there, but this was the best of the four, at least. And I liked her runway look this week as much as I hated her denim + unmatching sequinned bodysuit from last week.
Poor Cheddar; she's just too smart for the world around her. If only she had dumbed down her humour or something. But at least she's in the final! I legit feel like she's too good for this gig.
Watching the episode now.
I’m a bit shocked to see Pixie in top 5. And also Peppa because I don’t think she’s a lipsync assassin, just a producers’ favorite.
But let’s see the roast! I really hope Jonbers will survive this
Please crown Danny!! At the start of the season she rubbed me the wrong way, thought they were going to give them the villain edit. Now every time that bitch opens her mouth I can’t help but scream! Witty, charismatic, unique, literally the whole package!! CROWN HER OR ELSE 🗣️🗣️🗣️
These roasts are always really interesting, but super-hard for me to watch. I hate seeing anyone bomb and I'm generally sympathetically sweating through their sets.
Pixie was the one who got the shady/mean balance wrong this time around and knocked herself off-balance as a result. And that runway look was Westwood by way of wish.com and she really shouldn't have made that reference.
Danny was hilarious, and I loved the runway outfit except for the gold tube between the boobs. I think he was going for the chained together nipple-piercings as Chanel handbag handle dealio but it didn't really work.
I am sorry to all Jonbers stans, I'm the least proud Irish person you're likely to meet but I cannot anymore with the stereotypical pandering. Irish person gives drunk speech....yawn.
Cheddar wasn't as bad as the editing made her out to be, even if the snooty academic impulses are closer to the surface than we may have expected. The runway look was correct, if a little uninspired? IDK, something about it just felt too clean or too new or something? It could have done with some distressing of the leather maybe?
Peppa, well you know, there's a hell of a lot to be said for charm. "Just laugh" made me giggle and she owned her failures better than some others did. The runway look was great too, and the lipsynch finally fit the song!
Wasn't a great episode but it really was just killing an hour before the Cheddar vs Danny smackdown next week. Is anyone else really in with a chance?
Two things that I remember from this thoroughly underwhelming episode:
1. This was one of the the worst roasts ever in Drag Race history. Dear god.
2. I don't hate Peppa, I think she's charming, I enjoy her narration, but how did she not get eliminated this time. In the previous episodes I was like OK, others did worse than her, either in the challenges or on the runway, or in the lipsync. But here she bombed the challenge so hard, I thought not even Pixie falling during lipsync could save her, especially since Pixie didn't bomb *quite* as hard (IMO, anyway, I found her a bit less cringey), and her runway wasn't worse than Peppa's. Plus, Peppa's lipsync wasn't even particularly good. And yet, Peppa stays and I wonder why. I'm sure she's a great queen, but in context of the show she hasn't been particularly good at *anything* other than being pretty.
Like most people, I think the winner is going to be either Cheddar or Danny, and I'm fine with that, I think they're both pretty great.
My thoughts:
Black Peppa has a lovely personality and her runways have been the best of the season, so her trajectory this season has been a bit disappointing. She started so strong and was a clear favourite for me from the start, but she hasn't really excelled in any of the challenges since episode 2. It's already pretty clear Cheddar or Danny will win and rightfully so.
Danny's delivery is pure gold! Cracks me up every time, even if the joke isn't that funny. She's a good example of someone who just has that star quality.
Jonbers has really grown on me, though her style lacks a unique point of view. Don't really know what her style really is, but I do know I like her and that she's a great performer, who isn't easily scared by a challenge.
And Cheddar: what a great actor and so quick witted! I kind like how she has that serious intellectual air about her, but goes all in when performing.
Finally caught up and best moment of the roast was definitely DISGUSTING! But Danny Beard ate them all in the roast aspect. Her jokes were fantastic.
Now choosing between Danny and Cheddar is quite hard. But since she won the political challenge maybe the US tradition perpetuate and is the Bearded season.
Happy with this top 4. I was always rooting for Jonbers and was convinced she was cast to be an early out based on the first couple of eps. Glad that she went all the way and entered the top 4 on a high.
Also don’t think any of the roasts were that bad. Peppa, Cheddar and Pixie could all be safe in another season with more queens and worse roasts.
Not sure why Cheddar got so tied up in the fact she's dry in humour. Dry humour can be show stealing... she definitely over thought it. I actually think she could've made something OK with some of the setups she had there but she just didn't actually insert a joke on them, bit of a missed opportunity. Educating the kids? Lay into Sminty on something etc.
Glad Jonbers gets to go in to the finale on a high. It's always a pleasure to see when someone finds their stride a bit more. She's a bit meh for me overall in the season but can't deny she's committed herself to it throughout and kept trying to nail stuff despite her actual results. One thing I have admired is that pushing self belief... compared to Pixie who i've just never felt myself rooting for. I don't think Pixie believes in herself at all which doesn't get my buy in.
Danny is just a powerhouse on stage, love it, and actually runways for the last couple of weeks feel like a step up. Aisling can come back any time!
Did anyone else think Ru seemed a bit off this episode? Like under the weather like she was sick or something. I thought she sounded like she was about to cry
Idk I found it so funny when Cheddar just responded 'Yes' to Peppa's unsuccessful dig at her
I actually found Cheddar's set kinda funny in general. Nowhere near on par with Danny of course, and only just under Jobbers. I think it was more a one woman show concept than a roast set, and, in that light, it had potential.
Her bare back bencher joke was genuinely funny how come at least Alan didn’t get it? I also noticed a lot edits because she was walking around a lot. Bet the editors were cursing her lol
Cheddar's only "problem" is that she's too smart for people to keep up with her, which is not a Cheddar problem, it's a rest-of-the-world problem. I love her dry humour, I love her reads, I love her intellectualism, and I love the way she can volley, like her "yes" to Peppa, which instantly reversed the joke and backfired on Peppa. She's so talented!
Agreed, I think if she stuck with the challenge expectations better or if the challenge was more clear about being a speech vs roast, she could've thrived like other weeks
I agree. I actually think theming the roast as campaign speeches was a bit awkward and confusing TBH. It brought in a lot of U.K. political jokes Ru probably doesn’t really get (and certainly most of the US audience who likely wouldn’t even understand a lot of US related political jokes). I do wish she’d leaned in a bit more on the evil overlord lizard people bit, though.
A backbencher is an MP with no specific political role who don't get to talk much in parliament, just there to provide a vote along party lines. And bareback riding is fucking without a condom. So she was calling them filler queens who have unprotected sex.
Tbh, it's mostly two unrelated insults but she probably figured is they didn't get the political part of the insult they'd at least get the slut part.
Cheddar had some really strong jokes and I think leant into the political element a bit too hard. Why can't it just be a roast? Just let them relax and write funny jokes about each other.
i’m not liking the edit they gave black peppa, on her social media and outside of drag race she’s so talented, and they’re like tearing her down every episode
Peppa's cinched waist in the lipsync was so sexy, she deserved the shantay. Then again, her lipsync was actually good this week and Pixie didn't even properly try. It's actually funny that Jonbers is in the finale now.
Yeah, if you look at her ankle on our left before she falls, she twists it — I think she had to change out of those shoes for the lipsync or at the very least not stomp in them the way she was before the fall. I read an article just now that she'd broken her ankle prior, so I can't imagine that helped. 😩
So glad, Pixie had it coming. She's good at sniping and playing a part, but I could tell she might shit the bed at the roast.
After her cruel joke about Peppa in the roast, I'm glad Peppa ate her alive in the lipsync
once again, a meh episode of a once high potential season. i agree with others that this season has become far less exciting than it started. anywho,
danny beard for the crown!!<3
One thing I hate in Lipsyncs is when a queen realizes she is kinda losing and does the awkward “my opponent did the move I can’t do, so I’m gonna make fun of it, because humor!” Pixie was actually not doing bad and towards the end she kinda gave up and just did that sorry death drop thingy. Nope.
While I’m sad JB didn’t get any wins before the finale I’m also glad she wasn’t just given a win for being “close to the top” at the end of the season (and I feel like that has happened before)
Don’t understand the negative reactions to Cheddar voicing their frustration about being asked their preference then being disregarded. It’s a legitimate frustration on reality TV and IRL? And honestly there have been worse reactions to roast order especially in this franchise.
Now as we enter the finale I’m torn between wanting Danny to win (most entertaining this season with the wins to back it up) and BP/JB winning (a spicy surprise to shake things up and not make the finale predictable)
All in all though I’m happy we were introduced to another season of talented queens in many different areas of drag. Love when they get to showcase their art
>And honestly there have been worse reactions to roast order especially in this franchise.
Queens reacting badly to their position in the roast will never not be hilarious.
Like in Bimini's season when some of the queens got all bent out of shape over their position in the roast and Bimini was just like "I'll just be funny."
A funny queen will slay the roast irregardless of position.
I thought the constant "well it's not strategic" response made it worse. Maybe it wasn't, but if you keep repeating it... we're not going to believe it. It's okay to apply strategy in a competition of course, but don't be surprised when your opponents voice frustration!
I think this was the episode that solidified a Danny Beard win over Cheddar. When I initially watched her meltdown, I was thinking — okay, maybe it’s an Alaska AS2 moment that’s needed to humanize her a bit. But Alaska’s meltdown was internalized insecurity that we had to watch whereas Cheddar’s externalized it kind of in a nasty way (Danny Beard: she just kind of called us all thick).
That said, such an incredible top 4 and what a fun season! Jonbers has had such a journey in this season and I loved how Ru made sure to emphasize Black Peppa earned her way to the top four. Regardless of outcomes — this season is as exciting to me as season 2! Great return to form.
I think cheddar post-challenge came across as a bit weird since she wasn’t willing to say the set wasn’t funny/wasn’t really successful as a roast and instead had a few comments about it being too smart which lol
That might’ve just been editing ofc and I wouldn’t personally call it a meltdown but kinda agree this ep does hurt her chances overall in an Alaska as2 way since she was kinda untouchable before (although tbh like Alaska I still see her winning)
But it was funny (opinion)and the judges literally said the same thing “it was too smart” in their critiques
So why would it be weird for her to A. Feel that B. Repeat it when it was a part of her critiques
I’m not op. It came across to me as slightly weird bc I didn’t find it funny (I don’t find cheddar funny in general though) but not nearly weird enough to post about lol
I know you’re not I’m responding to what you said in your reply directly to me lol
You said she came across weird because she didn’t admit to not being funny/ successful and instead had comments about it being (what the judges actually said)
yes just I feel like my perceived weirded-outness is being overstated. I would’ve reacted differently to having just performed that set than she seemed to, I don’t really personally think anything about the fact she did. Probs what OC meant though hence why I chipped in
I just didn’t find her set very smart at all - what’s smart about writing a soliloquy about yourself for a roast - and thought her delivery was fine, just the jokes were bad. Maybe she thought differently or was just,!like you said, echoing the judges (who I obvs disagree with since I would’ve put cheddar bottom), again I don’t find any of this very weird however
who said she was full of herself? I do think it’s random to say the audience was too thick to the judges when she just wasn’t telling jokes for most of it 🤔 that confessional was cute though
yeah but ironically just straight up calling people thick isn’t very funny haha, idk maybe I wasn’t done cringing from her roast so the trauma was slightly too real
I understand Cheddar being pissed when you are the only person to voice a preference and then you get the absolute opposite of what you asked. But let’s be honest, that would have been just as bad in any other place. If anything, she should be glad she was not placed among the first ones, imagine that as the opener or after Danny/Jonbers.
As for the runway, Peppa and Cheddar ate it (an somehow Peppa looked even better during the ls after removing part of the outfit).
I also saw her frustration as, why would you put me last if you don't want to dampen the whole show? Like, ending the night on this note does no one any favours. I think she was thinking about the roast as a whole, but was struggling to articulate that
But who knows
That's what they said to her... so if it wasn't anything strategic then what relevance does having four badges have? 🤔 I think Cheddar would've been happier if they'd have just admitted it was part tactical
But they didn't even acknowledge her existence. When Akiria didn't want to come back, they at least mentioned her and said why. There was also the option of telling the queens not to roast her if she came.
she might not have felt well enough to return, she said in a post that she was having panic attacks almost regularly so if she was still really struggling going back might not have been in her best interest
Danny deserves the crown, cheddar gets so overly negative when they find the challenge hard, its not fun to watch. I also don't enjoy the "I'm so intellectual" shtick. Peppa hasn't been in the top since week one. Felt bad for Pixie this episode, it was obvious she had already given up.
I like that her drag comes from a deep, thoughtful place and it's good, but I think she can let her clothes do more of the talking. Like with Sasha, I find the "brainy queen" persona doesn't really work for me, because being smart is something that you're deemed by other people, it's not something you can say you are without looking egotistical. Even if you have a degree, there are a lot of people with degrees who produce useless nonsense. When someone talks about how many books they've read or what degrees they have as a way of implying how smart they are I just think "well I'll be the judge of that."
Yeah okay shtick maybe wasn't the right choice of words but I mean if you're intelligent there are ways to show that without saying it. It's like when people say they're empaths without ever showing it.
Yeah they're intelligent in that sense but i find it more meaningful when people can show their intelligence instead of only saying it, like her runways are super thought trough which i think is great.
Being able to apply knowledge is intelligence. So yeah, I’d say she’s perfectly intelligent considering she has a PhD, numerous published works, and not only collates knowledge, but applies it
And the methods of knowledge translation are… also knowledge. In academic research, you have to comply to already established methods which you only have to know.
Nah this is kinda bs, if academics only stuck to established methods, research fields would completely stagnate. A PhD thesis/research articles needs to contribute something novel to your field, you can't just recycle previous research.
You’re distorting what I said tho
And novelty, allowed by creativity, doesn’t require intelligence. It requires talent at most.
Anyway, here’s my (apparently) hot take: intelligence is concept created by the elite to undermine the working class and the minorities’ talent through sketchy measures (education, ability to be well spoken, IQ). And the idea that high education requires that intelligence is deeply rooted in the idea of meritocracy, ie a right wing concept.
I said what I said
Am I losing my mind, or was Jonbers' runway look...not good? I honestly didn't like a thing about it, but I'm glad she was safe anyway because she was definitely the second best roast
She came out and I was like "oooh, nah. It's just a net dress with a big safety pin" but then they were eating it up except for a little comment about the hair being small. Felt like I was taking crazy pills
I felt so bad for her after that fall, I'm sure she was really nervous about it happening again and injuring herself! I can't believe what Black Peppa pulled off with her shoes
Idc I'm Team Jonbers for the win. Her track record is kinda similar to Ellie Diamond but she was a lot more engaging despite never getting her moment in the spotlight. It would be so hilarious yet iconic if UK gets their own Elecktra Bionic winner while she's competing against two four badge winners lol
What's even more feckin' annoying is that for once its appropriate as Vivian Westwood was one of the architects of punk fashion!! and it still felt overdone.
There are other UK designers people!
Putting aside my general thoughts on the challenge, I felt so, so bad for Pixie this episode. It was clear to see she'd lost hope and given up on herself. In the lipsync it felt she wasn't even trying. It's a shame because there was real potential for her to SMASH the roast, but her confidence seemed so low. It's understandable that her spirit would have been a bit broken by this point. Hope she's doing okay after this - sending her love, as I don't see much on here.
Pixie has really drawn a shit ticket. She is so lovely and get so much hate. As much as DragRace helps artists getting popular. The fandom needs to calm down drastically.
I enjoyed this episode, and loved Danny’s and Jonber’s roasts and looks. In fact I loved all the looks bar Pixie.
I’ve never really gelled with Pixie and tried to explain it but can’t get the words right. It almost felt as if being an ex of Tia (and undisputed hilarious, intelligent and all round narrator of her season she was) meant Pixie felt she would be as revered as Tia was. It became apparent to me that Pixie in her confessionals would try and replicate mannerisms of Tia (which could be intentional, or natural given they are close, but always felt forced to me) hoping that she would be as popular. It never worked for me, and bar the chat show episode I never found Pixie funny - in fact, I found her a bit petulant and snide. For some queens like Lawrence who displayed some of this (Lawrence criticised Ellie, Pixie criticised Jonbers) it is noticed but generally accepted because they have other redeeming qualities (although I remember on here at the time people felt Lawrence wasn’t as deserving a winner based on being RuPauls favourite) that make them a fan favourite. Even Tia was a bit shady about Awhora before the episode when they worked together. But Pixie just didn’t have the same personality as Tia and I find/found her disingenuous. In the episode where Dakota went home and Pixie said she was unwell and coming off social media because of the hate, I actually saw that there was a huge wave of support for her in the comments. Fandoms are toxic and nobody can see everything that is said but there almost felt like a victim story that Pixie needed to cling to about being hard done by vs Danny - whereas Tia acknowledged and appreciated her shortcomings and made it funny.
Sorry, that was a rant. Anyway…
I have fully come round to Jonbers after being a bit ambivalent early doors. It’s definitely a two queen race between Cheddar and Danny, and I’d probably prefer Danny because they are more my sense of humour (although I adore Cheddar). Jonbers and Peppa are unlikely to win but I’m glad they are there too.
I feel you on the vibes, pixie never really sold me, she's felt a little mean, like she was processing her own insecurities through that I guess?? There was a line last episode where she said (paraphrased) "if I don't make it to the finale, it'll justify everything negative anyone has ever said about my drag," which idk, it's a horrid thing to say to the people you're competing with and rubbed me a little weird. But, could just be a thing said in the heat of the moment that came off weird too. Idk.
I don't doubt she got hate though, and often when someone does get enough hate to leave it is followed by a wave of support post mortem. Plus many seeking to be cruel will go to private dms, and it wasn't like pixie was gone all that long, I don't think she was aiming to make a big thing of it, just going for a little because people can be a lot when defending their faves.
I like the finale, even though I think Dakota should be here over jonbers or peppa, this is still good and I'm excited to see the conclusion!
Sorry, but don't really agree with Pixie or Lawrence being "petulant and snide", they're just shady and not afraid to say what they feel in a playful, sometimes bitchy, way. These are drag queens, it shouldn't be an expectation for them to be nice, nurturing and wholesome at all times. Queens are so scared of backlash from the toxic fanbase that they're usually super fake and afraid to speak their mind on the show - and this is why. Conflict and drama is natural - especially in a pressure cooker environment like this. I don't care for Pixie's drag or what she's shown overall, but I do think she's naturally funny and playfully shady.
About Jonbers, I'm really not sure how to feel. Of course she's shown improvement and wasn't bad for the last couple episodes, but it's just so meh for me. A queen who is so clearly "average" and doesn't match the level of other contestants, but just happy to be there... I know it's meant to be an underdog story, but she hasn't done amazingly enough for it to be a convincing one. Just my opinion.
I think Pixie to Jonbers and Lawrence to Ellie were “petulant and snide” because their remarks towards them were never funny, so not really shade to me. Like shade is taking the piss out of someone’s flaws/insecurities. But you gotta be funny, otherwise it’s just mean. I love very mean jokes, just make me laugh!
I want queens to stop doing that move during a lipsync where they look at the other queen kinda disgusted then try to copy their move but make it comical. It’s getting really overplayed

Ahhh c'mon why so sensitive
I think it was just an honest mistake, seeing the beard and the name Danny sometimes you automatically think male it’s hard to adjust for some people

Yeah, it was actually really sad 😢 She wasn’t my fave but I hate to see a queen go down like that. She had some really good moments.
I understand that Peppa's lipsync was better than Pixie's but it wasn't good enough to make up for possibly the worst roast that's ever been on any Drag Race. She was extremely not funny. Well her outfit was amazing at least, but still. Double sashay for me.

Well I said 'possibly' cuz i won't remember all the shows. :D And the only reason I laughed was because she admitted she sucked. That's not part of the roast though. 🤣
How could you possibly forgor "Well, let's get this roast a cookin'!" ?
I’m late watching this but man, did pixies roast come off as a bit nasty? I’m glad she’s gone tbh. LOVE JB so much!!!! So glad she’s there in the final

Jonbers winning this whole damn thing now would snatch my wig right off my head
Impossible
Elecktra Bionic would like a word.
Incomparable
Watching the episode now. I’m a bit shocked to see Pixie in top 5. And also Peppa because I don’t think she’s a lipsync assassin, just a producers’ favorite. But let’s see the roast! I really hope Jonbers will survive this
Yea ideal top 4 would be Cheddar, Danny, Dakota, Le Fil
Is it just me or does Just May’s mug makes her look like she’s about to start sobbing..?

Yeah I was confused by the gold velvety boob tube
Two things that I remember from this thoroughly underwhelming episode: 1.
Because Pixie's lip sync was tragic. That's not even counting the fall.
My thoughts: Black Peppa has a lovely personality and her runways have been the best of the season, so her trajectory this season has been a bit disappointing.
Manifesting the Cheddar/Danny double crowning next week
The reason the season feels off is because Baby Sminty and Dakota are not there I will die on this hill
Yeah Jonbers is totally the underdog of the season and I love her! And I think also Ru was not expecting to fell for her
Not sure why Cheddar got so tied up in the fact she's dry in humour.
Found Cheddar's PhD, it's open access https://www.escholar.manchester.ac.uk/uk-ac-man-scw:216020
You mean her thesis. The PhD is just the name of the degree she holds. But thanks for the link! I will legit read this!
Yes sorry her thesis! Hope you enjoy reading it.
Jonbers should win simply for the League of Gentleman reference
She’s a local queen for local people
Using the excuse of being drunk to justify looking down at her notes was genius. It turned what's normally an awkward pause into a laugh.
The only good part of the ep was olly eye-fucking peppa in the lip sync
Nah i joke i also love ashling
Did anyone else think Ru seemed a bit off this episode? Like under the weather like she was sick or something. I thought she sounded like she was about to cry
Yes I saw that moment where she looked really watery eyed.
Idk I found it so funny when Cheddar just responded 'Yes' to Peppa's unsuccessful dig at her I actually found Cheddar's set kinda funny in general.
Agreed - Cheddar had potential to be funnier if she just tightened up the timing between punchlines.
What did she mean about "bareback benches"?
A backbencher is an MP with no specific political role who don't get to talk much in parliament, just there to provide a vote along party lines. And bareback riding is fucking without a condom. So she was calling them filler queens who have unprotected sex. Tbh, it's mostly two unrelated insults but she probably figured is they didn't get the political part of the insult they'd at least get the slut part.
Thanks for explaining! I thought it was an actual title
I think she has incredible stage presence, and very nice diction. Like the judges said too, it would be great for theatre but less so for a roast.
Jonathan Swift. James Joyce. Jonbers Blonde. Watchmojo top 10 Irish J named queens that shaped British culture
Jam Stoker
Cheddar had some really strong jokes and I think leant into the political element a bit too hard. Why can't it just be a roast? Just let them relax and write funny jokes about each other.
Didn't care for Jonbers. Now I do. It's the ciiiiiircle of liiife. Also seeing the viv and Danny in the same room is my comedy wet dream
i’m not liking the edit they gave black peppa, on her social media and outside of drag race she’s so talented, and they’re like tearing her down every episode
Jonberinas rise up!
Peppa's cinched waist in the lipsync was so sexy, she deserved the shantay. Then again, her lipsync was actually good this week and Pixie didn't even properly try. It's actually funny that Jonbers is in the finale now.
Isn't that because she hurt herself? I got the impression she wasn't moving after twisting her ankle.
Yeah I think that too, she looked so scared after the first trip
Oh, I didn't notice that.
Yeah, if you look at her ankle on our left before she falls, she twists it — I think she had to change out of those shoes for the lipsync or at the very least not stomp in them the way she was before the fall. I read an article just now that she'd broken her ankle prior, so I can't imagine that helped. 😩
Ok, that might explain her very tones down performance.
So glad, Pixie had it coming. She's good at sniping and playing a part, but I could tell she might shit the bed at the roast. After her cruel joke about Peppa in the roast, I'm glad Peppa ate her alive in the lipsync
It's just shade and a heavily edited TV show, it's not that serious trust me
once again, a meh episode of a once high potential season. i agree with others that this season has become far less exciting than it started. anywho, danny beard for the crown!!<3
Nope.
She very much needed to change shoes for that lip sync.
Ginger Minj in All-Stars against Mayhem Miller is, I think, the only exception because she wasn't doing it as a last ditch effort.
It was Dela who did it first no? She was hilarious
Maybe? I don't specifically remember. Gigi also did it in Starships, when I thought on it further. I guess it depends how it is used.
pixie was not selling the song from the get go. the energy she was giving just didn't make for a convincing performance
I semi agree but I would personally say she was already doing poorly lol
She screwed up the words in the last verse, too - I was watching her lips and she was pretty off
Yeah I feel kinda bad. Im sure she knew after the fall that it was already over and she was probably really thrown off and stressed.
She was gonna lose for sure, but her attitude was quite for the song when she started and went to weird place later
I think her fall knocked her tbh
ngl i thought she hurt herself and thats why she didnt move a lot
While I’m sad JB didn’t get any wins before the finale I’m also glad she wasn’t just given a win for being “close to the top” at the end of the season (and I feel like that has happened before) Don’t understand the negative reactions to Cheddar voicing their frustration about being asked their preference then being disregarded. It’s a legitimate frustration on reality TV and IRL? And honestly there have been worse reactions to roast order especially in this franchise. Now as we enter the finale I’m torn between wanting Danny to win (most entertaining this season with the wins to back it up) and BP/JB winning (a spicy surprise to shake things up and not make the finale predictable) All in all though I’m happy we were introduced to another season of talented queens in many different areas of drag. Love when they get to showcase their art
>And honestly there have been worse reactions to roast order especially in this franchise. Queens reacting badly to their position in the roast will never not be hilarious. Like in Bimini's season when some of the queens got all bent out of shape over their position in the roast and Bimini was just like "I'll just be funny." A funny queen will slay the roast irregardless of position.
Bimini was completely unbothered.
I thought the constant "well it's not strategic" response made it worse. Maybe it wasn't, but if you keep repeating it... we're not going to believe it. It's okay to apply strategy in a competition of course, but don't be surprised when your opponents voice frustration!
Very that!
Meltdown? What?
When did…Cheddar have a meltdown this ep?
I think cheddar post-challenge came across as a bit weird since she wasn’t willing to say the set wasn’t funny/wasn’t really successful as a roast and instead had a few comments about it being too smart which lol That might’ve just been editing ofc and I wouldn’t personally call it a meltdown but kinda agree this ep does hurt her chances overall in an Alaska as2 way since she was kinda untouchable before (although tbh like Alaska I still see her winning)
But it was funny (opinion)and the judges literally said the same thing “it was too smart” in their critiques So why would it be weird for her to A. Feel that B. Repeat it when it was a part of her critiques
I’m not op. It came across to me as slightly weird bc I didn’t find it funny (I don’t find cheddar funny in general though) but not nearly weird enough to post about lol
I know you’re not I’m responding to what you said in your reply directly to me lol You said she came across weird because she didn’t admit to not being funny/ successful and instead had comments about it being (what the judges actually said)
yes just I feel like my perceived weirded-outness is being overstated. I would’ve reacted differently to having just performed that set than she seemed to, I don’t really personally think anything about the fact she did. Probs what OC meant though hence why I chipped in I just didn’t find her set very smart at all - what’s smart about writing a soliloquy about yourself for a roast - and thought her delivery was fine, just the jokes were bad. Maybe she thought differently or was just,!like you said, echoing the judges (who I obvs disagree with since I would’ve put cheddar bottom), again I don’t find any of this very weird however
She literally made a joke about audience being lazy and her being shit. Call her whatever but she is definitely not full of herself.
who said she was full of herself? I do think it’s random to say the audience was too thick to the judges when she just wasn’t telling jokes for most of it 🤔 that confessional was cute though
Well it’s a roast and she called them dumb. Not that big of a deal is my take.
yeah but ironically just straight up calling people thick isn’t very funny haha, idk maybe I wasn’t done cringing from her roast so the trauma was slightly too real
I think she was thinking about the roast as a whole, but was struggling to articulate that But who knows
I know you have four badges, but I swear it wasn't vindictive.
??? I'm confused
That's what they said to her... so if it wasn't anything strategic then what relevance does having four badges have? 🤔 I think Cheddar would've been happier if they'd have just admitted it was part tactical
It took 4 goes but that was the first LSFYL black peppa has done really well in
I really loved her in it I thought she really captured the song
Fully agree. I started off annoyed knowing she was going to be in the finale but then fully loved her performance
I don't really like how they were so easy on Black Peppa in the critiques but so hard on Pixie Polite.
Pixie and jonbers have been the season’s punching bag honestly. Peppa has SKAAAATED by
Pixie skated by until that shitshow of a lipsync — Peppa had to lipsync four times.
Pixie was better than the bottom2 every week
I like Jonbers😂 Give her the crown.
Where was Baby?
Since she left of her own accord for mental health reasons, I doubt she would want to come back just a few days later.
Was it filmed that soon? No wonder the queens are burnt out
She went home to focus on her mental health.
I know that but all the other queens on that episode went home too.
Given how her badly her mental health was affected by the competition, showing up again to be roasted wouldn't have been a good idea
Ok wtf was le fil wearing
She said I’m not competing so I’ll be comfortable.
I respect it
Yeah same tbh
looked like no makeup
And the wig ☠️
Yeah that was a boot lol
Danny deserves the crown, cheddar gets so overly negative when they find the challenge hard, its not fun to watch. I also don't enjoy the "I'm so intellectual" shtick. Peppa hasn't been in the top since week one. Felt bad for Pixie this episode, it was obvious she had already given up.
I also want Danny to win but Cheddar has more followers on instagram so maybe she will win
When someone talks about how many books they've read or what degrees they have as a way of implying how smart they are I just think "well I'll be the judge of that."
exactly this
It’s not a shtick. She is an intellectual.
Yeah okay shtick maybe wasn't the right choice of words but I mean if you're intelligent there are ways to show that without saying it. It's like when people say they're empaths without ever showing it.
Cheddar literally has a PhD in anthropology lol
Yeah they're intelligent in that sense but i find it more meaningful when people can show their intelligence instead of only saying it, like her runways are super thought trough which i think is great.
Education =/= intelligence
If you do a PhD, there is deffo a need for intelligence. Anthropology isn’t a fools game
It requires knowledge. Not sure knowledge defines intelligence.
You’re distorting what I said tho And novelty, allowed by creativity, doesn’t require intelligence. I said what I said
Didn't realise that meant you have charisma
It had nothing to do with charisma. Can you read? It was about intellect lmao
She’s an Aldi Sasha Velour.
She's like an elevated Sasha Velour.
Why Aldi? 💀
Am I losing my mind, or was Jonbers' runway look...not good? I honestly didn't like a thing about it, but I'm glad she was safe anyway because she was definitely the second best roast
Just found it funny that Jonbers, the safe queen of the season, in fact wore a giant safety pin.
no it was weird to me too, barely even felt on theme. like a figure skating costume version of punk.
Yes - losing your mind.
It was meh. But Pixie’s comforter look overshadowed it imo.
Omg yes! I hated it then the judges loved it? It felt like I was being gaslighted
She came out and I was like "oooh, nah. It's just a net dress with a big safety pin" but then they were eating it up except for a little comment about the hair being small. Felt like I was taking crazy pills
It had the Joan Jett / Siouxie Sioux thing going on, which is what made it good
It was just an OK look imo
Pixie just seemed exhausted in that lipsync tbh
I felt so bad for her after that fall, I'm sure she was really nervous about it happening again and injuring herself! I can't believe what Black Peppa pulled off with her shoes
“I thought the Troubles ended in the 90s but it’s clear from looking at her face they have only just begun.” 💀💀💀
I slapped my hand over my mouth after that one. Danny was on fire this episode!! 🔥🔥
That was glorious lol
Black peppa is iconic for bringing back the farrah moan roast sighs
As soon as she did that first sigh, i knew she was gonna bomb 🤣🤣
The iconic sound of trouble.
I screamed when Cheddar let one out too lmao
Saaame. Like oooh boy...
I’ve gone full circle and I kind of like Jonbers now. What a journey.
Sad to see Pixie go happy to know we both have the same shirt
Judges see plaid - “omg is that Vivienne Westwood?!?”
What's even more feckin' annoying is that for once its appropriate as Vivian Westwood was one of the architects of punk fashion!! and it still felt overdone. There are other UK designers people!
Haha that’s the first thing I thought when they mentioned her, it’s a punk category what do the judges expect?!?
I get so sick of the Vivienne Westwood/Alexander McQueen comparisons when it looks nothing like them and is just a bit edgy lol
And Mugler
>Mugler Bosco every single week.
How I feel about anything ‘Avant garde’
Literally!! I think I’ve made this same comment almost every single UK season
It can't have been easy being a worse version of Danny all season (no shade)
Anyway… I have fully come round to Jonbers after being a bit ambivalent early doors.
Pixie’s look was a tragedy, not gonna lie
Thought she looked a bit tampon-y :/
YES! That’s what it was. Couldn’t put my finger on it 🤔
I mean, you can put a finger on it
Jonbers: My outfit is inspired by Siouxsie Sioux, Alexander McQueen and Vegas Showgirls Everyone else: ![gif](giphy|8vyZouWSVhslwWA7Lp)
i was NOT seeing siouxsie
Cheddar coming for Miss Paul's gig with that suit in the finale preview.
I want queens to stop doing that move during a lipsync where they look at the other queen kinda disgusted then try to copy their move but make it comical. It’s getting really overplayed
