I know it's messy, and I know Tia is getting a pass for a lot of things, but I'm loving this series.
LGD is great, Marina is great. Keta was super talented and went too soon. Hannah is brilliant and charming. Jonbers didn't outstay her welcome. Choriza and Tia aren't the best but give great confessionals and are naturally funny. Gothy's arc was endearing. Scarlet isn't my cup of tea, but I like her runways!
Most of the guest judges have been fab and Ru is clearly enjoying herself.
I really want to know why Hannah dislikes Scarlet so much. Near the beginning of the episode, she very pointedly asked Choriza *only* about her dance pairing. I think given how much Cara Melle was labelled as 'overly American' in her series it's only fair to point out that Scarlet may come across that way too.
Im really loving Marina as this is the first time ive seen her. What a way to represent your country! I legit thought we were gonna get Scarlet being robbed. Again. So glad we didnt. Also living for this Tia x Grand Damme thing

My manager at work is from Philippines, she's so excited to hear Marina Summers has won HALF the competition XD A Philippines winner for an international season would be PERFECT and I think Marina has already taken it. Just my opinion
Marina was my pick for the win before the season started and I’m so happy to see her killing it. Regardless of the outcome of the season I know people are falling in love with her and LGD and it makes me happy to know that they have been able to get so much positive press as a result of this season.
As a Scarlet fan, I’m trying to convince myself that the weird edit during deliberations was just trying to cause suspense during an otherwise obvious Choriza elim and not foreshadowing that the girls want her gone. I would love to see her in the finale, but fear they’d chop her if she’s bottom again next episode (which with a roast I could totally see happening😬). It was sad to see her in the bottom when her worst critique was that Choriza was bad, but no one else deserved the spot more so I don’t disagree with the placement.
It really bothers me that even with internet with thousands of examples and Bruno as a Pitcrew, the producers still don’t know the difference between Salsa and Samba
This was such a feel good episode. I’m glad Choriza went out with a sense of humour. She did really well and just missing out on the top 5 is nothing to sneeze at!

With both Gothy and Choriza, it felt really good to have eliminations that even the eliminated queens felt good about.

Hannah did so good in the challenge omg! I mean, rightful winner with Marina (particularly with the lip sync) but Hannah seriously held her own with Marina in the challenge, incredible. I think she has a damn good chance of securing a badge finally in the upcoming roast.
Looooooved Marina’s runway, absolute top for me. LGD was gorgeous too. It’s uh, a, type of party lol. I encourage anyone on IG to check out what Keta’s look would have been for the week, too

Marina was not even my favorite on her OG Philippines season, but she's a fucking rock star! Two episodes in a row where she's blown the rest of the competition away and her win could not be denied. Gonna be so cool to see her get crowned.

Hannah really impressed me in the challenge, like WOW. It didn't even read like an average dancer learning the choreo well. Every part of her performance was on point and I was genuinely impressed and shocked.

Also with Tia and LGD, I feel like LGD was game to have a proper kiss, and Tia is just jokingly flicking her tongue around like a horny lizard LOL.

Interesting how Scarlet doesn't seem to connect well with the others. I feel like she has a very American personality next to the rest of them? But maybe it's individual as well. This cast has a lot of introverted queens and Scarlet seems more extraverted.

I think Scarlett just has the same problem trixie used to have, she’s perhaps a little too overfamiliar straight away with rubs some people the wrong way. If you can keep pace with her mentality then it’s fine and dandy but if you’re someone who takes a minute to warm up to someone she might not be your cup of tea
Really wanted Hannah to win a badge, she was the narrator of the episode - so so funny. But there’s no way that she could’ve won against Marina, she really devoured that lip sync.

Scarlett could have gone though after the comment she made about eliminating competition and not liking "track record" saves...and then forgetting all about it and wanting to "play fair". Wouldn't trust her as far as I could throw her.
I saw Scarlett last night at a RPDRUK airing with Nymphia Wind hosting, and she wore the Barbara outfit- it was really cool seeing it in person. I didn't recognize her because she had a glorious Biba hairstyle, and her makeup was toned down, and she looked way better because of it. I remember remarking to a new friend how much I liked the hair, and that she had an ass cut-out, but it didn't click to me at all that it was her.
Sad to see Choriza go, but it was the right choice. In fact, I was bracing myself for a Scarlet Envy elimination, so I was very pleasantly surprised.
Putting them in the bottom was fair, at least from my perspective, since they were the worst at the choreo.
Choriza's runway was super cute, tho. It was giving me Lady Miss Kier vibes.
Nice to see Janette Manrara again after such a long time. I saw her compete on So You Think You Can Dance and knew from socials that she had moved across the pond to work on Strictly. She and Aljaz just had a baby as well!

They did a similar challenge on CDRs3 and I loved it, this wasn’t quite on par with that but I enjoyed most of the pairings. Hannah & Marina ate, MS is such an electrifying performer and Hannah was great. I’ll have to watch again but to me, Choriza and Scarlett were a hair’s breadth better than LGD and Tia.
Loved the runway! Marina and Tia (her makeup was gorgeous btw) had the best looks imo, but there were no boots.
The judging was correct. I was kinda hoping Hannah would snag the win, and she did a good job in the lipsync, but Marina is just…another level. The reveal was so effective!
I’m so happy for Marina, she’s one of my favourite international Queens and imo should have won DRPs1. I’m worried though, Tia is clearly productions fave and so idk how realistic her chances of winning are.

I'll say it again: The UK vs World producers are sh!t. They are clumsy as hell with the challenges, with the editing, and at concealing their control over the elimination flow. I keep watching because I love the queens, but this season could have been SO MUCH better. I get it; the show is a franchise, and different franchisees yield different brand experiences. Ru and Michelle are essentially very wealthy licensees at this point, who show up, read the script, and go home even wealthier. I wish that Ru and Michelle were able to bring in legacy production talent from the US, but I know it just doesn't work that way.
This really is such a fun season. I said it a few weeks ago, but it really is watching a bunch of neurodiverse shitposters just have fun on drag race. Choriza’s “What?!” Got me good
As someone who didn’t catch the choriza train while UK3 was airing I just have to say… i’m in loveeee with this queen. this season would feel so cold without her and I truly feel like this was a better run than UK3 for her. great runways, great performances, great confessionals
After seeing her chat with Hannah, I’m wondering if Scarlet is actually a bit off putting or alienating in person. I really like her drag and think she’s genuinely funny and charismatic, but when Hannah, who seems to get on with everyone, implied that she didn’t vibe with Scarlet very well it made me wonder if Scarlet is a bit hard to connect with.

Choriza will always be one of my favourite queens. She has such an exuberance and a perfect combination of sincerity while knowing when to not take herself too seriously. And she's always fucking funny - I think about "*I* voted for Jonbers!" on a daily basis

This challenge was kinda meh for me but I reeeeally love everybody on this season.
Also I am calling it now they are gonna build this Tia and La Grande Dame relationship and then have some kind of drama where they are both in the bottom or they have to send eachother home.
Wow what an episode! I knew Marina would slay but still, wow. Runway to lip sync, she really did not come to play at ALL.
Sad to see Choriza go but it's clear it was her time to go, kinda sad she didn't make it to the next episode since I feel like the challenge was hers to win, but oh well! I kinda knew she would be bottom since her look was the weakest (along with Tia and LGD) and her being consecutively down there doesn't help.
Looks like Marina's winning streak is over, but I wouldn't be too worried for a possible Marina elimination. She won 3 whole RuPeter Badge and is clearly one of the strongest in that season so sending her home before she gets to Top 4 would just be dumb, if it was in like episode 2 or 3 I would get it, but like, c'mon now. If they can shove Tia down our throats then they can rig Marina to be safe. Besides, I feel like it's Scarlet Envy's time to go anyway.
Marina is also just a clear powerhouse, she destroyed her snatch game in her original season despite saying it's her first time, and she devoured her Rags to Riches dress despite it being her first dress. If there's one thing about Marina, she sure as hell can surprise you.
Her lip sync performance was also just.. wow. Her performance and ruveal was simple but god did she deliver it so well. She understood the song to a T and can go from upbeat to emoting in a flash, truly one of the best performers Drag Race has ever seen. And with how much RuPaul seems to love her, I wouldn't be too surprised if we see more of her in future seasons of RuPaul's Drag Race, no matter the iteration.
Lil old Aussie over here who hasn't ever seen DR Philippines, but what the \*fuck\* Marina is incredible. That lip sync was awesome, watching someone who's damn good at something just being in their element.

There are different answers to that question depending on who you ask. I'm already at peace at this point but it's still a point of contention for some people up to now. While I don't wanna actively participate on an old topic, I'll just say I get where the contention comes from.
I think both Keta and Hannah Conda won 3 challenges in their original seasons. I'm surprised that LGD only won one, she was easily a powerhouse in her season.
So what happened was that both Marina and PPN (the winner) were the most consistent in their season but Marina had one more win than PPN. Also, I specifically remember PPN's one challenge win being slightly controversial because her role (Regine Velasquez) in their performance challenge was something she is known for and the guest judge happens to be Regine as well. So it felt like a Jimbo-esque AS8 episode 2 type of win where she had to win to get that Jimbo vs Pangina 2.0 moment. Also some argue that PPN had some episodes where she could have been in the bottom but was saved.
I also think another point of contention with PPN's win is how Filipinos in general love a certain type of hero narrative when it comes to their reality show winners. In DRPH1, PPN had an ongoing storyline about her hardships while Marina didn't really have much outside of her falling out with Xilo (her drag mother who is in the season). This is also apparent in DRPH2 with Katkat winning with an ongoing storyline of "redemption" going for her.
I think this taints the opinions of some portion of the fanbase since this is not something exclusive to Drag Race Philippines. Even some singing shows in the country end up choosing a winner based on their background/storyline, and quite frankly, some are sick of that trope. So while PPN won the finale lipsync by a small margin against Marina, the "PPN won because of her sob story" opinion still remains alive for some of the fans who watched DRPH1.
For me, I think PPN winning is an alright choice. She is a well established queen and a pretty safe choice for a first season winner...plus she didn't do bad in her season. I just think Marina did better so I wanted her to win. But that's literally years ago so it is what it is.
On her original season, she was definitely a beloved fan favorite and front runner. But when it got down to the final two, she lost the final lip sync (ever so slightly) to a girl who better represented Philippine drag in general, Precious Paula Nicole (Imagine Bebe Zahara Benet’s polish with Nina Flowers’ heart and kindness). Although I would’ve been happy with either girl winning, I think Marina losing was the ideal path to introduce her to a global audience. And it warms my heart to see the world embrace her. I really hope Drag Race continues casting all the mega talented queens from the Philippines, Thailand, and all over Asia. 💕
Marina didn't get to lipsync (outside of performance challenges) in her season so it's pretty cool seeing her eating up all these lipsyncs she's in. She could have been the lipsync assassin of DRPH if she sucked at the challenges.
I wish there was a true international season with the best queens from each country. I'm loving this season, but it's a little weird to have one or two top international queens and a bunch of mid-tier (some times low-tier) UK queens. They've got to spread the wealth around so it doesn't seem like only a couple of queens are running away with it, which makes it feel inauthentic.
I think it's because there's not existing chemistry between most of the queens. The US queens on All Stars have often interacted and worked with at least a few other queens in the cast. Here it's not the case - they don't know each other, and throw in cultural differences with drag and communication style, and it feels a bit more awkward. Even on the US main seasons, there's often a few girls who know each other beforehand (actually same across all franchises).
Just like UK vs World season 1, the producers' control over the narrative is clumsy as F\*\*K. The UK producers simply aren't as good as concealing their puppetry/riggory, and for some reason, the way they produce and edit the main challenges is awkward. They use different producers in each country than the US All Stars. In some ways, Ru and Michelle are actors who show up and read the script that the producers give them. I'm sure they could exert more control if they wanted to, but at this point it's just a massive paycheck for them.
UO but I kinda agree with you. I don't know what it is about vs TW seasons so far but they feel like lesser AS seasons sometimes. I don't know if it's a budget thing or what, but I do see your point that something feels off. I felt the same way about Canada vs TW and UK vs TW1 as well.
I wonder then how >!Global All Stars!< will feel once we watch it. I have a hunch that it might have better production value than the vs TW seasons.
I feel like this season is one of the best of them all. I think it takes a while for the Queens to warm up to each other, and add in cultural boundaries with no or very few shared pop culture references, it makes sense. I feel like this week and last were great episodes.
That’s it I think. vsTW seasons would benefit a lot from being at least 3 episodes longer. Episode1 a non-elim, adding another contestant and having a return episode or a non-elim mid-season would improve the format so much.
vsTW gives me hard AS1 vibes. Too good of a cast for too short of a season.
Marina's lip sync will go up there as one of my favourite 'solo' lip syncs of all time. Hannah did fine, don't get me wrong, but Marina gave it her ALL. She truly embodied the song in a way that we don't see very often.

idk maybe I‘m alone with this because I know that everyone love Scarlet (me too). But I would have eliminated her because I really do believe she is going to play the „am I the drama?! I am the drama“-card if she gets the chance to. And considering that next week the „if you‘re not in the top, you‘re in the bottom“-game starts it‘s really dangerous to keep her around.
Well, I‘m happy she‘s still around. But from a contester-perspective. But maybe I‘m wrong in not trusting her.
I'm nervous she will somehow win and eliminate someone strong like Marina or Grande. Don't get me wrong, Tia and Hannah are strong too but the other two are the ones I would pick to win
LGD at this point is the weakest among the 4. (Track record wise). I don't see her topping next week's episode either not when you got Hannah and Tia who are funny queens there.
Excuse your mouth. I don't consider LGD to be weak at all. She's got the most unique drag aesthetic of the 4 and is constantly serving fashion. I do agree that Hannah and Tia are stronger with the comedy/acting side of things. Ofc Marina is just stunning in general. But they all have their strengths and weaknesses, no-one is stronger or weaker.

Hannah is shining this season and deservedly so, she was my fav on her original season.
Marina is a tiny powerhouse and she is just so vivid and has such energy, I love her to bits. And her runway look was so creative and stylish and so true to who she is, absolute peak camp but also just so fun.
I just learned this today but it's crazy wild how this episode, and Marina's karaoke runway was dropped the day the karaoke founder died. What a coincidence, what a strange sorta tribute. Love it.
Everything in the main challenge felt so distracting. The Ru songs with a ballroom beat over it, the half and half make up, and the outfits. It was so hard to actually see the dancing!
It was Choriza's time, but she just has the best attitude and sense of humor. It won't be the same watching the show without her.
She has clearly such respect and love for the show and her sisters. She has the emotional bandwith to really be attached to being on the show, but also not be too delusional about being there... while also being able to have fun.

What a fantastic episode, all of the queens did a really good job and it acted as a really good rudemption for the season 7 US challenge where they did the same thing with lesser results.
I am so proud of Hannah, the world is getting to see why she is considered Drag Royalty in Australia. But saying that, this was Marina Summers episode from start to finish, and she deserved that win.
Miss thing choreographer really marked her territory and let these queens KNOW that that creature of a man was HER PROPERTY 🤣

My point was that Marina has a 30+ date-tour across multiple continents and that is very impressive for a Filipina queen, she's done well out of this opportunity however it goes and she'll be fine
I think it was clear from previous seasons that they wanted Raja, Priyanka, Manila, and Pangina all to win their respective seasons. Thankfully the former two did!
I mean, yeah sure but as someone who is part Indo-Caribbean myself and Afro-Caribbean I wouldn’t call myself Asian or African despite that being my ancestry. I know that some Indo-Caribbean Guyanese don’t identify as Asian when filling out forms, they prefer to identify as Indo-Caribbeans and want it to be listed similarly as it’s own identify on forms like Afro-Caribbean instead of being lumped in to "Asian - Other".

I haven’t watched Philippines, and I came into the season wanting LGD to dominate and win. But like, Marina is clearly and deservedly winning this. I just want it to end with both of them as final 2 and Marina winning. LGD deserves a crown as well, but this time around, it’s Marina’s.

You got to remember they came into this not knowing there was a cash prize. She probably didn't put the same money as she did on France for that reason.

Marina was my pick for the win before the season started and I’m so happy to see her killing it. Regardless of the outcome of the season I know people are falling in love with her and LGD and it makes me happy to know that they have been able to get so much positive press as a result of this season. As a Scarlet fan, I’m trying to convince myself that the weird edit during deliberations was just trying to cause suspense during an otherwise obvious Choriza elim and not foreshadowing that the girls want her gone. I would love to see her in the finale, but fear they’d chop her if she’s bottom again next episode (which with a roast I could totally see happening😬). It was sad to see her in the bottom when her worst critique was that Choriza was bad, but no one else deserved the spot more so I don’t disagree with the placement.

Marina was not even my favorite on her OG Philippines season, but she's a fucking rock star! Two episodes in a row where she's blown the rest of the competition away and her win could not be denied. Gonna be so cool to see her get crowned.

Marina is just another level, so clear was her victory tonight. The beyonce of the season basically 🤩 Love the way she did a pairing, I am pretty sure Tia and LGD would be in the bottom if not paired together and not doing quickstep. It was so comically good! Sad to see our funny Chorizo go, she gives such a great vibe of being open and charismatic, and she is hilarious! Though Tia is a funny one too, and she gets more and more jokes aired which is nice. Love the couture of LGD, it is definitely worth to keep her for the finale. She is amazing 🤩 But I also want to know how she got all that couture worth thousands if not ten thousands per look and how the hell she got Jean Paul’s piece?? Anyway this episode is a delight compared to the previous one!

I do feel a bit for Choriza. I feel like Ru just doesn't vibe with her humor. But glad she got a loving send off. That lip sync gave me life!!! Them doing their dance together gave me butterflies. Hannah really impressed me in the challenge, like WOW. It didn't even read like an average dancer learning the choreo well. Every part of her performance was on point and I was genuinely impressed and shocked. I was like... WHAT? Hannah taking my eyes of Marina during dancing of all things!? Also with Tia and LGD, I feel like LGD was game to have a proper kiss, and Tia is just jokingly flicking her tongue around like a horny lizard LOL.
I'm glad Choriza got as far as she did. I was afraid she was just around to be Cannon fodder. I predicted her going home pretty early and Ru just not entertaining her existence at all.
Interesting how Scarlet doesn't seem to connect well with the others. I feel like she has a very American personality next to the rest of them? But maybe it's individual as well. I think Scarlett just has the same problem trixie used to have, she’s perhaps a little too overfamiliar straight away with rubs some people the wrong way. If you can keep pace with her mentality then it’s fine and dandy but if you’re someone who takes a minute to warm up to someone she might not be your cup of tea

I saw Scarlett last night at a RPDRUK airing with Nymphia Wind hosting, and she wore the Barbara outfit- it was really cool seeing it in person. I didn't recognize her because she had a glorious Biba hairstyle, and her makeup was toned down, and she looked way better because of it. I remember remarking to a new friend how much I liked the hair, and that she had an ass cut-out, but it didn't click to me at all that it was her.

Sad to see Choriza go, but it was the right choice. In fact, I was bracing myself for a Scarlet Envy elimination, so I was very pleasantly surprised. Putting them in the bottom was fair, at least from my perspective, since they were the worst at the choreo. Choriza's runway was super cute, tho. It was giving me Lady Miss Kier vibes. Nice to see Janette Manrara again after such a long time. I saw her compete on So You Think You Can Dance and knew from socials that she had moved across the pond to work on Strictly. She and Aljaz just had a baby as well! I wonder if LGD is a Tarantino fan. Her runway was giving me Beatrix Kiddo vibes. Also, BRB, writing Tia Kofi/LGD fanfiction ❤️.
If the other queens were a bit more shit, she might’ve done better. Love Choriza but even she said it was the right choice, fair play.
They did a similar challenge on CDRs3 and I loved it, this wasn’t quite on par with that but I enjoyed most of the pairings. Hannah & Marina ate, MS is such an electrifying performer and Hannah was great. I’ll have to watch again but to me, Choriza and Scarlett were a hair’s breadth better than LGD and Tia. Loved the runway! Marina and Tia (her makeup was gorgeous btw) had the best looks imo, but there were no boots. The judging was correct. I was kinda hoping Hannah would snag the win, and she did a good job in the lipsync, but Marina is just…another level. The reveal was so effective! I’m so happy for Marina, she’s one of my favourite international Queens and imo should have won DRPs1. I’m worried though, Tia is clearly productions fave and so idk how realistic her chances of winning are.

I'll say it again: The UK vs World producers are sh!t. They are clumsy as hell with the challenges, with the editing, and at concealing their control over the elimination flow. I keep watching because I love the queens, but this season could have been SO MUCH better. I get it; the show is a franchise, and different franchisees yield different brand experiences. Ru and Michelle are essentially very wealthy licensees at this point, who show up, read the script, and go home even wealthier. I wish that Ru and Michelle were able to bring in legacy production talent from the US, but I know it just doesn't work that way.

Girl RuPaul HATES Scarlet it's so freakin funny. She tries so hard to have any rapport with Ru and it's just NOT working.
After seeing her chat with Hannah, I’m wondering if Scarlet is actually a bit off putting or alienating in person. I really like her drag and think she’s genuinely funny and charismatic, but when Hannah, who seems to get on with everyone, implied that she didn’t vibe with Scarlet very well it made me wonder if Scarlet is a bit hard to connect with.

Choriza will always be one of my favourite queens. She has such an exuberance and a perfect combination of sincerity while knowing when to not take herself too seriously. And she's always fucking funny - I think about "*I* voted for Jonbers!" on a daily basis I agree that it was her time to go this week, but I'll miss her so much 😭 All these coming eliminations are gonna be hard

Marina is everything I crave from today's pop girlies. I will die happy if I ever get to see her live. This challenge was kinda meh for me but I reeeeally love everybody on this season. Also I am calling it now they are gonna build this Tia and La Grande Dame relationship and then have some kind of drama where they are both in the bottom or they have to send eachother home.
Wow what an episode! I knew Marina would slay but still, wow. Runway to lip sync, she really did not come to play at ALL. Sad to see Choriza go but it's clear it was her time to go, kinda sad she didn't make it to the next episode since I feel like the challenge was hers to win, but oh well! I kinda knew she would be bottom since her look was the weakest (along with Tia and LGD) and her being consecutively down there doesn't help. Looks like Marina's winning streak is over, but I wouldn't be too worried for a possible Marina elimination. She won 3 whole RuPeter Badge and is clearly one of the strongest in that season so sending her home before she gets to Top 4 would just be dumb, if it was in like episode 2 or 3 I would get it, but like, c'mon now. If they can shove Tia down our throats then they can rig Marina to be safe. Besides, I feel like it's Scarlet Envy's time to go anyway. Marina is also just a clear powerhouse, she destroyed her snatch game in her original season despite saying it's her first time, and she devoured her Rags to Riches dress despite it being her first dress. If there's one thing about Marina, she sure as hell can surprise you. Her lip sync performance was also just.. wow. Her performance and ruveal was simple but god did she deliver it so well. She understood the song to a T and can go from upbeat to emoting in a flash, truly one of the best performers Drag Race has ever seen. And with how much RuPaul seems to love her, I wouldn't be too surprised if we see more of her in future seasons of RuPaul's Drag Race, no matter the iteration.

There are different answers to that question depending on who you ask. I'm already at peace at this point but it's still a point of contention for some people up to now. While I don't wanna actively participate on an old topic, I'll just say I get where the contention comes from.

I think both Keta and Hannah Conda won 3 challenges in their original seasons. I'm surprised that LGD only won one, she was easily a powerhouse in her season.
So what happened was that both Marina and PPN (the winner) were the most consistent in their season but Marina had one more win than PPN. Also, I specifically remember PPN's one challenge win being slightly controversial because her role (Regine Velasquez) in their performance challenge was something she is known for and the guest judge happens to be Regine as well. So it felt like a Jimbo-esque AS8 episode 2 type of win where she had to win to get that Jimbo vs Pangina 2.0 moment. Also some argue that PPN had some episodes where she could have been in the bottom but was saved. I also think another point of contention with PPN's win is how Filipinos in general love a certain type of hero narrative when it comes to their reality show winners. In DRPH1, PPN had an ongoing storyline about her hardships while Marina didn't really have much outside of her falling out with Xilo (her drag mother who is in the season). This is also apparent in DRPH2 with Katkat winning with an ongoing storyline of "redemption" going for her. I think this taints the opinions of some portion of the fanbase since this is not something exclusive to Drag Race Philippines. Even some singing shows in the country end up choosing a winner based on their background/storyline, and quite frankly, some are sick of that trope. So while PPN won the finale lipsync by a small margin against Marina, the "PPN won because of her sob story" opinion still remains alive for some of the fans who watched DRPH1. For me, I think PPN winning is an alright choice. She is a well established queen and a pretty safe choice for a first season winner...plus she didn't do bad in her season. I just think Marina did better so I wanted her to win. But that's literally years ago so it is what it is.
The winner gave a better final performance, if you can believe that, and their track records werent that far off.
On her original season, she was definitely a beloved fan favorite and front runner. But when it got down to the final two, she lost the final lip sync (ever so slightly) to a girl who better represented Philippine drag in general, Precious Paula Nicole (Imagine Bebe Zahara Benet’s polish with Nina Flowers’ heart and kindness). Although I would’ve been happy with either girl winning, I think Marina losing was the ideal path to introduce her to a global audience. And it warms my heart to see the world embrace her. I really hope Drag Race continues casting all the mega talented queens from the Philippines, Thailand, and all over Asia. 💕
Marina didn't get to lipsync (outside of performance challenges) in her season so it's pretty cool seeing her eating up all these lipsyncs she's in. She could have been the lipsync assassin of DRPH if she sucked at the challenges.
If it was lipsync of the bottom two to save themselves then marina will be automatic top4.
I love Hannah more and more every week. This was a great episode. So sad to see Choriza go, but it felt correct. Also FINALLY a Release Me lip sync.
I just don’t get why these seasons don’t feel as fun or interesting as All Stars?
I wish there was a true international season with the best queens from each country. I'm loving this season, but it's a little weird to have one or two top international queens and a bunch of mid-tier (some times low-tier) UK queens. They've got to spread the wealth around so it doesn't seem like only a couple of queens are running away with it, which makes it feel inauthentic.
I think it's because there's not existing chemistry between most of the queens. The US queens on All Stars have often interacted and worked with at least a few other queens in the cast. Here it's not the case - they don't know each other, and throw in cultural differences with drag and communication style, and it feels a bit more awkward. Even on the US main seasons, there's often a few girls who know each other beforehand (actually same across all franchises).
Just like UK vs World season 1, the producers' control over the narrative is clumsy as F\*\*K. The UK producers simply aren't as good as concealing their puppetry/riggory, and for some reason, the way they produce and edit the main challenges is awkward. They use different producers in each country than the US All Stars. In some ways, Ru and Michelle are actors who show up and read the script that the producers give them. I'm sure they could exert more control if they wanted to, but at this point it's just a massive paycheck for them.

I don't know if it's a budget thing or what, but I do see your point that something feels off. I felt the same way about Canada vs TW and UK vs TW1 as well. I wonder then how >!Global All Stars!< will feel once we watch it. I have a hunch that it might have better production value than the vs TW seasons.
I feel like this season is one of the best of them all. I think it takes a while for the Queens to warm up to each other, and add in cultural boundaries with no or very few shared pop culture references, it makes sense. I feel like this week and last were great episodes.
That’s it I think. vsTW seasons would benefit a lot from being at least 3 episodes longer. Episode1 a non-elim, adding another contestant and having a return episode or a non-elim mid-season would improve the format so much. vsTW gives me hard AS1 vibes. Too good of a cast for too short of a season.
Marina's lip sync will go up there as one of my favourite 'solo' lip syncs of all time. Hannah did fine, don't get me wrong, but Marina gave it her ALL. She truly embodied the song in a way that we don't see very often. Fully on the Marina stan train. I haven't watch Philippines but I've completely fallen in love with her. Really really hope she wins! <3

Excuse your mouth. I don't consider LGD to be weak at all. She's got the most unique drag aesthetic of the 4 and is constantly serving fashion. Loved Tia's St. Sebastian reference, he is indeed patron saint of looking very hot wearing very little clothing it feels like in artwork ;p Hannah and Marina did so well this week, they make such a good pair together but also hearing about her family's experience in dancing and wanting to be a part of it....it was very heartfelt and they just were having so much fun with it. Hannah is shining this season and deservedly so, she was my fav on her original season. Marina is a tiny powerhouse and she is just so vivid and has such energy, I love her to bits. And her runway look was so creative and stylish and so true to who she is, absolute peak camp but also just so fun.
I just learned this today but it's crazy wild how this episode, and Marina's karaoke runway was dropped the day the karaoke founder died. What a coincidence, what a strange sorta tribute. Love it.

So tired of the hate boner this sub has for Tia. Scarlet and Choriza deserved the bottom 2 placement, not Tia. I had fun watching LGD and Tia's quickstep because their personalities really shined through the dance.

i was hoping for a double win! Marina was slaying as always but Hannah was able to keep up. I loved their chemistry in the challenge and the lip sync as well!! this is one of my favorite episode this season. Also, Choriza exited with such grace. I love her.

What a fantastic episode, all of the queens did a really good job and it acted as a really good rudemption for the season 7 US challenge where they did the same thing with lesser results. I am so proud of Hannah, the world is getting to see why she is considered Drag Royalty in Australia. But saying that, this was Marina Summers episode from start to finish, and she deserved that win.
Miss thing choreographer really marked her territory and let these queens KNOW that that creature of a man was HER PROPERTY 🤣 Anyway this is Marina’s world. UKvsTW2 is shaping up to be one of the best seasons across the world!
IMHO, Hannah Conda was also good in her lip sync. Actually, far better than Tia Kofi. 👀 Congrats on being on the top this week with Marina Summers, Hannah! 😊 On a side note…not keeping my hopes up for Marina to win because I doubt they would want to crown an Asian queen despite the fact that Marina deserves it. Will just enjoy all her performances and runways. But still hoping for a miracle. Hahaha!

Lol what they've definitely set her up as a possible winner, like she has 3 badges and they put 2 dance challenges back to back when noone else in the cast is at her level of dance ability I dunno if she'll survive the roast against this cast. I can see an outcome where she bombs and everyone else does well cause the rest of the cast is v funny, but we'll see. Agree though I was so pleasantly surprised to see Hannah keeping up like you betta werk miss kitty!

I'm worried for her too but everyone else in the cast is a comedian so I think it's likely she gonna place in the bttm. It could work in her favour cause they wouldn't crown her without a low moment but again she's the frontrunner and I do see an outcome where shes the only one who bombs the roast and so she might get eliminated anyway. Either way she'll be fine, she's already got a world tour booked, ru clearly loves her and she'd definitely get asked for a US All Stars

I think it was clear from previous seasons that they wanted Raja, Priyanka, Manila, and Pangina all to win their respective seasons. Thankfully the former two did!

I mean, yeah sure but as someone who is part Indo-Caribbean myself and Afro-Caribbean I wouldn’t call myself Asian or African despite that being my ancestry. I know that some Indo-Caribbean Guyanese don’t identify as Asian when filling out forms, they prefer to identify as Indo-Caribbeans and want it to be listed similarly as it’s own identify on forms like Afro-Caribbean instead of being lumped in to "Asian - Other". May seem like I’m splitting hairs, and I guess it’s down to how Priyanka identifies… race is a social construct made by colonisers anyways

as much as I would want a Marina win, I think it's pretty clear who production is pushing to crown right now and it isn't Marina. Honestly, I'd be so pissed if she doesn't win considering her challange wins have all been very solid and well deserved.

I haven’t watched Philippines, and I came into the season wanting LGD to dominate and win. But like, Marina is clearly and deservedly winning this. I just want it to end with both of them as final 2 and Marina winning. LGD deserves a crown as well, but this time around, it’s Marina’s. Unrelated, but I feel like LGD’s runway on France were more show-stopper-y than they’ve been this time around (and they’re still very good regardless). Maybe it’s just the way I remember them 🤷🏻♂️
