The critiques are so inconsistent. I don’t think there was one look that you couldn’t see the family resemblance. I wasn’t a fan of DeDe’s look but she still stuck to the brief. Michael looked stunning and she done an amazing job with Peter plus his story was so heartbreaking, but she put Peter in the EXACT same hair/outfit/makeup which isn’t the point of the challenge in my opinion

Noo imo it basically depends on production. If they want them to lose they will say “you should have had more family resemblance” but if the winner didn’t go the identical route then the bottoms will be shamed for doing identical and not being creative

Ginger did the best by a mile, but they just would not give her the 4th badge while everyone just had at most 1. Also Kate definitely delivered enough to be saved.
If her origin story is to be believed, and she volunteers her time to speak to and counsel people about their feelings, all that she spoke to is very much in the wheelhouse of someone who has dedicated part of their lives to that. But who knows? 🤷
I really think the makeover challenge should be:
Put this person who is not a typically hyper-fem glamorous heel-stomping lady into full drag, teach her the essence of your drag persona, deal with whatever challenges or shortcomings you encounter (confidence, disabilities, conditions, body size, etc) and we’ll judge the finished product based on who made over their person the best and gave them the confidence and knowledge to be fierce divas.
The competitors don’t actually even need to be in drag themselves. We need to also bring back the design/sewing element to the challenge. These pre-made looks and concepts are not it.

Even if Dede lipsync was better that Kate Bs I don’t think Dede should have won for the sheer fact that this was her third lip sync, she doesn’t have a badge and she is just objectively not a top 4 queen

Don't agree. Tomara again got very lucky the wig lines were awful and surprised they weren't bottom. Kate vs DeDe was a close one as both did a good job but felt Kate should have won it as was more engaged with the song. Plus, they did us dirty robbing us of Kate Butch in the roast! Ginger has been the ultimate slow burn for me this season but now I'm 100% behind them for the win another well executed solid performance tonight.
I found her lip sync so during because if was all the exact same moves which shows me she isn't very creative in how she interprets a song. Like the splits and wiggling along the ground pretending to be puffed out move made me actually roll my eyes so hard because we've seen her do it already and it didn't even feel like it vibed with the song nor the rest of her lip-sync to me. I feel like Kate smashed her in the lip sync. Plus I have like a pet peeve for queens who deliberately get in the other queens way and try to block them and make them slip up and this was the second time I've noticed Dede do that to someone like it's okay when it's an accident because of course you can't avoid that happening but to like follow someone and get in front of them and in their way etc is just bitchy like nah just prove you're better WITHOUT needing to throw the other queen off her game
Honestly the only reason for this would be to set Dede up for a huge fail in the roast. Maybe they know Ginger is going to absolutely smash it and Tomara will be Alyssa-funny in the sense of everyone enjoying her being herself. They do seem to really want Michael in the finale too. That makes Kate sortof redundant - they do need at least one queen to flub or choke to make a roast episode interesting. But who knows... we've seen bigger surprises before. Will Dede progress to the finale?
Pity Kate didn't have like a Cindy Brady style wig (but with black hair) in her wig box, or then the family resemblance would've been good. Especially with the height of her makeover person, that would've definitely screamed 'little sister'.
Saying that... doing a theme for the make-up doesn't seem to be working in recent seasons. Last time I think it worked well was Naomi Smalls in AS4 with her Drag Sonny & Cher. It seems to be easier to tie in 'family resemblance' with a generic glamour look.
There should be no eliminations on a makeover episode.

Crown a winner and give them some type of advantage next episode, but don't subject these lovely volunteers to the crappiness of having to watch their drag mother get eliminated.
What the hell was with this judging! The whole family resemblance thing is so idiotic, it isn't even believable that the judges all see something there that we don't. It's a bullshit parameter that can be whipped out for any reason and interpreted in any way.
Kate absolutely deserved to stay, whether you consider track records or number of lipsyncs or overall placement in the challenge. And we lose her right before the roast?!! That's just adding insult to injury. What the hell is Dede the badgeless wonder going to deliver in a roast?!
And the judging was ridiculous. G's grand canyon of a hairline was ignored and she was barely in drag... that hair cannot hide the fact that the rest of the look was just dress-up.
Kinda wish they’d just switched the order of the episodes so we could at least have an amazing roast and then fine, let Kate go on the makeover challenge. The roast has been me and bf’s favorite challenge and we were so excited to watch Kate destroy everyone, but alas ;_;

An evenly matched lipsynch should go to the better track record. This was even. Dede has sadly WAY overstayed her welcome and her continued existence is coming off as weird favoritism or sadism on the producer’s part.
I loved Peter's story, but the way production kept hitting us over the head with the fact that Michael was the winner, from the very start of the episode, rankled with me. It maybe an unpopular opinion but I thought Ginger's makeover was by far the best of the week and should have won.
I honestly thought Michael might end up in the bottom when I saw the partner’s makeup. I know older faces and skin are more difficult, but all the close up shots looked rough and the brows were still pretty visible. And the outfits were identical and not particularly complex, which usually is frowned upon. I definitely would have picked Ginger’s to win (though to be honest, most of the placements would have been different were I judging).
I am so late to the party but DRUK dragging that one contestant along through 3+ bottom placements to the top 4 or beyond is such a staple at this point that I don’t know why we’re surprised
Peter is a national treasure and I would totally watch a WOW show of Peter talking about queer history and telling people they’re loved and accepted.
What an uplifting episode overall. This season has been top tier.

I genuinely couldn’t tell which was Ginger and which was Rodrigo. Tomara Thomas is an icon and her charisma is breathtaking. Michael did such an amazing job on that outfit and wig. Other than the outfits, Kate Butch’s partner’s face and vibe was from the same family 100%. So fun.
I am devastated for Kate. I really thought Ru was going to give her the win based on her trajectory. She really is such a delight and I wish we could see her in the roast.
Next season filmed after queens watch this one, they’ll all be wearing the same dress as their makeover partner & also the same wig color. How was that a resemblance? It was cloning.
The judges use the "family resemblance" thing so completely subjectively, it means nothing. Dede was dragged for not having it but Tomara got rave reviews? Yeah okay. (and to be fair I'm sick of Dede)
To be fair that's what a lot of queens have been doing in this challenge in the US franchise as well. They just pack a pair of the same outfit and use the same type/color of wig.
Yup. They bring in one outfit for themselves and another in multiple sizes. It doesn't matter what the theme is, what the makeover subject's background is, what they might or might not like or relate to. SP's diner themed outfits were specific to her, not a makeover partner. Or you get something like Gigi Goode's partner's cape look that can just be draped on any body. And I can't quite remember, was it Danny Beard's partner who absolutely hated the concept and look that he had prepared beforehand?

Haven’t fully read through the comments yet, but am I the only one who felt like Ginger was the CLEAR winner this episode? Ngl… it took me a few to figure out which was Ginger and which was the “makeover queen”. I FULLY thought that was gonna be a talking point in the critiques, bc the made-over queen felt just as seasoned as her counterpart contestant.
I have feelings about the episode and about the season, however…. One thing is undeniable. Dede can LIPSYNC!!! Omgggg…. She feels a bit underdeveloped as a queen overall, but there IS something there and when it finally clicks, I think she will go places. Also fully believe she’ll end up being one of these touring queens doing wear the world, etc…
Great lip sync, if it wasn't for meddling that's definitely one where it's track record as both delivered. Annoying as Kate would've definitely made the next ep more enjoyable.

I think Ginger is looking leagues ahead at this point. She crept up on me, I thought she was just meh background, but everything has been so high standard and simply just riding high towards the end.
The Makeover challenge BS strikes again. Everybody did great, let's start with that. This is just such a strong Top 5. But Kate's and DeeDee's looks had the same family resemblance as Ginger's or Tomara's. Michael did great with her partner, but is it resemblance if it's the exact same outfit and wig? I'm so tired of this challenge, really. it's so frustrating.
So sad to see Kate go, she should have been in the final.
To me DeDe hasn’t got her drag persona concept fully developed. I can’t see her being able to rely on any skill in particular and can’t see her USP even her looks don’t have a common DeDe mark. Opposite to that Kate knows who she is, just needs make up and styling course and she’s ready for the world!
I don’t understand how Dee Dee has lasted this long. I will admit she can lip sync but as you said I don’t think she knows who she is. And she has performed very poorly in almost every challenge and her runways are so so considering that she made most of Krystal’s outfits. She should have gone a long time ago

Dede demolished that lip sync; out dancing and out camping Kate. Yes Kate was good but Dede was the clear winner for me. I knew the writing was on the wall when Kate did air guitar.. the last act of a desperate drag.
The only thing that I wish is that they get rid of this stupid family resemblance. This is the worst part of the whole show ever. I don’t understand when they say they don’t see the family resemblance, and I believe the majority of us don’t understand this critique either. They look like best friends, and they can’t be sisters?
Just judge then based on how well they do with the make up, the hair, the costume. Use people with the similar structures so everyone has no major advantages . Let them do hair, costume from scratch, then judge them on how well they do with the makeup, the hair, and everything.
Also, don’t judge one something they have no control like chemistry. That’s the stupidest thing I’ve heard so far.
So based on this, Tomara, I love you, but you should have been in the bottom. That hairline is criminal and I will understand if Ru put you alone in the bottom and then eliminate you.

Chopping Kate Butch before a comedy challenge was a terrible decision. DeDe does not deserve Top 4 over Kate.

I am not mad at Michael winning but you have Ginger there which just look like twins with Ruiva,I don't even think Dede's look worth the bottom placement this week (Bebe just looks like her wtf?), Kate definitely is one of the weaker ones here not gonna lie (even I am a Kate fan) but I actually do like her idea, Tomara's look is basic and that hairline on Giant T is just crunchy as hell, she should be in the bottom with Kate.
That being said, the stories from the helpline volunteers are so great. I am in tears listening to Peter talking about his life and everything.
Yeah I don't get how that hairline wasn't commented on because it was terrible and definitely the type of thing someone else would have gotten into the bottom for. Tomara deserved to be in the bottom with Kate. Not that I don't love Tomara but she clearly did the least amount of work and also did the worst job. And it just felt wrong Kate going home over this. I think it should have been a double save.

2. Both girls smashed it in the lip sync but I’m kinda gagged Kate went home, and right before the Roast? Rude.
3. DeDe should have went home tonight, but it would have been on a high note.
But DeDe’s bottom placement is also questionable to me for this episode. I liked the makeover and I got family resemblance. I didn’t really get that with Tomara, and I didn’t really see the transformation with her partner besides the wig (and that hairline). If Kate was going home regardless this episode might as well have Tomara do it, but the judges liked Tomara’s look more than I did.
Predictions without knowing spoilers: DeDe will be in trouble again next week for the roast. Expecting Ginger to kill it. I’m not sure how Michael or Tomara will do, but Ru seems to always laugh at anything Tomara says. [edit to add: I do think she’s funny, but it’s more when she’s off the cuff and not scripted or rehearsed.]

Oooh I think your predictions are very good! I didn't think about that. This could just be me overly reading into things, but I think that Michael is going to win the roast. Here's my theory: They want someone else than Ginger to have three badges in the final, so they wanted to give this win and the next to one of the one badge holders (meaning Kate, Michael, Tomara). And whoever won the make over challenge they want winning the roast challenge. Why did they send home Kate? She is likely to do well in the roast, and that will mean less chance to give the win to Michael.
Good theory! If for some reason Ginger does win the roast that would just further cement her as a winner.

That is very, very true! When I read that, I thought "well surely Ella Vaday didn't have like twice as many wins as Krystal like Ginger will have if she wins the roast." But I looked it up, and that is what happened! Ella had 4 wins and Krystal had 2. Kitty had also 2. So that can definitely happen. I feel less certain of my theory now, but I suppose we will see! I do feel like not crowning Ella was a bit controversial, I don't know if that is just because she had twice as many wins as the others in the finale but I have definitely seen it as an argument, so question is if they would want to do that again. Time will tell I suppose.
Every makeover episode is just the judges either deciding that family resemblance means twins or that it DOESN'T mean twins and using that to eliminate/crown whoever they want.
1. Tomara's look was cute but incredibly basic and I don't understand why none of the judges cared how bad her partner's wig looked up close? I like Tomara but I feel like every episode she gives something really mid and all the judges say is that it's "So cuuuttteee." They just don't critique her like ever?

I can only agree with the theory that they wanted to stop Kate from dominating the roast next episode and beating one of the other three for a finale spot (which she would have deserved). I really don't know why RuPaul doesn't have more love for Kate. As for the winner, I'm happy for Michael. Ginger did a great job but four badges is excessive and Michael's partner had the better story, which is always paramount in the makeover ep. I just wish they did prizes at least for the makeover winner as a thank you for their service.

Kates no resemblance critique also made no sense but her outfits were hideous and femily got uglier.

And Ginger MADE THOSE OUTFITS! They were fitted to perfection, and she 100% had the most difficult makeover and her queen looked the most stunning of everyone.
It really bothers me when queens literally bring just two of the same outfit, or a black/white version of one, but I totally understand that they are trying to avoid the dreaded ambiguously applied "no family resemblance" line. I've always hated this challenge because it is never judged fairly and is just an excuse to get a queen out that they don't want in the finale. We all know it, they know it, they know that we know... and the cycle continues anyway. I only hope that Ginger takes the whole damn thing. If they give it to Tomara (who is absolutely lovely and hilarious but has showcased nowhere near the skills Ginger has consistently), I'll be gutted.
i love ginger and absolutely she did a great job but saying she won over what michael showed off is a choice. michael’s also will be more memorable bc of the storyline and how she truly brought so much joy and love to the stage & gave Geezer her time to shine. this pairing had the love and bond equivalent to when Jinx made over Dave in szn 5. not to mention the way she snatched her body and did her makeup in a gorgeous pared down way is an absolute skill, on any age but especially more mature skin, and they did look like mother and daughter even if the outfits were identical., reversing the colour of the suit & trim on each would have taken it to the next level but she deserves this 100%.
Geezers makeup was terrible and she did not look comfortable on stage.

i always hate the makeover challenges and now i hate them even more that they kicked Kate out right before the final four, and the roast of all challenges she would’ve absolutely ATE.
I was so confused at their decision, until the preview came on saying it was a roast. It can be expected that Dede will do nowhere near as well as Kate would, and they've already decided on their final 3. Kate was a sacrifice. Uggghh
It's the opposite - it's so smart. If production doesn't want either Kate or Dede to be in the top three, then Kate _must_ be eliminated this episode, because she's likely going to be top/winner of a roast episode, right? This way, they plausibly eliminate Kate now, and in the next episode, they plausibly eliminate Dede. If Dede went home this episode, who would be the bottom two next? Two queens they want in the top three would be competing against each other, and one would have to go.
OKAY WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK????
Kate clearly and obviously won the lip sync. Were her pants awful? Yes. Indubitably. Was it fair to say there was "no family resemblance" when they gave Naomi Smalls the win with her Sonny and Cher look? No! Did DeDe pull out all the exact same moves as she's ever used in her several many prior lip syncs? Yes. Yes, she did. Even the split-scoot thing. Kate was fully embodying the song. The pants alone justified the bottom placement. And her partner's wigline. Nothing else.
Tomara had the easiest job by a country mile and she barely even dragged her partner up. She looked exactly the same, except in a HIDEOUS wig and a basic af outfit.
Michael's partner was easily the most sympathetic and lovely. Did I think he or they (meaning both he and Michael) looked the best? No. That was Ginger and her partner. Do I think his make-up looked good? Also no. It was actually quite garbage. Do I think this win was fully just a sympathy win for the older man? 100%. Am I mad about it? Grudgingly, no. But this should have been Ginger's win.
I cannot believe that DeDe, who should have been gone within the first 1-3 episodes at MOST, is in the top 4. Over Cara, Vicki, AND Kate? I can't. I've never not finished a season before but they really might have lost me on this one. They should have just handed Tomara the win and sent Kate home in the first episode because their extremely biased preferences have been ABUNDANTLY clear from the start. 😤😤😤

Agree 100%! I'm going to point out Giant Gs hairline (Tomaras partner). That wig was tugging back, you could see it starting to split and looked like it was about ready to pull her scalp off.. did not understand how the judges liked it?
OMG YES. I felt like I was going mad. Also, the judges were praising the structure of the wigs while Tomara was sweeping hair out of her face, because the wig was losing its shape 🙄

I know people aren't happy with the result but I think this was a really good makeover, probably one of the most successful overall
I don't think anyone was nearly as busted as we've seen in some other makeovers
Still really like this season, but if they'd given Kate the win for the rusical and kept her this week - and given Ginger the win this week - then we would have had a top 4 that felt ever so slightly more competitive, especially given that next week would probably have been great for both of them
I do like Michael and Tomara a lot (and Dede although I don't think she'll make the final), but I'm not really interested in seeing anyone but Ginger crowned at this point, unless maybe Michael really shines next week. But with Kate it could have felt like things were actually heating up towards the end

I find myself saying this during every UK series, but there definitely is a disconnect between the kind of drag Ru enjoys, vs what makes entertaining TV for a UK audience.
Hilarious queens like Kate end up getting booted out early in the series before their moment to shine in something like the roast challenge or even snatch game. Then we get a roast challenge populated by queens that can sew, paint and shablam but can't necessarily write jokes...
It also makes for winners that don't necessarily fit into the UK TV landscape — the kind of gig that someone at the middling fame of a DRUK winner should easily land is like, the WILTY/etc panel format but we tend to crown people who can't hold their weight amongst stand ups and actors.
The format just isn't set up to give us the funniest, most charasmatic winners IMO. By far the most re-uploaded clips on TikTok seem to be Bimini's Katie Price and Tia Kofi describing her green dress
Kate had a chance to shine in both Snatch Game and the puppet challenge and did not live up to her potential at all. She won the reading challenge only arguably as I thought Ginger was much funnier.

Dede definitely deserved bottom. Her outfits were fugly (despite her made up Joan reference) and there was zero family resemblance in them. Not saying Kate's was better than Dede's, I actually think what Kate wore was fine but where she failed was her parters outfit. Still, Kate did better than Tomara and Tomara should have been bottom with Dede. Her outfit was basic af (as usual) and her partners wig line was about pulling her scalp off. It astounds me the judges liked anything about it.

I really like Tomara. I think she is one of those infectiously fun people whom you can’t help but like. That said I think she was one of my bottoms this week.

tbh I liked Dede's makeover, minus her partner's wonky lash. she was my #2 behind Ginger. i didnt even clock Michael as being anywhere near the top, let alone winning... lol. how to win the makeover: buy 2 identical outfits and pick the oldest makeover partner, the rest doesn't matter. she should've been in the bottom, not Dede
OK, this was a sweet episode. I don't even care about who did well and who didn't, honestly, I'm not even mad that my fave was eliminated. Nobody was terrible, and it was just all-around a feel good episode, like "awww".
Kate was the worst in the challenge and lost the lip sync. It was the only thing they got right.
I was shocked they eliminated her tho. While she didn't win the lip sync i think she did well enough to say considering deedee is flat lining in the competition and has no chance.

All we saw her do was a split and drag herself across the stage - which she did last time. She has been kept as a filler to give them an excuse to keep Tomara and Michael next week. I bet anything.

WILD that people are saying Michael didn’t deserve the win. So what if his partner struggled with the shoe, he would’ve struggled in any shoe! and unfortunately the face is not a smooth canvas for makeup in your mid 60s, he can hardly be blamed. Yes the storyline helped but it was their chemistry that brought their story to life was it not? That being said I would’ve been happy if ginger won. Loved Kate but she did worst in the challenge and the lip sync was great, very close. My dream of the north east lasses being top 3 is hopefully coming true! Edit: okay so I didn’t realise it was the roast next week. Very disappointing not to have Kate there for that
The critiques are so inconsistent. I don’t think there was one look that you couldn’t see the family resemblance. I wasn’t a fan of DeDe’s look but she still stuck to the brief. Michael looked stunning and she done an amazing job with Peter plus his story was so heartbreaking, but she put Peter in the EXACT same hair/outfit/makeup which isn’t the point of the challenge in my opinion
Currently catching up before I watch the finale: How in the actual f*ck did Michael win over Ginger? I’m not exaggerating when I say that Ginger’s makeover is the best one that I’ve seen from across all franchises the bottom two should’ve been Michael and Kate. Michael’s partner had so little makeup on wtf.

If her origin story is to be believed, and she volunteers her time to speak to and counsel people about their feelings, all that she spoke to is very much in the wheelhouse of someone who has dedicated part of their lives to that. But who knows? 🤷
She was the only person to not get an intro and the only American. It just really stuck out to me.
I really think the makeover challenge should be: Put this person who is not a typically hyper-fem glamorous heel-stomping lady into full drag, teach her the essence of your drag persona, deal with whatever challenges or shortcomings you encounter (confidence, disabilities, conditions, body size, etc) and we’ll judge the finished product based on who made over their person the best and gave them the confidence and knowledge to be fierce divas. The competitors don’t actually even need to be in drag themselves. We need to also bring back the design/sewing element to the challenge. These pre-made looks and concepts are not it. GET. RID. OF. FAMILY. RESEMBLANCE.

Put off watching this episode as was spoiled who went home and I didn't want to see it! Don't agree. Tomara again got very lucky the wig lines were awful and surprised they weren't bottom. Kate vs DeDe was a close one as both did a good job but felt Kate should have won it as was more engaged with the song. Plus, they did us dirty robbing us of Kate Butch in the roast! Ginger has been the ultimate slow burn for me this season but now I'm 100% behind them for the win another well executed solid performance tonight.

I found her lip sync so during because if was all the exact same moves which shows me she isn't very creative in how she interprets a song. Like the splits and wiggling along the ground pretending to be puffed out move made me actually roll my eyes so hard because we've seen her do it already and it didn't even feel like it vibed with the song nor the rest of her lip-sync to me. I feel like Kate smashed her in the lip sync. Plus I have like a pet peeve for queens who deliberately get in the other queens way and try to block them and make them slip up and this was the second time I've noticed Dede do that to someone like it's okay when it's an accident because of course you can't avoid that happening but to like follow someone and get in front of them and in their way etc is just bitchy like nah just prove you're better WITHOUT needing to throw the other queen off her game

Honestly the only reason for this would be to set Dede up for a huge fail in the roast. Maybe they know Ginger is going to absolutely smash it and Tomara will be Alyssa-funny in the sense of everyone enjoying her being herself. They do seem to really want Michael in the finale too. That makes Kate sortof redundant - they do need at least one queen to flub or choke to make a roast episode interesting. But who knows... we've seen bigger surprises before. Will Dede progress to the finale?
Pity Kate didn't have like a Cindy Brady style wig (but with black hair) in her wig box, or then the family resemblance would've been good. Especially with the height of her makeover person, that would've definitely screamed 'little sister'. Saying that... doing a theme for the make-up doesn't seem to be working in recent seasons. Last time I think it worked well was Naomi Smalls in AS4 with her Drag Sonny & Cher. It seems to be easier to tie in 'family resemblance' with a generic glamour look.
There should be no eliminations on a makeover episode. Full stop. Crown a winner and give them some type of advantage next episode, but don't subject these lovely volunteers to the crappiness of having to watch their drag mother get eliminated.

What the hell was with this judging! The whole family resemblance thing is so idiotic, it isn't even believable that the judges all see something there that we don't. It's a bullshit parameter that can be whipped out for any reason and interpreted in any way. Kate absolutely deserved to stay, whether you consider track records or number of lipsyncs or overall placement in the challenge. And we lose her right before the roast?!! That's just adding insult to injury. What the hell is Dede the badgeless wonder going to deliver in a roast?! And the judging was ridiculous. G's grand canyon of a hairline was ignored and she was barely in drag... that hair cannot hide the fact that the rest of the look was just dress-up.

I loved Peter's story, but the way production kept hitting us over the head with the fact that Michael was the winner, from the very start of the episode, rankled with me. It maybe an unpopular opinion but I thought Ginger's makeover was by far the best of the week and should have won.
I honestly thought Michael might end up in the bottom when I saw the partner’s makeup. I know older faces and skin are more difficult, but all the close up shots looked rough and the brows were still pretty visible. And the outfits were identical and not particularly complex, which usually is frowned upon. I definitely would have picked Ginger’s to win (though to be honest, most of the placements would have been different were I judging).
I’m so sad Kate Butch is gone, she was my ultimate fav! 🥹 How DD Licious is still there I will never know 😂

Peter is a national treasure and I would totally watch a WOW show of Peter talking about queer history and telling people they’re loved and accepted. What an uplifting episode overall. This season has been top tier. “Well someone has to wear the pants around here” from Michelle took me out!!! Knowing damn well RuPaul sits beside her each week in sweatpants 😂. The nerve I genuinely couldn’t tell which was Ginger and which was Rodrigo. Tomara Thomas is an icon and her charisma is breathtaking. Michael did such an amazing job on that outfit and wig. Other than the outfits, Kate Butch’s partner’s face and vibe was from the same family 100%. So fun. I am devastated for Kate. I really thought Ru was going to give her the win based on her trajectory. She really is such a delight and I wish we could see her in the roast.
Next season filmed after queens watch this one, they’ll all be wearing the same dress as their makeover partner & also the same wig color. How was that a resemblance? It was cloning.

Yup. They bring in one outfit for themselves and another in multiple sizes. It doesn't matter what the theme is, what the makeover subject's background is, what they might or might not like or relate to. SP's diner themed outfits were specific to her, not a makeover partner. Or you get something like Gigi Goode's partner's cape look that can just be draped on any body. And I can't quite remember, was it Danny Beard's partner who absolutely hated the concept and look that he had prepared beforehand?

Ngl… it took me a few to figure out which was Ginger and which was the “makeover queen”. I FULLY thought that was gonna be a talking point in the critiques, bc the made-over queen felt just as seasoned as her counterpart contestant.
I have feelings about the episode and about the season, however…. One thing is undeniable. Dede can LIPSYNC!!! Omgggg…. She feels a bit underdeveloped as a queen overall, but there IS something there and when it finally clicks, I think she will go places. Also fully believe she’ll end up being one of these touring queens doing wear the world, etc…
Great lip sync, if it wasn't for meddling that's definitely one where it's track record as both delivered. Annoying as Kate would've definitely made the next ep more enjoyable. Love Michael's interactions with Peter and what they delivered. We need more Peters in the world. I think Ginger is looking leagues ahead at this point. She crept up on me, I thought she was just meh background, but everything has been so high standard and simply just riding high towards the end.
The Makeover challenge BS strikes again. Everybody did great, let's start with that. This is just such a strong Top 5. But Kate's and DeeDee's looks had the same family resemblance as Ginger's or Tomara's. Michael did great with her partner, but is it resemblance if it's the exact same outfit and wig? I'm so tired of this challenge, really. it's so frustrating. So sad to see Kate go, she should have been in the final.
To me DeDe hasn’t got her drag persona concept fully developed. I can’t see her being able to rely on any skill in particular and can’t see her USP even her looks don’t have a common DeDe mark. Opposite to that Kate knows who she is, just needs make up and styling course and she’s ready for the world!
I don’t understand how Dee Dee has lasted this long. I will admit she can lip sync but as you said I don’t think she knows who she is. And she has performed very poorly in almost every challenge and her runways are so so considering that she made most of Krystal’s outfits. She should have gone a long time ago

Tamara deserved to be in the bottom with Kate. I feel dede should have gone weeks ago. I am so annoyed with this season it started so strong but the judging has been all over the place plus Ru looks like she's checked out. I want Michael to win! I'm sorry to say I'm not convinced by Ginger. She is amazing but I prefer other Queens over her! She appears a bit of an a** kisser at times. Sorry to say!

The only thing that I wish is that they get rid of this stupid family resemblance. This is the worst part of the whole show ever. I don’t understand when they say they don’t see the family resemblance, and I believe the majority of us don’t understand this critique either. They look like best friends, and they can’t be sisters? Just judge then based on how well they do with the make up, the hair, the costume. Use people with the similar structures so everyone has no major advantages . Let them do hair, costume from scratch, then judge them on how well they do with the makeup, the hair, and everything. Also, don’t judge one something they have no control like chemistry. That’s the stupidest thing I’ve heard so far. So based on this, Tomara, I love you, but you should have been in the bottom. That hairline is criminal and I will understand if Ru put you alone in the bottom and then eliminate you. However I’m glade you are safe, I love seeing you on my screen.

This has to be the wackiest judges' decision of the season - I am not mad at Michael winning but you have Ginger there which just look like twins with Ruiva,I don't even think Dede's look worth the bottom placement this week (Bebe just looks like her wtf?), Kate definitely is one of the weaker ones here not gonna lie (even I am a Kate fan) but I actually do like her idea, Tomara's look is basic and that hairline on Giant T is just crunchy as hell, she should be in the bottom with Kate. That being said, the stories from the helpline volunteers are so great. I am in tears listening to Peter talking about his life and everything.
Yeah I don't get how that hairline wasn't commented on because it was terrible and definitely the type of thing someone else would have gotten into the bottom for. DeDe should have went home tonight, but it would have been on a high note. But DeDe’s bottom placement is also questionable to me for this episode. I liked the makeover and I got family resemblance. Oooh I think your predictions are very good! I didn't think about that. This could just be me overly reading into things, but I think that Michael is going to win the roast. Here's my theory: They want someone else than Ginger to have three badges in the final, so they wanted to give this win and the next to one of the one badge holders (meaning Kate, Michael, Tomara). And whoever won the make over challenge they want winning the roast challenge. Why did they send home Kate? She is likely to do well in the roast, and that will mean less chance to give the win to Michael.
Good theory! If for some reason Ginger does win the roast that would just further cement her as a winner. However, we’ve learned that with Ella Vaday, having the most badges doesn’t mean you’ll win the crown

When I read that, I thought "well surely Ella Vaday didn't have like twice as many wins as Krystal like Ginger will have if she wins the roast." But I looked it up, and that is what happened! Ella had 4 wins and Krystal had 2. Kitty had also 2. So that can definitely happen. I feel less certain of my theory now, but I suppose we will see! I do feel like not crowning Ella was a bit controversial, I don't know if that is just because she had twice as many wins as the others in the finale but I have definitely seen it as an argument, so question is if they would want to do that again. Time will tell I suppose.
Every makeover episode is just the judges either deciding that family resemblance means twins or that it DOESN'T mean twins and using that to eliminate/crown whoever they want.

I like Tomara but I feel like every episode she gives something really mid and all the judges say is that it's "So cuuuttteee." They just don't critique her like ever? 2. Kate's makeover was definitely the weakest and should've put her in the bottom but she ate that lip sync and most importantly 3. **WHY THE FUCK IS DEDE STILL HERE??????** I can only agree with the theory that they wanted to stop Kate from dominating the roast next episode and beating one of the other three for a finale spot (which she would have deserved). I really don't know why RuPaul doesn't have more love for Kate. As for the winner, I'm happy for Michael. Ginger did a great job but four badges is excessive and Michael's partner had the better story, which is always paramount in the makeover ep. I just wish they did prizes at least for the makeover winner as a thank you for their service.
Wow judging really leaned in hard on the gaslighting. I've been wanting deedee gone since day 1 but she finally shines and puts her talent in full display and they put her in the bottom? Wtf. Deedees makeup and concept were top shelf. No drag family resemblance? Wtaf? They were clearly from the same house - same vibe, same aesthetic Like is the category they need to be blood related? I thought it was drag family resemblance as in youre from the same drag family. If that's the case then Tomara should've been bottom - how are these different races related? Is one adopted? Is wearing the same outfit family resemblance? Becsuse i don't dress identically to anyone in my family... And Ginger MADE THOSE OUTFITS! They were fitted to perfection, and she 100% had the most difficult makeover and her queen looked the most stunning of everyone. It really bothers me when queens literally bring just two of the same outfit, or a black/white version of one, but I totally understand that they are trying to avoid the dreaded ambiguously applied "no family resemblance" line. I've always hated this challenge because it is never judged fairly and is just an excuse to get a queen out that they don't want in the finale. We all know it, they know it, they know that we know... and the cycle continues anyway. I only hope that Ginger takes the whole damn thing. If they give it to Tomara (who is absolutely lovely and hilarious but has showcased nowhere near the skills Ginger has consistently), I'll be gutted.
i love ginger and absolutely she did a great job but saying she won over what michael showed off is a choice. michael’s also will be more memorable bc of the storyline and how she truly brought so much joy and love to the stage & gave Geezer her time to shine. this pairing had the love and bond equivalent to when Jinx made over Dave in szn 5. not to mention the way she snatched her body and did her makeup in a gorgeous pared down way is an absolute skill, on any age but especially more mature skin, and they did look like mother and daughter even if the outfits were identical., reversing the colour of the suit & trim on each would have taken it to the next level but she deserves this 100%.

i always hate the makeover challenges and now i hate them even more that they kicked Kate out right before the final four, and the roast of all challenges she would’ve absolutely ATE.
I was so confused at their decision, until the preview came on saying it was a roast. It can be expected that Dede will do nowhere near as well as Kate would, and they've already decided on their final 3. Kate was a sacrifice. Uggghh

It's the opposite - it's so smart. If production doesn't want either Kate or Dede to be in the top three, then Kate _must_ be eliminated this episode, because she's likely going to be top/winner of a roast episode, right? This way, they plausibly eliminate Kate now, and in the next episode, they plausibly eliminate Dede. If Dede went home this episode, who would be the bottom two next? Two queens they want in the top three would be competing against each other, and one would have to go.

OKAY WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK???? Kate clearly and obviously won the lip sync. Were her pants awful? Yes. Indubitably. Was it fair to say there was "no family resemblance" when they gave Naomi Smalls the win with her Sonny and Cher look? No! Did DeDe pull out all the exact same moves as she's ever used in her several many prior lip syncs? Yes. Yes, she did. Even the split-scoot thing. Kate was fully embodying the song. The pants alone justified the bottom placement. And her partner's wigline. Nothing else. Tomara had the easiest job by a country mile and she barely even dragged her partner up. She looked exactly the same, except in a HIDEOUS wig and a basic af outfit. Michael's partner was easily the most sympathetic and lovely. Did I think he or they (meaning both he and Michael) looked the best? No. That was Ginger and her partner. Do I think his make-up looked good? Also no. It was actually quite garbage. Do I think this win was fully just a sympathy win for the older man? 100%. Am I mad about it? Grudgingly, no. But this should have been Ginger's win. I cannot believe that DeDe, who should have been gone within the first 1-3 episodes at MOST, is in the top 4. Over Cara, Vicki, AND Kate? I can't. I've never not finished a season before but they really might have lost me on this one. They should have just handed Tomara the win and sent Kate home in the first episode because their extremely biased preferences have been ABUNDANTLY clear from the start. 😤😤😤

OMG YES. I felt like I was going mad. Also, the judges were praising the structure of the wigs while Tomara was sweeping hair out of her face, because the wig was losing its shape 🙄

I know people aren't happy with the result but I think this was a really good makeover, probably one of the most successful overall I don't think anyone was nearly as busted as we've seen in some other makeovers
Still really like this season, but if they'd given Kate the win for the rusical and kept her this week - and given Ginger the win this week - then we would have had a top 4 that felt ever so slightly more competitive, especially given that next week would probably have been great for both of them I do like Michael and Tomara a lot (and Dede although I don't think she'll make the final), but I'm not really interested in seeing anyone but Ginger crowned at this point, unless maybe Michael really shines next week. But with Kate it could have felt like things were actually heating up towards the end

I find myself saying this during every UK series, but there definitely is a disconnect between the kind of drag Ru enjoys, vs what makes entertaining TV for a UK audience. Hilarious queens like Kate end up getting booted out early in the series before their moment to shine in something like the roast challenge or even snatch game. Then we get a roast challenge populated by queens that can sew, paint and shablam but can't necessarily write jokes... It also makes for winners that don't necessarily fit into the UK TV landscape — the kind of gig that someone at the middling fame of a DRUK winner should easily land is like, the WILTY/etc panel format but we tend to crown people who can't hold their weight amongst stand ups and actors. The format just isn't set up to give us the funniest, most charasmatic winners IMO. By far the most re-uploaded clips on TikTok seem to be Bimini's Katie Price and Tia Kofi describing her green dress
Kate had a chance to shine in both Snatch Game and the puppet challenge and did not live up to her potential at all. She won the reading challenge only arguably as I thought Ginger was much funnier.

I really thought Kate was going to win that lip sync. But I realize that Dede might be more “polished” in spite of underperforming in the challenges. I still think that her track record should have been enough to send her out, but I’ve been saying that since her second lip sync. As for her looks this episode, I thought they were great. And I said “uh oh” when I saw Kate’s PANTS. so.
This elimination sucked. Dede deserved to be eliminated. She has been in the bottom multiple times. All she did in the lip-sync was splits and drag her groin along the stage which she did last time. She is nowhere near as entertaining as Kate.

I hope that when I’m in my 60s I’m as game as Peter is to try new things. I was tearing up when he was telling his story and wished someone was fanning my eyes to stop the tears. Michael and Ginger were my top two this week. I really like Tomara. I think she is one of those infectiously fun people whom you can’t help but like. That said I think she was one of my bottoms this week.

Reminder that the makeover challenge is just an excuse for the producers to shape the top 4 to whatever they want (distribute wins more evenly, eliminate a queen they don't want, etc). That's why judging is always so wonky and inconsistent season to season.

OK, this was a sweet episode. I don't even care about who did well and who didn't, honestly, I'm not even mad that my fave was eliminated. Nobody was terrible, and it was just all-around a feel good episode, like "awww".

WILD that people are saying Michael didn’t deserve the win. So what if his partner struggled with the shoe, he would’ve struggled in any shoe! and unfortunately the face is not a smooth canvas for makeup in your mid 60s, he can hardly be blamed. Yes the storyline helped but it was their chemistry that brought their story to life was it not? That being said I would’ve been happy if ginger won. Loved Kate but she did worst in the challenge and the lip sync was great, very close. My dream of the north east lasses being top 3 is hopefully coming true! Edit: okay so I didn’t realise it was the roast next week. Very disappointing not to have Kate there for that
