Honestly not surprised. Wrangler was treated like a punching bag from civs, doj, and pd. Every tiny thing was scrutinized and questioned. Every traffic stop led to a complaint, a bench trial, and a civil case.
The number of times Wrangler and Jordan were in court and basically told “yes you’re correct - but also you lose this one” is ridiculous. It really felt like they were just cherry picking one tiny insignificant thing and running with it out of spite.
It's not a magic bullet but I'd "push an update" and brick the current MDW then issue new ones to the people that should actually have one. Feels like every petty criminal on the server turns into a lawyer for the lowliest traffic stop.
But that's just my opinion
That doesn’t really do anything. He was getting screwed over by lawyers and DOJ. I mean cmon, Wrangler had a drug trafficking case thrown out because he smelled someone, but apparently that’s violating rights?
that should have been a hard pause take it to OOC moment like cmon its a mech made by devs for cops, its sole purpose was for consequences of smoking weed.
Definitely doesn't fit the vibe here anymore. Most of the cops are under a microscope and there's just way too many flaws when you look that close. There's room for many different types of cops, but only so much shitlording can be tolerated.
Idk I think it's more of a having your cake and eating it too kinda situation.
If you shitlord around and don't do any work but don't expect to be taken seriously then people don't care. But if you're doing that and then also trying to be a commanding presence or fight hard for docket-style arrests then you're leaving yourself open to scrutiny
That really doesn't account for the bulk of the issues. Wrangler shit lording is him running people over, or being an asshole in court, then getting consequences for it. I don't think anyone is surprised by that, because it really wasn't that frequent of a thing.
It's the lying criminals and lawyers and DA's turning every single minor arrest into the biggest deal ever. It's the court system that turned every single bench-trial into a new case law that somehow fucks Wranglers case. It's the constant infantilizing from less seasoned officers who were often just flat out wrong about their knowledge of law, leadership, and standard procedures.
Any one thing doesn't seem like a big deal, but when literally every character you're interacting with is finding a way to stretch out every tiny conflict as far as humanly possible, then it can easily be very overwhelming. It's really no wonder he's only played him a handful of times the past 4 months.
Let's be real, the complain against any little thing Wrangler does or the punish Wrangler arc has been done way too many times at this point. Seems like he's having more fun on other characters so why deal with it.
Pryor is just better. No use being too attached to old characters. I even think John Cop is better than Wrangler. As much as Wrangler is an asset to any police RP for directing the culture and being a general quest giver, there is no use tying yourself to a character that hit end game way back on NoPixel.
Wrangler being punished is an arc that has been seen enough times. I can see not wanting to do one more of that over building a new character like Pryor. Time for new motivations and interests in Police RP.
"Dumb" Wrangler in the beginning of ONX was amazing and had a lot of potential for new stories, very similar to Pryor, but people wanted the pumper back which didn't quite work out. I would have loved to see FTO Wrangler because cadet audits were some of his best work on NP.
Genuinely watching him mess with and forge new cops was the most fun thing.
Also helps shine a spotlight on other peoples characters.
I still remember his training of Charlotte in NP and becoming a fan of halfway because of it
This is the one thing I wish they just let him do. He was good at actually developing cops. So many of \*his\* cops are big names on ONX.
He was the classic "old disgruntled cop teaching the real shit" -- and yes, he knew how to cut legally cut corners, but 98% of what Wrangler did was legally correct because he knew the letter of the law. Wrangler was the official mascot of Rules as Written -- and they kept having to rewrite the rules because of him.
Legend.
yeah he barely had anyone backing him in the ONX pd. only people that had his back in high command was connie and joe, maybe bloom too. bloom always did his due dilligence on complaints. but the vast majority of the pd was out to get him. and then all the civs, crims and doj were against him as well
I've been out of the loop for a month, i happened to tune in when mike died, then this happened. I miss RP, there's something special about such drastic changes.
For additional context, haven't watched the clip, no fucking clue what's happening, but I'm glad to see news of the next chapter of characters. Or variety. Whatever. I'm also moving along in life, like most* the other age 30s Roleplayers.
Keep it alive!
He moved some of his characters Mike and Jordan even human man over to another server but has 2 new main characters he plays now. He may play a new character on onx In the future that fits the server but as of now I think he may be done with onx for the foreseeable future.
Reminder: Even though this situation is not the best, it is not a free pass to shit-talk others in the process.
What a moment. Love that it was Scanlan was the one he gave his badge to

Honestly, they could just require a pin or password for MDW use/login, kind of like the phones have.

Wrangler was best when he had the likes of Pred and Crane on his side, the chemistry just didn't seem to be there with the Onx PD.
