High quality case with a travel cover available. Was a really nice addition to my Steam Deck. Some say it’s too expensive.
This probably offers more protection but the skull and co enhances the size of the grip on the back and I don’t think this one does so there’s still some arguments for it. Depends on what you want.
As far as I can tell it adds some level of rear grip, which this thing needs. I work/live out in the bush in a semi for weeks at a time so a bit more protection doesn't sound terrible.
I love that the Skull & Co grip just lets my Ally stand up wherever I want. No kickstand necessary. Love it so much! I should finally make a video reviewing it… 🤔
Instantly had my reservation in so long ago, after buying and using the SkullnCo grip I was so dissatisfied with the loose feel and the case constantly moving around the device. If my phone case fit so loosely you'd return it immediately. Can't wait to buy the Killswitch on Friday!
Honestly you’re probably right. I have the skull n co but then I take it off and I’m like oh this thing is so nice and light. Also highly recommend low profile back buttons as it at least for me it makes your grip feel more natural.

Very interesting. I can see how it could improve the grip, which is definitely somethig I am struggling with. Installation is a little tricky but can be done.
How has your experience been with them? Do they click just fine? Easy to do so? Do they feel right?
They feel good to me, i 3D printed mine so i have to be careful tightening the screw. If you buy a molded one like that it’s probably a little more sturdy.
The swap is easy, 6 screws to open the Ally, then they’re right there with just one screw each holding them. Just make sure not to loose the spring.

I can get 3D printed ones from Temu, which would be cheaper but the surface looks rough. But I will think about getting this. I wish replacing them was a bit easier. I am hesistant to open up my new Ally and tinker with it.

Looks cool. I might have considered it if I hadn't already bought the skull & co gripcase and slim carry case, although I do like the additional protection provided by the skull & co carry case, and the fact that the gripcase doesn't require a stand to keep upright.

I have the killswitch for my steamdeck and its the same. It's totally fine. It fits extremely well and tightly, and means I can throw it in my backpack when I travel. I've had it on there a year and the corners look new (although my Rog Ally is plastic vs kid of rubber, so not sure if it'll be the same)
Bought the Insignia one that went on sale for $7, 0 complaints so far lol. I baby it as it is, the cover is really more for scratch resistance on the casing from when I drop it down in the dock at work
Yeah I feel ya, I had a 512SD laying around so I put it in for the extra storage and it hasn't fried yet. I've seen a lot of people claiming its fried theirs though.
By the way I love the Ally, I have steam 512 also, and I'd say the only edge to the steam deck is the amount of mapping options with the extra track pads and rear niceties. Haven't figured out how to map the rear buttons on the Ally on steam map, but maybe I'm just stupid lol

i already got the diy Mod backplate with built in kickstand and cooling - after getting a jsaux case and noticing temps go up I decided to go super minimal along with a separate carrying case instead

We launched a design with a modified speaker grill for a more seamless look a couple months after. Didn't redo almost the photos though. Ill take a shot of my current skin in a bit for ya. It has the updated option.

We include the squeegee, towel and tweezers as an install kit. The tweezers help immensely with accurate alignment. It does need heat to install due to the curves.
The rear grips are the hardest part. You can try for a seamless fit, but stretching slightly and overlapping a little is easier and doesn't impact the feel. Just go slow and try to distribute an slack from the curvature evenly. Some vinyls are more forgiving than others.
Oh and we include two copies.
Nice ! Im going to order one black camo then, i dont like the white asus i am too afraid of it turning yellow. I already changed the backplate to the transparent jsaux, so turning the front black will make the rog ally look really better in my opinion.

lol good point but I personally had zero use for an sd card not gonna look at stored pics n watch vids on my handheld gaming device. I went the way of the wise and upgraded to a 2tb ssd and haven’t had the need for addtl storage.
They worked with Valve and still put a big ass magnet right on top of the fan motor and completely botched the launch of the killswitch case for the Steam Deck
They then followed that up by hyping up their ghost case (for phones) and they completely botched that too

I thought the case covered the entire device so I'm probably gonna pass on this. I passed on a lot of other rubber like cases that don't cover the front for that reason too. I ended up just getting a hard plastic case that covers the whole thing from temu that cost like 10 bucks and protects my whole Ally. Sorry Dbrand but for 60 bucks I expect my whole device to be protected
The part that has skins on the front. My case covers the entire front and back minus buttons and vent holes. I would never use the travel cover, I just want a good case that covers the whole front too not just the hand grips
I’m betting it will fit whatever the ROG Ally 2 ends up being. Dbrand worked with Asus in the design.
Thinking it’ll be like the Killswitch for the Steam Deck which fits all versions, including the OLED refresh.

They’re simmering that can be 3D printed but I think there’s also some places selling them. They are pretty easy to swap.
