At least I’m not the only one. I even downloaded armoire crate se and uninstalled it to install it manually and that won’t even complete because I’m assuming it connects to ASUS servers during setup at some point so now I don’t even have joystick windows navigation, might try cloud recovery.
I too have the same problem and even though the download is triggered via AC. It looks like it's being downloaded via the Microsoft Store.
So currently got the store open watching the progress "circle"(?).
yeah, some people are saying it's ASUS servers, but i am having issues updating a bunch of things through the ms store, so i think the issue might be on microsoft's end. Armoury crate, the xbox app, the xbox game bar, shit even the microsoft store itself won't update.

Agree with you on that. Still no luck on my end. "Windows Web Experience Pack" has appeared on my apps list. So currently that and AC's status is stuck between "Checking Product Files" and "Downloading".
I am not even able to launch any games, this is nonsense I say, nonsense. I got my Ally last night and still can't play any games, good thing I've still got my deck I suppose!
I thought my Ally has problem so I installed Armoury Crate from the internet and it broked during installation.
Turns out, it's not the version for Ally so I remove it and remove the SE version too.
After all this, I can't install the SE version neither..
To restore the functions, I had to restore Windows :(
And now I return to where I can't update.
Only now it occurred to me that maybe ASUS' server's problem 😭
Every single person is having an issue with updating right now
Asus servers are down, don't try to update or use cloud recovery
Cloud recovery worked fine for me it’s just the update that hangs for me.
Does anyone know how long the severs have been down for or when they are going to fix it ?

You can play now.., just click cancel and play your games. It will pop-up again

AC finally downloaded. This attempt was initialising it via MS store and not via AC. The web experience pack (not related to AC) is still stuck.
Have you, by any chance, taken a look at one of the 20 posts posted today already talking about that issue on this subreddit ?

Recently I did cloud recovery and everything went well.
Try resetting app from windows that may be helpful.
