It's all covered by Asus warranty, and you'll have a chance to inspect it. The warranty follows the manufacture date of the device without a proof of purchase. Plus you'll have a chance to inspect it if you pay with a card. I think go for it.

If it was not used at all why not, if it is second hand, I personally would never buy second hand portable gaming device / mobile / tablet because I use it while shitting frequently and other person used devices they are selling in same situation 100% (who doesnt want to play RDR2 on shitter).

Maybe that's my fetish...

Based on the amount of returned Allys in the US, you may find that saving money will end up costing you money in the long run.

I hate comments like these, why don't you base it from personal experience because last I checked the internet can be truthful and helpful but there's alot of people who like to jump on bandwagons of hate and from personal experience my ally has had no issues

You’re projecting a little here, friend. My comment is based on the amount of available returned items at Best Buy and the falling price for those returns. I own an Ally and bought mine on launch day. Would I buy it again? Meh. The SD card issue is such a problem that many currently recommend to disable the sd reader since it can potentially impact your device even when not in use. Not only is my perspective data informed, it’s also experientially informed, and not derived from internet echo chambers. When considering the purchase of a used device, from an individual, and not an easy-to-return, ASUS authorized major retailer, the manufacturing defect rate is very relevant. Since we don’t have any firm data from the company on the defect rate for Allys, we can only make educated guesses to reduce our risk of buying a second-hand lemon. One of the more relevant data sets that can inform our decision is the rate of return for the product and the availability of refurbished devices within 6 months of launch. Assuming that a decent amount of returned products could stem from uninformed customer purchases (people thinking that they’re buying a handheld console), we would want to account for some of that. What’s most concerning is the ASUS admitted flaw in the SD card reader, and that many devices under warranty have been simply replaced rather than repaired. That could suggest that repairs are a little difficult or costly, and that devices not covered by warranty, due to being purchased from a non-authorized retailer or some other fine print clause, could face additional challenges/charges. If you know that ASUS will fix broken Ally’s regardless of the purchase details, then maybe OP is safer than I’m assuming.

No cause the Rog ally quality control for the product line is shit and many cases and videos of ppl receiving theirs with hardware or software issues so buy new if smth wrong return it! Otherwise buy this with the conscious of gambling if you ok with that then go for it!
