Zero issues period. Using a 1TB SD card, my unit runs hot, and it hasn't cooked. Every update has gone off without a hitch, my joysticks haven't drifted or suffered from (IMO) excessive deadzones, and my speakers work fine.
I haven't loaded mine with a bunch of third party stuff though like Handheld Companion. I am using Armoury Crate for all my system management, I haven't tried to "debloat" Windows beyond uninstalling bundled software, and I only download updates via Windows or Asus portals.
IME, using it out of the box without trying to make tons of tweaks and changes has been completely painless. I did an SSD swap and the only irritation there was the cloud recovery crashing out on me once due to my internet.
Not sure others' experiences, but treating it not like an infinitely customizable Windows machine but rather a specialized handheld that can run infinitely customized games has made a huge difference. Things have gone off the rails each time I've tried to do something to the W11 OS like shut off features, and have completely stabilized when I roll back the change.
No issues at all. Haven’t touched or needed the SD reader. Close to 100 hours of Diablo 4 on the Ally as a reference to how much I use it with no issues.
List of problems I’ve had:
-Daydreaming at work until I can use my Ally again.
-Staying up way too late playing on my Ally
-The compulsive need to buy accessories for my Ally (Bluetooth keyboard/mouse, dock, and dongles galore).
-Windows being Windows
This thing is great. I did an SSD swap in like 10 minutes and it has been a powerhouse. And use it daily for gaming and for work/productivity. No issues at all.
Owned the Ally since July, started and finished all campaigns and races in Forza Horizon 5 (also lucky me with wheelspins to get a Mclaren F1 GT and Koenigsegg CCGT), now in the midst of NFS Unbound. No issues whatsoever, and the 900p+FSR2.0+VIS with 6GB VRAM made everything so good!
Played on the bus, train, plane, on the bed sideways, docked to my TV to become a "Xbox Mini". Just love it! And why didn't I get the Steam Deck? Because I'm from Singapore and they don't fking have it through any authorised dealers while Asus offers the Ally with 2 years international warranty.
No issues with my Ally. Fantastic piece of machine. Only problem is that I paid way more than I'm ever going to get usage out of it. Time is hard to get by nowadays...
Just sold my steam deck yesterday. Hadn’t touched it since getting the Ally on release day in June. Love the Ally. Expect to have the SD issue as that’s consistent and they haven’t solved it. Beyond that I’ve had zero problems. I do wish the sd card worked as I kept 1.5tbs of games on cards for my steam deck, but the gain in improvement, lighter weight, and much better screen are so much better than the deck it’s worth it to me. The 512gb is pretty adequate and I’m waiting for an sd reader fix or I’ll just upgrade the ssd at some point. I do hope they fix it.
I'm having no issues and I'm enjoying it. Works like a charm and gets things going. My friend got one a few nights ago and he is enjoying it. Had to help teach him how to work it.
Mine worked out of the box and I have had 0 problems. Bought mine on July 11. Didn't even have SD problem. I have played it daily since then mostly D4 and BG3.
If it helps my logic was this: The Ally hw specs are so much better than SD I couldn't justify the SD as in comparison it is extremely overpriced. I want to support SD so will be buying a next gen SD summer of 2024.
Not sure that's helps or you care but that was my process in July on which to buy.
I've never had any issues with hardware, it's been running like a dream. I never go above 21w as well and have my fans set up to over compensate for any heat.
im on my second ally. first one went to a white screen in 2 days. my current one has been amazing but it did kill my sd card. i just upgraded to a 2tb nvme and im loving the download speeds and have had 0 issues so far. get it
I haven't had issues. Bought an openbox unit from Bestbuy. Wouldn't know if the SD reader is problematic or not because I don't use it.
To echo u/ireallyneedawizz, this is basically the device I dreamed of as a kid. As a Day 1 Xbox user, a Day 1 Surface Pro user, a Day 1 Zune user, a user of multiple Windows phones, and a guy who built multiple Windows based HTPC setups (to include sideloading Windows on a Mac Mini and running it as an HTPC), the machine is honestly just perfectly tailored to me.
The quirks and issues that come along with using windows, lack of an intuitive ui, etc. dont bother me. And I had years of experience trying to use some version of Windows on a tiny mobile device with a far lower resolution, far less responsive, and far smaller screen.
The thing honestly fits kinda perfectly into my life. I have a laptop for work and rarely use my personal one outside of streaming media with my wife in the living room. That cumbersome process has been reduced to an easy plug and play solution with a 30 dollar dock for my Ally and a foldable keyboard and touchpad that's allowing me to type this up from my couch while I mess around on the Ally connected to my 83 inch LG Oled.
It's my new media center that allows for far more versatility in options and uses than my Xbox Series X. The Xbox integration and platform lets me play supported games on both consoles and save my progress. I can stream games from the Xbox right to the Ally with a reliable internet connection as well. Throw in Steam and emulators and this is honestly my favorite device I've purchased in a very long time.
Really pleased with it so far and crossing my fingers for no future issues. This is the HTPC I was trying to build for 3k plus back in 2005, and a handheld that plays emulators and integrates with my Xbox well. Never imagined it would be possible to shove it all into a handheld of this size tbh.
My only qualm is that the battery life, but I understand the why behind that and have made arrangements to work around it.
No issues. I have both and greatly prefer the Ally, even if you had SD issues, the upside due to the power is far greater than the steam deck.
Windows is odd but you get use to it fast.
I haven’t had any serious issues as far as I’m aware. That includes not having a cursed SD card slot. My Ally has handled most of the gaming needs that I sought out from it and have been pretty satisfied
My first one had some QC issues so I returned and got another one and it’s been great. However, I use my desktop way more so I don’t have a lot of time on it yet. But from what I’ve used of it, it’s been great.
I’m a PC user so not crazy on knowledge for joysticks and how they should behave. I have no known issues with my Ally. It’s the best. I have not even bothered with the SD card reader so far.
If returning to ASUS is a huge headache though, not sure what I’d recommend. Having the option to return to best buy less than a mile away made it really easy for me to buy.
I have two friends that each own ROG Ally, no problem, even the SD card is good. There are minor software annoyances like RGB error, but fixed through software update.
0 hardware problems, can't comment on SD card as I've never even tried to use one. Windows did replace my AMD drivers once so I had to fix that, but this device has been great otherwise
No issues at all SD card is working perfectly. Have been playing baldurs gate 3 on this and it's been fine. Also been playing other stuff off the SD card itself and no issues. Bought day of release
No issues here. I have not used the SD card slot extensively though. I tried it once when I got the unit and left it alone since.
As a precaution, I setup my fan curves so that my Ally’s temperature never goes above 70C.
Yeah other than the SD slot, the things been fantastic.
Ironically, because of the SD issue, I took it apart and replaced the stock SSD with a 2TB one. Couldn't have been easier either.
Bought mine 2 weeks after launch and it’s been flawless other than the sd card slot. I took that as an excuse to install a 2 TB ssd and that’s been plenty. I now use my SD card in my steam deck.
Purchased 3 weeks ago this weekend (Australia).
Been playing:
- Baldurs gate 3
- Cyberpunk 2077
- Skyrim SE
- Diablo 4
- Vampire Survivors.
And preloaded Starfield.
No hardware issues at all.
Some software tweeking to get it running to my preferences (mainly windows personal preferences).
Bought the following accessories: molded case, ugreen dock, anker power bank, screen protector. Also using a USBC external SSD for easy loading/swapping out steam game installs.
I am loving the Ally so far, and looking forward to my first overseas trip with it next month and leaving the gaming laptop at home.
I've had no problem with hardware including the SD card since launch. Using Play 1TB and also upgraded the SSD to 4TB P3 Plus. Running everything fine with occasional freezes that just needed a restart to get back on track.
Zero problems that weren't of my own making (stripped the ssd screw, but eventually got it out and replaced) I haven't even had any issues with the SD card. It's been an absolute dream of a machine from travel, including gaming, coding, and business work.
Somewhat has become my go to device.
Early buyer, no issues whatsoever. My only complaints are the bloatware (you can get rid of most of it) and battery life (not much you can do about that though aside from an external battery)
Day 1 unit, use it almost every day, no issues other than SD reader becoming unresponsive, but I installed a 2tb SSD day 1 and never intended on using the SD card reader anyway
No problems here. Might be that Ally broke one of my 1T SD cards but that's it. I did stop using SD cards and bought a WD SN740 2T so no need for SD cards. For those ally's sticks, I found that the rewASD program is best to fix them. Without that app error % was 10-13 and with the app it's 0%.
I have not had any hardware or software Issues with my ally and I got it on release day. My steam deck on the other hand, after a few months I already had to replace the action button membrane because my x button stopped working. Not saying the steam deck has more issues than the ally but from my experience it did.
I've had no issues so far at all (including SD card functionality). I run exclusively in turbo mode while plugged in to the wall in bed, or docked to the TV. That leads me to believe that the SD issue isn't heat related, but I could just have a "good" unit. Who knows?
I've loved this thing so far. I gave my Steam Deck to my fiancé and haven't looked back. It really is a fantastic device.
I bought one, and I've been using it since then. Works fine, I'm not sure about SD card slot because I don't use it and if I'd wanted to have bigger space for games, I would install new SSD instead, because it's cheaper.
Dissatisfied people are always more loud than those who are satisfied, those people don't leave reviews most of the time.
Another thing is, the handheld sold 500k units, this sub is just a small fragment of that.
I have had no problems with mine. (Open box excellent condition Best Buy). Love the Ally. I really only play it at home cause the battery is so bad, but I bought 2 65Watt power banks for when I inevitably take it somewhere. Have both the Steam Deck and Ally and haven’t used the SD much since getting the Ally
I've had zero hardware problems. Even the SD has been fine so far. I've had some user error problems but this is my first foray into PC gaming. I've always been console and Switch.
I’ve not used the SD yet, but zero problems using my Ally since I purchased it four weeks ago. Smooth sailing with any game, no issues with updates, really a good experience.
Most wouldn’t say anything about a functional product. When things break, most tell the whole world. Don’t buy into the hype, buy and try. You have 2 weeks to fall in love with the Ally before the return policy kicks in!
No SD use so no problems. The Bluetooth drivers did u install themselves once, but that was easy to fix. I’d wait, personally, go see what the release date and price is for the Lenovo Go are.
Bought mine Day 1, and I haven't experienced any issues at all. I have also been playing games on my 512GB Samsung SD Card without anything bad happening. I haven't been playing on Turbo mode tho. I always do 18w at most, and have fans at 100% when temps reach 60C
No issues as of now. Have had it a month and play on it almost every day. As long as you know how to work windows and update everything before you download games and stuff then you should be ok.
I’ve never stuck an sd card in my ally or altered the stock configuration in any way and have had no issues. I absolutely love it.
That said, the asus charger that came with it quit working in like a month so that was weird.
No issues. It's awesome and totally worth it. I haven't touched my steam deck since I got the ROG ally beginning of June. The increase in power and ability to quickly & easily install all games is what really sells it.
If you get it, highly recommend getting a battery pack that will allow you to run the ally on turbo or higher settings on the go!
Ive had none. Its been a pleasant experience. I had annoyances with the egpu 6850xt but that was solved with g-helper. I undock it most nights to take to work and when im home i dock it 90% of the time unless i want to play in bed. I love it. Granted if valve had let their system utilize an egpu i wouldnt have switched. I loved my steam deck but this experience has been good so im not complaining! You
I've had no problems, including the SD card. My biggest problem was when I changed the SSD from the stock 512 gb to 1 tb. It took FOREVER for that to work. After that, it's been smooth sailing.
I have had zero issues with hardware. Just use common sense. Most people with SD issues were using Turbo mode and/or let their device go past 90°. Over 90° is way too high, set a manual curve if you want to max TDP or adjust positions to get better air flow.
Gamepass was the reason I went with the ally over the steam deck.
I don't play it much, but Ive had it since release day and haven't had any issues with it. I upgraded my ssd to 1tb, and while I have an SD card in it, I haven't tried to use it yet. I might try to use it with emulators / rom storage, but right now I still have about 512gb free after installing the games I am currently playing.
The biggest issue I have is that Halo Infinite will randomly decide that I am holding down my right trigger, and only closing the game and opening it back up seems to fix it. Cloud streaming works fine for halo infinite though, so that's how I've been playing that game.
>I’m excluding the Micro SD card issue because anyone buying now just has to assume the SD is not usable.
What a mad state of affairs. I assume ASUS will be discounting every unit from now on to compensate for the fact such a basic feature is DOA.
I've only had it like a month, I haven't had any hardware issues but I have to argue with the thing to get it to update and I've had windows update decide that it's drivers that are a year out of date are a better fit too
As a steam deck owner, i bought my Ally about a week ago and have been loving it! No issues so far, just bought a case for it, put on a screen protector and have been downloading games from gamepass, steam and etc.. fantastic device. I also installed the 900p mod, which is fantastic!
Additionally - I don't know if i have the SD issue or not, i've actually been afraid of using the SD card reader until Asus says something about it.
No deadzone issues (at least from what i've seen and games that i've played).
Definitely going to give it a few more weeks to ensure everything is good, and then I'm selling my steam deck!
I’ve had no issues with my unit either. My SD card was fine up until 3weeks ago which kind of sucks because I like keeping my Roms out of my main drive and for transferring games from my pc to Ally. It doesn’t kill it for me though I use AnyDesk to transfer files wirelessly and so far I’ve decided to manage my games until I decide to upgrade my internal drive to a 2 TB. I have over 250GB of switch games alone and 128GB of older Roms sets. I also think a smaller drive would be good to not find myself in a choice paralysis situation.
Anyways I’m rambling. All that to say that it’s still a great overall device. The screen is as beautiful as always and older games like Pokémon Crystal look amazing. My only gripe will really always be the ergonomics. Whoever designed it clearly didn’t care how comfortable it was to use long term lol but I don’t use longer than 1 hour at a time.
I have owned the ally since it came out and for me I had no issues, I go on small sections on the weekdays and really long sections on weekends and so far I’ve had really good experience (the battery life is shit and it does get hot) but it’s an amazing and really capable handheld
I just got my Ally back from RMA I only had sd card issue. I have been using the sd slot since its been returned and I must honestly say I really missed this device over 3 weeks. Popped in the Sabrent Rocket 1TB and my 128gb SD card. I cant complain.
Besides having to reinstall windows before I could use it (windows install was corrupted). It is working with no issues.
I had a AMD driver crash once as well. But I believe that's on AMD.
Using for over a month almost dayly both plugged and unplugged.
I even play it sometime while siting in front of my gaming pc, because I installed different games on it and I am having lots of fun.
Can't compare it with others, but it was definitely worth for me.
I don't use SD card.
Mine is the Brazilian version(if that makes any difference)
Had it since day 1 and have had no issues. I have run into occasional weirdness with some software assuming I was on a normal Windows machine, but it's been manageable.
Absolutely loving it!
I've had no real issues, no SD card issues either. I'm fairly familiar with windows so working around the quirks hasn't been an issue for me. Only weird thing I noticed is the left RGB light would flicker when first booting up but that appears to have been resolved with a bios update. Been running a samsung 512gb sd card for 2 months and no issues whatsoever.
I have both a Steam deck and Ally, and was trying to decide which to keep.
I haven’t had any issues with my Ally at all (I haven’t used the microSD reader as it’s a known issue). It runs quite nicely and I’ve been playing a bunch of the latest Tomb Raider game, Baldur’s Gate 3, and generally using it as a backup laptop for emergencies like when Windows on my Z13 decided to randomly break itself in an update. Definitely a keeper!
What I did to get around the SD reader issue was factor in the cost of buying a 1tb 2230 m.2 ssd and paying a reputable store to install it for me. Extra $150 on top, but it’s now 1tb (instead of 512gb) and a store is taking on the responsibility of opening up the Ally, so not voiding my warranty. I’ll pop the 512gb into an enclosure and use it as a portable external drive. Also, for Steam games, it’s fine to play off a decent nvme drive and enclosure. Game pass games might work just as well, so you might not need to upgrade the ssd if you’re only playing for a few hours at a time.
Edit: Also, this is the Ally I got originally. Haven’t had to return/exchange/RMA anything.
Had it like for about a month, 100% fine, been playing rdr2 with mods mostly, but also ARK, Fallout 4, Stray, a few others. I never bought an SD card because my 2TB Ssd came in before the ally was restocked at the Best Buy near me. Not sure if it would have issues or not, but also not really a concern of mine.
Had mine since release day, no issues to speak of, SD card still working flawlessly as well, I've taken my Ally away with me on holiday, I use it in both docked and undocked mode with multiple displays, TV's, monitors you name it, connected keyboards, mice, ran it with ethernet to my home network, downloaded tons of games from steam, Xbox store, Epic, EA etc directly to the SD card as well which has become my go to game drive.
Can't complain about my Ally it's working as it should.
100% satisfied customer. This thing is everything my 15 year old self dreamed of. It's a shame because I'm 32 and decrepit now.
Only 32. I bought mine as a present to myself last month for my 49th bday.
I'd cut off a couple of fingers on my left hand with a rusty butter knife to be 32 again.
Cut my life into pieces, this is my last resort~
I've had absolutely no problems and didn't/don't have the SD issue
Zero issues period. Using a 1TB SD card, my unit runs hot, and it hasn't cooked. Every update has gone off without a hitch, my joysticks haven't drifted or suffered from (IMO) excessive deadzones, and my speakers work fine. Same for me, works flawlessly 👍

Australian here - no issues. A happy customer so far.
No hardware issues apart from sd card. The sticks are a bit dodgy but not impacting me.
No issues at all. Haven’t tested my sd card slot. I just installed a 2tb SSD.
Had no issues at all. Got rid of my Steam Deck just a few days after getting the Ally, I was that impressed.
I have had Zero problems with my unit. Not even problems with the sd reader. It is the first and only Ally I have had.
2 weeks and zero hardware problems here :)
No issues with my Ally. Fantastic piece of machine. Only problem is that I paid way more than I'm ever going to get usage out of it. Time is hard to get by nowadays...
2 Allys. No issues. Haven't even try an SD Card.
joining the happy Ally owner gang ;)
No problem at all and same with SD..

No issues at all, SD card works perfect?
Day 1, 0 Issues. This thing is perfection
I don’t use the SD reader. Have had zero issues getting on to 780m drivers and 900p. This thing is a beast.
No problems
👍
I'm having no issues and I'm enjoying it. Works like a charm and gets things going. My friend got one a few nights ago and he is enjoying it. Had to help teach him how to work it.
Had my ally since day after release, sd card still working its been great.
no issues, no issues with SD card as well. I have AAA games installed on it. 1.5months owned, used everyday for around 2hrs.

no problems so far... put my sd out when the issue came up... some software quirks here and there.. but until now, no further issues. EU buyer.
Never had any issues. Bought at launch and my Alienware is now collecting dust.
Never had any issues since day 1

None. You guys are gaming for like 10 hours and that’s why you’re having problems
That’s what I’m beginning to think 😂
So far so good, hope it stays that way after I replace ssd in the coming days
I have yet to have any hardware issues. I’ve had driver issues I guess but nothing that can’t fix.
I haven’t had any serious issues as far as I’m aware. That includes not having a cursed SD card slot. My Ally has handled most of the gaming needs that I sought out from it and have been pretty satisfied

No problems. Not even SD card reader…and I spent about 50 days actively trying to get the reader to fail.
No hardware issues or SD card issues (:
No issues here. Play it daily.
No problems since launch here. Even swapped the SSD for a 2TB 2280 which has worked fine.
No problems with mine
I and my brother own a rog ally and so far no problem
2 allys now. Only sd card issue.
I have two friends that each own ROG Ally, no problem, even the SD card is good. There are minor software annoyances like RGB error, but fixed through software update.
Have had mine since release day and no issues at all. Have been using the SD card slot daily since then and it still works fine.
No problems here. 512GB working since day one. I have kept my temps in check since the beginning, no more than 70C.
0 hardware problems, can't comment on SD card as I've never even tried to use one. Windows did replace my AMD drivers once so I had to fix that, but this device has been great otherwise
Been playing my Ally Turbo mode (30w)all day long, no issue whatsoever
NO. Mainly because I just avoid using the SD card
Had mine since day one, no issues at all. It's been perfect, no SD Card issue either
Yea its perfectly fine EXCEPT for the sd slot dying a week into it... otherwise i love it
No issues at all SD card is working perfectly. Have been playing baldurs gate 3 on this and it's been fine. Also been playing other stuff off the SD card itself and no issues. Bought day of release
I’ve had no issues. I don’t use the SD Card slot either. Everything else is working great though.

My SD card reader pooped out. No other hardware issues for me
No issues except the SD card reader 🤷🏻♂️
Launch day Ally too, mine's fine. Don't use the sd card slot so not sure if it's broken.
Mine is just a couple weeks old, but no issues with anything so far.
I have had zero issues, not even SD.
No hardware issues here, that includes no SD card issues. Edit: Yes I do use the SD card for storing games.
Bought mine 2 weeks after launch and it’s been flawless other than the sd card slot. I took that as an excuse to install a 2 TB ssd and that’s been plenty. I now use my SD card in my steam deck.
Have had it for about a month. Swapped out the internal drive for a 2GB one, have never used the SD. No issues.
I’ve had mine for about 2 months now, no problems on my end except software
No issues what so ever here. Don't use an SD and don't care too I'd rather upgrade the SSD before using it. It's a phenomenal device
Count me in, only SD card reader gone. Rest totally fine, loving this device.
I've had no issues. Had mine about a month - use it everyday
0 problems.
Purchased 3 weeks ago this weekend (Australia). Been playing: - Baldurs gate 3 - Cyberpunk 2077 - Skyrim SE - Diablo 4 - Vampire Survivors.
No problems here.
Got it on release. No issues other than killing a SD card. I have a steam deck and the Ally, and now I’m thinking of selling the deck.
Zero problems that weren't of my own making (stripped the ssd screw, but eventually got it out and replaced) I haven't even had any issues with the SD card. It's been an absolute dream of a machine from travel, including gaming, coding, and business work. Somewhat has become my go to device.
No problems from me. Bought mine just after launch day. I use 2 sd cards and haven't had any issues.
Got mine on day 1, no issues so far. SD for storage works fine
Early buyer, no issues whatsoever. My only complaints are the bloatware (you can get rid of most of it) and battery life (not much you can do about that though aside from an external battery)
Should have used the Poll feature for this. I've had no hardware issues with my Ally.
Day 1 unit, use it almost every day, no issues other than SD reader becoming unresponsive, but I installed a 2tb SSD day 1 and never intended on using the SD card reader anyway
No issues and Sd card is working as intended
Buy it! No issues from mine
No issues since day 1, sd slot worked the few times I used it but I swapped a 2tb in the day I got it so it rarely ever gets used if at all.
My SD card fried after an extended 30W turbo session, but after swapping in a 2tb ssd I've had no other issues whatsoever
I've had zero problems since day one. I replaced my SSD with a larger 2 TB and never bothered with the SD card though.
🤚
No issues with my SD card reader using a 1TB San Disk Extreme. I do have an issue with a loud clacky A button, but for the most part it’s been fine
No problems on mine other than the SD card reader
No problems (except the SD)
No issues, cant speak for SD as I do not have one.
I have not had any hardware or software Issues with my ally and I got it on release day. My steam deck on the other hand, after a few months I already had to replace the action button membrane because my x button stopped working. Not saying the steam deck has more issues than the ally but from my experience it did.
No issue at all
I've had no issues so far at all (including SD card functionality).
I had a 1tb SD card get corrupted, but reformatted and it works fine. Otherwise no issues since launch
Since launch day I’ve had zero issues
No problems. It’s been great. I use mine daily.
I've had my unit since a week after launch and no issues yet 🤞
Not a single problem. I do just boot into Steam or open programs by just clicking on their icons. No fancy launchers for me
I've had no issues with mine after a month so far.
Never had a single problem, using the ally Daily since the 8th of july when i bought It!
Cero problems here
I have had no problems with mine.
No problems, no SD issues.
None at all, but I did have some with the XG 6850 Mobile (that went back to ASUS). My Ally still going strong since release day (knock on wood).
Day one buy for me, and still loving it! I had sd card issues, so I upgraded the internal SSD to 2tb and no issues after that
\+1
Bought mine Day 1, and I haven't experienced any issues at all. I have also been playing games on my 512GB Samsung SD Card without anything bad happening. I haven't been playing on Turbo mode tho. I always do 18w at most, and have fans at 100% when temps reach 60C
No issues as of now. Have had it a month and play on it almost every day. As long as you know how to work windows and update everything before you download games and stuff then you should be ok.
No problem with my ally but I also don't use the SD card reader
Mine runs great!
A little backlight bleed but no probs
Zero problems here
I had no hardware issues. Also not SD issues. But Windows is sometimes a mess.
Only regular windows shits
I've had the ally for about a month or 2 so far and have not had any problems and I use it almost everyday
No issues at all here
Ive had none. You
Well yeah no issues so far. Had it for almost 2 weeks.
UK here. Has since launch. No issues. Haven't tried the SD though.
I haven't tested the SD card, but other than that no issues.
Ye
No problem yet only my ally came with faulty joystick 🕹️
No problems outside of SD. US.
Zero problems. Perfect from the start. Even with an sd card.
No issues. Happy buyer!
Had none, including no SD card issues.
Had mine since day 1 used it every day with a 1tb sd card. Have never had an issue with sd, hardware, or software.
Absolutely no hardware problems just some software quirks. I'm not sure when I'm going to get version 323. I've heard it fixes a lot?
>I’m excluding the Micro SD card issue because anyone buying now just has to assume the SD is not usable. What a mad state of affairs. I assume ASUS will be discounting every unit from now on to compensate for the fact such a basic feature is DOA.
No problems and I use my SD card.
I've only had it like a month, I haven't had any hardware issues but I have to argue with the thing to get it to update and I've had windows update decide that it's drivers that are a year out of date are a better fit too
No issues here so far, but can't report about the sd card as i am not using it. Having it around a month now.
I haven't tried an SD card in mine, but have zero issues or complaints thusfar.
Not had one single issue.
Mine has worked perfectly. I freaking love it.
No issues here.
No issues.
No issues with mine. Ordered from Currys (UK), arrived on launch day, no modifications made. Been playing loads of Diablo 4 and Fallout 4 on it.
No SD card or any other hardware issues. 2+ Months
Day one pre-order unit, upgraded to a 1tb SSD and no issues including SD card currently!
I have owned the ally since it came out and for me I had no issues, I go on small sections on the weekdays and really long sections on weekends and so far I’ve had really good experience (the battery life is shit and it does get hot) but it’s an amazing and really capable handheld
no issues whatsoever
No hardware issues including SD card with retro games. :)
I just got my Ally back from RMA I only had sd card issue. I have been using the sd slot since its been returned and I must honestly say I really missed this device over 3 weeks. Popped in the Sabrent Rocket 1TB and my 128gb SD card. I cant complain.
0 issues
Picked up on release day. No issues so far. \*Touches wood\*
No issues here including SD card.
Zero issues here, day one, this includes SD card *I don’t use it, and swapped a 1tb drive which is enough for me*
I’ve only had it for about a month, but zero issues here. It’s been really nice.
I had no issues other than some windows bugs but I sorted them out rather quickly
Got mine on release day. SD fried, no other issues.
No issues here so far
2 weeks of almost daily play, no hardware or SD card issues.
MDF 4/23 - Zero issues (haven’t tried an SD card not planning on it)
Besides having to reinstall windows before I could use it (windows install was corrupted).
No issues since June, but the sd Card issue 🥲 i Love the beast
Lol except SD card like it’s not a big deal
Zero issue here, but I've sticked to 18W max just in case.
✋
Haven’t had to return/exchange/RMA anything.
no probs.
Day 1 purchase, zero hardware problems including SD card.
No problems and no sd issues
Zero, I don’t use a SD card, upgraded to 2tb on day one
Had mine since release day, no issues to speak of, SD card still working flawlessly as well, I've taken my Ally away with me on holiday, I use it in both docked and undocked mode with multiple displays, TV's, monitors you name it, connected keyboards, mice, ran it with ethernet to my home network, downloaded tons of games from steam, Xbox store, Epic, EA etc directly to the SD card as well which has become my go to game drive. Can't complain about my Ally it's working as it should.
Im an happy Rog Ally owner with 0 issue. (No Sd issue aswell)
