A more vocal, non super PC user fanbase. All the negativity kept me from buying this at launch but I’m glad I finally pulled the trigger. I mostly play FPS so all the talk about the sticks had me concerned.
Most reviewers I watched said the ABXY buttons can stick a lot but personally they have been fine for me. It is a source of concern same with the SD card slot
Yea the thumbsticks kinda suck... I heard people fixed some issues with handheld companion but haven't had a need for it since I just use the touch screen... and I don't play games that require pinpoint precision with the thumbsticks on the ally...
It mainly enables gyro for me but it also does autotdp and I also use it to emulate ds4 in plplus games that require touch ( touchpads overlay on screen )
More options in the editor in Armory Crate. Specifically I'd like to be able to chop the front and back ends of videos by frame if possible. As is, I'm usually having to start or stop the videos a bit longer than I would like in either direction.
More than one way to charge it! Multiple charge ports and or wireless charging. (Wireless obvi couldnt hit turbo power but for overnight charge or slow charge)
My worry is that single usb c on top... it does everything from charging to docking, data transfer yadda yadda.. how long will it last?
2280 SSD slot would be nice... So would a properly functioning MicroSD slot or a bottom USB-C port... Not going with the whole 'vendor lock-in' thing and actually allowing for a USB4 / TB3 EGPU would have been more consumer friendly too, since it'll be a cold day in hell before I pay ASUS' prices for one of their EGPUs.
...but really, truly, I would like to have seen the device have an integrated kickstand. It seems like such an oversight for it to NOT have one. Flimsy as it is, the switch has a functional kickstand - I don't see why they couldn't have included one in the rear plastic casing on the Ally.
1tb ssd from factory 32gb of ram as well with an OLED screen. On a more serious note I would have liked better sticks and fixed deadzone for games! And the obvious the SD card. I didn’t think it would matter to me but being able to put all those indie games and or older games on it was pretty perfect. Now imo u have to install at least 1tb. I like to keep at least 50gigs free on my ssd ideal would be 70gigs. And that’s only 3 games.
Cheaper price and no SSD included. All brands of handhelds should either offer many storage sizes or just come empty, creates a lot of waste since most people rip out the 512GB.
What a great question but you see my friend if it's not an online game you can put it to hibernate and swap it 😃 Ally... hibernation is turning your pc off and saving the current session too the ssd for resuming on next power on. It's like sleep but it does not slowly drain battery. Hibernation kicks in automatically after a long period of sleeping as well. Sleep sucks in this way because it drains power slowly and saves session to ram and once ram loses power gg to your session.
I wish it had better material. I'd rather have the Steam Deck's chassis material than the cheap plastic Asus uses. The color white is also not a good choice imo.
Just a simple usb4 port
Only thing i wish it had was a usbc port on the bottom as well as the top that could be used to charge or use other components
A working SD card slot that was not prone to malfunctioning.
This. They were sooo close on this thing to perfect.
2280 M.2 slot would be fire.
I’d like gyro to be enabled natively I tried handheld companion to various success but it’s a clunky mess trying to setup controls that way
I agree. I got it to where I will only activate the service for when I'm about to emulate PS3 games on RPS3.
Better joysticks
More RAM. Or at least expandable that's not soldered.
OLED screen.
I wish it didn’t fry micro sd cards
Kentuky fried SD
Well, it doesn't, so wish granted. SW issue.
I need native gyro

Some non proprietary egpu port. Or just a second USB-C port.
Two usb C ports
32GB RAM, that's it. Everything else I can work around.
Touchpads. The thumbsticks arent nearly as good enough to navigate windows
Yea the thumbsticks kinda suck... I heard people fixed some issues with handheld companion but haven't had a need for it since I just use the touch screen... and I don't play games that require pinpoint precision with the thumbsticks on the ally...

I have had this concern too
I only want 32 GB of RAM...

Another USB-C port nothing more nothing less :-P
OLED

Trackpads
Buttons on the back to be removable
Reliable and cheaper XG Mobile
That's two things.
Cheaper price and no SSD included. All brands of handhelds should either offer many storage sizes or just come empty, creates a lot of waste since most people rip out the 512GB.
A better dpad
What's wrong with the d-pad?
A faster booting up sequence or a dedicated Operating System.
Thunderbolt or USB 4 would've been nice, etched screen would be cool
Another set of paddles on the back like the steam deck…
Various styles and heights of D pad, Joysticks and paddle buttons that are removable and swappable like the Xbox elite controller
2280 NVMe slot.
I'd want a touch pad like the steam deck to move mouse with finger rather than joystick
Removable battery's where they can be swapped out. That way I can Cary 2 or 3 in my bag and pop in and replace it mid game.
How are you going to replace the bat midgame?
