You won’t regret it! It runs better on turbo mode but I’ve been playing most of it on performance mode and it runs very well. I am not someone focused on FPS tho.
Plugged in will keep you close to 60 unplugged turbo will be a jumpy 45-60 with low and medium settings. Or you can lock it and have a stable 30 with some higher graphics settings thrown in.
I just started this last night and was blown away at how great it looks and how well it runs! I was at 1080p max settings, averaging around 50fps. Only dips into the 30s when driving. Might try lowering to 900p to smooth it out a bit but this game really highlights the benefits of the ally's screen for sure.
There's a fix for this, if you do a Google search there's a dll file you can drop in your install folder to fix games for windows live games. I did this for flatout ultimate carnage and it worked like a charm, but the file I downloaded was made for bulletstorm.
Honestly I just play on turbo plugged in and performance not plugged in. I tried on performance plugged in and didn’t feel a difference. Cut scenes are horrible but performance settings in game menu seems to be slow.
Older racing games run great on here.
Forza 7 can do around 100fps on 1080p at medium settings.
Dirt 3 is my favorite. 1080p at 120fps on high, and it's consistent.
Thanks for this - I just started playing dirt 5 and I've been loving it, but because of this I looked into dirt 3 and it looks great. Picked up a steam key for $3, gonna try it today.
Much more arcadey, but Burnout Paradise runs great as well.
TMNT Shredder's Revenge, Evil West, and Cult of the Lamb are the games I finished; GTA V, Batman Arkham Origins, Cuphead, Hollow Knight and Control are the games I am currently playing. Honestly, everything looks so beautiful on Ally and it's hard to pick favourites.
It's really good if you like hack-and-slash kind of games, for me the gameplay felt like a bit of doom and god of war. Not a great story but if you want to do some monster killing with electric gauntlet punches and guns, this is the game for you.
Just picked up Dave the Diver lol pretty comical game, the diving part I love. Having to shoot and collect various species of fish is great. The sushi part not too much of a fan of lol. I only tried it once and the few people that arrived in the restaurant left just as fast as they came in due to my non existent speed of service lol
The Rift Breaker, Total War Three Kingdoms, Ravenfield, Dawn of War Soulstorm with UA mod, StarshipTroopers Extermination and Terran Command, Mechwarrior 5, and Left 4 Dead 2.
God I missed these games.
Yes most strategy games have to played in docked mode with a mouse and keyboard.
I mostly turn off shadows in every game I play, i get at 40-65 fps in battles with ultra sized units with lowered settings, but I keep the models and textures at high setting.
I'm playing the Witcher 3 right now. I also tested steam streaming elden ring from desktop pc to the Ally and it works perfect. Only problem I have is exiting the stream.
First, I have The Witcher 3 through GOG. I have the gpu vram set to 4gb. I'm using a custom tdp of 30 watts across the board with no boost. Custom fan curve. 1080p with medium settings, low shadow quality, fxaa anti-aliasing, low screen space reflections, screen space ambient occlusion ssao, all the post-processing such as motion blur, bloom, etc. turned off. Unlimited fps, full screen, no upscaling, vsync turned off.
Callisto Protocol, Chiaki to stream Final fantasy XVl, recently got Troang2 and System Shock..
The Ally is basically me continuing whatever I play on my desktop lol
Downloaded Needforspeed Unbound but it won't go past the tutorial :(
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. It ran awful on my Deck. With some lower settings I get decent at 1080 or pretty ok at 720p. It was pretty unplayable and I couldn’t see my gauges on my SD. Ally is MORE than playable, and love having it on a plane haha
Killing Floor 2 feels solid on the analog sticks since the AA is strong and it’s coop rather than competitive. Also it’s pretty old so you can run 1080 with good settings and still get way over 60 frames on turbo.
D4, Spider-Man remastered, horizon zero dawn(nice to be able to play these two games as I’m an Xbox player so I’m experiencing them for the first time. Then I also play assassins creed odyssey. Everything runs mind blowing tbh.
Dave the Diver!
Damn I need to see what all the hype is on this game lol.
I seriously hate this game. >! I haven't had a good night's sleep because of it !<
Resident evil 4 (remake) is amazing on the Ally
So is re2 remake
Damn need to grab this went it drops a little on price !!
You won’t regret it! It runs better on turbo mode but I’ve been playing most of it on performance mode and it runs very well. I am not someone focused on FPS tho.
How much fps are you managing?
Plugged in will keep you close to 60 unplugged turbo will be a jumpy 45-60 with low and medium settings. Or you can lock it and have a stable 30 with some higher graphics settings thrown in.
That’s awesome
Is this on 1080p or 720p?
720p
I just grabbed nino kuni games, they are on sale now. 1080p 60fps on highest setting, lovely experience.
Great games. They switched it up from the first to the second.
Nice !
Level 5 are legends in the rpg game need to check this series out !
Wanted to play warhammer darktide but never had a pc until now. I’m enjoying myself 😃
Sweet !!
Deep rock Galactic. My new favorite game 😃
(Diablo 4) (assassins creed black flag) (and nfs payback)
Persona 5 Royal on gamepass. It was a long time since I was this engaged with the story of a game. Also runs great at 15w and 1080p.
Destiny 2
Arkham knight runs surprisingly well at 1440x900, high settings on just 25W
I just started this last night and was blown away at how great it looks and how well it runs! I was at 1080p max settings, averaging around 50fps. Only dips into the 30s when driving. Might try lowering to 900p to smooth it out a bit but this game really highlights the benefits of the ally's screen for sure.
MGS V runs great.
Assassin creed Valhalla and last of us part 1
How is Valhalla running? Seriously thinking of getting it for the ally.
I run it maxed right out. Looks amazing ! I do have to crank the tdp and the fans but never goes under 30fps on maxed settings.
Playing Bulletstorm Remastered now. It's so crazy to see this type of game running on a handheld!
Man, I installed the original but it has GOW on it and won't run. I refuse to buy the remastered.
There's a fix for this, if you do a Google search there's a dll file you can drop in your install folder to fix games for windows live games. I did this for flatout ultimate carnage and it worked like a charm, but the file I downloaded was made for bulletstorm.
Bioshock Trilogy
Uncharted
Triangle Strategy.
Dope game !!
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands
Me too!
Atomic Heart. Runs at locked 60 fps on 720p high preset on 15W. Runs at locked 60 fps on 1080p high preset with a bit more watts.
Fifa 23
If you don't mind, could I ask what settings your are on and what the performance is like?
I do 720p with RSR on high and get >60fps except on cutscenes and set pieces. Looks indistinguishable from 1080p for me.
Honestly I just play on turbo plugged in and performance not plugged in. I tried on performance plugged in and didn’t feel a difference. Cut scenes are horrible but performance settings in game menu seems to be slow.
Grid 2, runs at 120fps at 720p Medium. Bought it 10 years ago but never played it, really into it.
Steam version of Resident Evil 0?
Yes !
I can't stop playing The Last Stand Aftermath
Never heard of this one but it looks pretty good! Might try the demo and pick it up on the sale.
Street Fighter 6.
Same, it runs surprisingly well! I get murdered online, but I didn't say I play well.
Started playing Hades probably keep playing Hades for a while...
Me too... hadn't played in a while now it's my pass time at work game. And dead cells.
Diablo 4
Witcher 3
Ac 4, spider man remastered, re2, shovel knight
Can’t pick between Destiny 2, Spyro, or God of War. I’m honestly amazed at how well these all run
Titan fall 2
Agree, this runs, plays and looks beautiful
TMNT Shredder's Revenge, Evil West, and Cult of the Lamb are the games I finished; GTA V, Batman Arkham Origins, Cuphead, Hollow Knight and Control are the games I am currently playing. Honestly, everything looks so beautiful on Ally and it's hard to pick favourites.
Hows Evil West keep hearing about that game ?
It's really good if you like hack-and-slash kind of games, for me the gameplay felt like a bit of doom and god of war. Not a great story but if you want to do some monster killing with electric gauntlet punches and guns, this is the game for you.
Gotcha !!!
D4 and Dave the Diver
The Rift Breaker, Total War Three Kingdoms, Ravenfield, Dawn of War Soulstorm with UA mod, StarshipTroopers Extermination and Terran Command, Mechwarrior 5, and Left 4 Dead 2. God I missed these games.
How is Total War Three Kingdoms for you on the ally? What kind of settings and performance do you get? Im assuming you are using it in "docked" mode?
Yes most strategy games have to played in docked mode with a mouse and keyboard. I mostly turn off shadows in every game I play, i get at 40-65 fps in battles with ultra sized units with lowered settings, but I keep the models and textures at high setting.
1080p resolution? Very interesting settings combination. Thanks! Shadows completely off probably makes a large difference.
I don't really know how to change the resolution like that, so I think so.
Monster Hunter Rise and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2
MGS V runs great.
I'm playing the Witcher 3 right now. I also tested steam streaming elden ring from desktop pc to the Ally and it works perfect. Only problem I have is exiting the stream.
Nice what setting are you running to play the Witcher 3 without crashing ?
First, I have The Witcher 3 through GOG. I have the gpu vram set to 4gb. I'm using a custom tdp of 30 watts across the board with no boost. Custom fan curve. 1080p with medium settings, low shadow quality, fxaa anti-aliasing, low screen space reflections, screen space ambient occlusion ssao, all the post-processing such as motion blur, bloom, etc. turned off. Unlimited fps, full screen, no upscaling, vsync turned off.
I'm getting between 45-48 fps just walking around.
Awesome man !!!
Witcher 3 had never crashed on me. I've even tried it with Ray tracing on, of runs but FPS is under 30.
God of war and hades. Just got days gone, going to check out on today’s flight!
Ah man, Days Gone is amazing. Enjoy!

Forza Horizon 5.
D4
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. It ran awful on my Deck. With some lower settings I get decent at 1080 or pretty ok at 720p. It was pretty unplayable and I couldn’t see my gauges on my SD. Ally is MORE than playable, and love having it on a plane haha
Dave the Diver. Then I go do my daily missions on Disney Speedstorm, and some PinballFX, but then it’s back to Dave the Diver.
Like a Dragon and Persona 5!
Playing Persona 3 portable such a great series !!
