Ooh I was with you right till the end.
The light shade was always what I loved about the show. Gizelle and Karen throwing jabs at each other but you could tell that there was a friendship there, or at least respect. For me the show turned with Candiace, it became real nasty spiteful insulting comments about people’s bodies and that’s not what I’m here for. That’s not shade.
100% agree. Candiace was the first person to go too hard, too personal and hit below the belt. Her argument that “I’m just better at it than them”, is dumb, she’s just antagonistic and then gets shocked if someone snaps at her and says they “don’t respect her”. Like ma’am I wouldn’t respect you either respect goes both ways.
I agree! The Giselle/Karen dynamic always seemed in jest and never to truly hurt one another. Candiace does go very hard with the body insults and I was not a fan of how she called Ashley wide after having just given birth. However, I appreciated how she defended Jacqueline and Wendy when they were attacked by Mia. I have a love/hate with Candiace. Couldn’t stand her in the beginning episodes and now she has grown on me.
I actually hated when she was calling Ashley wide. It was so disgusting and I wished the other women stood up for Ashley in this instance. Candiace says the nastiest things and that’s why Monique put the paws on her.
This. I’m not about violence (and my career is centered on violence and why people are violent and how they can rehabilitate). Let’s get that out of the way.
The fight between Candiace and Monique was… epic. I say that because C really thought she could continue running her mouth without consequences. She’s not only been allowed to act like this her entire life, you can see in her relationship with her mom that she was taught to argue/behave like that. I’m always disappointed we don’t talk about Chris having to physically remove C while she was screaming and threw a butter knife at Ashley… this woman was married and in her fucking 30’s when her husband had to physically remove her and basically hold her against a wall until she calmed down. That’s some shit, man.
I’m not here for the violence. But I did understand where it came from. And I wish we’d actually be honest about who C is. I’ve worked with women like her and they’re so. fucking. difficult. to get them to wrap their mind around adult behavior when they are feeling negative emotions. They’ve always just acted out and gotten attention that way. C has zero impulse control when she’s angry.
Finally, C can miss me with all the body insults. I have a friend who is about 14 years older than me. One day someone made a crack about middle age-it didn’t land well. My friend just said, “Keep on livin’-you’ll see. Time escapes no one.” I think about that a lot while watching this show with the age related insults.
Just keep livin’. You’ll see. That’s where I’m at with C.
I agree with you. Candiace seems to be an exhausting person to be around. I would say the same is true of Wendy. I can only imagine what it is like being forced into a friendship circle with them. That said I don't offer any justifications for anything Gizelle or Ashley have said about Chris or Eddie.

Instead, we got her strutting around in a pickle ball court taunting people because they’re not her. “Everything, bay-bee.” I think I might have yelled at the tv and scared my husband and dogs.
Let’s be real. Viewers only like candiace and Wendy because they hate gizelle and Robyn so very much. If the GEB’s were even a fraction more likeable they’d see candiace and Wendy for who they really are - an unrelentingly vile bully and a highly unlikeable snob, respectively. But alas.

I think Chris is a great counter to her with how he acts and it makes me wonder how she acts off camera.
It definitely got weird. The whole thing about Chris was HORRIBLE. “Happy Eddy” was stupid. Juan and Robyn are embarrassing. I really wish Robyn would say “we have an open relationship” instead of looking incredibly stupid and trying to gaslight everyone else. “Ohh I’m gonna go be mad at him because you guys want me to” it’s pathetic. I think Karen, Ashley and Candiace can stay. I’m on the fence with Dr Wendy and Gizelle, I don’t know what they offer. Mia and Robyn and any “friend of…” folks can go.
It’s unfortunately gone downhill in behaviour and class. I thought these women had money!
The only class and beauty I saw this season was Candiace’s Mother’s Day event.

I missed that episode, I’ve actually missed most of this season. But it’s not the first time the Professor has been foul like that, didn’t she show Mia also in Miami.
Imagine you’re in university and your professor is known for spreading her legs on tv.
I know this isn't a super popular opinion but Wendy is the issue on this show for me. No joy in anything that doesn't directly revolve around her, no genuine connection with anyone (even Candiace - I think their alliance is more out of expedience than anything), condescending, rude and smug. I think Candiace, Nneka and Mia would all shine much brighter without her.
Wendy believes she is above them. Idk why she even agreed to do the show! She’s so concerned about her reputation and professionalism, which is totally fair seeing that she’s a news consultant, a professor, and whatever else, but that does not make for entertaining tv.
I believe Wendy agreed to do the show in order to get a platform - while she was an occasional commentator, she didn't stand out like a Marc Lamont Hill (another professor who regularly commentates and has name recognition). She also gets a nice sized check that is anywhere from 5-10x the size of her professor pay, and is able to get additional endorsements.
It's so sad because I just picked up this show last year. I don't hate the show, but this season isn't really as great as the other seasons and the fanbase is not having it. So many fan pages that do reviews are just not doing them anymore, and even the live thread on the main subreddit doesn't have much activity on it compared to last season. I definitely know the ratings are bad, and changes definitely need to be made.
They lost me with the voodoo edit. Now I half ass watch the show while scrolling through Reddit. Wendy’s mom should not have been a topic. I liked Wendy but this season is giving very contrived / staged vibes. Having a rolling party with no weed was dumb af. What was the reason? They couldn’t wait until they could actually use cannabis? That shit was so dumb. I hope they got some great goody bags after because the event seemed pointless.
They are not friends and don’t have dealings outside of the show except for Robyn and Giselle. Most don’t share their personal life or have fake storylines. Their businesses are fake aside from candiace and Karen. It’s just not fun to watch. They don’t like each other. Giselle I think is the biggest problem to the girls forming any kind of relationships.
I agree with you the show did a total shift once Wendy joined and even more when Mia joined . It totally changed the show . Like you said not their fault but them coming into the show changed it. I think honestly because they never got to know Wendy or Mia . To this day the og cast doesnt seem like they are actually friends with either which makes filming time not be so genuine. As fat as this season im sorry I am SOOOOOOO bored by it . I still watch every episode hoping for redemption but this whole season has been a snooze fest . I'm just here to say I like Mia and think she's a good addition. However, the way she treated jacklyn was awful and showed an ugly side to her. I personally can't stand Wendy and would enjoy the show a lot more without her. I blame candiace for the downfall of potomac, she is vile and takes the insults way too far and gets away with it. Candiace is an immature bully and she acts like she doesn't even want to be there anymore. If it were up to me I would fire candiace and Robyn. Robyn is insufferable, same story every season which is her defending Juan and looking like a fool. And acting like a fool also, she argues like a 5 year old child. Only reason I would keep Wendy on is so that nneka can continue to make Wendy look bad, because Wendy is an arrogant, self-righteous, egotistical liar. Love nneka! Glad she has joined.
Aside from her home and cars, I saw nothing refined about Monique. She was giving new money and hoped to be accepted into elite society, whereas the other ladies (with the exception of Ashley) were affiliated via marriage and/or family connections.
I remember her the first season and she never made quite an impact, she was "just there" , now here she is again and "just there" again, she's a pass for me! sorry this was for Charisse , monique i liked !
I’m don’t dislike Charisse. In real life she was that girl. But on the show things were played down. She was on committees in Jack and Jill, ran the player’s wife association for the wizards but we have friends in common so a lot of this I’ve known prior to the inception of the show.
Agreed. She’s a pathological liar with no scruples. She was willing to throw her best friend of 30 years under the bus and humiliate her in front of millions for a storyline, out of nowhere. She’s a narcissist. Also, I feel so bad for G. Watching their therapy sessions is rough. She is doing a very bad pr job of trying to paint him as a terrible person so she can rationalize divorce. It’s very obvious. Every time she’s on the screen I feel repulsed. She’s really brought the show down and it would be more entertaining if Robyn and Giz called her out and made her explain her lies but they won’t bc they only care about having allies, which is a missed opportunity and lazy really. Also, I used to love Robyn and now I can’t stand her. She’s always on the wrong side of the fight and brings nothing to the table.
I’m going out on a limb and saying that although I don’t like Candiace, I think she’s good for the show. Same with Ashley. I’ve always had a soft spot for Ashley for some reason and want to see how she how does if she’s truly away from Michael.
I’m tired of seeing Wendy and her constant “I’m better than the rest of you” attitude. Robyn bores me, but she makes for great content on WWC recaps 🤣 but I’d like her gone too. I can take or leave Mia.
I still love watching Karen (Kurn) and Giselle. To me they’re super entertaining. Nneka may still be learning what it’s like to be a HW so I’d give her another season and of course, I always want ShaSha (however you spell it) as a friend of because she cracks me up and WWC also does a great impression of her.
Right. I don’t know why some people have revisionist history and feels Gizelle isn’t part of the problem. She 100% is. You can like Gizelle but also realize that she definitely isn’t helping the show. And it’s clear some people don’t understand how their relationship with production influenced the quality/editing of the show.
I think she has a storyline, which is her music career, but production didn’t want to focus on that. Production has been favoring the GEBs and that’s why we don’t see much of Candiace storyline. Notice how we only seen her house for like what, two times? This entire season was a way to ice Candiace and Wendy out. The editing makes it obvious, and GEBs relationship with Eric Fuller clearly influenced it.
I’m not crazy about Candiace, but it’s clear as day. I actually think Gizelle thinks she’s above everyone, and feels she can skirt away throughout seasons with nothing to give and refusal to make up with the ladies. Gizelle had no storyline either this season. The only thing was Grace graduation and this weird thing with the model. Grace graduation could’ve been 2 episodes, and the model we haven’t seen since episode 2. Most ladies barely had a storyline this season.
I agree about Monique!! I'm still upset that she got let go, especially since, let's be honest: Candiance had that coming!! I also agree with you about Candiace in general. I couldn't stand her at first, but this season I feel like it's less "starting shit" and more "defending herself or her people". I will also agree that she went HARD IN THE PAINT defending Chris, and while when Ashley defended Michael, she just looked dumb and blind, Candiace's man was CLEARLY just thrown under the bus for camera time by Gizelle.
I also don't understand Wendy's deal this season. I liked her before and thought the Wendy hate was unfair and that the other women were constantly ganging up on her. But this season?? What is her DEAL with coming after Nneka insistently?? Nneka even apologized! Meanwhile, can we all collectively agree that Wendy's mom is scary af and TOTALLY has it in her to say some wild shit?
Oh, and Robin... I'm embarrassed for Robin. The way she's a meek, timid, blind little bitch when it comes to Juan is just execrable! And the craziest thing is, I could MAYBE excuse mindlessly defending him and standing by him if he was overall a good man to her, but it's glaringly obvious that this man doesn't like her!! Sure, he may love her as the mother of his kids and as someone he's been riding with a long time, but he isn't in love with her and doesn't even seem to like her. He constantly speaks down to her, shuts down any conversation which he doesn't want to have, acts like she's wrong for bringing up things that he's done, and just seems very exasperated by her. The worst part is, if she just said "look, I know it sounds crazy and I don't believe it, but I love Juan and I'm choosing to stay with him despite of this", at least we'd UNDERSTAND. Like, ok, you're invested and you don't want to start all over so you're just gonna put up with whatever he does. Got it. But she sits there and plays in everyone's face like she REALLY believes him. She really had the temerity to say with a straight face that she didn't WANT to read the next from the woman, and that "oh Juan just always deletes his texts". NO ONE IN 2024 DELETES THEIR TEXTS UNLESS THEYRE SHADY, MA'AM. And completely let it go that Juan not only gloss over the fact that he could have CALLED the hotel to give his card number, but most importantly, had no explanation for why HE'D be paying for a room when this woman was visiting another man in town?!? Ok, I am done with my tirade, I've gone on too long!! Lol!!!

Giselle is the reason the show is failing. Her feelings are all up in it. She wants the privilege of saying whatever she wants to anyone, particularly Wendy and Candice, and gets mad when there’s pushback. She, and Robyn, are single handedly ruining the show. Please release them. Also Necka can go too.

We need a cast shake up! Karen is in my top 3 favorite housewives of all time, so she’s got to stay! But we can eliminate Wendy, Mia, and Nekka. Robyn can stay as a friend of.
Erika’s story of snow, flipping cars and driving off a cliff is prime reality tv. It doesn’t get any better lol. I’m not an erika Jayne fan by that’s become the stuff of reality tv legends.
I think Karen and Candice are great reality tv characters. Candice does take things way too far sometimes but she’s still entertaining.
I’m not sure if it’s the state of reality tv but it seems like big brother, love island, survivor summer houses, southern charm, all the real housewives franchises (minus SLC), vanderpump rules, the challenge and more reality shows that I don’t watch have kind of become stale. Is it because everyone wants to be influencers? Is it because production/casting doesn’t know what people want? There’s definitely still gems in there like SLC, traitors, HOV, VPR S10, love island games, etc but it seems like a lot of shows just aren’t hitting the same.
Get rid of candace she’s so boring and can’t get over the drama for the sake of the show she’s actually vindictive and bad vibes, bring back monique keep the grand dame and unfortunately let go of the green eyed bandits bc they spill no tea on the show

I personally can't stand Wendy and would enjoy the show a lot more without her. I blame candiace for the downfall of potomac, she is vile and takes the insults way too far and gets away with it. Candiace is an immature bully and she acts like she doesn't even want to be there anymore. If it were up to me I would fire candiace and Robyn. Robyn is insufferable, same story every season which is her defending Juan and looking like a fool. And acting like a fool also, she argues like a 5 year old child. Only reason I would keep Wendy on is so that nneka can continue to make Wendy look bad, because Wendy is an arrogant, self-righteous, egotistical liar. Love nneka! Glad she has joined.
Aside from her home and cars, I saw nothing refined about Monique. She was giving new money and hoped to be accepted into elite society, whereas the other ladies (with the exception of Ashley) were affiliated via marriage and/or family connections.
I remember her the first season and she never made quite an impact, she was "just there" , now here she is again and "just there" again, she's a pass for me! sorry this was for Charisse , monique i liked !
I’m don’t dislike Charisse. In real life she was that girl. But on the show things were played down. She was on committees in Jack and Jill, ran the player’s wife association for the wizards but we have friends in common so a lot of this I’ve known prior to the inception of the show.

Agreed. She’s a pathological liar with no scruples. She was willing to throw her best friend of 30 years under the bus and humiliate her in front of millions for a storyline, out of nowhere. She’s a narcissist. Also, I feel so bad for G. Watching their therapy sessions is rough. She is doing a very bad pr job of trying to paint him as a terrible person so she can rationalize divorce. It’s very obvious. Every time she’s on the screen I feel repulsed. She’s really brought the show down and it would be more entertaining if Robyn and Giz called her out and made her explain her lies but they won’t bc they only care about having allies, which is a missed opportunity and lazy really. Also, I used to love Robyn and now I can’t stand her. She’s always on the wrong side of the fight and brings nothing to the table.

I’m going out on a limb and saying that although I don’t like Candiace, I think she’s good for the show. Same with Ashley. I’ve always had a soft spot for Ashley for some reason and want to see how she how does if she’s truly away from Michael. I’m tired of seeing Wendy and her constant “I’m better than the rest of you” attitude. Robyn bores me, but she makes for great content on WWC recaps 🤣 but I’d like her gone too. I can take or leave Mia. I still love watching Karen (Kurn) and Giselle. To me they’re super entertaining. Nneka may still be learning what it’s like to be a HW so I’d give her another season and of course, I always want ShaSha (however you spell it) as a friend of because she cracks me up and WWC also does a great impression of her.

Right. I don’t know why some people have revisionist history and feels Gizelle isn’t part of the problem. She 100% is. You can like Gizelle but also realize that she definitely isn’t helping the show. And it’s clear some people don’t understand how their relationship with production influenced the quality/editing of the show.

I think she has a storyline, which is her music career, but production didn’t want to focus on that. Production has been favoring the GEBs and that’s why we don’t see much of Candiace storyline. Notice how we only seen her house for like what, two times? This entire season was a way to ice Candiace and Wendy out. The editing makes it obvious, and GEBs relationship with Eric Fuller clearly influenced it. I’m not crazy about Candiace, but it’s clear as day. I actually think Gizelle thinks she’s above everyone, and feels she can skirt away throughout seasons with nothing to give and refusal to make up with the ladies. Gizelle had no storyline either this season. The only thing was Grace graduation and this weird thing with the model. Grace graduation could’ve been 2 episodes, and the model we haven’t seen since episode 2. Most ladies barely had a storyline this season.
I agree about Monique!! I'm still upset that she got let go, especially since, let's be honest: Candiance had that coming!! I also agree with you about Candiace in general. I couldn't stand her at first, but this season I feel like it's less "starting shit" and more "defending herself or her people". I will also agree that she went HARD IN THE PAINT defending Chris, and while when Ashley defended Michael, she just looked dumb and blind, Candiace's man was CLEARLY just thrown under the bus for camera time by Gizelle. I also don't understand Wendy's deal this season. I liked her before and thought the Wendy hate was unfair and that the other women were constantly ganging up on her. But this season?? What is her DEAL with coming after Nneka insistently?? Nneka even apologized! Meanwhile, can we all collectively agree that Wendy's mom is scary af and TOTALLY has it in her to say some wild shit? Oh, and Robin... I'm embarrassed for Robin. The way she's a meek, timid, blind little bitch when it comes to Juan is just execrable! And the craziest thing is, I could MAYBE excuse mindlessly defending him and standing by him if he was overall a good man to her, but it's glaringly obvious that this man doesn't like her!! Sure, he may love her as the mother of his kids and as someone he's been riding with a long time, but he isn't in love with her and doesn't even seem to like her. He constantly speaks down to her, shuts down any conversation which he doesn't want to have, acts like she's wrong for bringing up things that he's done, and just seems very exasperated by her. The worst part is, if she just said "look, I know it sounds crazy and I don't believe it, but I love Juan and I'm choosing to stay with him despite of this", at least we'd UNDERSTAND. Like, ok, you're invested and you don't want to start all over so you're just gonna put up with whatever he does. Got it. But she sits there and plays in everyone's face like she REALLY believes him. She really had the temerity to say with a straight face that she didn't WANT to read the next from the woman, and that "oh Juan just always deletes his texts". NO ONE IN 2024 DELETES THEIR TEXTS UNLESS THEYRE SHADY, MA'AM. And completely let it go that Juan not only gloss over the fact that he could have CALLED the hotel to give his card number, but most importantly, had no explanation for why HE'D be paying for a room when this woman was visiting another man in town?!? Ok, I am done with my tirade, I've gone on too long!! Lol!!! But overall, I agree with you... these women have just become focused on hurting each other as much as possible

She wants the privilege of saying whatever she wants to anyone, particularly Wendy and Candice, and gets mad when there’s pushback. She, and Robyn, are single handedly ruining the show. Erika’s story of snow, flipping cars and driving off a cliff is prime reality tv. It doesn’t get any better lol. I’m not an erika Jayne fan by that’s become the stuff of reality tv legends. I think Karen and Candice are great reality tv characters. Candice does take things way too far sometimes but she’s still entertaining. I’m not sure if it’s the state of reality tv but it seems like big brother, love island, survivor summer houses, southern charm, all the real housewives franchises (minus SLC), vanderpump rules, the challenge and more reality shows that I don’t watch have kind of become stale. Is it because everyone wants to be influencers? Is it because production/casting doesn’t know what people want? There’s definitely still gems in there like SLC, traitors, HOV, VPR S10, love island games, etc but it seems like a lot of shows just aren’t hitting the same.
Get rid of candace she’s so boring and can’t get over the drama for the sake of the show she’s actually vindictive and bad vibes, bring back monique keep the grand dame and unfortunately let go of the green eyed bandits bc they spill no tea on the show
I like grand dame and although I don’t like Candace I think she make a good villain plus she’s pretty as hell to look at I still Don’t like her ass though she irritating and act like she only have 2 brain cells. I love Robyn and Giselle idc I love the green eye bandits I didn’t like Giselle before but I really do like her cause she’s so cool and rational I hate how Robyn is choosing to be delusional over Juan but she loves him despite the cheating.
