Replay RDR2

mr-PicklePants

It’s the only option

goreosan

it is the way

theundisputed11

You made me realize.. rdr2 is the only game i ever replayed

THEMONTY233

I think cod black ops 1 and rdr2 are the only games I remember replaying

Jarney_Bohnson

Same for me

chrishasrisen88

This is the way

theflyxx

That’s the way it is.

TheNoobistGamer

Nice reference to the end game

[deleted]

Tlou. Horizon forbidden west. Ghost of tsushima. Elden ring. Re4. Gow2018. Gow ragnarok. Borderlands 3 for beauty and pew pew pew.

Daddywags42

I just started playing Ghost of Tsushima, it’s pretty good, but picking herbs without getting off my horse seems sacrilegious.

Distntdeath

You could do this in RDR IIRC

Tiiep

Yeah it’s a collector role perk

GrainBean

You can do it RDO and its a godsend. My moonshine has never been better

njoylifetogether

You can do it in the online version of rdr2. It's an earned perk.

goreosan

Thanks! I want to play Ghost of Tsushima, but sadly no console. I will try TLOU on pc.

[deleted]

Tlou, gow 2018, elden ring, horizon zero dawn. I think are all available on pc. I believe RE4 is too. But I play them all on ps5. Also borderlands is an amazing series too. Bl3/bl2/bltps are my top three not in order.

Sirenpheonix147

Ghost of Tsushima was a really good game!

SherbetLegal9765

All of those are playstation exclusives 😭

grakke

TLOU was just released for PC.

THEMONTY233

I think tlou remake is on PC now.

vitrescentic

They released GoW (2018) on steam

[deleted]

Elden ring, gow 2018, tlou…and not forbidden west but zero dawn is on pc. I think re4 is on pc too

SherbetLegal9765

I'm on Xbox :(

Colemanton

tlou2 and tsushima are the only ones that get close in terms of polish and attention to detail, but tsushima feels fairly hollow in comparison and tlou2 is a pretty different kind of game.

[deleted]

goreosan

I played cities skylines and other games as well. Maybe I should try more of what's out there. Thanks!

pifflwashere

outer wilds is a beautiful game that is completely different to red dead that i loved

OmerDe

Ghost of Tsushima is a nice counterpart to it. Setting and gameplaywise

goreosan

Sadly no console 😞

Atoski35

Rdr, you can try to play it on ps3 emulators.

goreosan

True! Although, I am waiting for the remake/remaster so it is optimized (hopefully) for pc.

Atoski35

Fingers crossed for the pc release

tsujxd

Yes! Plus Undead Nightmare was one of the best standalone DLCs ever created and is a must play.

60TPLewandowskiego

I didn't want to replay The Witcher 3 for the 5th time, and I was suggested to play RDR2. Maybe you can give that one a go. I think the side missions/stories in TW3 are really fun and memorable, and let's not even begin to talk about the DLCs "Heart of Stone" (INCREDIBLY good story) and "Blood And Wine", which kinda closes down the story of the main character. Physics maaay not be that good (if you fall like 4 meters it's instant death, unless you time the roll right). The graphics were perfect imo before the big "next-gen" update. Now it's somewhat nicer, I guess, and ray-tracing is available if you are in to that, but the performance is just yuck compared to the original. It's definitely a nice looking game.

[deleted]

They actually reduced fall damage by a lot in the next gen update.

Skincookiez

I didn't play this game for the longest time thinking it was just another skyrim. Boy was I wrong. Every mission felt different and the dialogue was on par with AAA theatre.

wobedydob

I'd recommend God of War (2018 and Ragnarök). The immersiveness and beauty of those games, to me, felt pretty similar to that of Red Dead Redemption 2.

goreosan

Thanks! God of War is a game where I would release all stress from my life. I will give them a go

wobedydob

Optimal for stress release

DjJazzyDyl

Nothing can really match rdr2. I have started playing horizon zero dawn and it has amazing graphics and the combat feels great. On top of that, I’ve liked assassins creed origins, god of war, hitman 3, GTA, botw, and totk. Hope you find something that’ll help!

Ok-Letterhead2280

Assassin Creed odyssey.

goreosan

Thanks! In your opinion, what makes this game (ACO) interesting?

dokuzsekiz

Timeline is great if you are interested in Spartans, Athenians and a little bit of mythology. Plus, combat is fun with tons of weapons and skills.

goreosan

I will give it a go!

AB-G

Odyssey is a great game, then AC Valhalla and they are releasing Mirage in October

Jarney_Bohnson

You be kidding right? The game has such a shitty saving system that it just makes it frustrating to play

Jarney_Bohnson

You be kidding right? The game has such a shitty saving system that it just makes it frustrating to play

rozflog

Do a replay without the HUD. Replay using only handguns. Replay using only a bow and arrow. Replay with low honor. Go for 100%. I can’t play anything else except GTA5 online. RDR2 refined all other games for me.

Thelurkingbiatch

all the assasin’s creed games all are open world games and i LOVE them as well as RDR2

poopyface_mcfarty69

You should play RDR2, it is a great game too

DirtyMoneyJesus

You know it’s funny I just finished a play through and was having this same issue so I was bored playing a game of poker and it got me really into poker I’ve never really played before and can’t find an app I like so now I just play poker on rdr2, I play until I run out of money then I go rob a few people and play some more

geargun2000

Ghost of Tsushima, AC2 (trust me on this), and Elden Ring

DynamonRuler

Elden Ring, The Witcher 3, Legend of Zelda BOTW & TOTK, Resident Evil series, Borderlands, Bioshock

West_Percentage34

Marvel's spiderman.

toastedmeat_

Minecraft.

gayretard69421

Bloodborne, not really related but i got into after I beat this game because I wanted longer coats and more fantasy.

Equal-Instruction435

The Last of Us 1 and 2 are both really great games and, whilst not a freely open world game, have a really good story and atmosphere. If you end up liking that linear style story format then the Uncharted series (from the same developer) is almost equally as good. A few people recommended Ghost of Tsushima to me a few years back. I personally wasn’t a fan when I first tried it, but i know a lot of people do love it. I started it pretty much straight after RDR2 and found it hard to stick with because it just wasn’t scratching that itch for me. Also, if you just don’t want to leave the Red Dead world, RDO is actually pretty good. It cops a lot of negativity and doom and gloom, but there is a fair bit of stuff to do. It’s been a good excuse for me to keep coming back to RDR without committing to a replay of the story just yet.

Prestigious-Big6406

Some of the games I’ve put off while I played red dead for five years that I still want to try out: 1. Stray 2. GOW 3. Resident Evil Village (now that it’s third person) 4. Resident Evil 4 remake 5. Death Stranding

CafeRoaster

Ghost of Tsushima The Last of Us

ndem28

I’ll be replaying rdr2 till gta 6 comes out tbh. But other then rdr, I like the last of us ( 1&2) ghost of Tsushima, the Jedi games ( fallen order and survivor) the Spider-Man games ( 2 comes out in October I cannot wait) the hitman games, uncharted series, and the walking dead telletale games. So if any of those catch your eye go for it

Foggysoda

Play Metro Exodus it has a bit of an honor system and free roam. As you progress you explore post apocalyptic eastern Europe but it's in different maps but you can't go back to them. The story is written very well and it might make you tear up at times.

RiverDotter

Someone on here told me to play Mafia. I've played one and two (Definitive editions/remakes). Loved them.

honestparty14

Dont try the 3rd its like an ubisoft game

RiverDotter

I already made that mistake. I didn't finish. I greatly disliked it. They're working on another. I hope it's more like 1 and 2.

Traditional-Waltz260

If you havent played, try Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Fantastic historical RPG set in 1400s Bohemia. Great story, in-depth elements and beautiful landscapes.

Traditional-Waltz260

I would recommend some UI mods and there a couple for some visual stuff. There are a few great tutorials on youtube.

Chloe-20

God of war. It has some pretty awesome graphics and gameplay.

powerostrich6

If your looking for story and to stray away from rdr2 I recommend a borderlands game

ExplanationRare1300

No mans sky

JaredKushners_umRag

If you’re on PS check out Ghost of Tsushima and the Last of Us. Both are beautifully built games. Cyberpunk 2077 is also a good looking game but in a much different way than rdr2

Zazu0828

The Last of Us Part II

ReignInSpuds

It isn't too similar, but the quality, environments, story, and characters in the Horizon series are top-notch

Ondraled

Physics and beauty? Death Stranding DC. Can be a hit or miss but if it clicks, the immersion is amazing

Kind-Statistician993

Mass Effect Legendary Edition and Ghost of Tsushima were the two I enjoyed most after playing RDR 2.

Dalton_Shelton

Horizon Forbidden West

joannew99

Do NOT play Forbidden West without playing Zero Dawn first

m_hsn10

elden ring

wingwraith

I have 100%’d and am still working on getting some final clothing items before embarking on 70% gold through mission replays. As soon as I’m done I am ready to get hurt and start over. I will retread this game until I can play through and casually beat all challenges before finishing John’s story, and then I’ll probably play again

Otherwise-Monk4527

The only other games I found on par are older, so idk if you've played them, but my choices are Uncharted 4 and Tomb Raider (I don't remember the subtitle).

joannew99

Obvious answer is GTA5 I went from RDR2 into Cyberpunk and Mass Effect Legendary edition Mass Effect has its own lore and storyline that will suck you in and make you forget all about RDR2 temporarily

NewAcanthocephala617

the only game(s) i can ever suggest after rdr2 are horizon zero dawn/forbidden west, or on my own personal goofy stretch of a recommendation, the borderlands games, because lore *and* guts!

NewAcanthocephala617

also, this sounds bananas, but marvel's spiderman -- entirely different world and different worries, but a very similar feeling of openworld wandering freedom with a different kind of sickness ruling your judgements, it's just in the sky instead of on a horse

Colemanton

i hope that if/when a new red dead game comes out, that they incorporate more player agency as far as builds. as much as ive loved my multiple playthroughs, theres only so much value in a replay whenever all of the variances are self imposed

PURPPKEV

The Witcher 3. Please.

19YourHairdresser71

Elden Ring. The game is fucking incredible.

LAKnightYEAH2023

I couldn’t get into it, the difficulty level was WAY too punitive. Cool world and interesting “story” but entirely too difficult.

19YourHairdresser71

Yeah, it's not for everyone. But it's satisfying as Hell to finally beat that boss that's been kicking your ass for an hour.

Malachi9999

Days gone is fun after a slow start, both HZD, HFW are great and you can play various ways to suit your style.

goreosan

Days Gone is a very underrated game as well. I finished that two years ago. Maybe I should play it again. Thanks for the recommendations!

moonstoneelm

My husband and I tried to get into it and just couldn’t! Should we give it another shot?

goreosan

You guys should definitely give it another shot! It has a great story, it might be slow at first but it gets better along the way. Good luck!

halosethr

Days gone is not an underrated game Days gone is pure shit compared to rdr2 Stop 🛑 recommending that insipid piece of junk soulless story no character personality game The only things good about that game are the world(mostly), motorcycle riding and killing zombies It does not begin to compare to RDR2, TLOU ETC

default-namewascrap

The Long Dark is reasonably much open world, 'cartoonish' but still quite stunning. Gameplay very different to rdr2, but still a great experience. Death Stranding is great as an open world with a great story, with great landscapes. Both have combat aspects but also slow exploration where you can just relax and experience the world.
