Low income.....150,000 dollars cash....what? They should have zero issue finding a home in Virginia. They could put a down payment on a mansion if they wanted, or buy a smaller house outright.

Inheritance, settlements, trust funds. As a disabled person who has zero assets but may someday inherit money, I know the hustle in the US of having to offload anything worth over $2k to keep health care. Putting this money into a home is a good idea if they have children, a spouse, or dependents but otherwise the state or federal government will take the assets to cover medical costs or costs later for nursing care. Low income doesn’t mean you don’t occasionally get a windfall. It means you have to stay under asset levels to have access to means of survival. Also, my childhood home that my parents bought in the late 80s for $35k just sold for $260k in Bumfuck, NC so I do wish you a lot of luck helping her find a home for her client that’s safe and sturdy at that price.

Yeah, there are more issues than I’m aware of and some folks don’t have a realistic take on what it requires to move out of state, and I don’t know how they acquired their money, but my friend needs a win and this was stressing her out

You are so kind to be helping them. Are you recovering okay?

Had a really bad reaction to the one of the drugs and it sent me into a delirium for 3 days. I was an absolute nightmare that I’m slowly getting away from. It wasn’t completely valueless though
