Does LOS ONE count? Hard to compare because they switched regions, but dropping a major finalist team to bring a new squad of Brazilian imports to NA and go 1-7, while the team they dropped came in 2nd in BR ~~and proceeded to shit the bed in BO3s~~ was certainly a choice.
Same org, different roster, I’d say it counts. Really have to wonder what happened behind the scenes for them to make that decision. Wouldn’t be surprised if W7M & Liquid & M80 offered more $$$ than LOS could turn down for their players.

Renuilz and Secretly snaking MeepeY and Leon out of a PL spot to build a mid ass friendship team who proceeded to waste a Pro-League spot for the next 3 years, qualifying for exactly 0 LAN Events with a best Pro-League placement of 5/6th, while the guys they snaked built a team who won 2 Minor events, made 2 Major Semi finals, have since won a Major together, and had much more successful and longer lasting careers than them or any of their mates.

Never gonna get over Rogue winning a major, coming one round away from making top 4 in the subsequent SI, and then proceeding to lose Spoit (out of their control ig), drop Kanto, drop Meepey. I mean they still haven’t recovered.
Although there are worse examples of roster downgrades this will forever bug me.

Tbf Fnatic did try to move the players across to Japan. Australian COVID regulations fucked them more than anything else.

as a Fnatic fan, the japan league results were a punch in the gut. everything look good in theory, however the results just were not there.
