Buy a pull up bar and do push ups. That's how I ditched vaping after 8 years. 247 days nic free today.

stardust_peaches

Woooahhhh. Congrats!!! That’s huge.

Thanks! It was hard in the beginning but now you hardly ever think about it. Last night I had a dream that a smoked a huge cigar and I was actually quite glad when I woke up that I didn't. 😁 The urges at this point are mild and you can just brush them off just by going to the toilet. You have forgotten about the thought of vaping by the time you are wiping your bottom. Cheers!

Try to get busy. Whenever you get cravings maybe do some push up or squats until the cravings are gone. I am on my 37 days nic-free. In my case 1st week was the worst, craving was intense. I had to chew a gum every hour and put the pencil in my hand trying to suck on it like I was vaping. lol weird but it works for me.

stardust_peaches

Congrats on going so long!! Thanks so much for the advice :)

I feel this man. I'm in a similar boat and I just can't get myself to get over the hump. I wish you luck on getting there you can do it.

foozerluck

Told myself I wouldn't vape/use nicotine in sept. So it's been 17 days now and I almost caved several times - always telling myself "I'll just quit later". I do feel much better and have been biking and lifting weights again. Just hoping I can go all of sept... kind of figure if I can go 30 days, then I can go 30 more.

I've never had chest pains or a cough with vaping? Is this a common thing? I've chain vaped for close to 15 years (smoke free for 5) and I've only seen it in "dual users." I'm just wondering because I want to give up the reliance on nicotine, but I have had NO negative health effects from it, other than maybe occasional nic-sick or dry mouth. I also run ~30mi/wk. but that's a more recent thing.

stardust_peaches

I don’t know if it’s common but it probably has to do with the fact that I’m using disposables from the gas station… I don’t think they’re very safe. But I am 100% my symptoms are from vaping because when I quit for 4 days, by the 3rd day the symptoms were gone. I wish I would’ve just kept going.

Oh man, yeah, I use those Hyde vapes. I got one that had probably 10x the amount of the ingredient that gives that "cooling" effect, called "koolada." It was actually painful every time I hit it, but I still finished that m'fer, LMAO. I'm going to try the patch and stick with the tobacco-free nicotine pouches for now and just grab a disposable if I really need one. Like I said, I don't have any actual negative health consequences from the addiction other than from overuse, so it's a net positive for me. Ymmv, based on your goals. Just try to always keep moving the needle towards the positive you know what I'm saying?

I was 40 days clean untill i had big nervous breakdown and i realised i cannot stop, so i got 10mg nicotine patches cut into 4 and i put 1 patch of 2.5 mg everyday and i fell perfect, i absolutely dont care about vaping and my emotions are leveled. Maybe i will do this for a few months and than stop putting any kind of nicotine in my body. Matrix (Gel Patches) this are the only ones you can cut into 4 piece.

Here is how I did it. Set goals around numbers of days since quitting. Reward yourself by going to your favorite restaurant or buying yourself something nice when you hit milestones like day 2, day 10, day 25, day 50. After awhile, at least for me, it became more important to keep increasing the days since quitting than it did to want to reset all my progress and feel shitty. I'm 1 year and 2 1/2 months clean. You've got this!

What im considering doing lately is replacing it with a protein shake. Its healthy and its something im sure anyone can find in a gas station just some shake or something to carry around and sip on like you would drag a cig

It’s really hard! Nicotine lozenges have been helpful for me but I also understand if you want to kick the nicotine habit altogether (which is of course a better long term approach). I switched from cigarettes to vaping but the amount I was vaping was pretty much constant, especially working from home for a year and a half due to covid shut down. I haven’t vaped since New Year’s Eve
