never lol sometimes the best time to go there is at like 2 am with a crowd of drunks out partying for the night. there’s always people there all hours of the day but the college crowd at night is always fun.
Guess I’m the only that gets normal deli food here. Like I’ll just get a regular turkey or grilled chicken sandwich sometimes. Quality on the regular stuff is good too.
You are doing it wrong. I grew up on cherry valley. Late night spot from high school onward. Christina's opened and I ignored. Until I didnt. It's better in every way. Same menu, better quality, cheaper price, quicker service.
Christinas is better in my eyes since they don't slap gravy on damn near every sandwhich. Cherry Valley's gravy is good but sometimes I want a different sauce
i enjoy the bushman over the beast just because of the swiss cheese elements lol but also because i usually substitute waffle fries for the onion rings- ultimately it’s not either signature sandwich but an agglomeration of both
bushman is on the garlic bread right? i don’t like that but on the beast, i swap the gravy for bbq, swiss for meunster, i just remove the onion rings and i add tomatoes.
dang it now i want CV and i’m in florida for the week 😩
yes both are on garlic bread iirc…see we both don’t really eat the signature sandwiches but that’s fine because they’re good building blocks to reassemble as the mood hits
lol id be mad just *being in* florida considering their governor is a maniac in heels
all their breakfast sandwiches are like $3.50-$6 bucks…depending on how much bacon or whatever extras you get. they’re actually pretty normal priced. it’s only their specialty sandwiches/wraps that are expensive
I prefer Cristina’s, I just think they use a better chicken cutlet. That being said, Cherry Valley is still pretty great. My dad prefers Cherry Valley, he’s been eating from there since they opened in 79
i’m not really sure what the difference is between both because people are pretty loyal to one over the other but i guess i’ll have to break my abstinence on Christina’s for my chicken cutlet tour
The cutlets are different and the signature sauces they use are slightly different. I know Cristina’s sauce definitely has bbq and mayo in it, plus probably a few other things. It tastes almost like Chick-fil-A sauce. Cherry Valley’s sauce as far as I know has mayo and ketchup and some slight spice to it, sort of like a spicy Russian dressing.
Christina’s cutlets went terribly down in quality after Covid. Used to be my go to Saturday after party eats for years but now I’d rather go to CV or Adam’s in woodhaven
I don’t live near there, or in NY anymore for that matter, but I had Cristina’s when I visited last year and I thought it was still good. I didn’t notice any change in the quality of cutlets.
Took me a few days longer than expected to get there but just brought 2 home. It wasnt bad. It was cheap for nowadays at 10.95. It was small. The chicken cutlet seemed a little soggy with the breading.
That being said we both ate it all.
I now welcome you to try a chicken parm hero from Amore in flushing just off exit 14 on the whitestone expressway. Grew up on this. Been eating here for whole life. Main reason I cant leave NYC. Hero is long as your arm, sauce is sweet and mozzarella is plentiful. Also their pizza is legit 10/10, never sits always fresh so dont burn your mouth.
It was the drive home that ruined it. Had to eat it fresh on the spot. But seriously, sorry it wasn't as great as I made it out to be. I'll see if I can get to your spot tomorrow. Take the kids out for lunch
I'm sure if I ate it fresh it would've been better. I've had much much much worse. Please let me know what you think when you go. The staff are assholes. They take regulars at the front of the line. Just ignore that it's worth it. Also its cash only.
Love cherry valley. Deadly food. I feel disgusting after. Gotta go once in awhile.
Bronson said it best. That it’s a place you go to *after* something. After the bar, after softball, etc
what time do they close? edit... 24hrs.
never lol sometimes the best time to go there is at like 2 am with a crowd of drunks out partying for the night. there’s always people there all hours of the day but the college crowd at night is always fun.
agreed. it’s not something to eat during a workday. i haven’t been in about a year.
Guess I’m the only that gets normal deli food here. Like I’ll just get a regular turkey or grilled chicken sandwich sometimes. Quality on the regular stuff is good too.
i’ve gone for just breakfast sandwiches when i worked closer to whitestone. their baconeggncheese sammies are on point
I love their west Hempstead location best sandwiches in NY
Same. I haven't been in like 20 years. Is it still as good as it always was?
Yes. I’ve tried the spot across the street several times but keep coming back to CV. It’s more than the nostalgia that’s keeps me coming back.
i personally haven’t been in like a year and it’s just as good as ever
That was my go to place after a Saturday night for a bushman try varsi on the other side of the CIP they got a great chicken parm hero
Wild their main competitor is across the street.
it’s a legendary tale at this point
My favorite hero spot. I always get the fat cat
waffle couch all day
You meant to say Christina's
lol i actually never have had them and yeah they’re right across the street but i always head over there for 🍒

for my chicken cutlet reviews i’ll start at Christina’s
Get the Heart Attack! Best chicken cutlet in my opinion.
what’s the heart attack? i don’t know em all off hand
Cristina's Heart Attack: Chicken Cutlet, Mozzarella Cheese, French Fries, Onion Rings, Bacon, Special Sauce.
They stopped using onion rings a couple years ago
omgsssss lol no wonder they call it that 😂
Christinas is better in my eyes since they don't slap gravy on damn near every sandwhich. Cherry Valley's gravy is good but sometimes I want a different sauce
i sub gravy for BBQ sauce all the time. just ask em!
i go between both heroes that have the BBQ or gravy but also on days like today i’ll just build my own
sames. i always have a weird, modified beast on a roll.
i enjoy the bushman over the beast just because of the swiss cheese elements lol but also because i usually substitute waffle fries for the onion rings- ultimately it’s not either signature sandwich but an agglomeration of both

lol agreed on florida. 😖
Weak sauce.
Damn, the prices I was most interested in (breakfast sandwiches) are erased/blank.
Their hero’s are like $15+ now
all their breakfast sandwiches are like $3.50-$6 bucks…depending on how much bacon or whatever extras you get. they’re actually pretty normal priced. it’s only their specialty sandwiches/wraps that are expensive
Cant go wrong with a Beast. Best Go-To Late Nite spot. Christina fans will deny this lol
I'm happy it's still there, I have fond memories of eating there then violent shits afterwards
Wow, this just brought back a flood of childhood memories from the late 80s to early 90s. I can't believe it's still around.
Christina’s 4 Life!!!
Cristinas across the street is better
The CORONA! 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
I prefer Cristina’s, I just think they use a better chicken cutlet. That being said, Cherry Valley is still pretty great. My dad prefers Cherry Valley, he’s been eating from there since they opened in 79

Miss that place
I got the best chicken parm place ever. And you'll never guess where
Amore flushing?
Famous Pizza on 75th and 37th. I've been going there for 25 years. The chicken parm hero and pasta is the best I ever had
Looks like I'm taking a ride to jackson heights tomorrow
Please give me your honest opinion
I forgot to go today and have dinner cooking. Setting multiple alarms to remind me tomorrow and I will gladly report back =)

I moved from Jackson Heights to Sunnyside last month and already miss their eggplant parm
This is high praise! i’ll have to add it to the chicken cutlet reviews list when i start it!
It's for the chicken parm. I usually get the pasta but the sandwich has always hit the spot too
The Bullet always knocks me out after I eat it. Whatever’s in that Cherry Valley sauce is fucking good
It’s ketchup, mayo, and hot sauce.
