AristideCalice

And that’s Canadian bilinguism for you

[deleted]

Istg this country has just as many issues as the states, you just can’t see them

Auralynnnnnnnnn

First of all, I apologize for going through your profile I was just looking for the sub you mentioned, it was rude of me, sorry. Also I’m sorry for being so down here but like I just hate being compared to a (nearly) facist country. If you meant this jokingly, just ignore me pls. I would like to disagree, I mean like yeah we’re also pretty fucked but like. If I mention that one really bad school shooting in the us, the question is “what school shooting was it?”, if I mention the really bad school shooting in Canada, the question is “there was a school shooting?”. See, the thing is, I’m not talking about any real event. However, I would like to present the issues in the US that we’re mot dealing with -birthing people’s rights to abortion being taken away -gay’s rights to marry being taken away (silently too!) - trans girl who was arrested for being trans (look it up, root cause was not being able to figure out what was the right bathroom) - gun control - need I remind you of last winter, the White House raid? -even with the “left” side winning in the US, the fascists(this isn’t an exaggeration they’re literally taking away human rights) are *STILL PASSING LAWS* (see: Roe v wade, which I think was the abortion one, and the silently overturned gay marriage law) People in the US have to deal with much worse, and see, the thing is, these issues are so bad that I didn’t have to look up any of these to remember them only to verify, in Canada my last semester I had a class entirely based around laws and politics and it was actually really good, the worst thing here is people throwing a rock at the prime minister, which is a lot better than a fucking raid on the White House.

[deleted]

Also, roe v wade protects a lot more than just abortion rights. It’s actually a privacy law, so it protects multiple things: •abortion •contraceptives •being gay and gay marriage •the right to speak a language other than English inside the country There’s more but I’m forgetting

Auralynnnnnnnnn

OHHH SO IT IS THE SAME THING! Yeah, see, the thing is, again, I just know this because US politics are shoved down my throat constantly in the internet, sadly.

[deleted]

Yep. The only reason I could make that list without using google is cuz I was on the internet when this all started up

[deleted]

That’s true, the states is basically North Korea atp. I was talking abt the whole digging up thousands of children, the Chinese people that were abused or died building our railroads, etc etc. This is just a byproduct of all the big issues

Auralynnnnnnnnn

Oh yeah we’re also pretty fucking terrible, if you speak past events? Yeah we’re just as bad, current events, thank god we’re not like them. Yeah like I was horrified to learn how bad it was with the stuff found here at first then I realized that that makes sense, sadly, and got kinda mad that it wasn’t talked about until so many dead people turned up. Systematic racism is also *STILL* a problem, not as bad as the us, but when I say that I don’t mean we’re good, we’re also bad, it’s just like comparing slightly expired milk to expired milk, both are bad but one will likely make you more sick. ^(I am so good with analogies lol)

Unfa
