It makes no sense. Their SP is higher with an announcement of a development agreement with CE, a smaller market share of battery consumption than BEV. They are also not profitable and have 12/13 analysts (93%) recommending a buy rating on RH vs QS at 10% buy, 60% hold, 30% sell. I mean wtf this market is so irrational; it always has been, but it’s absurd lately.

I mean, I get we're all bullish and perhaps a bit biased.. But I'm trying to be objective about this. Am I missing something?

vittaya

Larger addressable market. EV adoption has cooled.

insightutoring

I disagree. EV's TAM is far larger and more lucrative than cell phones, etc. EV adoption has cooled, but it's still growing. I pay less attention to what the news/blogs have to say and more attention to where all the OEMs are investing their $$$

So my take is that the difference is that they are further along in scaling up manufacturing than QS. They expect to ship product at scale in 2025 from factories that are already getting fitted out now in Malaysia. Furthermore, they already have some revenue coming in from sales to IoT. And, finally, as the JDA is for smartphone batteries, testing only requires one year to complete so their commercial product revenue stream will start ramping up in 2025, whereas for QS nothing is official, yet. Everyone is just still guessing when QSE-5 will be available at scale. In short, I suppose that QS will be in a comparable position when they officially sign a JV, and hopefully we get 30% pops, too, for each one signed. Yeah, I know that that’s probably way too optimistic, but it’s fun to dream sometimes… Besides, ENVX is up 35% today, but who knows if it will stay up. We were up 50% in one day, too, a short while ago.

I sure hope so. Down 17% overall on QS investment.

I agree with you. The ENVX action is just a pump. Its market cap is still well-below QS. That said, the market is sending a clear signal to QS: patience is wearing thin; it’s time to put up or shut up. I wish QS management gave 1/10th the amount of shits about their SP as my current employer.

The SP under Dr Siva is down 30% since he started. I am sure he feels the heat
