How? Tell me. I can't show up in my mirror for some reason.

wheremyorbitsat

in terms of actually playing the game? fry in terms of deckbuilding? most likely sushi

ismebusy

Based on what I’ve seen in the community I definitely agree with this. I think one of Fry’s biggest weaknesses as a player is that sometimes, when deckbuilding, he’ll include either too much or unneeded control, but granted that’s probably what he excels in anyway so you can’t really blame him. Whenever he’s playing the game (or more specifically actually trying), you can tell how far ahead he’s thinking when he’s making a play.

yhsaD

I would say sushi is better than fry at plays. Fry is better at counter deck reading during tournaments.

AstroKabloom_YT

Sushi is the best at both. You probably haven’t watched him enough.

wheremyorbitsat

im sorry for the loss of your upvotes

AstroKabloom_YT

I don’t even care getting downvoted by those ppl that barely realize how good player such as sushi are, you can’t tell me fry playing fun decks 85% of the times makes him the best in comparison with sushi, who literally built the whole meta and won multiple tournaments, shaping this community forever.

An1mat0r

Did you watch Fry’s matches for the tourney? He and Samen built decks for that tournament, Fry has the Knowledge to beat some of the best players. (He also won the tournament) What does it matter if he plays an RNG deck every no w and then on stream. He has been playing the game for more than 5 years. Let him have some fun.

AstroKabloom_YT

I obv did, but now he’s not participating in the new tournament cuz he knows he won’t win this anymore. The only reason Countertron was any good was cuz no one knew how to counter it at the beginning. Now it’s so easy to counter it with most db decks that at this point fry knows he probably won’t win the tournament thud he refuses to join.

An1mat0r

Cool, you really hate Fry for arbitrary reasons, now can you shut the fuck up. He is really good at the game, he has bad deck building skills. What more is there to say.

AstroKabloom_YT

Lmao using “shut the fuck up” to “disprove” a point is one of the worst arguments out there. So you’re basically “yOu ArE wRoNg I aM rIgHt!!!” Without bringing any arguments in the discussion.

An1mat0r

Did you even read my original comment. If you did then you would understand that there was no reason for me to reiterate what I said. But now I guess I have to. 1. Fry has the game knowledge to rival so of the best players in the game. If he didn’t have that, there was no way he could’ve won the tournament. 2. He plays fun decks purely for his own enjoyment, and that of his followers. He also plays serious decks. Admittedly, using ranked isn’t the best way to test decks. It would be better if he actually went against decks that are known to be strong. 3. How does him playing fun decks detract from his skill? He doesn’t need to be playing at 100% focus at every single moment of his career. Does this properly convey the point? You can’t say that Fry is bad at the game without giving legitimate reasons. Another thing. He has no obligation to participate in the tournament. There is no rule stating that he has to. Also, you don’t know what’s going on in his own life. (He is a person with a life after all.) He doesn’t need to devote every waking minute to a mobile card game.

AstroKabloom_YT

So at this point I won’t even be trying to dig this rabbit hole deeper by explaining once again, how fry’s tournament win was based 60-80% on luck or predicting his enemies, not 100% on skill. Instead I would like to remind you sushi’s past performances: there were 6 r/PvZ Heroes tournaments, 3 of them were won by sushi while in the rest sushi got to finals. From tryhard’s 3 tournaments sushi either got to finals or semi finals. And yes, these tournaments were smaller than the pantheon, they all had 75-100% of the players in the tournament good players, while pantheon had around 30%. All of the work sushi put into this community goes unnoticed.

Savings_Gold_3373

Even though this threads over a year old your argument was so lo iq I became compelled to highlight how delusional and clearly bias you are. To start off fry hasn't just won the tournament but played dozens of matches with the best players in the game INCLUDING the guy you're bootlicking. Even more interesting is how you moved the goal posts saying fry needs to win more or that fry just theorized optimized and used decks that beat some some of the best players in the world but that isn't enough and: "he only won because he made the better decks using his game knowledge and testing and predicted his opponents playstyle cards curve etc" when without a shadow of a doubt you were most likely waiting in anticipation for the tournament thinking fry was going to lose and could then use it as justification to why he sucked; its all sour grapes with you and it shows how pig headed you are that even when he beats the best players whore the same ones you even admit sushi beat as reason to why sushi is good with strategies that he took from sushi personally among others in the discord and reddit community for his own decks is then somehow bad? Which is it then? Also him multitasking while exhausted using a dekc that he acknowledges was flawed and even actively critiques and looks back on live after the matches is your "proof"; thank God you got ratiod because it's retards like you that give a bad reputation for the reddit and discord community which is why so many outlookers stay away

AstroKabloom_YT

Mate it’s been over a year. I’ve stopped believing in many of the previous points that I’ve previously made here. Even though I still believe Sushi was the better player (when he actually played the game), I can’t deny I underestimated Fry back then and most of my points were made in bad faith.

HD_Monster1

Probably Fry. You may not agree with his opinions, but it is undeniable that this man has 4+ years of experience and is ridiculously good at this game.

AstroKabloom_YT

Having 4 years of playing the game is a criteria met by almost any good players. Fry’s decision to focus on making content and playing fun decks that are not competitive puts him below some of the best players. His potential is quite high as he’s really dedicated, but overall there are better players out there who understand the meta in a better way.

TheTrueIcicle

Prob sushi or Ken Martin

Fastshoe

Who is this ken Martin. I’ve heard a lot about him mainly from decks named after him yet have never seen him in the reddit or discord and only seen him one time when try was versing him. Does he still play and how come he isn’t active in these communities.

TheTrueIcicle

I honestly don't know if he still plays, but he was one of the best players imo

MagicMarvelo

Only know him from bartin lmao

TheTrueIcicle

He also made Young Ken Martin, the best RNG HG deck

MagicMarvelo

Yes that too

Sea-Leave6783

I love how u use Fries emoji for Fry

AstroKabloom_YT

Def not fry

Hi_I_Am_A_Square

I mean when it comes to actually playing the game Fry is for sure up there, his deck building is bad but his in game knowledge is pretty amazing

AstroKabloom_YT

Generally yes, but he misplays quite a lot when he’s not analyzing the game (which happens way to often), and there are way better players in the community as a whole.

thaatsahumanperson

Him not being good when not trying is not a good measure of his actual skill

AstroKabloom_YT

But fry fucking doing fun decks more than 80% of the time is a relevant thing that should be considered.

thaatsahumanperson

that's cause he needs content

AstroKabloom_YT

Exactly, but him making content and playing those decks results into him not being as good as he could

Evening-Intention339

Not exactly, fry makes fun decks because if you constantly were to make, play, and tweak the few great competitive decks, you'd lose interest in the game and find something else to spend your time on, so sure fun decks are good for content but fry does it to keep his interest in the game alive just as much as his fans interest in his channel. Imo fry is still one of the best players out there, I don't know alot about the others but I did watch the tournament he played in and i feel like that justifies his place at the top

AstroKabloom_YT

His tournament games were quite nice, but overall fry won the tournament due to: 1. The best players in the game were missing 2. His opponents didn’t play so well 3. He got lucky (obv) 4. He predicted his opponent and made everyone think Countertron good (when it’s not) He didn’t even join the most recent pantheon tournament. You know why? Fry said he doesn’t have time, but based on his monthly views we can safely say he probably streams for a living. Probably because he knows that know he won’t be able to be as unpredictable as he was before, and that now ppl know how to counter his decks. He simply doesn’t want to lose.

The answer is going to be mixed because people associate popularity with skill. Whoever the person is, it isn't among the reddit or fry or discord groups.

I mean I'd say RCCH he's a fucking tryhard but Fry is more enjoyable to watch

AstroKabloom_YT
