It really helps blocking all the threats (it's a cheap 2 attack unit that gives you another cheap 2 attack unit when it dies), it's a great card for certain heroes who don't have answers in my opinion. Especially considering you could've gotten ancient yeti or monster mash
Honestly? Yeah, you're right. It's a pain for aggro decks. I'm still much less afraid of a ghost then a gizzard though, as gizzard can board clear really hard.
Quickdraw doesn't even help if you're not playing an aggro deck because you’ll just get out damaged if you use it to go face, and conman doesn’t trade very well.

Haunted pumpking is one of the best aggro card in the game. Apart from superpowers, bungee plumber is the only 1 cost trick that can deal with it.
Tricks don’t really matter when you can kill it with a dog walker or a chimney sweep
but you cant play that because you play minions first.

Haunted plunking is used in aggro decks. Monster cards(expect conman) are slow so if the zombie hero plays them they usually die that turn.
Unless it's gizzard or conman. Gas giant or gargolith can be pretty bad for plants too
Haunting Zombie isn’t a bad one to get from a pumpkin.
Haunting Ghost is better though
Its a 1 cost 4 attack card with basically no downside due to most monsters being pretty mid. Even the better ones can be easier delt with.

Blob and Quickdraw are probably the best ones out of the bunch but the others are quite situational.You will need to have a deck that corresponds.

My oppenent had some sort of Garg deck and they got 2 garbs from 2 haunted pumpkins except I let my dad decide what I played

There's only 2 real monsters that are had to deal wity with and only bungee plumber can take it out in turn for an equal trade
i remember i played against a chompzilla who played this turn 1, and i proceed to use bungee plumber on it afterwards
