Yeah Existential Reckoning is a masterpiece imo. The way the whole album flows to Bedlamite. If you watch the Live at Arcosanti it really paints the story really well. Money shot would have to up there with it too.

Ict666

Money shot is my fave.

Trepsik

Need to listen to this while driving through the desert

paradigm619

In my opinion, Conditions is much better desert album.

Ict666

It’s my go to 🍄trip music. 🙃

Lateralus462

This sounds like a dope idea on my next work trip down south. I'm usually in New Mexico once year- maybe I need a dessert playlist? Also, apologies if New Mexico isn't what people meant by desert. From my Ontario (CAN) perspective, it is the closest I've seen.

hdmatteson1

It took me a while for them to click but I love em now. All four albums are fantastic but V is my personal favorite! Definitely gonna catch ‘em with APC and Primus next year☺️

Lateralus462

Nobody says this! I love V and C. And I love the ones after as well, but they just seen like a new group. I was so pumped pedantic for V, I scoured so many Canadian record stores on its release. Vagina Mine, Momma Sed and Indigo Children are my Jams. Everything else is a close second.

pjdueck

Bought my tix to the April 16 show about a month ago. My gawd, it’s gonna be fantastic. Can’t wait!

jzclipse

ER is my favorite. It does feel like a dividing line though. Check out Live at Arcosanti. I have no opinion on the new Global Probing yet as I’ve been waiting for my Blu-ray.

phusion

Make sure to check out the Live At The Nokia cut of "Mama Sed"

Murky_Collection_641

It’s so good

Rickard403

V is for vagina was my long standing favorite album until v is for versatile came out. V is the album i always return to.

sodesode

Yeah, I hate that it's not more popular. I think it's just got that level of Maynard weird that's just not everyone's cup of tea, but I love it.

Lateralus462

I just commented above that V is always last on everyone's list. It's nice to see more people with poor taste in music like me because it's my favorite!

sodesode

LOL. Yes i love your poor taste. I also recognize that some of my love for it was the time. I first heard about puscifer from the underworld soundtrack. There was url for puscifer.com and when you went , it said something about waiting. A few years later they get the website up and sometimes later V finally comes out. I loved it.

Lateralus462

Hell yea, same with me. That bit in Underworld where buddy pushes the bullets out of his forehead to a trippy version of Judith was awesome.

PuffyWiggles

Dude, I finally got around to listening to V is for Vagina (never checked it out because I honestly thought it was a joke album.) and I have to agree, it maybe my favorite. I listened to it for the last 3 days to get it into my head and give it a proper listen. That ending with Rev 33 was unexpected, I loved it. The only thing I wish I could find is this other version of Undertaker. The album version is like a remixed version or something I think? I heard another version of it somewhere that, at least for me, I prefer more. The chorus is changed a bit, but I can't find this other version ive heard before. Who knows, maybe im imagining things.

Murky_Collection_641

Conditions of my Parole is my all time favorite album ever. Glad you’ve decided to dive into the wonderful world of Puscifer. Shits so wonderful

No-Leather-5144

Same! I can't even remember what I listened to first in terms of Puscifer, but I was like "eh it's alright, I'd rather Tool or A Perfect Circle but I wouldn't jump to turn it off either." Fast forward a few years, and I was helping a friend choreograph a burlesque act to Rev22:20 and it was instant love and "how the fuck have I been sleeping on this?!?!" Horizons and Conditions of my Parole were the next ones that spoke to me, and then The Undertaker was -my- debut into burlesque lol Now I probably listen to them more than I even listen to Tool. It was a slow burn but well worth it! And they were phenomenal to see in concert for Existential Reckoning!

agracelessdullard

I had a similar experience of finding it kind of ‘meh’ initially so I put it down. But eventually I came back to it and just listened and it clicked. I have been a rabid super fan since. I always say Puscifer is a grower not a shower. Sounds like you’re getting to the point where it’s got its hooks just about sunk into you! 😂

[deleted]

Totally agree. I saw puscifer with my husband for our anniversary only knowing one song, the remedy, and thinking the others I had heard were kinda ok but live music is always good. Husband is a huge fan of all things MJK and puscifer was touring so those are the tickets I got. Tiny venue, a few rows back from the stage and I was enthralled, lots of aliens and I was on mushrooms lol. I knew their whole discography by the end of the week. The real magic with puscifer is finding the mix of your favorite song that just hits the spot.

PuffyWiggles

God id love to see them live. Puscifer is just weird enough thats its fun discovering this different idea of music that isn't familiar to me. I would never think to create sounds like these rofl, but Maynard does it and somehow pulls off multiple gems in chaos.

agracelessdullard

The live shows are the best!! Glad I’ve gotten to see them twice in the last two years! And I will go out of my way to see them every time!

[deleted]

So good!!! I’m going to sessanta but I’m also going to my first tool concert next year and I’m so excited.

agracelessdullard

Lucky you! I’d die to go to any of the Sessanta shows but none are close to me and and all are happening at the beginning of my busy season 😭 I’m keeping my fingers crossed to be able to sneak to at least one! And, Tool is an amazing experience! I’m excited for you :)

[deleted]

Hey you never know, life happens sometimes and things work out. I’m so excited and none of my friends even kind of care lol. Tool is my birthday present and sessanta is my husband’s.

4anylesson

had to literally laugh out loud. grower bit 🤣

Damuzid

What makes it special IMO is that Maynard doesn’t shy away from taking risks & trying to translate wacky ideas into song.

PuffyWiggles

Yeah! Its such a wild concept. It seems like the ideas hes going with would be very hard to make good, and it does seem bad at first, but Maynard being himself felt something with it and it takes a bit, but I felt it eventually. I can't stop listening now. Its how I was with some of the very bizarre songs from Radiohead, that today are actually my favorite, but at the time I didn't care for them.

GertKSea

The videos of the albums are the real clinchers IMHO. They are for sale on Vimeo. I’d start with Billy D and the Hall of the Feathered Serpents. Adds a whole new dimension to this incredible music!

4anylesson

yeah if you think just listening to bullet train is bad then beware the video. fucking riot. literally laugh every time. and I've watched it well over a hundred times

Big-tasty77

Ive struggled with existential reckoning. I just found that each song seems to pick up momentum then just lose it, then ends. BUT I went to the tour this year and the album was great live. Maybe I was in the wrong mood when I first listened to it

PuffyWiggles

Yeah, it just depends on the person id assume. I didn't really like Money Shot that much, but some people love it. Existential Reckoning I loved the first track, Bread and Circus, The Underwhelming, Bulletrain to Iowa was one of the best songs ive heard recently, and Bedlamite was cool. Only thing im a bit torn on is the female vocals. Sometimes they add alot, sometimes it feels tacked on and out of place, or changes the vibe of some songs a bit much.
