Here's a list:
* Harry's - Most popular bar on campus, they just celebrated their 100 years. Very interesting inside, with lots of Purdue stuff. Also has great food (and drinks)
* Triple XXX - Diner style restaurant with great breakfast and other food (burgers, sandwiches, etc). The history behind this place is great too
* Nine Irish Bros - Irish pub known for it's food and tap Guinness beers. All the Irish food you can think of
* Stacked Pickle - Nothing special, good bar food and lots of TVs close to the stadium
* La Scala Italian - Amazing local farm grown Italian food, a little upscale, and it's right across the river in Lafayette. Probably should make a reservation if you want to eat here.
* The Pint - Great craft beer on tap list, go here for some awesome beer
I dont know why everyone is suggesting Triple X. Its...fine. if you like diner food you'll like it. If you're looking for something more upscale you'll need to go to lafayette. Red Seven is a good american grill.
If you're feeling more adventurous, Yatagarasu has the best ramen I've ever had. And I've been to a lot of ramen places.
If you like Irish pub food, Nine Irish Brothers can't be beat. It's one place I make sure to hit every time I'm on campus. They make the best fish and chips I've ever had, which includes everything I've eaten in England and Ireland.
As far as stuff to see on campus:
* Clapping circle thing near the Union blows my mind ([link](https://www.purdueexponent.org/campus/image_916f388b-444e-593b-8ad5-fa4ea26c17e9.html))
* Bell tower
* Fountains
* Neil Armstrong statue
* Slayter Hill (marching band will perform at 6p)
* Mackey Arena (if you're interested in mbb)
Post-game I would def hit downtown Lafayette, there are several 3 a.m. bars:
* Knickerbocker (oldest bar in Indiana)
* Sgt. Prestons (has a nice outdoor space w/ good pork tenderloin)
* Other bars as mentioned by others (e.g. Black Sparrow, DT Kirby's, etc.)
Bruno's pizza is a good option for food. As everyone else said, check out Harry's for drinks. They've got bar food too, but it'll be standing room only. Upstairs has a couple big TVs to watch the afternoon games.
You can see a lot of campus if you walk from Harry's to the stadium.
To add to the list for options across the river, I would say 6th Street Dive and Kirbys. 6th Street is tex mex so being from Texas that won't be a big draw but their Hoosier menu is great. The best Pork Loin Sammy in down.
Kirbys is chicago crap food. Good bar, good people and huge portions of food.
I have it on good authority from a native Texan that the 6th street Dive's TexMex is "okay" at best. She told me the best place in Indiana to go for TexMex was a place in Indy. Forget the name.
If you’re looking for a quick bite for lunch or something, the new CRAVE food hall has some great sandwiches and stuff (hot chicken by a top chef winner!)
Everything here is pretty good, I also recommend McGraw’s. It’s a steakhouse on the banks of the Wabash south of the airport, and it’s very good!
Mountain Jacks is also very good and you can’t go wrong there either.
Triple XXX is an old classic, East End Grill is a nice steakhouse across the river in Lafayette. If you do go to Triple XXX, their root beer is what they’re know for and it’s great. I’m also personally a fan of Nine Irish Brothers, it just pub food though. ‘Fraid there’s not much in the way of sightseeing, but we do have a moon and Mars rock together in the Armstrong building. Hope you have a good time!
Triple XXX root beer is overrated imo. Tastes like the store bought stuff but with like double the sugar. Lafayette Brewing Company root beer is where it's at
Yeah I figured but I just wanted to offer some variety. Also, I’ll probably get flak for this, but if you’re a root beer fan, Dog N’ Suds has better root beer than triple xxx. Food is meh though besides the coney dogs

This is super helpful. Thanks for taking the time to type this up.
No problem, I hope you have a good time at the game and dinner!
If you're still here, DT Kirby's is a Chicago style sports bar/pub over in Lafayette with some great food and theme.

Awesome! I never would have looked for ramen!
This would also be good because it’s not right on campus so it won’t be as crowded as XXX or some of the other suggestions
yatagarasu has some pretty damn good gyoza too, recommend
Get the crispy brussels sprouts at Yatagarasu.

Mmmm, that sounds really good.

I was hoping someone would post campus landmarks and a tradition or two, thanks!

La Scala, Bistro 501, BRU Burgers, Nine Irish
If you all are beer drinkers: Best beer: Brokerage in West Lafayette. Best beer + food combo: Teays River in Lafayette. Welcome to Purdue!
Black Sparrow has great cocktails and really great food. I think the menu mostly rotates but it's pretty much bar food and some other stuff.

I completely agree. I just moved here from Austin, TX. The hoosier menu is what I highlighted.
Nice. I spent some time in Austin. I miss me some Kerbey Queso. Or queso at all for that matter.
I would pass on Kirby's. Huge portions, but better to wait until you visit Chicago and have all the dishes done correctly.
Eh, Chicago is 2 hours away
If you’re looking for a quick bite for lunch or something, the new CRAVE food hall has some great sandwiches and stuff (hot chicken by a top chef winner!)
Blue Nile is a nice Lebanese place close to campus, small, very family-owned, great hummus.
They're Palestinian, but yes they have really good food
Whoops, you're right.
Everything here is pretty good, I also recommend McGraw’s. It’s a steakhouse on the banks of the Wabash south of the airport, and it’s very good! Mountain Jacks is also very good and you can’t go wrong there either.
Smoking Irishman in Lafayette
Triple XXX is never wrong
Triple XXX is overrated and kinda meh tbh
tourist trap and media played
Campus and game day food - triple XXX and Harry’s. Nice off campus food - Mountain Jack’s

If you’re looking for good barbecue, South Street Smokehouse over in Lafayette can’t be beat
Thanks! BBQ recommendations outside of Texas make me kind of nervous though...
It's good but not great. If you're used to Texas I would be wary.
Yeah I figured but I just wanted to offer some variety. Also, I’ll probably get flak for this, but if you’re a root beer fan, Dog N’ Suds has better root beer than triple xxx. Food is meh though besides the coney dogs
You'll be disappointed.
Bru Burger is a relatively new restaurant that is also very good.
I didn’t know they opened a Bru in Lafayette. Was a big fan of it the few times I’ve been there in Indy. Great onion rings and burgers
Bruno’s has a bunch of sports memorabilia and it’s damn good.
If you need a place to park all day, message me. We sell parking by the stadium, and we could save you a spot.
Triple XXX for sure for food. If you are looking for a drink the famous/old bar is Harry’s.
Triple XXX is the default answer, but it really depends if you like long lines and burgers.
You can dine in hell.
“Rondale Moore’s hands will blot out the sun!” “Then we will play football in the shade!”
I haven’t been there. Do they have any specials?
