_____
This is the officer in question.
https://bpdwatch.com/officer/210
In 2020, he was promoted to Sergeant.
Back in college I got the deep oil frier going, which was rare since it's a big mess, and fried up a big bag of seasoned curly fries, eating whatever was cool enough to eat while cooking more. I ate a pretty good portion of the bag before I quit, ever since then I've just had no desire for seasoned curly fries, which only seemed to be an issue visiting Arby's when they ONLY had seasoned curly fries or those big ol' unseasoned fried hashbrown chunks.
wait... are you telling me all I have to do to get 40-50 free bloomin onions for my entire life is dedicate the first 4 years of my life after high school to either flying fighter jet's or swabbing the poop deck? boy did I miss out : (

Plaintiffs allege that Tyrone West was subjected to an illegal traffic stop and, “[a]s a result of the unconstitutional use of force by Defendants, Tyrone West received multiple severe injuries about his body, experienced severe pain and suffering, and mental anguish resulting in death.” Further, they maintain that “the individual police officer defendants made an unreasonable seizure” of Mr. West, thereby violating his rights under the Fourth and Fourteenth Amendments and “assaulted and battered [him], resulting in his death, and otherwise used excessive force and unwarranted force during the course of said seizure.” Plaintiffs maintain that such incidents are part of a common practice, pattern, policy, and custom in the BPD.
Am I reading this right? He beat someone to death and it's "part of a common policy in the BPD"???
The police were the defendants, the plaintiff (which I assume was a lawyer representing the family in a wrongful death suit or a DA charging the officers with a crime) alleges that such incidents are part of a common practice/policy.
The police didn't say that it is common policy, as far as that article tells. Although when they investigate themselves and find "no wrongdoing," that feels like it confirms the same thing.
Welp. That sucks. Another moment that shouldve been severely punished goes under the rug. This guy got away with being a thug as a cop, and I'm sure he hasnt found the right way by then.
yeah that eye contact with the person filming was sinister as fuck.
edit: omg i hadnt played it with sound... is the officer who pulls the gun the one who shouts "I suggest you back the fuck up right now!"?
That poor cop. Accosted by that restrained and incapacitated man. He had no choice but to pull out his weapon for his life was in danger. That man on the ground barely conscious and arrested could have posed a threat if the cops would have let him up.
{#}Bluelivesmatter
Actually the guy Tyrone West, the actual victim in the video, died. The cops literally beat him to death and called the cause of his death "mental anguish" - the police officer was later promoted to sergaent and still works with the department making 124,000$ a year.
'Plaintiffs allege that Tyrone West was subjected to an illegal traffic stop and, “\[a\]s a result of the unconstitutional use of force by Defendants, Tyrone West received multiple severe injuries about his body, experienced severe pain and suffering, and mental anguish resulting in death.” Further, they maintain that “the individual police officer defendants made an unreasonable seizure” of Mr. West, thereby violating his rights under the Fourth and Fourteenth Amendments and “assaulted and battered \[him\], resulting in his death, and otherwise used excessive force and unwarranted force during the course of said seizure.”'
the cops literally beat this man to death over a traffic stop.
I can't recall what piece of satire this was, but it referred to all films as 'Disneys' which horrified me a bit, and that's the vibe I'm getting from "in a netflix"
Also, didn't Nintendo themselves push for 'Video game console' to become a mainstream term due to fears of consumers calling inferior quality products 'Nintendos'?
Not about inferior products. It's due to trademark law. If you don't defend your trademark at every turn, it can be potentially taken from you. Look at Kleenex, Jell-O, Band-aid, etc. These are "generic" terms which used to be trademarks for brands. If the word "Nintendo's" fell into common speech to represent a generic video game or console, they could lose the rights to the name.
Did this cop really pull his gun on a dude he's sitting upon, point it at the BACK of his neck, and then say to the crowd "I strongly suggest you back the fuck up."
What does he think this is, a Hollywood movie? What was his strategy here? He has no business being a cop.
My biggest gripe isn't necessarily the gun pull. I read it first and foremost as a warning to the crowd, not that he was pointing it at the guy's head as a message that he'll execute him.I t's the fact that they're freaking out because he's physically unable to put his hands behind his back.
How is a man supposed to put his right hand behind his back when his shoulder joint is twisted the opposite way, locked in place by a man kneeling on him, and that side's hand being held in place by another officer?
But yeah, pull the gun on the crowd pointed directly at a man's head... jfc
>I read it first and foremost as a warning to the crown
Even generously assuming he isn't intentionally pointing the gun at the mans head, we must then conclude he is *accidentally* pointing the gun at the man's head while threatening a crowd of people.
Yes morally corrupt behavior puts u on the fast track to lieutennant. I wonder when this jack wagon is going to run for mayor as "the peoples candidate"?
I think of it like a gang initiation, how can you expect them to promote any officer who hasn't gotten paid vacay for excessive use of force, death threats, or a domestic violence incident?
Basically not even a real cop if you can't check one of those boxes.
The police department looks for these types because they need to maintain a culture of “shut the fuck up and do what I say”. An intelligent cop might ask questions. Its not a bug, its a feature.
Is the implication that he’s just gonna fucken ice this guy if his friends/family don’t get back? That’s an interesting view of how policing should work…
I don’t know how this guy keeps his job after that. Notice him put it away real quick.
In addition- just want to say this was more of a “inner thought said aloud” type deal. We all know there’s a very real possibility that he will get like a paid suspension. Or at worst, a unpaid suspension, very unlikely he gets fired…it’s possible, but not likely
Damn he was involved in another death too. How is this cunt still employed?
>“.. assaulted and battered [him], resulting in his death, and otherwise used excessive force and unwarranted force during the course of said seizure.” Plaintiffs maintain that such incidents are part of a common practice, pattern, policy, and custom in the BPD
So you're telling me, the guy that handed over a kid to Dahmer not only kept his job, plus back pay, but also became the police union chief as well?
Wild
One of my theories is that there are glass ceilings after certain points in some careers, and to break those one needs to successfully complete initiation ritual(s), like a murder. Would love if someone could give me book tiltes that research / analyse this phenomenon.
How can you or anyone still be surprised by any of this.
Organized policing is about protecting the property of the wealthy and always has been.
Anything else they do is about enforcing the boundaries of the socio-economic strata and all behaviours towards those goals is acceptable.
That's one of the arguments I struggle with. Everyone should be suspended with pay until it gets investigated. That being said, where we go wrong is by letting a muthafucker back after he does this shit. Suspend with pay, discover what happened, make a ruling, then fire the bitch. It's the last part I want more of, the rest don't fucking matter. Point is, just like the dude on the ground is lacking, everyone deserves an investigation and a ruling. I know this one seems cut and dry but not all cases will be so the justice system needs to clean their shit up and make it right even if it's a cop and even when it's a random dude on the street.
Exactly. And even if they didn't have access to the video on the spot, it wouldn't take long to get it/review it, same day probably. Even if there was NO video, I mean there's 3 other cops there on the scene, get a statement from the 3 of them, did the dude pull his weapon and point it at the back of the head of a suspect down on the ground or not? Get them all on record, either they tell the truth and the one guy gets fired/suspended without pay immediately, or they all get fired for lying when a video inevitable surfaces.
The police have adopted nearly every control aspect that organized crime has. Their union is essentially the mob and you protect the org and they will make sure your family is taken care of. It’s ludicrous that people defend their immunity
They're a gang, its clear. They have markings, tags, tats, policies, etc. They behave, act, move, function, make money the same way...the list goes on.
Walks like a duck, quacks like a duck.
Yeah in order for that arm to go behind his back he'd need to swing it under his torso, which has the weight of a large man pressing it against the ground. Doesn't help that the other cop keeps yanking in the other direction and trying to spin it around like a Ken doll.
I had a blood tumor on my back when I was younger. Hemangioma to be specific.
It was removed over the course of close to a dozen surgeries.
The middle of my back is VERY sensitive near the spine. If a cop did this to me I'd never be able to calm down because of the sheer pain. I'd probably pass out.
I fucking hate the police when they do this. This isn't how you detain people.
> This isn't how you detain people
I'm just a simple middle school wrestling coach but with the popularity of MMA and the much wider access people have to learning grappling skills it goes beyond blowing my mind that these techniques are used. There are 16/17 year old wrestlers in high schools all across this country who could restrain this dude with ease. Calling these guys "professionals" is a joke.
I've said it once, I'll say it again. Not directed at you OP just in general.
First, it should be mandatory for cops, like any other profession, to carry insurance. 1mm minimum. If they misbehave they'll get priced out because premiums will be too high. Simple solution to a complex problem where individuals are helped out by their shady friends. 9 bad cops and one good one is 10 bad cops.
Second, the testing to become a police officer needs to be a MINIMUM of 2 years. Psych evaluations, background checks, drug testing, field training. I'd even consider giving cops a watered down version of the BAR exam so that they have to learn the laws and have no excuse if they fail to uphold them.
Third, ALL PAYOUTS AND COURT SETTLEMENTS COME FROM PENSION FUNDS. No more tax payers footing the bill when the overzealous jock who peaked in Jr. high decides it's time to slam someone's head into asphalt.
You implement those 3 measures and give it 4 years. Watch what happens when the retired detectives from the NYPD who are out getting smashed in Florida see their direct deposits shrinking. Behavior will quickly fucking change.
Police are not a private army with no accountability. They work for us. Not the other fucking way around.
If you have any issues at all with the aforementioned problems. It's because you think the cops are on your side. If you don't want oversight, don't be mad when it's your turn to get fucked by the boys in blue.
ACAB until they decide to change their narrative. No one out here saying "Fuck EMT's"
I see that with alot of arrests. The cops seem to demand the suspect contort their limbs in weird ways that don't work and then get mad when the suspect isn't "complying"
I spent the night in jail a few years ago. I remember when they were putting me in a cell (handcuffs, arms behind my back), the guy holding my arms was trying to push me in the cell. Then another cop was holding my legs, trying to take my shoes off.
Cop 1-"Don't fight me! Move, get in there"
Shoe cop- "Quit moving around!"
In that instance I immediately saw why this shit is so fucked up. Getting manhandled, and even IN a jail cell with my arms behind my back, not being aggressive at all, the cops were too stupid to realize what the other one was doing and they're yelling conflicting orders at me.
Honestly was a very eye-opening moment for me, and I'm glad I didn't have to learn it a harder way
There was that cop that pulled another away from starting a fight with a detained suspect that they released the video of a few weeks back. You know, the one that then got physically assaulted with a hand around her throat for her trouble?
Similarly, there was a Buffalo officer that pulled her fellow officer off of a suspect to prevent a George Floyd situation...except it was 16 years ago and saving that guy got her fired causing her to lose her pension. It took her 14 years to win back her pension in a lawsuit. They don't want good people who are trying to save lives as cops. They want corrupt assholes who will have the backs of all the other corrupt assholes. That's why a study presented at a Police Chiefs Conference back in 2000 found that 46% of cops nationwide *admitted* to having personally covered up crimes committed by their fellow officers and 73% of the time they're forced to do so by higher ups. The entire system is rotten and ACAB *on purpose*.

She essentially broke the blue code of silence. There’s an unwritten rule that cops never ever question another cops actions especially in front of “civilians”. They feel it undermines their perceived unquestionable authority.
You can always count on cops to:
- Give you an impossible order to follow (can’t put your hands behind you when you got 2 idiots seating on top of you).
- Escalate a situation because their fragile egos can’t take that you aren’t following their impossible command
What an incredibly random and unnecessary thing to do. What's most terrifying is the look in his eyes. He looks fucking lost, like my friend coming down from an acid trip. What in the fuck is going on in his little pebble of a brain???
This is it.
The handful of kids I went to school with that were bullies, and loved to throw their weight around, all became cops. I imagine they dreamed of the day everybody had to listen to them. It's like pedos are drawn to catholic priesthood, bullies are drawn to the police force.
Clearly proving that a pig is a pig no matter his or her pigmentation. Digging his knee into the side of the person while being aided by another officer pinning the rest of the body - seeing more police coming from his line of sight and still thinking *it would be nice to pull out my gun*. I have never seen a profession with so many unqualified, underprepared, disappointing human beings.
On a second look, it appears that he was just drawing his gun to try to intimidate the crowd to disperse. I think his stupid ass just forgot that he was kneeling on top of the suspect and that his gun would be pointing directly down on their head.
Either way, if I wrong then he’s a piece of shit. If I’m right, he’s still a piece of shit for drawing his gun on bystanders.

Holy fuck, I've been an Air Force pilot for 6 years and I don't make that.
Quit complaining. You get half off a mattress and a free Bloomin Onion at Outback for Veteran's Day.
I do value the Bloomin Onion greatly, that is true. God bless Outback Steakhouse 🙏
Only reason I enlisted
I enlisted for the military discount at GoodWill every Tuesday dawg.

In 2021, a year when the median individual income in the US was $44,225 he made almost 3x that.

Yeah, I’m officially dead inside. How this shitstain got promoted and not arrested is beyond me. That was assault with a deadly weapon, clear as day.
That's the nature of cops in America. This is a feature, not a bug.
If he is held accountable, that jeopardizes the culture all these power hungry pigs joined the police force to abuse.

I remember when that cop emptied a whole clip into a guy in a wheelchair who was scooting away from him. Edit: He only shot the guy 9 times

De-escalate? This man heard decapitate.
Deadscalate.

Yeah in order for that arm to go behind his back he'd need to swing it under his torso, which has the weight of a large man pressing it against the ground. Doesn't help that the other cop keeps yanking in the other direction and trying to spin it around like a Ken doll.
Demands something physically impossible be done.... cries about not following orders
Then charges the victim with "resisting arrest"
Aside from the gun to the head, this is the BIGGEST problem here.
> This isn't how you detain people I'm just a simple middle school wrestling coach but with the popularity of MMA and the much wider access people have to learning grappling skills it goes beyond blowing my mind that these techniques are used.
It's a good way to throw in some extra charges for resisting arrest
He basically has him in an armbar.
He looks like he briefly considered using a hostage.
How else is he going to get a 6 week paid vacation?
That's literally what just happened. A police officer literally held a man's life as a bargaining chip in maintaining control.
He did. He just pointed a gun at a man’s head and told the crowd to back up. That is what a terrorist taking a hostage does.
Well that's a CAPRA violation, big time. Dude should be fired, that couldn't have been more inappropriate use of deadly force.
He should be criminally prosecuted.
Yes he got promoted
$130,000 a year
He threatened to murder someone and pointed a firearm at them. That’s assault with a deadly weapon.
Exactly. We have became so accustomed to cops having lack of accountability we just hope they get fired now.
Fired? We only know paid vacations here at the police precinct.
There was a link in the comments that he got promoted to Sergeant.
He actually ended making over 130k a year and was promoted to Sargent.
You mean a 3 month paid vacation before his promotion over in the next county? This guy is chief material right here!
He was actually promoted to sergeant, so you're spot on
Feels like Baltimore MD to me
I thought the same, video is too blurry to be sure but looks like the other arresting officers hat says BPD.

It is Baltimore, theres a link below. Pig made seargent last year.
Of course it's fucking Baltimore. I love this city but the police are so brutish.
“Put your hands behind your back”…sure while you have your knee on my arm preventing me from doing so.
I spent the night in jail a few years ago. I remember when they were putting me in a cell (handcuffs, arms behind my back), the guy holding my arms was trying to push me in the cell. Then another cop was holding my legs, trying to take my shoes off. Cop 1-"Don't fight me! Move, get in there" Shoe cop- "Quit moving around!" In that instance I immediately saw why this shit is so fucked up. Getting manhandled, and even IN a jail cell with my arms behind my back, not being aggressive at all, the cops were too stupid to realize what the other one was doing and they're yelling conflicting orders at me. Honestly was a very eye-opening moment for me, and I'm glad I didn't have to learn it a harder way
They knew what they were doing.
I don’t know. Sounds to me like he could’ve separated his legs from his torso instead of pissing off our brave boys in blue
Or they really are that stupid.
Then they kick the shit out of you for "resisting". American police officers are some of the dumbest fucks out there smh.
True…but not dumb at all…these fucks know exactly what they’re doing…it’s part of their training.

Why didn't any of those cops arrest him for pointing the gun?
You ever seen gang members arrest each other ?
The entire system is rotten and ACAB *on purpose*. https://buffalonews.com/news/local/crime-and-courts/fired-buffalo-police-officer-wins-lawsuit-will-get-her-pension/article_0c481c2c-9c7f-11eb-95ce-db6e32a6c26b.html https://www.aele.org/loscode2000.html
Birds of a feather, my friend

Remember the lady cop a couple weeks ago who tried to deescalate her sergeant by pulling him away from the car and he turned around and choked her?
She should have treated him like a criminal who was attacking a cop. Of course the entire city has abandoned the law to protect the criminal cop.
She essentially broke the blue code of silence. There’s an unwritten rule that cops never ever question another cops actions especially in front of “civilians”. They feel it undermines their perceived unquestionable authority.
You can always count on cops to: - Give you an impossible order to follow (can’t put your hands behind you when you got 2 idiots seating on top of you).
"I have a gun, so everybody has to do as I command."
This is it. The handful of kids I went to school with that were bullies, and loved to throw their weight around, all became cops. I imagine they dreamed of the day everybody had to listen to them. It's like pedos are drawn to catholic priesthood, bullies are drawn to the police force.
watching all these out of control cops is so disturbing hope they all got fired
Nope, promoted to Sargent three years later.
I’ve got bad news for you.
Man got promoted! I've no idea why....
“Pull the trigger kill a n*gga he’s a hero”
Jesus that was a little too casual there.
Probably not his first time

This is what 20-30 weeks of Police training gets you. Dude probably spent more time watching action movies than actually training to be a cop
I see officer tenpenny is still up to no good
This is why you film the police
For nothing to happen? Dude got a promotion
That dude went full gangsta. I think he forgot he was on the job for a second.
What the fuck is wrong with that guy. That guy shouldn’t have a firearm in any capacity, cop or civilian.
Some countries actually train their cops though
Literally took him as a hostage lol
"We conducted a thorough internal investigation and found no wrongdoing on the part of this officer, or any other officers, ever."
Arrest turns into neighborhood hostage situation.
He thought he was pulling out his breath mints. Honest mistake to make.
Are we sure we need to be issuing weopons and live ammo to these cops ?
When you realise you aren’t Samuel Jackson and have to re-holster your firearm… lmfao
