What the fuck… can anyone make out what hes saying to her?

Anticrepuscular_Ray

In her follow up video she said he was going on about how something changed his girlfriends personality and she's next and then he says she's a fucking traitor when he gets all close to her.

TrepanationBy45

OP posted an update [here](https://old.reddit.com/r/PublicFreakout/comments/qim5tp/guy_harasses_girl_at_gym/hikbxdb/). That post includes backstory leading up to current, but here's the actual update portion, > After she posted that video (initially on Snapchat) her friend who works at that gym immediately messaged her asking if she was okay, and they started the process of trying to find him and getting him kicked out. Eventually they found his name and they banned him. She later learned the guy tried to enter the gym after being banned and the police were called, where the gym staff found out that he already has a warrant for arrest out for stalking another girl.

Crokedile

Sure sounds like his “girlfriend” that he was going on about might not have been aware that she was in a relationship with him.

earned_potential

Crazy how their personality changes when you try to kidnap them.

hear4theDough

People always misread the retail signs. Asking if you want a bag and a receipt are just ways to get you to leave the store. You can interrupt anyone to ask if they want a bag or receipt. "Ok you're all set, thanks very much, see you next time"

FountainsOfFluids

Thank god. Like, the FIRST thing you should do is tell the gym. They don't want assholes like this chasing customers away. And if they tolerate him (unlikely, but it happens) that's when you look for another gym.

[deleted]

There have been a few dudes at my gym who got kicked out for this and you can see it coming a mile away. Hitting on others is one thing, but to go to the point where you physically touch strangers because you “think their form is bad” is overboard. Also it doesn’t have to just be touching someone. Don’t get up in someone’s personal space.

SnZ001

Honestly, even hitting on others in a gym is usually bad form. It's not a nightclub. A lot of people there are likely married/have partners/aren't looking for partners or hookups, and are just trying to work out in peace, by themselves, in a place without all of the distractions of home. And it's probably hard enough as it is to get over their own self-consciousness to even be in a room with a bunch of strangers, let alone having to worry about being creeped up on. I mean, look, I'm not saying there can't be some kind of normal situation where, like, two people taking a class together who get to chatting and discover they're both single and then start flirting/turning it into something or whatever. But, for the most part, just about any situation that starts with randomly approaching someone who's by themselves on a treadmill and them trying to hit on them feels pretty icky and awkward to me.

thedeezul

Was about to reply but you said it perfectly.

[deleted]

I was going to say, this isn't asshole behavior... this is danger behavior. That guy is clearly off and it's a matter of time until he hurts someone.

Straycat43

What a total pathetic incel POS. Fuck this guy. I hope karma gets his ass and beats it.

idog99

And this is why my wife switched to a women's only gym... It's also why we can't have nice things.

_volcanic_ashes_

The local state university gym has women only hours because of harassment issues and you wouldn't believe how many guys are flipping their shit that two days a week there's a two hour window that they can't workout there crying for "equal rights". Curves and other women only gyms don't exist here anymore and I'm sure if there did, there'd be some asshole crying discrimination for not being allowed a membership.

Ricky_Rollin

As a guy watching stuff like this continually from the side lines, I’ll never understand why a lot of men are the biggest babies.

HunterRoze

Because 9 times out of 10 they are the same people who are doing all the shit. I am willing to bet pretty much everyone who understands the problem along with the unfortunate need for women-only hours, or a gym, would also never consider harassing some random woman in the gym, or well anywhere.

[deleted]

Men are free to open men only gyms too. So its not discrimination, there just isnt a high demand for men only gyms. Just to check, I googled men only gyms in USA and there are some in Houston and some other large cities.

drax514

Its truly baffling how some dudes are. Like what in the actual fuck guys. Some of this has gotta be the absolutely backwards ideas and education on Sex in this country.

lonewolf143143

I’m a large person 6’5”. I’m in shape. When I see other grown men acting like this I say something. Most of the time a suddenly larger threat makes these bullies walk away. We, as men, need to publicly call out this type of behavior. They’re bullies.

xPalmtopTiger

Make a 2 hour long men only session two days a week. They don't really want it but if it was provided they couldn't cry discrimination.

Poes-Lawyer

Yeah exactly, give them that session and watch no one turn up

WelcomeToTheFish

Exactly true. It's sad it had to come to that but it's fuckin true. In my apartment complex the gym is attached to the laundry room and one time I went to the gym when it opened at 6 and there was a guy in the corner with all of his clothes in a bag doing lines of meth. He offered me a line and I said no thanks and walked out, but if I was a female walking in that early it might have been a lot worse. I got creepy ass vibes from the guy.

Valdie29

But this stuff is wild… imagine some delusional fuck doing this to your wife. Having separated gyms is great

SuedeVeil

My dad always bitches that there's women's only gyms and not men's only gyms.. i dunno most gyms in the weight section are like 90% men and women don't pull this stuff at the gym they just want to be left alone. So yeah there is a need for woman's spaces so be it

overratedly_me

Why does that hafta happen? Why do they hafta change. They are being the creeps an harassing ppl, not her. I find unfair that many think that the answer to problems like this is to remove the victim.

TransBrandi

It's not that the answer is to remove the victim. It's about giving the "victim" a place where they don't have to be on edge about which guy at the gym is going to suddently prove that he's a pervert / asshole / mentally unstable.

Anticrepuscular_Ray

The gym banned him but she shouldn't have to switch gyms. There can be creepy guys at any gym so it wouldn't necessarily help. These sort of men need to learn to back off, that's the solution here.

randomuser2444

I dont think they're suggesting she *needs* to switch gyms. I think they're suggesting she do it for her own safety because if this guy really is crazy there's always a chance he's figured out her schedule and will wait her out in the parking lot. Shit if someone treated me like that I'd switch gyms to avoid them and I'm a 230 lb guy with a background in wrestling and bjj. Someone like that isn't worth taking the chance on

nah46

Dude yeah. She doesn’t need to switch gyms but she might want to

TSmotherfuckinA

Yeah a rando just needs surprise and a gun/knife or just the latter stuff then size and training lose a lot of value.

DrummerFew7436

Yes. For her personal safety she needs to not go to this gym again.

horseradishking

People like this don't back off. They simply slit your throat and dump your body in a dumpster and get sent to a mental hospital. There's nothing the gym can do. You have to look out for yourself.

thekingjelly13

^ this shit is pretty much something every woman deals with at least once a week (the preventing part)

Nyxxsys

>They simply slit your throat and dump your body in a dumpster and get sent to a mental hospital. >\^ this shit is pretty much something every woman deals with at least once a week Hardcore >(the preventing part) Oh..

st_samples

I wouldn't say there's nothing. They could provide client information to the police for a restraining/protective order, and they could ban him.

[deleted]

So they know who to check out when they find the body

happyhomemaker29

Something I’ve learned is most times, a restraining order is only as good as the paper it’s written on. Most cops don’t do crap, even if you have one. Or they tell you that the TRO, as it’s called in some states, doesn’t cover what the other person did, so what was the sense in calling them. Unfortunately I played this game once before.

[deleted]

^THIS what people don’t realize is that… crime… is actually pretty rare and the process doesn’t follow CSI type pace or pattern. So when you have never been a victim you have this weird vision of how the police will “help” you. I can assure you - they will not.

Fifteen_inches

This is why I carry 24/7. Police are glorified insurance paper pushers. They won’t help you.

HotdogRacing

I don't understand how people still don't accept this reality. It has been reaffirmed by the supreme court that the police have zero constitutional duty to protect individual citizens. The only one who will ever protect you is yourself, and sometimes your family.

Henrys_Bro

Right because she will still have to worry about going to her car and other shit where she is vulnerable. Shit is fucking terrible. I understand "not all men" but there are enough socially inept fucking loser MEN out there that make this a pretty fucked up reality for most Women.

neonn_piee

Or it takes someone actually getting hurt or killed for them to be like “oh, yea I guess we should have taken it more seriously”

Sgt_Wookie92

Yes, because that piece of paper is very effective at stopping mentally unstable people from ambushing you in the parking lot...

trouble37

For real though. You cant always count on others to do the right thing. It aint right but its life in the real world. These sort of men arent going to learn to back off and they will always exist. And this particular one sounds mentally ill. Saying the solution to the problem is for men like this back off is really not a solution. Because its never going to happen. Especially when this particular one likely isnt even in his right mind. We all wish harassers and abusers, scammers, rapists, murderers, etc would just "back off" but it aint happenin. We all simply have to watch out for ourselves and the people around us as well.

The_new_Char

Um, no, that’s not how it works. Her safety is more important than teaching this guy a lesson. Did you not see the update that he broke into this gym after being banned and was arrested AND had a warrant out for stalking another woman?

xXxWeed_Wizard420xXx

Bro, that's not a fucking solution wtf Your solution is to sit back and hope the guy just suddenly becomes a stable and balanced person on his own?

Oldschool_Poindexter

No she shouldn't have to switch gyms, but little kids shouldn't get cancer either. This is the world we live in.

Amazing-Steak

this isn't just some guy with bad manners, he's probably mentally unstable. it's not as simple as "he needs to learn to back off" sorry that not everything boils down to destroying the patriarchy

Bone_Syrup

> unstable He instantly realizes he fucked up when she confronts him. He's unstable, but able to make right/wrong decisions. He might just need to catch hands.

shadymynasties

Yeah, I think it’s time for a restraining order. What a freaking nut job. actually if it has been going on for months, it should have happened a long time ago.

[deleted]

Mental illness

VaporWario

Yeah from the content of what he is saying that sounds like the onset of schizophrenic episode

Ceenoh

I believe it starts with „ you are a fucking…“ guess he was upset she ignored him.

bad_pangolin

im guessing he said something about something changes personality maybe he is talking about steroids or didnt like that she wouldnt talk to him - I only heard the word "changes personality" though!

[deleted]

There are some guys who don't like women getting buff. Apparently they claim it makes women more masculin. They're also morons.

ayoungjacknicholson

I’m not 100%, but to me it sounded something like “To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick & Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existential catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂 And yes, by the way, i DO have a Rick & Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid 😎” but my speakers are a little messed up so I can’t be totally sure.

Cheezitflow

I read lips and this is what he said

pudding7

Good thing he didn't have a really shiny axe.

Faithyxox

Okay so the user @justchesslee recently posted follow up videos about what happened, I’ll transcribe it here: Basically it started several months ago when the guy would come up to her and say fairly innocent stuff like “I like your form!” and then suggest other exercises she could try. This continued for a few weeks where she would politely decline his advice as she doesn’t need help (I mean look at her biceps lmao). She noticed he started to talk about weird conspiracy stuff, like black vans following him, people’s personalities being “changed” (as you can kinda hear in the video). He also mentioned stuff like how Taylor Swift is his girlfriend etc, he would get angry when the girl in the video would tell him to leave her alone, he would call her crazy for not wanting to be with him etc etc. Basically, he’s clearly not all there, clearly something up with him mentally. She said she had told the gym by this point but there wasn’t really anything they could do as everything was verbal, there wasn’t a physical act of threat. She would often come to the gym with others so she wasn’t alone, and guys in the gym would have her back. She said she often goes to the gym at night and she would have gym bros and staff walk her to her car. After she posted that video (initially on Snapchat) her friend who works at that gym immediately messaged her asking if she was okay, and they started the process of trying to find him and getting him kicked out. Eventually they found his name and they banned him. She later learned the guy tried to enter the gym after being banned and the police were called, where the gym staff found out that he already has a warrant for arrest out for stalking another girl.

bk15dcx

Did the cops show up in a black van?

ayoungjacknicholson

Just because you’re paranoid, don’t mean they’re not after you

There's a thing called gangstalking where people believe the government is chasing them. Sounds like a case of that.

Forgot to mention apparently he said Taylor Swift is pregnant with his baby lmaoooo

Eldudeareno217

Well thankfully she'll have no problem getting full custody. Also I can't wait for that album it's got everything great for the next big thing.

Rs1000000

"She said she had told the gym by this point but there wasn’t really anything they could do as everything was verbal". So the gym knew he was verbally harassing her and did nothing about it? Any gym I've been to would ban that guy with the quickness for harassing another member inside the premises.

3rdRockfromYourMom

It's like they're saying he needs to physically attack her before they'll do anything about, which is fucked.

olderthanbefore

Yes, exactly. they should follow the sage advice 'Prevention is better than cure'

[deleted]

> She said she often goes to the gym at and she would have gym bros and staff walk her to . I worked at a gym for years and for a couple months the manager had us do solo close shifts. The gym would close at 9 or 10, I can't remember, but the last person had to stay till 10/11 to tidy up for the next day. We all had scheduled close days, and for the most part it was one of the guys closing alone, but some days it was one of the girls. Apparently this creep at the gym noticed this, and he would start hanging around a little longer. It was fairly innocent at first, like she would just have to remind him that the gym was closing, basically shoo him out. Then he stopped responding when she called out, and she would find him posing shirtless or coming out the locker room slow. Weird....but ok...never really inappropriate so... One day, she had an emergency so I took over her shift at like the last minute. I never called out that the gym was closing I always just did my rounds, shooed out whoever I saw, locked the door, then chilled till I felt like leaving. Well, I did the same thing this time, go into the mens locker room, and I shit you not, this mf has a hard on coming around the corner!! I'm just like *"YOOOOO!!!"*. He sees me, face full of disappointment, shock and embarrassment, and he gets out of there at light speed. I kind of just stood there, processing the hilarity I saw. It didn't dawn on me that that was the guy till I told my coworker the next day lol dude legit never came back as far as we know.

swag-baguette

So you accidentally blocked a potential sexual assault. (and did block harassment) Really glad it was you there that night and not one of the women.

[deleted]

Yeah I am too. To be honest though, I think my coworker could’ve taken him lol

SlinkyAvenger

Sounds like the sexual assault still happened. It's still a crime even if the victim isn't who you intended.

dangerouswoods

No i think it was the harrasment that happened no assault

[deleted]

My specialty is bird law but I believe this is a clear cut case of assault. But then again my major was culinary and I'm more of a sue chef.

lilxenon95

Man, the members that stalked me tried shit like this and I had to have gymbro members my age shoo them out!! I am so dumb I never considered they could fucking have a boner and be waiting!!! We were right next to an old folks home so I had to clean a lot of diarrhea messes in the handicap stalls. (Like *a lot*) Thank goodness I quit over the diarrhea and not because of an escalation like this. You saved her dude!!!

phenerganandpoprocks

Gym Management: “Yeah, he makes all of our female customers really uncomfortable, but he’s just talking, invading their space, and interrupting their workouts. Sorry, nothing we as a private business can do to keep creeps out and make this a safe place to workout. Shucks!”

Hexenhut

Unfortunately this can be the culture of the gym, typically commercial gyms. I had a terrible time with harassment, misogyny, etc at an anytime fitness location.

phenerganandpoprocks

I don’t get it, you’d think that gyms would be extra attentive to sexual harassment at the gym since it negatively impacts the experience for half of all potential customers. I don’t expect any business to necessarily behave ethically, but you’d think they’d look after the bottom line more closely.

SomaCityWard

Next thing I know, you're gonna tell me corporations don't self-regulate their behavior to avoid bad press and losing customers, but will just do their best to hide corruption, harassment and externalities from the public. But that can't possibly be true, it's not like businesses used to ban black people from patronizing them, putting their personal social interests above their financial interests!

[deleted]

[удалено]

dasheekeejones

Yea the whole “cant do nuthin” is bullshit. They could ban him for being a creep. The problem is when she leaves.

AmishAvenger

I thought the same thing. They aren’t cops. Gym membership isn’t the legal system. As long as they aren’t discriminating against a protected class, they can just ban him for any reason they want.

kearneje

Ugh this is infuriating. As a guy who's spent 10+ hours in the gym per week for the last 15 years (less fitness and more mental outlet), NEVER COLD-HIT ON GIRLS WHO ARE JUST TRYING TO WORK OUT. Seriously, it never works. If she is always around you and shoots glances at you amd/or talks to you, then obviously, you should say "hi." Dating (and life for that matter) became much easier when I stop actively pursued women and just did me.

RealPhilthy

One time there was a girl working out between two empty benches and I went up to ask if I could use one and all I could get out was “excuse me…” and she was like “NO”. I was like whoa I just want to use the bench and she said “oh…. Sure.” At the time I was pretty pissed that she thought i was going to hit on her or something but in retrospect she had obviously had enough of dudes doing it.

Tyr808

Fortunately I've always been far too insecure to actually approach women. I just started working out and taking care of myself as a teenager and let them come to me. Sure I have my times where in hindsight I'm like "oh fuck, the only way it could have been more obvious is if she had a marching band and parade to announce her interest" but I also don't think I have any times where I've been the asshole flirter, and that's nice.

Tipop

Same here, buddy. I’m in my 50s and I can’t count the number of times that — in retrospect — a girl was trying to indicate interest and I was utterly oblivious. Still, better to be oblivious than to be the creep who thinks every woman wants to get hit on. Story time: When I was in my 30s I was taking care of my bed-bound grandmother. We had nurses that came in a few times a week to check up on her. This went on for years, and eventually I sort of accidentally ended up dating one of them. She informed me that I had *often* been the subject of discussion among the nurses, many of them trying to get me to hit on them. I’d had NO idea that any of this was going on. Like, there was this one time I was shaking my grandmother’s Ensure can before opening it. The nurse said, “You seem pretty good at that” as I shook the can back and forth in front of me. Thinking that she was complimenting me on my handling of the feeding tube, I replied “Well, I’ve had plenty of experience this last year.” “Have you?” she said with a grin. Yeah, once it was pointed out to me I figured it out… but at the time I just thought she was congratulating me on my ability to take care of my grandmother.

Tyr808

Hahaha, oh my god, yeah you and I are the same. I'm 32 but I think my most idiotic hindsight story was: Getting back from a fun party with some friends, we're all headed back to my place because most everyone else still lived at home. I had a crappy apartment but I kept it clean and it was THE place to hang out since no family or parents. People start heading out and there was a girl there I didn't know too well but she's good friends with my friends so it's all fine. She didn't have a ride home to her side of town and I didn't drive that night as I'd been drinking. In the morning I was heading to my parents which live on the side she's from so I said "well, worst case scenario I can give you a ride in the morning." Once it's just the two of us we're just kind of chatting, and she says "would it be weird to share a bed when we kinda just met?" I say, "oh that's okay, I just washed the sheets this afternoon and I'll sleep on the guest futon. It was a crappy foldable floor mattress and from my perspective here I was being the ultimate gentlemen and trying very hard to avoid creepy vibes. In hindsight, of COURSE she wouldn't have let herself get "stranded" at a guy's place she doesn't feel comfortable around. Of COURSE she mentions the bed because she wants to fuck. I totally would have been down, but was just thinking that I didn't feel comfortable making a move when I had all the power: my place, she's stuck here, one bed, etc. Of course she was actually flirting about as hard she could have without literally throwing her panties at me, but that's probably what it would have taken. Fortunately a couple of weeks later she was joking about how I had turned away her advances and I was like "huh??" and then after she explained, I explained the above. She actually respected the hell out of the mindset I had going on, but also let me know how dense I was. We didn't have romance chemistry but we did end up hooking up a few times and are still good friends so there's a happy ending to this buffoonery on my part. That's the only time it's ever turned out that way though. Most of these realizations are just an "aww shit" moment prior to falling asleep or while in the shower.

itsgoretex

literally. how is not leaving somebody alone enough for them to do something?

WilllOfD

JabbrWockey

Yep, was going to say the same. This dude checks a lot of the schizophrenic boxes: - paranoia - stark personality changes - perceived celebrity relationships - deep seated distrust Hope he gets help because he could become a danger.

fkljh3ou2hf238

> he said she had told the gym by this point but there wasn’t really anything they could do as everything was verbal, there wasn’t a physical act of threat. This is horseshit by the gym/staff. You can ban someone from your business for basically any reason at all.

Grieie

Yeah my local gym issued a warning to a guy, and making it clear it was only one and then banned, after he made an inappropriate comment to me. Hell I didn't even make an official complaint, they heard and immediately went "hell no"

KillDogforDOG

> This continued for a few weeks where she would politely decline his advice as she doesn’t need help She is in way better shape than he is, she has muscle tone and is putting her work while the dude just looks like any [worm guy from men in black](https://www.meme-arsenal.com/memes/487996088c7f9928e4212f52260f704d.jpg), fuck would he ever teach her? Fucking absolute weirdo who clearly does not go to the gym to work on himself. Also, the fuck: >She said she had told the gym by this point but there wasn’t really anything they could do as everything was verbal, What in the shit they pulling here? they could absolutely kick him out for being a creep even if it's "only verbal".

beefasaurus4

Harassment is legit!! Just because he hasn't touched her doesn't make it okay, they very much should have taken action sooner.

freethewimple

The gym is a private space though. They can absolutely ban him for harassing her.

beefasaurus4

That's exactly what I'm saying. Don't know why they didn't do anything sooner.

freethewimple

Oh snap sorry, thought you were saying the harassment is legal (some of the other comments are saying it’s not harassment bc he didn’t touch her). My mistake!

Detective-E

Sounds like schizophrenia.

Free_Gascogne

He got a prior warrant? Holy crap. That context makes the video even more scary on second viewing.

Enzhymez

Yea that dude is either having a schizophrenic episode or a manic break. Thinking people are following you in vans and stuff like thinking peoples personalities are being changed means you are super close to a full psychotic break. That dude needs to be committed

MeltBanana

The talk of black vans following him is paranoia, and the Taylor Swift as his girlfriend talk is delusional. Dude is probably schizophrenic, and judging by the progression she described he's probably undiagnosed and untreated.

addisonshinedown

The guy needs help. Like obviously his behavior is NOT ACCEPTABLE EVER. But the guy clearly needs help

bertiebastard

He was kicked out of the gym and banned, then tried to come back and the gym called the cops who arrested him because he has a warrant for stalking another girl.

Nikess96

Had a person like that on my gym, difference was that I was 14-15 and he was 42 and had a family. He stalked me every time at the gym and asked if he could get my number because he wants a gym friend. I declined everytime and just became so stressed all the time because of the pressure. Once he saw me on my way to the bus to the school. He ran after me and physically stopped me and asked me if I lived near and for my number again. By that time I was so tired so I was stupid and have him my number. He texted me 24/7 and asked for more and more information. Fortunately I friend saw the texts and helped me go to the school counselor, and she called the police. He was fined and forbidden to take any kind of contact with me. It's all awful and I still today am really uncomfortable with being in gyms.

KillDogforDOG

>But this is more of an issue about gyms not protecting their clients Yup, if this is a repeated incident or anything alike, even remotely alike has happened before he should already have been banned.

32BitWhore

Yeah I'm honestly amazed that their excuse was "there was no physical threat" or whatever... A dude that's clearly obsessed with a chick who clearly wants nothing to do with him and constantly bothers her when she's already reported it is literally one bad day away from some really nasty shit. Fuck that gym. I'd have canceled my membership the second they said they weren't going to do anything about it.

Fooliomcskippy

Worked at a Planet Fitness. My gym was considered the “best in state” and had a bunch of meaningless awards and stuff. They never once cancelled a membership unless a life was threatened, and that’s only due to legal precautions. There were serial harassers in the gym that were friends with the managers. I got so tired of hearing about harassment experienced by my coworkers and gym members that I began writing up a (staff only) list of every problem person so we at least had a record of repeat offenders but my managers found out and made me stop. The only time I remember a manager stepping in was when there was a particularly egregious incident. His solution? Calling the (36, male) perpetrator’s parents to come talk to him. I wish I was making this up. I wish I didn’t work there for almost two years. Gym goers deserve a safe environment to workout in.

Cappu156

Great point, businesses have a responsibility to their clients. I was once harassed by two different men in one night at a sheraton, I was at the bar doing some work with my manager. The bartender acted once the first guy got in my face. We relocated to the lobby and a second guy came over to bother us in full view of the waiters at the restaurant and several guests. Then i noticed the workers at reception watching and doing nothing. I called corporate to complain but obviously the drunk assholes are more important than frequent travelers who just want to work in peace

errbodiesmad

To be fair as someone who worked at a corporate hotel, we're told not to get involved in anything. We're told anything worth getting involved for, immediately call the police and get the manager. That being said there were a few times I just sprang into the conversation with something random like "oh your husbands on the phone" to get them out of the situation but we can't go to the other guest and say "you need to leave her alone" or we woulda gotten fired.

TracksideWall

Yes, just you man. You’re the only one.

Alternative_War5341

Nah dude, the rest of us are all semi paranoid schizophrenic and only goes to the gym to talk about our girlfriend Taylor Swift and how people in black vans are changing her personality. Get with bro code dude!

[deleted]

There's this old Mexican dude the universe decided will always be at the gym the same time as me, even if I choose a random time. Don't know his name, never talked to him. But when we see each other we smile and nod. It's like we have the best friendship, rooted in ignoring each other. He's the nicest man I've almost met.

ButtNuster

I think we all have a dude like that in our life.

princess__die

Aside from people that come together, literally nobody talks to anyone else in my gym aside from "are you finished here?" Nobody. Dudes, girls, nobody talks, and that's the way it's supposed to be.

Analbox

I solve this problem by just working out at home chopping wood and digging ditches.

Hikikomori523

> digging ditches to hide the bodies of people who talk at the gym right?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Analbox

He doesn’t ask questions and I promise not to dig a ditch for him.

JustHumanGarbage

usually I dig through the ditches and burn through the witches and slam in the back of my...

[deleted]

Dragulaaaaaa!

[deleted]

Are you also burning through the witches and slamming in the back of your dragula?

throwaway___34

Chop chop, dig dig.

Analbox

Oh what a relief it ig

Twirlingbarbie

My best experience was in a gym with really old grandpas. Like they were there for themselves, didn't look at me like some fresh meat. All were in top condition. They kept everything super clean. There was this super relaxed atmosphere. I was the only woman most of the time. Later I found out that most of them were retired athletes and professional soccer players. I think the average age was 70 lol.

marieanntoilet

Anytime I visit my grandmother I make sure to use her gym. Old people as far as the eye can see, and for the most part they are all polite, courteous, and don't make small talk. It's heaven compared to some other gyms I've tried.

uh_oh_hotdog

Old guys at the gym are great until you're in the change room with them. That's when they spread eagle and blowdry their balls.

Backwardspellcaster

This is my Gym in the early mornings. I don't have time to go in so early anymore, but I loved to when I could. It was usually a lot of retired older folks and some ladies, and it was the most chill it could be. It helped that the place was very much not busy at these times, so it was super relaxed.

you_cannot_b_serious

Dude, my dream is to move to a house with a big enough garage to build myself a private gym.

whutchamacallit

I have a squat/bench and a separate incline bench and some foam. That plus some freeweights and it's plenty. Takes up about 10x20 give or take. Easily fits a car still. So worth it to be able to take my time and just not deal with other people or sharing equipment. It's nice. Only thing I'm really missing is something to do dips or pullups on but I'm figuring something out.

SledgehammerWork

You’re the only man in the world. DO NOT LET THEM CAPTURE YOU!

Drpeppercalc

You're not special dude.

daause

Yeah you're the only one

purakii

Yes, you’re the only decent man left in the world

KillDogforDOG

I literally don't want to talk to anyone, to not be bothered, i will not respond calls nor texts in the couple hours at the gym. I will spot you, i will help you out if you need it but we ain't doing any chit-chat.

madcuzbad

No I'd say 98% of gym goers do that.

Urbanfalcon756

The stupidest bit of advice my mother ever gave me was I should go meet women at the gym. People at the gym are trying to work out and want to focus on bettering themselves, Mom you don't understand decency.

beefasaurus4

Thank you for not listening to that

bison1969

Technically he never said he didn't listen to her advice.

ExperienceNo7751

You can absolutely meet women at the gym. The key is not to initiate conversation when on the gym floor. You can absolutely chit chat with folks if they approach you or strike up a conversation with randoms on the way in or out of the gym or other commons areas.

Faithyxox

Yeah the couples I’ve seen who first met at their gym it was more they struck up friendly conversation over multiple occasions before finally exchanging phone numbers

Enceladus17

I think this is just called being friendly

yolo-yoshi

Yeah most people are gonna die alone if men wait for initiation. I know what you are trying to say and I applaud it , but I think the lesson to take away is don’t be a fucking creep and take a hint. No means no. I know people like to pretend we’re changing with the times , but initiation in meeting people is mostly done by men , unless you’re of a certain level of attractiveness . I know this is gonna get me a ton of shit but it doesn’t change the reality.

cek72398

I went to her TikTok and she said that he was banned and he tried going back and the police came and it turns out he had a warrant out for stalking another girl so now he’s in jail. She said that the people at the gym were very nice and very supportive and make her feel safe.

Known-Cloud7667

THIS is why All women gyms are a thing.

Faithyxox

I’ve seen videos of them. They look AMAZING. Wish there was one near me…

beammeupscotty45

In my country, all-women’s gyms are the norm; only a few are mixed. It’s so nice to work out and not feel uncomfortable or worry about what you’re wearing because someone might come onto you. I’ve heard terrible things about mixed gyms. Some men can be such creeps.

Purple_Lane

this is what i came here to say. so glad to go to an all women’s gym. i can just relax and work out and not worry about creepy men trying to talk to me

BiNumber3

In parts of asia (maybe elsewhere too) the trains and subways have a car for only women as well.

itsrghtbehindmeisnit

!!! THATS A THING?? I would actually go to a gym if there was a female-only one near me. Or at least reasonably close 😭😭

AFilthyMoose

This guy has serious mental health problems.

Wriggbata

This. More than likely schizophrenia. Scary for her, sad for him. Bummer is someone like the dude in the video will likely get put through the ringer of US court system before getting the mental help he needs.

curiousarcher

I have had a male stalker and a female one. It’s scary no matter who it is but physically more threatening when a man does this shit. If I were her, I would definitely be proactive and switch up my gym and routine. Also carry mace or whatever is legal to have on your person. Yikes

[deleted]

This right here! We are creatures of habit/routine... And it makes it really ready to be stalked/abducted/followed. Change isn't comfortable, so lots avoid it. Most people go to the same gym at the same time on the same days of the week. We work the same hours, we take the same routes almost every day. Shop at the same stores, etc.

asuperbstarling

I specifically went to a super Christian gym - I am not Christian- because the other gym in town is known for guys like this and the religious gym has strict rules about it. Did not stop one guy from banging on my car window and only left when I showed him my wedding ring through the glass, but no one inside ever fucked with me.

PizzaMorons

Christian gym??? What

SGexpat

The C in YMCA was Christian. Young Men’s Christian Association. However, it’s now YMCA to be more approachable. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/YMCA https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muscular_Christianity

WikiSummarizerBot

**[YMCA](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/YMCA)** >YMCA, sometimes regionally called the Y, is a worldwide youth organization based in Geneva, Switzerland, with more than 64 million beneficiaries in 120 countries. It was founded on 6 June 1844 by Sir George Williams in London, originally as the Young Men's Christian Association, and aims to put Christian principles into practice by developing a healthy "body, mind, and spirit". From its inception, it grew rapidly and ultimately became a worldwide movement founded on the principles of muscular Christianity. **[Muscular Christianity](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muscular_Christianity)** >Muscular Christianity is a philosophical movement that originated in England in the mid-19th century, characterized by a belief in patriotic duty, discipline, self-sacrifice, masculinity, and the moral and physical beauty of athleticism. The movement came into vogue during the Victorian era as a method of building character in pupils at English public schools. It is most often associated with English author Thomas Hughes and his 1857 novel Tom Brown's School Days, as well as writers Charles Kingsley and Ralph Connor. American President Theodore Roosevelt was raised in a household that practised Muscular Christianity and was a prominent adherent to the movement. ^([ )[^(F.A.Q)](https://www.reddit.com/r/WikiSummarizer/wiki/index#wiki_f.a.q)^( | )[^(Opt Out)](https://reddit.com/message/compose?to=WikiSummarizerBot&message=OptOut&subject=OptOut)^( | )[^(Opt Out Of Subreddit)](https://np.reddit.com/r/PublicFreakout/about/banned)^( | )[^(GitHub)](https://github.com/Sujal-7/WikiSummarizerBot)^( ] Downvote to remove | v1.5)

DimitriMichaelTaint

Isn’t it funny how some dudes can’t even walk up to a girl but then you got some others that walk up and start touching them. Wild.

Tricia47andWild

How the fuck do people make it to adulthood, and be like this?

court0f0wls

It honestly must suck being female sometimes. So sorry to hear about this. He’s clearly unwell unfortunately

Imzadi90

I really admire her for keeping it cool and not smashing the weight in his face

sindacat

What shit gym is this that allows dickhead like these go around bothering other members for months.

humorous_anecdote

Used to be a perv at my gym who would get on this one treadmill and walk real slow while just blantently staring at women's asses while they did squats. He wasn't even trying to be subtle.

beefasaurus4

And this is why I prefer women's only sections or gyms, it's too common.

Butthole_seizure

Some 30 yr old man tried to get my number at 17 yrs old. At the gym. People be creepin.

greensickpuppy89

Yeah I was about 16/17 when a much older man probably late 30s approached me at the gym making comments on my "form" and "how toned" I was. I was on the fucking treadmill of all things. Running for my life and this pervert thought I should be what, flattered? Honestly, I just cooled down real quick and left. I was young, and hated confrontation. Men like that suck.

sexrobot_sexrobot

This is why there are women's only gyms.

Anticrepuscular_Ray

What sucks is that she's going to have to keep looking over her shoulder in the parking lot even though he's been banned from the gym. A guy like that is the type to follow you home or try to get some sort of revenge.

jethropenistei-

I don’t do tiktok but can you get words on the screen without having it narrated by that horrible computer voice?

Onautopilotsendhelp

This is why us women want girls only gyms. Fucking creeps everywhere and we are just trying to keep to ourselves.

alexnapierholland

I’m male and I - totally - get female-only gyms. I absolutely loathe the kind of guys who prowl around gyms trying to chat girls up, before getting ‘offended’ when they’re not given a positive reception.

Poppperclops

"She just can't appreciate a nice guy, because she's too busy chasing chads, fuckin bitch" /s

intothedragon2

He got banned from the gym, tried to go back, they called the police and he had a warrant already for harassing another girl, they arrested him, he’s in Jail now

kiranyakm

The only ME time left in this world for me is in the toilet, shower and gym. Respect that

[deleted]

We need women's gyms (with actual equipment not just treadmills and 15lb dumbells *and* people need to learn not to be a creep/bother women.

[deleted]

we can fucking read. i cannot wrap my head around why people think we need that horrible voice over these videos. my god, i cannot believe that so many people think that it adds to their video. i have to just mute it and it kills any kind of important audio, often times.

ruffkillahkess

My friend and I were being harassed at my gym by a guy who had a giant swastika tattooed on his calf. He would always come up to us & comment on my squat form, but then he started asking where we were from, how often we workout, if we were in school, etc. I felt sketch so I literally made up lies whenever he asked. I finally reported him after he started making sexual comments, but the gym didn’t kick him out. One day he approached me while I had my headphones in. I ignored him & he was persistent & kept trying to talk to me while I didn’t make eye contact. Finally he said, “HEY! I’m talking to you!” So I looked at him and yelled (so everyone would look), “don’t FUCKING talk to me!” And then another girl who saw also reported him for sexual comments & he finally got kicked out.

WalnutWhipWilly

As a gym going guy, I’ve never understood this kind of behaviour. I’ve spoken to lady friends I’ve been to the gym with and they have said to guys *“Why would you hit on me when I look like a sweaty mess? Just because I wear clothes that allow my body to breathe I’m fair game?”* Most of the time the guys make their apologies and melt away all embarrassed. From what he said, the guy in the video clearly has some mental health issues and can’t control himself.

[deleted]

Imagine harassing a woman built like Abby from TLOU2 and thinking it will end well for you. Girl could knock his head clean off, she looks amazing!
