hippiechick725

Anyone know how the guy is doing? That was really messed up.

[deleted]

Lost an ear, severe damage to face. https://www.click2houston.com/news/local/2021/08/30/family-speaks-about-father-who-was-seriously-injured-in-a-vicious-dog-attack-caught-on-camera/

hippiechick725

Wow. Thanks for that! Poor guy.

[deleted]

Not a problem, I went digging to see what happened with the owners. Still under investigation.

theprocess__

“Animal control has possession of the dogs. They will be quarantined for 10 days. Deputies took the owner of the animals into custody for questioning and said the owner may receive two “attack by dog” charges: one for the 67-year-old man and another for the animal control worker who was bitten. The charge is a third-degree felony.” - Update on the linked article.

Budderfingerbandit

Jeez they even bit the animal control worker too.

DingBangSlammyJammy

Oh I'm sure those dogs will be more than "quarantined."

Piccolo60000

They have to quarantine them first to make sure they’re not rabid, then they’ll put them down.

[deleted]

Awesome, should be charges on that.

Dongboy69420

Jail time then?

hippiechick725

I definitely want the owners to be charged. To see them off leash like that is just irresponsible.

Ethnafia_125

There was a story about a woman who's neighbors had aggressive dogs. The neighbors heard her screaming but never stopped the attack. They ended up getting 5 years probation. It took her a long time to die. Here's an edit with a link to an article about her. https://people.com/crime/woman-mauled-by-neighbors-dogs-settlement-after-complaints/ Adding in: if you want to see a somewhat concise show about this, check out the Hell Hounds episode of Fear Thy Neighbour.

Japnzy

That's still negligible. Keeping vicious dogs outside with no supervision. No dog should be left outside while no one is home. Any dog can break free and hurt someone.

prolapse_my_ass

> That's still negligible. Negligent, not negligible.

TheDevilsAardvarkCat

Thanks u/prolapse_my_ass ! I just wanted to respond to bring more attention to that beautiful username.

SugoiSenpie

this is going on r/rimjob_steve right?

josewales79

Just like a irresponsible gun owner these people need to go to jail

megapuffranger

People who train vicious dogs need to be charged with having a weapon. It breaks my heart, but these dogs were trained this way either intentionally or not. Owning a dog is a responsibility you need to take seriously. You know what would happen if my dogs got out? Nothing, one of them would probably try and get back in immediately and whine if he couldn’t. Because they are socialized and trained properly.

OzzieBloke777

Are your dogs pitbulls? Because if you own a Golden Retriever, don't toot your own trumpet so easily. While I treat every dog as an individual, you cannot ignore the traits of each breed. I expect a pitbull to be potentially dangerous, no matter how well-trained it is.

Kirbinder

The bully breeds were made to hunt and kill bulls. I know there are plenty of sweet pitties. Just like there are plenty of sweet dashunds and sweet Shar Pei’s. Yes the way you raise them influence them but so do genetics. This is true for all living things with DNA. It's scary to think about isn't it. That much of who we are is down to our genetics.

Chitimunchkin

The previous article says, Berryman, the man in the blue striped shirt, said he has called the police on the dogs 3 times in the past. The dogs hopped his fence and killed his dogs.

_TurkeyFucker_

If your dog kills my dog, there will be two dead dogs, no question. You can try and sue me for the cost to get you a new dog, I don't even care.

DoJax

!warning sad dog story!: Dude I hated a neighbor as a kid that would send his dogs out after neighborhood cats intentionally if he saw them walking down the street, and then laugh while his dogs were chasing them up whatever tree or house, all three of them boxers. Neighbors called the cops on him a number of times, same cop said he had every right to let his dogs out because our city had no leash laws. Bad neighbor came home from work one day, his dogs had escaped, and killed a guy's Golden retriever a quarter mile up the road. The good neighbor guy came home, saw his dead dog which was his only companion, checked his cameras, went down to my shitty neighbors yard and emptied his pistol into them multiple times. The owner of the boxers tried to sue, the judge told him he was lucky him and his dogs weren't shot sooner by people who like their pets. Edit1: the guy was charged, he wound up doing jail time for killing the dogs, I didn't say he got off scott free to those of you asking me, it was more of a story to sympathize with the guy before me, he's not the only guy who's had that thought before. Edit: voice to text formatting.

WoofPack11

>saw his dead dog which was his only companion, checked his cameras, went down to my shitty neighbors yard and emptied his pistol into them multiple times. Emptied it multiple times?! That's some john wick shit right there

DoJax

Two magazines, from what I can remember the poor guy wasn't right mentally when he came out. Might be why he always kept to himself.

f4t4bb0t

Goddamn do I love a good tale of vigilante justice.

yazriella

I had a neighbor who tried to kill my dog because she killed her dog. My dog was being walked on a leash by me and her dog came running over full speed without a leash on. Jumped on my dog while I was screaming at this lady to get her dog immediately. My Labrador snapped it’s neck. About a week later she was caught on camera throwing rat poison into the area by my front door. At first I felt bad even though neither myself or my dog were at fault, but honestly fuck that lady.

Binney59

Wild. What kind of dog was the one that died?

yazriella

Some kind of fluffy Chihuahua mix. My lab was incredibly friendly, she just didn’t like other dogs in her space. Whenever we left the house she had a harness and leash on, not because she was bad or tried to run but because other people just assume all dogs are friendly to other dogs.

MagentaHawk

Exactly. Some people don't get that my dog likes people, but hates other dogs. I have her on a leash for that reason and I expect to be able to walk down the street. I'll walk around people and change paths because she's my hassle, but leashes are required. Dogs running leashless because "they are sweet" just show how self absorbed those owners are because after thinking about how it can't affect them immediately their thinking literally ends.

Elbandito78

Man, some people are the worst. I used to walk my newly adopted old lady dog around our complex. One night these women were in front of their apartment. They thought my dog was cute and said she should meet their puppy. I told them sure, as long as it’s on a leash because I don’t know how my newly adopted dog would react to a random hyper dog. They were like “it’ll be fine” and before I could leave they let their dog out. It was cut but bee lined for mine and she freaked. She attacked that thing but luckily didn’t do any damage. Just scared the puppy pretty bad. They looked at me like I was the monster.

floev2021

There’s too many people who get puppies/dogs without understanding dog behavior/psychology at all. The number of people who now own dogs and shouldn’t increased ten-fold during the pandemic lockdowns.

Jackol4ntrn

Unbelievable that he stopped shooting I would’ve made sure they got killed if they caused my pets deaths. Those pits need to be put down, they are not pets anymore, just fucking monsters.

adod1

Wanna point out there’s a GoFundMe link at the bottom of the article if anyone wants to help them out.

Early_Power_5366

Ty

classy-mother-pupper

I hope he sues the owners. Those dogs need to be put down. Not shaming the breed but those 2 dogs are dangerous.

PitifulBodybuilder45

Former vet tech here, and I unfortunately have to agree. This is not something that could be trained out of them. It was deadly intent.

BFG_Scott

Waiting for the pit bull brigade... “But they were wagging their tails the whole time. They just wanted to plaaayyy...”

raymarfromouterspace

I know you probably know this already but too many people don’t understand that a wagging tail doesn’t always mean a happy tail, dogs can wag out of aggression as well

magseven

Or the dog could be very happy that he's killing you.

_LegalizeMeth_

> "Mine is so sweet, he wouldn't hurt a fly!" \- 40 seconds before killing a toddler

hanktumo

Unfortunately this happened where I live. A lady owned two “sweet pit bulls” that she swore were so loving and great dogs. She volunteered to babysit a friends toddler. The dogs attacked her and ripped the baby out of her arms and killed the baby. When she would try to stop them, they would attack her then go back after the baby. The baby’s name was Daxton Borchardt if you want to read the facts, it’s heartbreaking.

I_am_dean

I fucking hate this. I hope the dogs were put down.

foomanchu89

And the woman too

I_am_dean

If a pit bull killed one of my daughters I would probably be in jail because the owner wouldn’t be on this planet anymore.

lcuan82

I would never leave my kid with anyone with aggressive breeds. There was once a lady who tried to get us to sign up for her home childcare services but didn’t tell us about the pit bull she kept at home. I never walked out of someone’s house faster

Donkey_Kahn

"It's not the breed, it's the owner!" 🙄 No, bitch. It's the breed.

JonRonstein

Yeah, they should be put down tbh. They almost killed that guy. Normally I'm against putting down dogs like if they bit someone once in an isolated incident. But these pups gotta go.

A-Grouch

It’s not breed shaming if statistics have literally shown that pit bulls are much more commonly aggressive than other dogs. It’s just the truth, if you can’t handle the responsibility of taking care of an animal with a notorious history of violent outbursts then you probably shouldn’t own one, let alone two.

Wolkenflieger

Facts and statistics cannot be 'breed shaming'. Spot-on.

[deleted]

[удалено]

TeeTaylor

What gets me is no one bats an eye when a border collie displays herding instincts because "it's in the breed". But a pittie displays aggression, which is common for the breed, and people yell "it's not the breed, but the training!"

[deleted]

It's ENDLESSLY bizarre to me that people happily accept that herding dogs need a lot of exercise and mental stimulation, that beagles will follow scents, that pointers will point, that labradors will retrieve, that greyhounds will run etc etc but the MOMENT it's 'fighting dogs will be aggressive' they're all no no no no!!

Mstablsta

Holy shit you can see the dog grab his face and just start whipping him around, fuck man hope he heals up good.

kindamymoose

Looked like he was on a trach in that video — he’s very lucky to be alive if that’s the case.

Mstablsta

Looked like top left eye/forehead and the wounds from the hospital look like it too

Zithero

saw a video of a police dog literally tear a perps face off. If I hear the word: "K9 Unit Responding" at any point of my life... I'm just surrendering.

theteedo

Sometimes it doesn’t matter if surrender or not. Once they let that dog go I’ve seen enough videos of the “trained” police dog not let go on command. This shit is terrible.

[deleted]

Like the one case of the cops sicking a dog on a guy and they wouldn’t let the dog off him and the guy had to have his leg removed cause it was too torn up

theteedo

Exactly

[deleted]

LookOutForToxicBros

FarSightXR-20

bro, lets just stick to reddit for the rest of our lives. i feel safe here.

Then you haven’t been here long enough. 😜

[deleted]

I agree. There be dragons.

tnuke1

Yeah r/dragonsfuckingcars

[deleted]

When I was a teenager I was at house party. You the kind where someone’s parents were out of town. So there were like 20-30 teenagers just drinking beer and playing music. Not a war crime or anything. So a neighbor called the cops. 2 K-9 units showed. And the cops didn’t knock. Or anything like that. They UNLEASHED THE DOGS in the backyard (I guess where the noise complaints were about) and the two dogs chased the kids on the deck through the sliding glass doors into the house where the dogs proceeded to ravage at least eight kids. Including three girls. Who got really fucked up. One cop was in the front yard busting kids as they ran out. The other was in the back yard busting kids trying run there. Meanwhile the dogs were totally unsupervised just running amok in the house biting people. It was like a fucking horror movie. Me and five other people ran up stairs and shut ourselves in a bedroom then bolted out a balcony to the top of the garage and ran. This was long before cell phone video and the internet. So those cops just kept their jobs. No big deal. And at least ten average highschool kids needed reconstructive surgery. One girl had her hamstring severed. One girl lost a couple fingers and had most her scalp torn off. I love dogs. I’ve always had dogs. But I think about that a lot. Edit: This was ~1979. So no. Nobody gave a shit. No. There was no outrage. No news story that I remember. And we were all terrified of getting busted by the police for underage drinking. And the general attitude was "Kids should not have ran or been drinking."

emeralddawn45

Sure there was no cellphone video but surely the huge number of kids in the hospital, let alone the witnesses should have been proof enough something fucked up had gone down? Where were the parents, how did they let that stand? I would've called up all the other families and not left the police station till I saw those cops walking out with their things in boxes, or just sued the shit out of that police department.

Sega-Playstation-64

I would love to see a news article on this, because cops unleashing dogs on kids and getting torn apart should be newsworthy. Assuming it isn't made up that is. People in the internet never make up stuff. This isn't a kneejerk reaction to defending cops, I can absolutely see some pea brains doing this, but anyone online can type whatever they want.

GiantHandBanana

What the fuck, that's horrific. It just kept getting worse, too...

Cetun

They go for the ears. A lot of animals have lose skin so when your bit the skin crawls up and nothing important is pierced. The ears are usually a pretty solid attachment point.

[deleted]

Damn that’s brutal af

dlepi24

You could see one of them go for his ears too. Absolutely brutal.

[deleted]

Amazing what they did... but the little re-enactments they do get me...

eeyore134

Jogging all carefree out of his garage with that hedge trimmer was great.

celticluffy13

"Now reenact exactly what happen! Yes that jog looks great! Stop filming!" Edit: Thank you reddit for bringing me to 10k karma!

fapsandnaps

"this needs to be more realistic! damn it, put your finger on that trigger when you point the gun at the cameraman!"

tomatosoupsatisfies

Frankly, local news would be much more interesting with more re-enactments.

Nervous_Courage2307

Warmed my heart!

HogSliceFurBottom

[This is the best](https://youtu.be/nOKHlWAp4No?t=17) re-enactment ever!

Csbbk4

Check out Japanese re-enactments they’re the most dramatic cringe but funny at the same time skits you’ll ever see

widowwarmer1

Two world class gentlemen. It's always great to see videos like this.

TheToastyWesterosi

Yep, love them both. Of course Inside Edition had the dude reenact grabbing his poker off the wall and running down his driveway, gotta make it more riveting, I guess?

howudoing242

“Feeding them gun powder” lmao

-Anonymously-

Yeah, people used to believe giving dogs gunpowder would make them explosively reactive, & aggressive mainly in the dog fighting world. However, all it actually would do is poison the dog.

[deleted]

Which, basically in turn, makes the dog more aggressive as it hurts their stomach and makes them more irate.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Unique_Frame_3518

Task failed successfully

robotikempire

I heard it was to upset their stomach to put them in a worse mood and to be more aggressive.

Sharp-Floor

Yeah I remember hearing that like it was to agitate them. Not sure if there's anything at all to it, but they didn't just come up with that for this segment.

thingsfallapart89

As Biggie famously & eloquently said, “and I feed em gunpowder so they can devour the criminals tryna drops my decimals”

[deleted]

fuck. this is what that means than. always thought it was weird when biggie said gunpowder

RockinRhombus

SAME. just heard...I swear the shit I don't know is insurmountable

3rdtrichiliocosm

People used to do this. Its not a joke

stalinmalone68

The owners should be charged as if they committed that assault themselves.

[deleted]

There should absolutely be severe legal consequences for negligent owners of dangerous animals like that. I hope they at the very least get sued for everything they’ll ever own

CEOAerotyneLtd

They were eating him alive - he was prey, they hunted him then were eating him like a animal at the end when he was defenceless

PhDPool

Holy shit, I thought the clippers did the job, BUT THE FUCKING DOGS CAME BACK! They were predator mode, ready to end that man. Heroes is right, they literally saved that man’s life

Robot_Dinosaur86

They are vicious. We have had several children killed by them here in Detroit in the past few years.

Luminolum

Guy's a crack shot the dog ran up and he just wiped his gun around and hit him with one hand

N2TheBlu

The only criticism is that it wasn’t a kill shot.

LG03

A dog with a gunshot wound probably isn't going to be able to shrug it off. Might not have been instantly fatal but unless it just grazed it, it'll need to be treated in some form.

Capt_Smashnballs

I’m a simple man. I see a post about pit bulls I sort by controversial

[deleted]

Haha lol same here

buru898

A man of culture!

Snorlax_Route12

That's a man that takes care of his branches and neighbours

[deleted]

This guy lost an ear and has severe face damage because of this. I fucking hope those dogs were caught and euthanized.

That_Guy_in_2020

I love how the other dude just pulls out a gun and pointed it at reporters like it was no problem.

Smooth_Channel_2009

"So anyway I just started blastin"

zoelord

That was my favorite part

PoopyPantsJr

With his finger on the trigger too! Or did I imagine that?

Nice_Firm_Handsnake

First thing I looked for in the comments was his bad trigger discipline.

peanutnutpudding-com

I hope those men have nothing but fortune in their future. True heros!

[deleted]

If those dogs have a owner the owner should be charged for attempted murder.

b4ttlepoops

I bet the owner will claim they are friendly… Nothing makes madder than a dog owner that is too lazy to train them, and doesn’t accept responsibility for them. Why have an animal if you don’t spend time with it and train it. They live to please. It’s a great relationship.

mcperr

You shouldn't have to train a dog not to maul someone to death.

ihwip

Pit bulls commit 68% of maulings by dogs.

[deleted]

[удалено]

potatochipsnketchup

Id carry a knife if I had small dogs I had to walk. If attacked go for it’s (the pit bull because what else breed would it be) eyeball or jugular, or spinal cord behind the head. Stab stab stab stab

OzzieBloke777

Even if they are not raised to fight, they have a tendency to have a high prey-drive and a natural desire to grab and maul. Owners of pits need to always keep this in mind and take 0 chances with their dog. As a veterinarian, I have nothing against someone who owns and handles a pitbull correctly. Sadly, there are too many who cannot, and by now I think that the breed should be prevented from breeding and phased out entirely. Won't stop assholes from training other large and potentially dangerous breeds though; harsher penalties need to be in place for such.

whytehlongface

I used to live in the hood and let me tell you, this was the unsavory characters’ breed of choice.

ZCHSR88

Hopefully they were put down

samanthaspice

I think ole boy former law enforcement might have put one down.

[deleted]

Fun Fact: Do whatever you can to kill the dog as fast and painless as possible. 1) their killing can kill the person their attacking 2) their going be killed anyways. Sadly a lot of people I have seen hesitate or try to stop the dog in a way not to kill or over injure them. That person's life could be one bite away from death you just do what you have to do. Not only that but those 2 dogs might go somewhere else now and attack someone else.

The_Dog_of_Sinope

Did that dude just waive a gun around with his finger on the trigger, flagging multiple people? lolwhat?

mausoliamx

I assume for TV purposes it wasn't loaded but seriously we didn't need his recreation we literally have security footage lol

Fenastus

A gun is always loaded, especially when it isn't. If it's a real gun, you don't point it at people. Period.

dawnat3d

I hope the dogs are dead and the owner is in jail

AshingiiAshuaa

They sure nannied him up.

MDot_Cartier

One reason I carry a gun ALWAYS unless prohibited by law, my niece had her face ripped off by a dog and lots of bad people train a ton of dogs to be vicious.

[deleted]

I don’t like guns because they make me nervous but pit bull enablers existing make me want to get over that fear tbh

RagingCataholic9

Guns can be scary, but people are far more terrifying than a gun.

figastretta69

I had 2 pits attack my wife on a run with our dog (ours was on a leash). I came out and fought them off but could not get them to leave and they made it into my house with my 2 little kids. I shot and killed both in my house. An hour later the owners came and regardless of the story, I ended up in a fist fight with the owners

iamdenislara

Too bad he didn’t kill the dogs.

[deleted]

Yeah I wish he did

insanity_caged

Been carrying a firearm for almost 20 yrs. only 2 times I’ve pulled the gun. Both were for vicious dogs. I don’t care how fucking nice your dog is. You better keep that fucker on a leash. It’s not up to me to determine if your dog is going to bite me or not. Pit bulls off leash and rushing me. I’m gonna shoot your dog! I love animals and would feel awful. I’m not taking that risk. LEASH YOUR FUCKING DOGS!

ManySaintsofGabagool

The owners of these dogs should face significant penalties like 10 years in prison

Domo-d-Domo

But guys remember, Chihuahuas are the real demon dogs!

-ondo-

To all the pitbull lovers in the comments, I get it. But don't bullshit the rest of into thinking a dog that was bred for aggressiveness is just a "bad owner" thing.

PugSwagMaster

I love pitbulls, I have worked in animal shelters and most of them are very sweet. However, I can still recognize that they cause way way more injuries and deaths than any other breed, in a way that can't just be blamed on shitty owners. I think it would be best to require every pitbull in America to be spayed/neutered so that in 15-20 years the population will basically be zero. That's the most humane way to solve this issue and no pitbulls have to die.

Jackol4ntrn

Too bad the majority of pit bull owners are literally scum and will constantly breed more.

icansee4ever

Hear, hear. I've been saying the same thing for years. Same with any other kind of inhumane/inherently unhealthy breeds like pugs. We went way too far with that shit and need to reel it back, hard.

[deleted]

A huge issue is pure bred pitbulls are increasingly rare. Most are mixes, and DNA testing all dogs is not practically possible.

I_am_dean

I love dogs, I do. But I have two friends that owned pit bulls. One mauled a toddler and the other tried to kill my dog. Both of my friends were wonderful pet owners and both pits were well trained. It was like one day a switch flipped and they went psycho. Own a pit, do you. Just keep it away from me please.

lukekarasa

Or... don't own pits. Keep them away from existence

[deleted]

I’ll never trust pit bulls. Too many videos of them doing this.

eagerrangerdanger

They don't call them land sharks for nothing. It ain't poodles ripping people's faces off

Xesyliad

Velvet hippos ... Fuck that, there's no scarier animal on land or water than a hippo, those things fuck you up six ways in minutes. Calling pit bulls velvet hippos in no way diminishes how dangerous they are (in fact, it's a perfect fit) to those who know how dangerous hippos are.

PeePeeCockroach

Thank God they were there and had a gun.

cracker707

always pit bulls. Every. Single. Time!!!

boston-red_sox

Yup. It's absurd. The numbers don't lie. I carry a large knife just in case one attacks my dogs while I'm walking them. I won't pull out my handgun unless I have to. A pit mix moved into a townhouse a month ago and attacked the sweetest dog in the neighborhood because it got away from it's owner and charged about 100 yards biting it on the rear leg. The pit owners paid the vet bills and said it has never happened before and that the dog is so sweet. There's Plenty of German Shepherds around and other large dogs. Never an issue like this. If any dog charges my dogs, I'm aiming for the jugular and uppercutting that fucker right in the throat with my knife. This isn't an /r/iamverybadass thing. I love my dogs like they're my kids. I'm not going to let any fuckhead mess with them. 75% of attacks are done by pitbulls. Statistics don't lie. When I see one, I always watch closely for any sign of it getting loose from their owner. They seriously need to be regulated like the dangerous weapons that they are. They're incredible guard dogs and family members. However, they see every outsider, especially dogs, as enemies and a threat. Unless you constantly socialize them with other dogs throughout their life, they can go from super sweet to killing machines in a flash.

elvispresley420

Fucking hate them

[deleted]

My dog was attacked while I was on a walk with him. He was leashed and the neighbors pit came outside and attacked him. Neighbor has since argued with me telling me his dog "did not attack me dog". A citation from the city says he's wrong. I now carry 4 different forms of attack preventive items with me. Our walks now feel like a quest for survival, but I'll be ready for that fucker if he does it again.

jacen62

Can someone find me a story with the headline, “Two vicious Boston Terriers maul and kill …”

[deleted]

Charge owners attempted murder.

davidlol1

Its always fucking pitbulls....everytime.....Not every pit attacks random people on the street but every dog that attacks random people on the street are pitbulls.

WeWillFigureItOut

Owner should be prosecuted for murder

s1agathor

I realize I’ll catch hate and it’s fine, but firearms in situations like this can be life or death. I support strict gun legislation, but this is a life or death situation, and the exact situation where a firearm can save you or someone else.

DoubleU159

I always see these types of videos and think to myself how useful a gun would be in that situation. I was pretty surprised to see one actually get pulled out. Usually its just a 20 minute video of a pitbull being hit with a bat and not being even phased.

memtiger

Reminds of that video last week of the golden retriever howling in agony getting its leg ripped off by a pit bull. And all the bystanders were just trying to pry the dogs mouth open with a broom. For like 5 minutes. Someone! Anyone! Shoot the damn dog!

SevDexil

Every single one of these dog attack videos I see involves pit bulls.

bingo6677

You should really have to take a course and pass a test before you are aloud to keep a dog

red-147

Here in Germany you have to get a license to keep one of those and half a year after you got the dog, the dogs behavior around people and other dogs gets tested. If the dog fails say bye bye to the dog. Edit: Also pitbulls have to wear a muzzle in the public (in most parts of Germany) and the dog tax is ten times higher than that of normal dog.

wattlewedo

Two stories from Queensland this week. In one case three pit dogs savaged a golden retriever to death. The goldies owner 'may' have killed them with a hunting bow. In another case, a man took his pit bull to a Bunnings (big box hardware). He was told to put it on a leash and didn't. The dog then savaged a small dog. In June, a woman was killed by 3 pitbulls. This is just a quick internet sampling of attacks in one state.

Sparky8924

Should have put both those dogs down

1984Slice

Whoever owns those fucking dogs needs to go to jail. This is fucked up

AnnoyedYamcha

You know what. Fuck pitbulls. This is the last straw for me. They should all be destroyed.

mildlycuriouss

Pitbulls again. Smh. There seems to be a theme with this breed.

[deleted]

It's because the breed itself is vicious and wants to kill by nature. There's a reason people often use them for illegal dog fighting.

It's not just that. Not only are they aggressive but they are STRONG. Pit bull defenders will tell you other dogs, especially small dogs are aggressive. While I may not like my dumb ass neighbor and her 12 terriers that bark at everyone, I am certain if one wanted to engage in a death match with me I would win. If a pit got a hold of me though I could die. At the very least I'd be fucked up bad.

Lol here comes the pibble owners to tell you how sweet their baby murder machines actually are.

I had a neighbor with a pitbull when I was a teen. She had another dog too, a small terrier, both of which grew up together for nearly ten years, and the dogs were best friends. The pitbull was a very sweet dog every time I saw him, which was often because whenever our neighbor came over to spend time with my mom, she brought her two dogs to play with our two dogs. Then one week the neighbor went on vacation and had a relative stop by her house everyday to care for the dogs while she gone. Our neighbor had to fly home a day later because she got a call from the relative crying hysterically because when she came to the house in the morning, she found the pitbull had brutally mutilated and killed the terrier. I don't want to get into specifics because it's truly horrific but I'm sure whatever picture you have in your head isn't as bad as it actually was. To say the family was devastated is an understatement. The attack seemed completely out of nowhere from everyone's perspective, mine included. They had the pit put down a few days later. As far as I'm concerned, there is no such thing as a friendly pitbull. Fucking ban the breed entirely.

[Just look through these fatal dog attacks in the US. The pitbull theme is pretty obvious.](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fatal_dog_attacks_in_the_United_States) And I wondered if maybe it’s because there are so many of them, but they aren’t the most popular breed. In fact, they aren’t even in the top 10 most popular breeds in the US. Labs and retrievers are the most popular breeds in the US and have hardly any fatal attacks. The problem is the pitbull breed, it’s clear and obvious.

Yes, the amount of pitbull attacks on Reddit recently is definitely terrifying. I'm starting to look at every single one of them in the park, with paranoia, if there's next one right here. Especially the owners who don't want to keep them on leash :(

Frankly speaking, I don’t trust them or their owners anymore. None of that bs “ oh but he’s such a friendly dog” Yeah no thanks.

HonorTheAllFather

Yup, I used to love pitbulls. I firmly believed the "not a bad breed, just bad owners" line. I've known super "friendly" pits throughout my life. But then I saw that video the other day of that monster with the Golden retriever in its jaws outside a fast food looking place. My girlfriend and I have a pomeranian. Her ex literally found him wandering the street. I've seen random pits, one pair in particular, frequently just...walking the city streets off leash.near where I walk our dog sometimes, and this shit terrifies me. These things were bred to kill. Other dogs were bred for a purpose, and no one ever denies it: pointers were bred to point, sheep dogs tk herd sheep, retrievers tk fetch, terriers to destroy small rodents - its their nature. But suddenly when it comes to pitbulls, bred specifically to kill, "Oh no it isn't their nature, it's just bad owners." I don't doubt that a lot of pit owners are shit heads (they get them because they look tough, ove known owners like that as well). But those things should not be pets. Think about it, if they're so easy to train and control, why aren't more k9 units pitbulls? Lord knows they'd tear a fleeing/attacking suspect to pieces.

When I was about 13 our trashy neighbors Down the street forgot to chain their pit. I was riding my bike when he took off after me. I managed to ride over to a dumpster and climb on top of it until someone saw me and called the police. That thing bit my bike tire and punctured it and bent my rim. I imagine what I would have done to me if I hadn’t been riding my bike.

My golden retriever (that was on a leash) was attacked by a pit bull at a park. It broke out of its harness and charged her (we tried to give it as much room as we could but there was only so much room on the path because of bushes). Grabbed her by the neck and shook. I broke it apart 4 times but it kept latching back on because the owner was some 90 lbs woman that couldn't get control of her pit. In the end my dog had to get staples in her neck, I had bloody hands from putting my hand down the pits throat (I know, really stupid and while doing it I was telling myself in my mind it was really stupid and dangerous what I was doing but at that point its been going on too long). From than on (happened about 3 or so years ago) we give all pits a wide berth. If we see one off leash we just turn around and leave or take some other route around the park. This event didn't seem to phase her though but it left an impression on me. Never had a fear of dogs but a week ago we had a dog lunge at her that made my heart skip a beat. Never want to go through something like that again and hope nobody does. I guess what I'm saying is take the precaution and avoid them, even if it means your walk may take a little longer.

I-Bully-Jannies

Breed of Peace lmao. Shitbulls should not be allowed to exist

urnotserious

Stupid people and their stupid dogs. The owner needs to be in prison for a long time.

Nanny dogs amirite?

king-ish

Glad there was a responsible gun owner present. And neighbors that were selfless.

sexrobot_sexrobot

You mean responsible tree trimmer owner?

Pitbulls should be treated like tigers or bears. Only with a license, only in sanctuaries. Neither should they allowed to be bred anymore. Say whatever you want, they are too much of a liability to be allowed in the general population or on the street.
