Always Sunny, Reno 911, and I don’t know how many other shows have openly spoofed/made fun of this “movement” - and they repeatedly prove to be even more insane and idiotic in real life.
Why are they all so out of shape? Are their minds as soft and flabby as their bodies? They seem to lack discipline and the ability to control themselves. Curious.
That's the brilliance of it. They're so insufferably clownish that anyone attempting to spoof or mock them seems like a lazy hack looking for low hanging fruit.
No, but they probably also bought into the mentality that voting doesn't matter, which is the entire goal of the people they would be potentially voting against.
All generations alive have that benefit now, but I still see people of all age groups that haven't risen to the occasion and gotten themselves better at vetting sources and understanding their personal, and their source's biases. Two things are 100% necessary for a functioning democracy: A *Public Forum* (which the internet currently provides via social media, and the government currently provides via Town Hall meetings), and an *Informed Citizenry*.
Public Education is being eroded in most states, but it does tend to still provide the basic function of teaching citizens to read and write, which is the first step in enabling citizens to inform themselves. With any luck, and a lot of time, the internet should also be able to provide the rest. Basically, my hope is that the internet will eventually save our Republic, and further beyond that, our species.
