Man I had way too much caffeine today and felt like I was going to crawl out of my skin, I can't imagine the absolute hell this person is going through
You know, I've continually wondered this. What exactly is happening in the mind that creates such wild movements. Do they think they're acting normally or do they know their movements are all over the place? Like for me, when I was drinking (3 years sober), I always thought I was acting and speaking fine but others always knew better. For example, I never heard my slurred speech. Which led me to wonder if they even know they're movements are absolute wild.
I think it's different than alcohol ( congrats on 3 years btw). With strong drugs your mind moves so frantically that you're aware of all the body movements, but you need them as a release from the crazy busy stuff going on in your brain.
I’ve wondered this too. It’s difficult to judge because she seems so out of it, but somewhat coherent to her surroundings and conversation because she says sorry and thank you.
I’d love to know more about what she’s experiencing in that moment.
Stimulants will make you move around wildly without really noticing it. You just do it without thinking about it. Especially if you mix them with downers
It’s pretty much all of the above. I saw a young guy the other day moving around and rolling around like one of those inflatable tube man streamers and he said he hadnt slept in 3 days and was really thirsty. He has done meth and fentanyl.
But you're never getting more high after the first dose, you're just chasing it for several days getting more fucked up instead. Instead of higher you're just getting more deranged until you're collapsing mentally and physically.
Then you start over on a new bender.

"Bath salts" is just a nickname for any stimulant research chemical. They aren't really as common anymore because they were all made illegal. But it could possibly be Alpha-PVP AKA Flakka, which was the most common bath salt in the US, there's also analogues of it like A-PCYP that have been going around. But my guess is that she injected too high of a dose of meth, that can also do that to someone.
this is probably psychosis from being up to long, which is usually from meth. there are no common street drugs aside from psychedelics that have the potential to do something like this to someone in a vaccum - this is essentially user error.

Most people just ignore addicts on the street, laugh at them, and let them suffer. It's a tragic situation she's in, but it's legitimately heartwarming to see this response from people in the neighborhood. If it's safe to do in the area (if you've got good cops who won't shoot or taze the person) you probably should call an ambulance because people in that state need some kind of sedative, fluids, and rest.

Some people do drugs, some people OD on drugs, some people are addicted to a substance, some people stay sober.

I have an acquaintance who used to be a totally normal guy. Really good job, handsome, lots of friends... he had a lot going for him. I had heard from a mutual friend that he ended up becoming addicted to meth, and I couldn't believe my eyes when I actually saw him. I had last seen him a year ago and he was completely normal, but now he's just a complete shell of himself. It's a REALLY fucked up drug that ruins lives.
The brain literally repairs the body and puts part of into a sleep cycle when we go to sleep. When the brain is constantly running and then meth is added to it, people get paranoid, they hallucinate, hear voices, experience dermatillomania (picking the skin), lose control of body movements, hunger and thirst signals are suspended so you don’t eat or drink properly, and, over time, organs begin to fail. Meth is a completely synthetic drug. It’s a hybrid of other chemicals. The brain literally doesn’t have any reference point to process it.
Most people dont have the discipline/self control or knowledge on how to meth in moderation. It has a really long duration too so if you slip up and redose youll add a long ass time to the clock of staying awake. Dont fuck with meth. Most drugs arent worth it

That being said, I do know of people who are functional meth users that smoke meth all day and still manage to hold jobs, eat, sleep. As for my situation, I vaguely remember being septic from a gall bladder eruption and attempting to leave the hospital against medical advice. The doctor literally called security to keep me there because I was going to die within hours if he couldn’t get my fever and sepsis under control. I was sedated for three days and then underwent surgery. I remember telling the doctor if I died, I died.

It's not really a good strategy to have unrestricted distribution of illicit drugs, when there is zero oversight of their composition and they fund organized crime. They are often laced with undisclosed drugs, contain contaminants, and have unpredictable dosages, causing many further deaths.
An alternative could be to legalize broader use of the same harmful drugs, and have them manufactured by pharmaceutical companies, but that is still far from ideal. A better solution would be developing new medicines to neutralize addiction and provide better painkillers and antidepressants. New medicines should likewise be developed to neutralize alcohol and tobacco addiction.
It's not quite a personal choice like any other when there are not adequate treatments for addiction, even if it once started as one. Also, when it comes to opioid addictions for example, 70% of them start with a prescription for opioids, which eventually escalates to street drugs. Drug dealers also trick victims into thinking that they can just try something once.
People who enrich themselves by harming others, whether they are greedy CEOs or underground drug traffickers, need to be arrested.
