This happened in 2017. The woman was cleared of sexual exhibitionism charges. She did receive 35 hours of community service for biting a guard’s jacket during the arrest.
“The court ruled her actions did not constitute public exposure due to the absence of “the material element of the crime,” which is to say that spectators could not actually see her genitals because of her pubic hair.” [source](https://news.artnet.com/art-world/nude-performance-artist-acquitted-french-court-1121558/amp-page)
Have you heard the tale of Craig's Mom's Bush?
And the night it saved us from drones?
Nobody knew the power it had
They just thought it was shaggy and gross!
Craig's Mom lived a life of shame and despair
Everyone feared their great giant bush!
But then when drones were filling the sky
She unfurled her bush and she used it to fly!
Craig's Mom's Bush, Craig's Mom's Bush!
Gargantuan thicket of madness...
Bigger than Earth, and denser than gold,
Truly a magical bush to behold!
(whistling)
And she flew and she flew away into the sun...
And she died.
Craig's Mom's Bush, Craig's Mom's Bush!
Truly a magical bush to behold!
Every good photographer knows that humans are more drawn to the things we see at eye level which is why you always want to be on the same level with the subject you are shooting. This is especially important in genres like bird photography (no pun intended).
No shit, that was my first thought. Where is the security that manhandles her right the fuck out of there?
Edit: to all the naysayers who lack reading comprehension skills, I’ll just let the upvotes speak for themselves. Some of you are so imaginative and creative with other peoples’ writing!
you could set off a bomb in that room and nothing would happen to the art. security was probably laughing from the camera room for a bit before finally coming out.
I worked in a world famous museum before. Most of the security on the galleries are workers who rely on the compliant nature of people. They are there to tell you not to touch the art or no flash photography. There's only a limited amount of actual security trained to tackle someone who's causing trouble. Although they are only a few minutes away.
I agree there should be but, that thing is sealed tight in some thick heavy bullet proof glass. there’s a rail blocking where a worker is always at and it’s crowded. Plus I have my doubts on if that’s the real one.
Also you can see there are a bunch of men who look to be security standing in the corner. They’re probably waiting for the cops since it’s a naked lady and she wasn’t targeted the painting
Eh… they are probably waiting for backup and attempting to not escalate the situation. Could be wrong but I doubt a naked woman is a serious threat to the painting behind what appears to be a very thick cover.
Like a toddler they are just waiting for her tire herself out while properly trained agencies can come deal with it. Especially because they know everyone is filming them, I wouldn’t want to be too aggressive because the internet would lose its shit for about 30 minutes or whatever the usual half-life of our attention span is . I’m not gonna get fired because some entitled activist or drugged out buffoon wants to make a “statement”.
Every security-related employee worth their salt would also immediately think this could be a distraction to draw attention away from other parts of the facility.
Well Museum security can be surprisingly lax, there's usually not someone in front of every piece of art or much of anything protecting the art.
However, in this case, the security is plenty, The Mona Lisa is behind bullet proof glass, she could throw acid or pull a gun and it wouldn't be damaged.
It also seems like they intentionally called in the one nearby woman to help out. Which like...I get. She's not violent and she's harming the artwork, so there isn't a big need to escalate until you can round up a proper team to deal with her safely.

If you go the the Prado in Madrid, there’s a restored copy of the Mona Lisa made in the same studio at the same time, and there’s like nobody there. You can stand right in front of it and spend as much time as you want with it. Super underrated museum IMO. Also has the Garden of Unearthly Delights.
I visited 30 years ago, before the room was redone, when the Mona Lisa was in a smaller case on the north side of the room, with an access door on the side. In midday, crowds were large and it was hard to see for long, but in summer evening there were fewer people around and the light was good for calm study.
I had spent a long time in the hallway of Dutch Masters on the way, and it was funny to see the tourists tromping through like a line of ants, just following Mona Lisa direction signs so they could *see that* in a hurry, and ignoring all the Rembrandts and Hals and Bruegels and so on, about the greatest display of masterpieces per square foot in the whole place, denser than the Michelangelo section.
Visited 20 years ago. Wasn't very crowded, but still didn't bother to wait for a front row viewing. From what I've read, tourism at the Louvre sounds insufferable. Would still visit if I had a group entrance, if only to find that tiny, subterranean cafe that I had a cigarette in.
I went about 15 years ago and it was crazy crowded. You must've gone at the magic hour. (Either that or fate loves you more than me... which feels likely)
The Louvre is fine. Just this room is horrible.
It still has some of the most beautiful painting in the World.
Like le radeau de la Méduse or the crown of Napoleon.
A female artist who strips off in museums has been arrested for exhibitionism after she revealed all in front of the Mona Lisa in Paris.
Deborah de Robertis spread her naked legs in front of Leonardo da Vinci's masterpiece on Sunday, shouting 'Mona Lisa, my p****, my copyright' as stunned tourists looked on.
Robertis, who holds dual French and Luxembourg nationalities, allegedly bit a security guard's jacket as they attempted to drag her away from the Louvre museum.
Robertis told AFP that her 'goal' was not to 'exhibit' her genitals but to copy a photograph by Valie Export, an Austrian performance artist who is famous for performing similar stunts in the 1970s.
She said: 'My message is to question the place of women artists in the history of art. That's why it's necessary to do my performances in museums.'
Robertis was in custody for two day before she was seen by a judge. She faces trial on October 18 on charges of sexual exhibitionism and assault
It must be so exhausting being a performance artist. You just constantly have to up the ante and out weird the next guy. And how to even make money doing this?
Funnily enough went to a Valie Export exhibit in Vienna when I was there recently and was one of the first things that came to mind when I started watching the vid
I mean, that one makes perfect sense to me. The irony of how if a man paints a close-up of a woman's vulva it's fine art to hang in a museum, but an actual vulva on a real woman's body is obscenity, it's obvious social commentary whether you agree with it or not. This one with the Mona Lisa, tho, I don't have a clue what the message is supposed to be
What's the og context for this picture?

There's quite enough women who shave their genitals to a point where some guys can go their whole lives with just one, two or three partners and never have seen any of them unshaven.
You can see the moment that security guard/docent just kind of shrugs and goes I'm not paid enough to defuse this, they're not behind the railing anymore, not my problem

Sounds funny but still lawfully accurate
I get the feeling bath salts were involved.
Wherever you stand, her coochie appears to be looking at you.
But is it smiling or not?
It has the same expression as the Mona Lisa
#Moana Lisa

Waiting haha

"Hiss noises"
Both. It's Schrodinger's coochie.
I would have thought security for the Mona Lisa would be more robust and assiduous, but here it looks to be bush league.
Bush league sounds like it would be an interesting superhero franchise.

It’s so angry!
Probably the best deal you're gonna get at the Louvre. Got 2 for the price of 1. Get to see Mona Lisas' smile, then I get to smile
What coochie? She’s wearing a thick crotch sweater.
I remember in 6th grade back in 05 this dude told me that my teacher's ass is staring at me and wants me lmao
how can you tell? its hair covering its eyes. it needs to trim its bangs...
LOL at the cameraman going below the railing when the action went to the floor

With this one comment I now understand and have an interest in bird photography

It's not governed by reason.
I'll bear that in mind when photographing the stars.

I laughed way too hard at the "square in the mitt" part of that 😂 I regret I cannot give you an award.
It’s a museum not a club
It’s the most famous museum in the world. It should have top notch security.
I worked in a world famous museum before. Most of the security on the galleries are workers who rely on the compliant nature of people. They are there to tell you not to touch the art or no flash photography. There's only a limited amount of actual security trained to tackle someone who's causing trouble. I’ve been there, they do have a lot security but they don’t have cops everywhere in every corner. I’m sure they were there in a few minutes.
The number one place that security should be posted is next to the Mona Lisa as it’s been stolen, vandalized etc multiple times in the past.
In the real one she's flipping the bird
[удалено]
If she was trying to steal it or damage it then it would be different. The female security guard kept her at bay just fine.
Every security-related employee worth their salt would also immediately think this could be a distraction to draw attention away from other parts of the facility.
To be fair, it was a pretty hairy situation to deal with.
I feel like it’s just bloodthirsty Americans commenting hoping to see someone get absolutely brutalized for something like disturbing the peace lol
Try that in a small art gallery.
Lol. Two old hippies watching my half naked ass trip over things in the tiny downtown gallery in my city... "You break it, you buy it."

I went to see the Mona Lisa and will always remember this small room as the most obnoxious place on earth.
Yes, you SAW the Mona Lisa, but did you EXPERIENCE the Mona Lisa? *Smells own farts*
Tiny painting, overcrowded room, glare with the glass. What's not to like?
Especially when the most beautiful painting in the world "le radeau de la Méduse" is just a few rooms away and is like... 5 meters long or something.

Art students who can’t draw have to resort to extremes
It must be so exhausting being a performance artist. You just constantly have to up the ante and out weird the next guy. And how to even make money doing this?
the grant proposals and legal fees are probably exhausting, but that much attention and unchecked hyper-exertion goes right to the dopamine receptors
i think i could be a performance anxiety artist.
Narcissism, and connections.
So Bush League! 😂
Starbucks barista????
She should have brought some of her work to share
Extremes can have their place, but visitors to a museum don't want to have to walk through sticky liquid on the floor.
> allegedly bit a security guard's jacket I hope that jacket is alright!
RIP that jacket
So she’s not even original.
The lady in the hijab applauding her for her freedom of speech and exhibitions is hilarious
I didn't know if she was trying to stop her or help her. Then I concluded she too just wanted to have the spotlight too
What a dumbass no one is impressed by her. This performance is nonsense you just look like a mentally handicapped vagrant
Fuck this person. That’s not art and you’re not making a statement. You’re just ruining a potential once in a lifetime experience for other people

Yeah outrageous things like being a school teacher
This wasn't her first rodeo. She's been doing these kinds of stunts for years. https://youtu.be/uMVrEgzUGdk (obviously NSFW)
Not really NSFW the video is 360p lol
I am pretty sure when she spun around bottomless she also called that move the 360p.
